2022 wrap up collage | 2023

normally i draw my wrap up journal entries, but during this time, i was still recovering from covid (i never want to get sick of it again), and had little energy to spare to make my usual year end illustration. during this time, too, i was in my trying to dabble in collage era, so i figured to do one for a change, and to keep up with the wrap up tradition as well.

the spread is from an old A5-sized notebook, and the papers and some of the stickers i used were mostly second-hand craft materials gifted to me by one of my friends at work. i tried my best to utilize the quote stickers to capture the recurring thoughts and feelings i've had the past year. it's quite a challenge considering most of them didn't really make sense, but that also worked for me as it embodied the chaos i found myself in (intentionally and unintentionally 🙃)

today i found myself feeling unusually productive in carrying out my task avoidance list: i decided to update my CV, create a skeleton for a website where i’ll post my art (original and fan art), muse about my online accounts and presence, and so this main blog just went through a mini-overhaul. sana ganito rin ako sa work, but i’m not gonna talk about that atm. even my overthinking at work has reached burnout levels, i don’t know how to recover swiftly from it.

and because i’m working on a website for my works now, i’ve decided to use my main blog for more personal posts! mostly when i have no time and energy to get my journal and when typing feels more convenient than writing. this’ll be an archive of sorts.

anyway, i know i’m not really obliged to explain the reasons for my doing things, but i’m just wired to do so, i guess?

last saturday, i took some time off my games and work to assemble a small flower made up of entirely building blocks (they're not really lego pieces so i won't call it lego). the tiny flowers and the flower pot kept falling off every time i add a piece, but after the initial frustration of having to restack the tiny parts each time they fall, i found myself too absorbed completing everything, and even added a few pieces to add more details. now i want to buy another one, and buy an acrylic casing to keep all of the tiny building block models safe from dusts and our cats at home.

ofc there's going to be a photoshoot of the final output with pocket kaveh (´｡• ◡ •｡`) ♡

once again i changed the tumblr names of my main tumblr and my sideblog, and i have come to accept that i may have username commitment issues.

sometimes being a rareshipper can be pretty lonely, but also motivational just so u can scratch that rarepair itch for yourself and in the hopes of finding a fellow rarepair shipper.

anyway, here's a wip of said rareship with the photo reference of the pose. i realized while i may have been drawing for so long now, i need a lot of practice when it comes to drawing people interacting with each other.

perhaps i’m really biased towards kaveh, but i want—demand—him to participate in a summer patch because i feel like it just suits his creative nature, and being someone who practices design and art, it only makes sense that he’d find the time (and budget, i guess) to travel around and enrich his knowledge and appreciation even more. yes, i’m probably just biased, which is why i toured most of the simulanka realm with kaveh.

(also, i could’ve cropped the genshin watermark on the photos, but i guess that’s just for another time. i do wish they can do something about that since hsr has an option to hide the game’s logo when taking photos. that said, i do think that between the three current popular hyv games, genshin’s camera option is the most optimal since it captures the scenery the way you last framed it, where as with hsr and zzz, i’d take a few minutes to set up the scene i want to capture just to get the desired composition.)

this summer patch isn’t really something that i was super excited about compared to the previous summer patches, but i really liked how the simulanka world was designed, especially with the origami characters of the forest of blessings! actually, it’s because of the realm itself that i kept on coming back every time i log in because i just like going around there and taking photos. in spite of feeling nonchalant about this, i do feel that sadness i always feel after summer patches because even in games, i am bad with goodbyes (T^T )

natlan patch is tomorrow, and i can already see how busy my week will be as a hyv games enthusiast (not sure if i should be proud of it because gacha is another form of gambling, and i play genshin, hsr, and zzz so what does that make me, right?).

cyno saying this tells me that during their student days, haitham and kaveh weren’t the most diligent when it came to attending their classes, and though it’s implied in canon that the four of them only became more familiar with each other after they graduated (with kaveh as haitham’s bridge to the two besties), and has gotten closer since the last sumeru archon quest, i wouldn’t be surprised if cyno would notice this detail about them since both haitham and kaveh are well-known in the akademiya even when they were students: haitham was popularly unpopular due to his unusual approach to studying, and kaveh stood out from his peers because his talent and intellectual prowess earned him the label, light of kshahrewar (and of my life, too 🤲🏻 hihihi). cyno probably had an idea who they are back then, but never really formed any bond with them until they were all out of school already.

(i do remember reading in his character story that haitham frequently skips classes since he finds independent study more efficient and effective for him, which is strangely frowned upon by the academe itself. i don’t know about kaveh since he’s always struck me as that student who will still show up to class even if he’s feeling under the weather just because he’s supposed to show up for classes.)

or it’s possible he just can’t believe the two of them aren’t arguing for once, that’s why he can’t help but comment. love it for the two of them (haitham and kaveh), honestly, and i mean it in the most platonic of ways (as to why i stopped shipping them romantically, i’ll save that story for another day 😌). i do feel like even if haitham and kaveh’s current relationship is a mixed bag (as kaveh said so), when duty calls for them to cooperate, they can hold their tongues and personal opinions until they accomplish what they’re supposed to do. it’s like those “the body remembers” kind of moment, if i’m making any sense.

anyway, it’s been a week since i finished the cyno story quest (because i have little self-control when kaveh is mentioned. i miss my best husband okay!!), and i found the entire quest heartwarming, though a little too fast for me? anyway, i’m so excited for sethos to join the boy band, too. i shall now call them my 5umeru bois.

(i also just recently finished the last of my requirements for my job clearance so i’ll catch up on keeping a record of my genshin, star rail, and animal crossing ✨gameplays✨)
