all the while, he has also been one of the main people who would jump to action to defend and protect the eggs when needed. he has in the past left alone with multiple kids and been attacked and none of the kids died! he makes sure no egg is left alone ever when adventuring dungeons!! and now, he actively leaves stacks of the cookie quest items right in the bakery so people can finish quest quickly if needed. he has even stated to multiple people "if you need cookies, message me, i will log on and give them to you" THAT'S how he shows his care to those who arent his kids!
if he didnt like sunny OR tubbo, for the matter, he wouldnt go up to him and ask him what he needs, how many cookies away he is from a full bar, he wouldnt throw the items at him so he can finish quickly.

in this case tho, sunny is a kid. confronted by an adult who she finds scary and who has been hurt by comments the person has done about them. and they told her parent. and that parent has done fuck-all to let this other adult about this, or that their attitude should change at all.
like. hell, tubbo is sunny's parent AND phil's friend, so if he doesnt want to stop interacting with phil cause she's scared of him, it would literally take him nothing to take him to the side and explain what's going on, to leave him a book near his house. hell, it takes nothing to type "/tell Ph1lza hey, the comments that you did about my kid made them a little uncomfortable, maybe tone it down?".
instead he just reassures sunny it's all good, and keeps going to hang out with phil without telling him. and thus phil will continue with the same attitude he's always had. and nothing will change. because yeah: he doesnt know shit about sunny, doesnt know sunny.
and the person who does know them -and is responsible for them- should step up and smothe things out. because it IS tubbo's responsability as sunny's caretaker to do this type of shit.
tubbo is the adult with the knowledge in this case. HE has to take the steps to make something better for HIS kid.

Basically the sunny and phil thing boils down to qphil meant no harm but the way he went about trying to reassure sunny was simply terrible. He made a M I S T A K E he didnt intentionally harm her.
He wanted sunny yo feel that it wasnt her fault that talulah disliked her however saying that talulah always feels sad and lonely because wilbur is gone is not a good way. Rather than coming across as "dont feel bad its not your fault" it comes across as "you shouldnt feel bad becuase talulah has it worse" which just invalidates sunnys feelings
talulah can not trust the new eggs and sunny can also be upset by it.
i hope that they can discuss it with qphil and that he acknowledges the msitake and apologises

For everyone else's lore, he'll be serious for them and gently make fun when it's appropriate.

because yeah! children find adults scary all the time, especially adults who seems myseterious and put together. and also no fucking shit is my man fucking scary! the first time sunny EVER saw him was him waking up on the ship and getting to the island, so who knows what kinda aura that shows to a kid.
second of all, you have this guy who cassually talks about horrible things that have happened in the past, who makes no double take at the mention of suffering or death. this guy who lives in the top of a wall that if you fall of you WILL die, and he does so casually, while building on the edge of the same precipiece.
this guy who everyone tells you is so nice, and his kids are sweet and amazing, but the moment that you see them, one of those kids is looking you with distrust in their eyes, and wont approach you much. did they leran that from him? surely they did. every other kid has loved you so far, why wouldnt this kid like you too?
actually every other adult you've met has loved you and talked you with adoration, and bend themselves backwards to you asks, and then there's this guy who, TO YOU, is not folding his every self to your wishes like every other adult is -in fact he made YOU try to fold with offers of things you like instead.
and then aat the same time this guy literally turns to you, and talks and jokes with you like you're the same age as your parent, in the same tone.

I'm still reeling over q!Philza trusting q!Foolish enough to show him his wings. Tubbo and Fit were not too surprising - they not only saw him use his wings while escaping Purgatory, but they are all very close friends that he trusts and respects. But Foolish really surprised me, in a good way. Because before Purgatory, I don't think the thought would've ever crossed his mind. He didn't know Foolish well, after all, and really saw no reason to trust him. They barely interacted whatsoever.
But then they got teamed up in Purgatory. And after all they went through together in Pugatory, Phil is willing to reveal a vulnerable part of himself to him! He got the chance to bond with Foolish and got to know him a whole lot better. And in turn, Foolish has gained a huge amount of open respect for Philza. The aftermath of Purgatory is going to persist, because there's so many bonds that were made during that time, bonds that will greatly effect the story going forward. We're already seeing that, and I love it.
Plus, Phil's newfound trust can very likely be said for the remaining Bolas members. With the bond of this group, his circle of trust has expanded quite a bit, if we're to believe that he trusts every member of Bolas (or at least the original members i.e. I dunno how much he might trust, say, q!Ironmouse; no offense to her, though it'd be nice!). And considering this is 'paranoid, old hermit who hides away up on the wall' Philza we're talking about, that's some incredible growth on his part. Might be the steps he needs to take to be more vulnerable and open in general around others...

/lh but I've seen a few people talking about the philza and foolish wings interaction and saying purgatory strengthened their bond and they both have a lot more respect for eachother. I'm not saying this is wrong in any way but I feel like people are forgetting how big of a philza fanboy foolish has already been through out their time on the island. he already HAD a lot of respect for phil, he nearly idolizes him. even though they're not online at the same time very often, foolish is always excited to see him and (iirc) has called him very wise and a god before. do yall remember how excited foolish was when phil built the hot girl beach bar? he couldn't believe he got to witness The philza minecraft build something in front of him. and even today after their conversation, he called phil "a delightful sensation as always"

I really want Chayanne and Tallulah to find out how Phil was when they were gone, about the Birdhouse and the subsequent birds appearing and him not being sure if he's dreaming.
I especially want to see Chayanne's reaction, to know that his strong warrior of a father was so scared and weak when he was gone. And I want Tallulah to know how much Phil cares.
I really want them all to comfort each other. Phil knows that Chayanne and Tallulah are not ok, they're scared and traumatized, obviously, and I'm pretty sure they know that Phil is not ok either, but he won't admit it.
I want to see him open up to his kids, and let himself be vulnerable, now that his children are safe.

From his POV, Sunny was being a morally ambigious girlboss that's gonna rob you blind and call you poor while she's at it. (Philza VOD from 22. November 2023 at the 04:23:03 mark) (after going though Foolish's chests she placed a sign down with "kinda trash" written on it, refering to Foolish's stuff. After that, "no good stuff" and "POORRRRRR", probably egged on by Philza laughing.)
He's now teasing her about that.
(Compare it to the way he teases Richas about never bathing. It's funny and Richas is proud of his anti-bathing stance. Phil has called him smelly and stinky and other stuff. They're on good terms.)

Saw so many people said qPhil and qTubbo's relationship is uneven. I understand it may be in qTubbo POV affected the reflect on how you see the relationship. But I can assure you qPhil have a ungodly amount of trust for qTubbo cuz that man is so paranoid if he allowed you to take care of Chayanne and Tallulah alone then you good mate.
