bellatrix's shadow follows andromeda long after her sister goes to azkaban. follows her when people on the streets in diagon shrink back because they know her face even though it's not hers it's not hers it's not hers. andromeda wears bella's face and carries bella's sins even if her eyes are brown and soft and warm and nothing like her sister's cold grey stare. it doesn't matter because these people on the streets, they know her face. they flinch because they know her face. saw it twisted in cruel rage when her sister's wand tip lit red and green and screamed vengeance. they know her face, and her eyes cannot save her from the weight of lives taken.
and even now bellatrix's shadow follows her onto the battlefield when her daughter hesitates. pauses when she sees, briefly... wild hair and pale skin and she doesn't realize doesn't see those cold grey eyes—her mother from afar. "mum?"—she doesn’t dodge the killing curse til it's too late.
bellatrix's shadow follows andromeda at the funeral where she sits alone no husband no daughter and still misses her big sister. still misses when bella would braid her hair and laugh and say meda, you look just like a princess! those times are gone and now andromeda's daughter is lowered into the earth not even thirty and already dead and her baby sits on her lap and coos. he has grey eyes.
The Black Sisters
pre Andromeda's disowning.
(first time drawing andy, yaaay)
I like the idea of Andromeda being the literal Slytherin princess before leaving her family
Something about her being every bit as ruthless and ambitious as Bellatrix, and every bit as cold and political as Narcissa, and still choosing to walk away makes me very happy
The day marauders fans stop mischaracterising Regulus, Barty, and Evan by treating them like they’re innocent little babies who “had no choice” is the day i’ll rest peacefully.
Sirius: This is a hard escape room. Regulus: This is a family dinner, Sirius
I am traveling and 9 hours in a train is a lot of time to do silly sketches ( by the way super hard cause it moves like a lot ) I also tried to do regulus but got dizzy mid way.
I also read a fic of William turner X Jack sparrow that was too hot for reading it in public, took a nap, watched two house episodes and crocheted a few rows from my tapestry.
Super cool that I saw 🐄 and 🐑 also super epic running horses.
If your reason for not shipping Ron and Hermione is because of all their bickering... you have a child's grasp of their characters.
Ron has five brothers and a little sister. You have to be quick witted to keep up with the amount of friendly fire going on inside that house. The loudest gets heard. He's always ready for a fight.
Hermione secretly judges people by their ability to keep up with her intellectually. Condescension is a reflex. It pushes people away before they can actually match her (because god forbid she lose).
Unstoppable force meets immovable object. Ron can't stop once he gets started and Hermione is too stubborn to admit she's wrong. And, the thing is, they both clearly love it.
Hermione wouldn't want a "yes" man and Ron wouldn't want someone who can't handle teasing. He challenges her intellect, and she gets an intellectual challenge. It's a win win.
Remus: I’m 90% sure this is a bad idea.
Sirius: Perfect! That’s 10% optimism. Let’s go!
Andromeda Black
The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black
Middle daughter of Cygnus Black III and Druella Black (née Rosier)
Burned off the family tree for marrying Muggle-born Edward Tonks.
Harry and Ginny are gazing into each other's eyes
Alright, I was planning to post a holiday-themed question today, but I forgot it's Christmas Eve tonight😭
let’s say mckinnon is not marlene’s maiden name. let’s say she’s a bit older than sirius. let’s say she’s either divorced or a young widower. let’s say she’s a mother. let’s say she has a four year old son. let’s say she met sirius through some sort of miraculous event. let’s say he gets along well with her son. not only that, but sirius introduce them both to the potters. let’s say her son and harry, sirius’ godson, become best friends. let’s say marlene fall in love with sirius through the small ways she sees him caring for her little son, the most precious being in her life. let’s just say, ok?
there’s a spanish song that has been tormenting me lately and i tried to write something short related to it but WHY EVERYTHING BLACKINNON HAS TO COME OUT AS ANGST OUT OF MY MOUTH 🙃
Peter betraying the people who accepted him more than anyone else ever did? Nah. That’s bad writing, not canon.
Remus Lupin and Lily Evans, 1979
Sometimes, Peter overhear students at Hogwarts talking about how he’s not fitting with Sirius and James. They say that they’re so charismatic and cool next to him. They wonder if they actually like him or is he just being clingy?
