give me twenty something sirius black buying a huge chunk of land with an old abandoned cow barn in it and neighbor and slightly older marlene mckinnon teaching him all about restorative farming and them transforming the old barn into a community center where they sell the food they grow in sirius’ farm and use it as place to hold gatherings where the neighbors like to go socialize and plan music events with local artists and environmental activists.
also, @astracoreiisblog made a community for blackinnon shippers, link here if you want to join.
Sirius isn't an attention seeker, he's an attention atttractor, he does not have to do anything to get attention, c'mon guys, get it right 🙄
might turn this into an unreleased sirius black’s song for my marauders band au.
i just love this song, this band and actually this whole era of argentinian rock tbh.
“i’m not used to my first day without you,
because i still say we when i think of you.
when the summer ended, everything seemed fine,
now i think of all the things we said unknowingly.
because soon you would leave with no explanation,
maybe it seems easy to you for me to bear this pain (for me to bear your pain).
you forgot some things in your swift departure,
and now they’re like treasures i keep for myself.
[…]
because this is my first day without seeing you
and the room feels gigantic,
i feel so small if you’re not here,
i can’t understand it.”
honestly my translation it’s kinda crap and i really don’t know if im too lazy to do it justice lol or if i love too much the spanish wording for this fuckin anthem of heartbreak.
"Was this book good or was I deeply 19 when I read it:" an investigative journalism series
Remus: I understand when people called James arrogant. It wasn’t really his fault being conceited. Only child, loving parents, a comfortable economic situation, who wouldn’t come out into the world thinking they deserve everything good in life? But as egotistical as he could be, he was also caring and kind-hearted. Yes, I’m aware of how he and Sirius treated other people, especially when they were younger, but it’s not like they were mistreating someone vulnerable, they were messing with a bunch of other self-important, full of themselves, snooty kids. And they did change their ways in the end. Well, somewhat. You couldn’t be expected to make it into the music industry, especially during the seventies, and not be a little ruthless. So yeah, James approached my concerns tactfully. He didn't want me to feel different, though we were, and by the end I didn’t even realize I was accepting his help. When we finally ended playing at their dance, I was wearing one of James’ old suits. James: From that moment on, we became insufferable. In mine and Sirius' case, even more so than usual. But seeing Remus and Peter starting to believe in the band too, was amazing. We couldn’t shut up about it. Every weekend from then on we fought over who’s idea to give a try first, we were all so inspired. At some point Hope lent us her record player. We took turns picking songs from Sirius’ collection and then tried them out on our instruments. Remus: We started changing the lyrics to the covers we played, then slowly one of us would change a chord or a beat, and then suddenly we were writing our first songs, not just obscene tunes anymore (stops, then laughs). A few of our songs turned out to be quite obscene, but you know what I meant, we didn’t feel like kids doing it anymore.

- Manacled (Chapter 66) by @senlinyu
This fic 😭❤️
uhhh interesting, cause mostly i picture her surviving in a scenario where they win the war without losing the potters. but…
judging by the letter harry found in sirius bedroom, the mckinnon’s died near harry’s birthday. so between their death and the potters are only a few month apart and in war times there’s no much time to stop and grieve. they are only allow to feel everything and actually process what happened, what they lost, after voldemort gets wiped out.
100% marlene wouldn’t have let sirius do anything stupid. at best she saves him, at worst she joins him. she’s the witness that saves him from imprisonment (she turns to dumbledore who turn to the minister blablabla he gets a fair trial, they win).
so while they trying to help each other in their griefs, because they are so young and haven’t have enough time and space to breath, i don’t think they had fully figured out every aspects of their relationship, meaning they might no be solid enough for them to endure what it means losing everything they once cared of. harry, despite everything, still goes with the durleys for his own protection.
so yeah, i think their worst character traits come to play and they cannot reconcile who they are as individuals let alone as a couple. they care for each other, ofc. in the end i think it their only option if they ever aspired to keep on each other lives.
there are certain things that you can only ever learn on your own. only distance can make understand what happened. they do evolve. they do manage to get their heads above water. and possibly reunite somewhere in the future, maybe with the whole thing of voldemort coming back, harry being in danger. he finally gets two people who knew his parents and are able to tell him all kind of stories he longed to hear.
harry, in the end, brings them together and this time, they make it.
I have so many favorite hc for blackinnon, but my all-time favorite is Sirius having a bad feeling the night Marlene dies and telling her not to go home, to spend the night in his house, to stay together-- but Marlene thinks he is being paranoid and goes to visit her home, and ends up dying there with her family. I just love the idea that Sirius lives with the regret that only if he insisted more, maybe that wouldn't have happened.
ballet academy au | blackinnon edition
—please don’t do this to me, caradoc.
caradoc dearborn was the youngest choreographer in the academy and, as such, desliked being called by any other name than his own.
—for the hundred time, marlene, i didn’t do this to you.
—but i can’t keep dancing with him, he’s unreliable.
—has he drop you?
—no.
—has he shaken when lifting you up?
—no.
—have you been feeling at risk?
—no.
—then i don’t see the issue.
—you know what the issue is. you know him. i can’t relax when i dance with him. he rarely shows up and when he does he’s always late. he never listen or pay attention. we’ll never improve. i’ll never improve with him.
—look, you either learn to work him and value the opportunity or we find you someone on a lower class and you get stuck behind all your peers. your choice.
—that’s not a choice, that’s mostly an ultimatum. either him or stop dancing altogether.
marlene had been complaining to caradoc ever since the first day she was asked to dance with sirius, but she couldn’t stop.
—just be glad you have a choice, mckitten.
marlene tensed up and turned her head abruptly at the sight of sirius.
—don’t call me that.
—hey, i didn’t come up with it.
it was true. marlene had made the mistake of hooking up with a upper classmate last year who then went and told all the boys what had happened between them. before he graduated. the nickname, unfortunately, stuck.
—look, i don’t care what either of you do. dance together or find new people, i couldn’t care less. whatever you choose to do, just make sure your on time for my next class. i’m talking to you, black.
sirius saluted him before caradoc went out the studio.
marlene left in a huff seconds later.

sirius black was meant to inherit the fortunes of both his grandparents, one through alphard and one through orion.
this is what could turn him into potentially the most powerful wizard in the lense of society. we know the malfoys were the richest when we were introduced to them, but that was in a world where the black heir was in prison.
this is what sells to me the idea that neither walburga or orion wanted to play the family game and leave the task up to cygnuss, since alphard didn’t played along either.
walburga and orion marriage was a powerful move. together they ensured the next heir to be powerful whilst securing the family line. but also, there’s a chance they had regulus not as the spare, or at least not in the sense for him to become the heir in case something happens with sirius, but more as to spare him of any duties.
they could’ve put all the expectations and pressure onto sirius and simultaneously free up his youngest to be who ever he wanted to be, an option they didn’t have.
