OH MY GOD???

I DON'T QUITE KNOW WHAT I EXPECTED, BUT THAT? THAT WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. IMMEDIATELY I AM SO IMMERSED. This update is kinda killing my phone but I AM SO IMMERSED

Is it just me, or does Yuu have a sorta weird history with being kidnapped?

Like sure, it's not technically the main plot, but it plays a really big part, no?

How did they get there? Kidnapped by a mirror. Chapter 3? Reverse kidnapped (kicked out of home) then reverse kidnapped again. (Forced their way into someone else's home.)

Chapter 4? Kidnapped for like, a week. In Scarabia. Genuinely this time.

Chapter 6? Reverse kidnapped. (Grim and the OB victims were kidnapped, so Yuu busted into a HIGHLY SECURE GOVERNMENT FACILITY.)

Chapter 7? The entire island was kinda kidnapped, which includes Grim and Yuu.

Then there's events. Don't get me wrong I haven't seen many, but I believe in the Stitch one they get kidnapped by a book, in Playful Land they get kidnapped by human traffickers, and in the recent Nightmare Before Christmas one, they all get kidnapped by a book AGAIN, before Yuu and Grim get (sorta willingly?) kidnapped by Skully.

That's weird, right? Like I'm not the only one who's noticed that? Yuu gets kidnapped like, every other week. It's shocking that they haven't gotten put on house arrest yet, honestly.

Also I tried Ramune today, delicious.

Tldr; Kidnapping is a surprisingly big plot point in TWST. Odd.

Do you think MC still knows some random aerospace stuff from when Caleb wasn't pretending to be dead?

Like I know I worded that wrong but still- I'm just imagining MC pretending to be uninterested in what Caleb does for work, just to (accidentally or purposefully) retain an oddly large amount of information on stuff like aerodynamics and engines and flight speed.

After the explosion, MC might hang out with one of her many suitors, and they go to a festival or smth and I'm just imagining them stumbling across, like, a paper airplane contest, and they're like "hey this could be fun"

Lo and behold MC completely dominates the competition, doubling the score of the person in second place and walking away with all the prizes, all bcuz her now (presumably) dead ex/BFF/whatever else he was, was really interested in planes before he (fake) died.

Anyway, back to totally not pirating shows while I wait for one of my games to redownload.

I'm just gonna come out and say it- I feel like Caleb might not end up having a myth?

Hear me out here- I know all the other love interests have myths and it would be weird for Caleb to be the one exception but hear me out-

All the other love interests, a good part of their lore is their myth. Rafayel is salty about MC forgetting him, he's the god of the sea or smth (not entirely sure, I haven't read all of it) Xavier is the Prince of Philos (also not entirely sure forgive me-) Sylus is (was?) a dragon, and Zayne betrayed a god for MC.

Point is, the main reason they value MC so much (nix Zayne I think, I heard somewhere that he doesn't remember MC.) is BECAUSE they remember her past lives. Rafayel actively hates all other humans, Xavier and the flower shop guy confirmed that she's important because of who she was, Sylus as well, blah blah blah, point is that all their lore depends on her past lives.

But Caleb? The central point of his story is that he died. Him and MC grew up together, one day he came back and they were visiting Josephine, and suddenly he died. Suddenly, the house blew up and took him with it.

And for the past- year? Half a year? Somewhere around there, for the past HOWEVER LONG, Mc has been grieving and mourning, not just thinking, but KNOWING him as having died, to her knowledge he had died in that fire, and really a part of him did.

That kindhearted caring boy she knew? The one who would try to avenge her even after she lied and said she was fine, the one who said she could talk to him about anything, he's dead.

And in his place stands three things. The necklace she gave him before he died, the death certificate confirming he truly is gone, and Colonel Caleb. A testament to all that has changed.

His story might not revolve around MC forgetting him, but instead around MC remembering a version of him that no longer exists.

That, and I feel like giving him a myth of top of all his other lore may feel like too many cooks in the kitchen, y'know?

Am I the only one who noticed the distinct lack of bionic arm in the gameplay parts with Caleb?

The workout thing specifically.

The way I see it, there's two possibilities.

Possibility one is that he never actually had a bionic arm. It was just a nod to the fans who said he would, and it truly was no more than a nightmare.

Possibility two, and honestly I'm not sure if I like this one more or less; is that the dates and quality time and such take place *before* the story. That during the story, he's so different and distant and serious that there's genuinely no way that him and MC could work anymore. It's a tragedy.

He's so different now, has such a different personality and such different priorities that MC cannot even picture him ever going back to the kind and caring person she once knew so well.

That the reason she seems so distressed during the teaser is because she genuinely doesn't know this person anymore. He's different and she knows it, and he's such an uncanny replica of her old friend that being near him just feels uncomfortable.

Or, y'know, it was just a nightmare he had. Who knows.

I feel like there's something to be said about how Caleb uses his Evol before and after the explosion.

Before the explosion, we only see him using his Evol as a sort of stand in for levitation. Much like his personality, his Evol seems light and airy. He uses it gently- to take MC's gift and to play with a passing leaf. It seems fun and lighthearted, he lessens the impact gravity has on objects, like he seems to lessen the stress out on MC.

But after the explosion? We only seem to see him using his Evol to drag people down. Keep them in place, make them bend to his will. His expression and voice are more distant, more serious, and so is the way he utilizes his Evol. It's not fun and lighthearted anymore, instead it's used to seemingly demonstrate just how superior he is to the person he's using it on. He has changed, and thus so has his utilization of his Evol.