Sometimes, he starts to believe them.
But then, James practically begs him to play quidditch with him and Sirius challenges him to wizard’s chess saying that “this is the time he finally beats his Petey-boy” and he knows they love him unconditionally.
give me twenty something sirius black buying a huge chunk of land with an old abandoned cow barn in it and neighbor and slightly older marlene mckinnon teaching him all about restorative farming and them transforming the old barn into a community center where they sell the food they grow in sirius’ farm and use it as place to hold gatherings where the neighbors like to go socialize and plan music events with local artists and environmental activists.
I don't think Andromeda's rebellion was loud, like Sirius'. Not really.
I think Andromeda was a Black through and through. Her parent's pride: Slytherin, prefect, first of the class. She followed the rules, and she knew what her name entailed.
Andromeda Black used to scorn at muggleborns, to mumble stray "mudblood"s when the occasion was fit.
That's how her and Teddy first met. He and his Hufflepuff friends tripped with her, her books fell on the floor, just like a meetcute. But Andromeda didn't blush, she didn't feel like the protagonist of a romance movie.
She saw red. This careless Hufflepuffs had ruined her books, there was spilled ink all over her pages, and, worst of all, there wasn't a single pureblood amongst them.
Maybe she had already been having a bad day. Maybe, in any other situation she wouldn't have reacted, she would have been prideful.
But she cursed them out. She let out a long string of slurs that weren't even in use, a "this is what happens when they let fucking impure thieves into our school", etcetera, etcetera.
And she got a book to the face. Square, right in the middle.
Ted Tonks, one of the Hufflepuffs in the group, had grown tired of her racist rant, and had decided to put an end to it. The muggle way.
Hell ensued: Andromeda brought out her wand and started cursing. Ted charged at her with his bare hands (he was trying to prove a point). The rest of the Hufflepuffs scattered.
The teachers didn't take too long before they arrived and separated them, but Andromeda Black already had a black eye, and Ted Tonks had some ugly, bloody gashes where her curses had landed.
And they were forced to do Detention together.
They couldn't stand each other, from that point onwards. Until Andromeda started changing.
I don't think Andromeda's rebellion was loud. I think it was slow. I think she had to unlearn everything her parents had taught her, and I think at first she wasn't willing. But she was, eventually.
And she did change. She became better.

Blackkinnon sneaking off under the guise of being a good wingman/woman for Jily when really, they're having their own little date.
james and sirius are so funny because the second the person they’re in a relationship with claims they're, “too close to each other” they break up with them because frankly james and sirius aren’t close enough if you ask them!
not super into marauders content anymore but i had this wip and i had to finish it
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy being like, "I am 100% committed to respecting your 'no', but I heard you wouldn't promise my aunt not to marry me so I had to come and check just one (1) more time."
watching my grandma take her medication with a glass of red wine is so walburga black coded
Lily could’ve asked James to jump into the black lake in winter and he would’ve swan dived in without hesitation and asked if she wanted a fish.
The Remain Nameless sketches
the bond between a girl and their favorite fictional man is both an unstoppable force and an immovable object
James is not a deadbeat dad: I hate when people say that
"Dumbledore had to take his invisibility cloak because he was going out so much," No. Dumbledore borrowed James' cloak so he could research it, he asked to borrow it, and James let him.
"He leaves to go on motorbike rides with Sirius, leaving Lily and harry alone" Also, no. That was a prequel for a reason. It took place three years before Harry's birth and when James was still in Hogwarts, maybe not even dating Lily yet. And even if he was dating Lily, he can still go out because he wasn't in hiding yet.
"He forgot his wand on the couch" Key word. Forgot. He wasn't in a life or death situation, it was just pure death. He voluntarily risked his life to give Lily time to go up those stairs, knowing he'd die. He told Lily to take Harry without him. If you're going to say James is an idiot for forgetting his wand, don't forget, Lily had no wand upon her either. James was scared and clearly had no time to get his wand because one distraction could've made Voldemort pass him.
Finally drew PoA Sirius! I'm happy with the softer lineart, been experimenting with different brushes and found one I really like. So, here you go... the brief moment of hope before everything changes. 🥲
“I’ll understand, of course, if you want to stay with your aunt and uncle,” said Black. “But… well … think about it. Once my name’s cleared … if you wanted a … a different home …”
