“ships should at least make sense.” no. ships can make sense, sure. but they’re just fictional characters we play with for fun. they’re fantasies, not a fucking thesis paper. so no, they don’t always have to make sense. they just have to make you happy (or horny).
let people enjoy (fictional) things however they want to enjoy.
im trying to learn guitar as my, like.. 10th insturment and it is taking LONGER THAN I WOULD LIKE. can someone please explain to me how to switch chords so fast my fingers dont do that.
I get so defensive of the women in TMA like "she killed people" "She fed that guy to the distortion!!" "She was mean to Jon!" " She tried to kill Jon" "She set that guy's head on fire!!" "She set that house on fire!" Like, God forbid women have hobbies right??? God forbid women do anything!!!
ok heres one of my favorite tma headcanons i thought of:
so. jon uses some sort of cane or crutches after the prentiss attack because the worm bites messed up his nerves.
after he gets avatared, his strength is completely reliant on statements and stuff and thus doesn't need them as much (in the same vain where people make him not needing glasses any more because of the eye)
daisy is much weaker and also probably hard to treat since in my mind she got declared legally dead when she was missing after the unknowing (or she just doesn't want to go to the hospital, that works too) so jon gives her his crutches which she uses most of the time when not doing physical therapy
idk is this weird? idk i just think it's sweet
“What if I write it and it’s bad-”
WHAT IF YOU WRITE IT AND ITS GOOD? WHAT IF YOU WRITE IT AND ITS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED? WHAT THEN????
AU idea where it's a timeloop and everytime you restart the piece of media the characters are reset but they remember. So its like undertale but everyone knows you don't care about their happiness.
Oh you want to rewatch your favorite show to watch your favorite ship fall in love again? Womp womp you're the villain because you forced them to start back at square one. They hate you now. They cry everytime you pause the show or put down the book because they don't know how long it will be until you let them resume their tale.
Are you punishing them? To them, you are a cruel god who makes them relive their mistakes and traumas just to entertain yourself.
When Sasha hosts her first D&D session, Michael isn’t invited, really, but it shows up regardless; clutching a character sheet and set of resin dice whose insides swirl around in a way that gives everyone a headache. Jon is ready to kick it out immediately, but Sasha vouches for it, and somehow they begin the game with it in their party.
None of them claim to know the Distortion, but they expected a chaotic character — a wild mage or barbarian, maybe. They don’t expect a lore bard, especially not a human one, and especially not one of such a kindly demeanor. It’s strange, watching Michael switch between voicing its character and describing its actions to Sasha, as though they’re actually playing with two distinct Spiral avatars instead of one.
As the campaign continues, they discover just how many little details it put into its character. He likes colorful tunics and warm scarves. He thinks lilies are pretty. He’s somehow “more of a doormat than Martin”, as Tim puts it. He was an acolyte before becoming an adventurer. Dungeons and Dragons is a game all about constructing elaborate lies wrapped around a grain of truth, after all.
And if Jon Knows something about this character, this strange creation that seems to fit Michael like a second skin, he chooses not to say.
so embarrassing to get obsessed with your own oc but it doesn't fuel you creatively or motivate you at all you just sort of sit there. like yeah I've been thinking a lot about blorbo from my mind. no images of them exist in the world and they have maybe 3 personality traits so far. I would rather die than attempt to write about them. I've spent the last 48 hours rotating them in my brain though
It's simple, interns/assistants dying in TMA is horrifying and grief inducing, leaving an absence in the show that can be felt till the very last moment of the series finale because it didn't have to be like this, but of course it did. They were hired to die. Tim and Sasha and Michael were always going to die because it was their only purpose.
Interns/assistants dying in WTNV is one of their funniest long term bits.
These are both critiques of capitalist exploitation of the working class
jonathan archivist: your pastries always taste amazing, what's your secret?
baker: the warmth of the oven always felt like comfort. i liked the heat, the smell, even when i wasn't baking anything. now, no matter what i bake or put in there, i can never get rid of that smell. it was two years ago, if i remember correctly. i was rolling out a new batch of bread loafs. have you ever baked bread before? they say that kneading the br
