i have this au in my mind where marlene and sirius break up and marls is desperate to get rid of the feeling of sirius on her body.

she needs to physically move on, so she starts dating. and while she doesn’t sleep with every guy she goes out with, that’s her main intention.

so she hooks up with the guy who’s a bad kisser and she knows it’s gonna be bad in the sack and he is, but it’s fine because at least is not sirius.

then she goes out with the guy who only fucks her and doesn’t care for her at all and again, it’s fine, because is not sirius.

then she manages to find a more stable partner over time that’s sort of good but not really and it’s fine anyway, because is not sirius.

but then, she goes with a guy with whom she finally opens up about. they talk for hours before jumping in bed and it’s going well enough, until she realizes it feels too familiar, too comfortable, too achingly tender and she can’t quite shake the feeling off. so when it ends, she can’t get away from the guy and the situation fast enough.

and suddenly she feels grief for the first time because either she’ll never feel anything good again in her life or else she will be forever haunted by the memory of sirius mark on her when she finally does.

caradoc dearborn was the youngest choreographer in the academy and, as such, desliked being called by any other name than his own.

—for the hundred time, marlene, i didn’t do this to you.

marlene had been complaining to caradoc ever since the first day she was asked to dance with sirius, but she couldn’t stop.

marlene tensed up and turned her head abruptly at the sight of sirius.

it was true. marlene had made the mistake of hooking up with a upper classmate last year who then went and told all the boys what had happened between them. before he graduated. the nickname, unfortunately, stuck.

—look, i don’t care what either of you do. dance together or find new people, i couldn’t care less. whatever you choose to do, just make sure your on time for my next class. i’m talking to you, black.

sirius saluted him before caradoc went out the studio.

marlene left in a huff seconds later.

i have landed on something, i’m going with my gut here.

i like the idea of knights watch/wilding but i fear i would make marlene too much like ygritte and no, we already knows how that one ends (🥲)

so… this is during the time where the starks are the kings of the north. orion is the hand of the king. he and his family don’t approve of the idea of bending the knee to the targaryen. i don’t know if there are direwolfs in this era, but even if there aren’t and they have zero defenses against dragons, the blacks are set to keep the north an independent kingdom.

sirius as the oldest son is meant to be lord of his house but, until he comes of age, he’s the squire of the king or whatever they call the position where he’s supposed to learn from under the wing of an important person 😂 haven’t read the books in a while and i even forget the right words in spanish so, anyway…

james is possibly the older son to the king (i can’t picture sirius without him). sirius is obviously living in the castle along side his dad and the stark/potter family.

marlene however… is the daughter of the inn keeper. the inn where all the major lords and people from the south come and stay when they can’t be in the castle.

she has always wanted to learn how to ride like a boy and duel and fight with swords, very much like arya. but she can’t exactly ride the few horses his father has because they’re not train for that or they are too old.

marlene is often working in the tavern and that’s how she meet sirius.

maybe he catches her trying to “steal” a sword or playing pretend, something like that when they are young and sirius would never admit it, but she’s the reason he keeps coming back even though he has full warm meals in the castle. he brings james from time to time.

now that’s all i have so far.

obviously whatever they have could never become something because of their situation, but in this scenario neither of them are content with their respective situation and most likely will take matters into their own hands.

mary mcdonald (supermodel): she [marlene] came back after a trip home and couldn’t stop talking about this boy. she talked about him like he was some sort of comet, a once in a lifetime encounter. i didn’t know him at the time and thought she was talking nonsense. you know? the kinda crap you say when you’re heels over head for someone before you realize they’re as shitty at the rest of them. i mean, who could’ve been more of a trailblazer than her? a year later i met him. it clicked then. he didn’t have eyes for anyone else. even after they got famous, after all the fame and the groupies and the after party’s. if you want to believe the tabloids at the time just know this: sex sells. and no one sold sex better than sirius black. but his heart… it belonged only to her.

(not me trying to beat the allegations of being too angsty)

they have the longest conversations in bed while eating junk food and drinking beer. sirius loves marlene has an appetite and is not concerned like other girls with her appearance. he thinks she’s the most beautiful girl anyway and the fact that she doesn’t care that much makes her extra hot.

marlene loves buzzing sirius hair off. the first time she was scared as hell but sirius saying “i trust you” after her repeatedly asking him if he was fine was enough to fill her with confidence (and simultaneously melted her insides). she loves trying new cuts whenever he’s in the mood to cut his hair. sirius won’t admit it but he cuts it so often because he loves watching marlene looking so concentrated in the reflection of the mirror.

this is more of a muggle au. sometimes they take a joke too far and hurt each others feelings (they never say it, they just stop messing around and silently retreat and try to act normal when they are in public). when this happens and they find each other on a store sirius always catches the camera with the live footage underneath and stars reaching out for marlene. hugs her, kiss hers. tickles her. points at the camera implying they have to act normal cause somebody’s watching. and so marlene hugs him back, kiss him, mess with his hairs. by the time they go out of the store, they are as good as ever.

during the war they start talking about all the places they will visit when they win. they will jump on sirius’ bike and fly around the world wherever the sky takes them. sirius even ventures out as saying they will use no map. marlene jokes about the idea coming from the same man who co-created the marauders map. the whole thing becomes their coping mechanism but also a promise. they will have time for it once it’s all over.

sirius starts running quidditch bets after he ran from home since he doesn’t have any money (yet). remus disapproves. marlene loves it. sirius comes up with the craziest moves (sometimes injuries) to engage with the gamblers and marlene tries her best to achieve them. she has good aim after all. they stop after marlene sent three slytherins with head concussions to the medical wing over the course of one game. mcgonagall send both to detention. separately.

they have a spot near the lake in hogwarts but they have to cut through the forbidden forest to get there. it was marlene’s place first. sirius just followed her once. it became a habit since third year when they were just friends. they had their first kiss there. it was also the first place the shagged. marlene came back with little sticks and leaves in her hair. sirius claimed she had a rough encounter with the whomping willow. marlene still resents him a little for that. as if she would be as stupid as to fly near that thing. it took her time but she got her revenge when she let drop the exact time where myrtle might find one very naked sirius black using the prefects bathroom.
