Possible Npd And Bpd Culture Is Getting Tired Of Being Nice For Everyone Else's Sake And Just Wanting

possible npd and bpd culture is getting tired of being nice for everyone else's sake and just wanting to be yourself fully.

i want to be mean to be mean, but i don't like the idea of upsetting my friends. (idrc in the moment but afterwards i feel bad.)

it might entail me a dick and harming people on purpose but i'm just so exhausted by everything.

What I'm actually saying when I defend people with stigmatised disorders: “Please don’t spread harmful stereotypes, not everyone is like that, it’s really hurtful to people who struggle with it.”

What people seem to think I'm saying: “Abusive behaviour is absolutely okay if someone’s mentally ill, it’s discrimination not to ignore red flags, please walk up to the nearest person on the street screaming at nothing and offer them your couch to sleep on.”

i think my most narcissistic trait is the fact that i would be uncomfortable being friend with another person with NPD because i have to be The One And Only Narcissist™️

“Don’t let your disorder define you”

Okay but do you support the people whose disorders do define them?

Do you support people with the chronic illnesses who have had to develop whole lives around their conditions? Do you support the intellectually disabled people whose whole way of thinking is defined by their disorder? Do you support the people with personality disorders who literally have a disorder as a personality? Do you support the autism/ADHD people whose disorder you can’t separate from who they are? Do you support the DIDOSDD people who have multiple definitions of themselves because of their disorder?

Or are you just saying that because a disorder defining someone means you can’t ignore it.

I Know There's Already An NPD Flag, But I'll Be Honest...some Of Its Color Symbology And Language Feel

I know there's already an NPD flag, but I'll be honest...some of its color symbology and language feel both stigmatizing and yet also too lax. If you'll hear me out, I'll explain my version's changes.

I like that some of the colors on the original are picked off of the narcissus (daffodil), so I reincorporated that and added the green of the leaves for growth and recovery instead.

Something about the black strip being support for people with NPD felt...dark, sad, and generally like it added to this idea that were are a dark mark on the population. Instead, I made the white strip for this as a way to say...I want to wipe the slate clean on how others see us so we can be really supported. Additionally, the black, red, orange gradient kinda looked like raw meat. Just felt too violent. We aren't inherently violent.

Finally, I changed the verbiage of "normalization of symptoms" to "destigmatization of symptoms" as I feel the distinction is a healthier way for us to view our of symptoms.

We are struggling with bad coping mechanisms that DO need to be correct, but are misunderstood and need to be destigmatized.

Lastly, the overall more childlike palette as a whole represents trauma stemming from childhood and how suffering from this PD often feels like being thrown back that childhood pain and never learning safe coping mechanisms.

Thank you for reading!

I also previously made a comic about the comorbidity of personality disorders with autism. Though it only briefly mentions my NPD/NPD traits, I still think it's important to add here:

I feel like there are a lot of people out there who needs to hear this:

If you dropped out of school because of diagnosed (or undiagnosed) ADHD, Autism, ADD, OCD, Dyslexia, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia etc… You did not fail. The education system failed you.

Amazing news y’all, turns out fat people with NPD are wonderful and cherished and stunningly gorgeous!

Fat narcissists are babes and kings and absolute legends, it’s just a fact!

you know what, shoutout to the neurodivergent people with "scary" symptoms.

the ones who:

-say dark things without realizing

-talk to themselves

-have homicidal thoughts

-get really, really angry

-make others uncomfortable on accident

-don't tolerate bullshit

-can't/won't mask

-have dark interests

-have genuinely hurt others before

-have been in a psych ward before

-obsess over people

-have intrusive thoughts about hurting people

-have sexual intrusive thoughts

-don't really care about others much

-always choose themselves first

-have low/no empathy

-are seen as creepy or scary by others

this goes out to my folks with autism that isn't "uwu cute". personality disorder havers. schizospec people. ocders. odd and ied havers. and anyone and everyone else.

this post does not support intentionally hurting people. but people who have hurt others in the past and have changed or are trying to change/in the process of changing are more than welcome here.

If you're convinced that narcissists are uncaring cold-blooded monsters, you never had a person with NPD trust you enough and it kinda shows why.
