April reads, not including what I read on my kindle. Having them in a pile like this makes me realize just what an absolute mix of genres I read in the past couple of weeks. It's hilariously chaotic. Anyway!! May is here! I was just telling a friend it feels like a yellow month for me, the kind of month that gives you unrestrained courage. Everything is bright and vivid. May you soak up the sun and grow confidently like the plants outside this month🌻

Nature is so beautiful right now... I am so happy to finally be able to spend much time outside, soaking in the colours of spring!
My vacation is over and I'm a bit sad. I loved every minute of these two weeks but now back to work. Which is ok as I like what I'm doing. Still, time off is still better haha
April 29, 2025 — snippets of the past couple of days. I enjoyed a delicious bowl of pho with a friend and the sunshine that has finally emerged for spring. I didn’t get a chance to study over the weekend but I’m hopeful I will be able to this week after work. I want to pick up studying languages again, specifically Spanish.

2025. 04. 28 | The weekend.
Koningsnacht and Koningsdag, we took it easy this year.
I had a pretty bad week a couple weeks ago at work and just mentally checked out for a bit, which was easy to do because it’s basically been Pasqua weekend, work retreat, Koningsdag, and now we’re back. Like a month later lol.
There’s just casual racism, sexism, xenophobia by some people there and not really anybody recognizing it, so I lost my drive for work for a bit.
Anyway, today was the first real day back and my student and I spent it in the lab. There are setbacks but we’re making some progress. I’m just excited to finally get going.
I shouldn’t treat my body like a shore for others to shipwreck onto. Somehow no one has told me this yet.

April 22nd, 2025
Tuesday already but I still have this week off. However, I'll have to start working a bit today as there's a pile of exams to grade and some classes to plan waiting for me. My plan is to do something during the day and work 1-2 hours each night. That way it'll still feel like vacation.
To do for today:
- get an overview of the things I have to do before school starts
- prepare one exam
- grading
Classes start today.
Feeling a bit apprehensive because I decided to take as many classes as possible this semester, and it's going to be tough. But as much as I love studying, and as much as I worry about the future, I really really want to get closer to the finish line.
On top of my classes, I also need to come up with a research question for my master's thesis (hence the book in the picture – hoping for some inspiration). I have a few ideas, but so far, I'm not in love with any of them.
At least the weather's nice! (although we desperately need some rain...)
27.04.2025—can’t believe it’s almost the end of April. this month has been a hot mess, i’ll be happy to see it go. onto better things
to be seen without performing. to be heard without screaming. to be missed without disappearing. to be enough without proving it. to be held without falling apart. to be understood without explaining. to be wanted without conditions. to be. to be.
