The thumbnails are showing up as black shapes for me (but everything works fine), let me know if you experience that as well and I'll try to figure out wtf is going on.
I thought elders could use some randomness in their final fate. Made 3 semi-random events for them:
live longer
die early
get sick
Early death branches into:
sudden "heart attack" followed by - death by fright, or - death by drowning if they happened to be swimming at the time
decreased age duration followed by death of old age the next day or so
At first, it was going to be sort of a coin flip once a day deciding whether a playable elder dies prematurely, or gets an additional day of life, or keeps living for the allotted time. Turned out a little more detailed and configurable
Sickness is not as impactful, just something to highlight old age problems. It's a maxis style disease curable by soup and rest (thinking of realistic medical conditions made me sad and I stopped)
This is @midgethetree's awesome functional yoga mat, with a few tweaks to make it friendlier for use on an OFB business lot. It's more attractive now, and Sims of any body skill level can use it, not just 3+ points.
This would absolutely not have come together without the helpful guidance of @gummilutt, @hugelunatic, and @heathensimmer helping me and suggesting what to try since I am very much not a modder! But once again, desperately stubborn when it comes to making things work in my own game.
This is just an edit of the mesh, replace Midge's version with mine, but get the recolours from her original post.
Enjoy :)

SUL SUL, DEAR SIMMERS!
We've got something special for you! 🩵
Yes, you've read correctly! With the amount of artistic talent of all sorts that has amassed over the years and the persisting loyalty to this game, we felt like it was about time to call the production of a free, digital zine for the summer of 2025 into action!
I'm intrigued. But what's a zine?
For the sake of brevity, let's ask Britannica: Zine, a small-circulation print or online publication that is produced through noncommercial means and is meant to appeal to a niche audience. The term zine derives from fanzine, an amalgamation of the words fan and magazine.
How can I contribute?
There are a number of ways! From edits using any of the games, to digital art, writing and physical crafts, you can put your creative talent to use! The central theme is Sims 2 Nostalgia, so while you are given a lot of liberty on your chosen medium, it should feature the characters, townies, NPCs, or even objects from the pc game and its spin-offs!
Sweet! How do I apply?
We're so ready to welcome you on board! While we are planning on a big-scope project, we cannot predict the number territory of applications and thus haven't set a specific number of spots in stone. All you gotta do is fill out this form and we will get back to you after the deadline, January 29th!
This should cover the most vital points for now! Further zine specs and details will be covered on the faq page we're currently setting up, or follow post application. But if there's a burning question you think you need answered right away, shoot us a DM! 🦙
See you soon!
Hi there y'all! Since the last update for The Sims 4, burglars are back (10 years later-), and with them, a nice burglar alarm. This item got my attention and I wanted to port it to The Sims 2, but I don't had the game installed because ~Hard Drive Space issues~. However, I found the model out there, so I decided to port it finally!
I've found a few problems with it at the time to port to The Sims 2. For example, originally the led screen was attached to the green/red led, with no editions at all, which made the entire alarm to look green! Then, my second option was to simply edit the mesh and add it over the base alarm, so yeah, behind the led screen theres the actual turned off alarm, very clever! So I believe that if you didnt paid your bills and they cut the lights, I think the turned off screen wil be shown instead (didn't tested).
(The video is an old version with no glow)
It will switch between blue and orange (depending if a burglar activated it or not), however, sound effect couldn't be replaced with the TS4 version. If the cops arrives in time, the alarm will be deactivated and switch back to blue.
In order to make it functional, you'll need to download the Custom Burglar Alarms by MidgetheTree, otherwise, it's just a nice paperweight with no use :)
Description:
A state-of-the-art Burglar detector that can be upgraded with all the fanciest features. Helps you sleep safe and sound, unless a Burglar is spotted. Also effectively wakes the whole family up, as it should. Very, very loudly. Buy one for any door the Burglar could enter from!
Mesh and textures were converted by me.

it's finally done!! @misa_caliente on the simscord requested this agesss ago, and i've been working on and off on it ever since. have @pierisim's incredible pantry party converted from ts4 to ts2, in 48-item entirety! as a kitchen clutter addict, i am IN LOVE!!
this has honestly been so, so rewarding. all items are either decorational, found under appliances -> misc, or functional shelving, found under surfaces -> misc. you get 43 items of kitchen clutter and 5 new shelves, all with slots thanks to @hugelunatic's awesome slots tutorial! i've included a readme and collection file for ease of browsing the catalogue, but peek below for a very extensive list, plus unedited previews 😃
credits go to @pierisim for the absolutely iconic ts4 meshes & textures, and to @hugelunatic for their incredibly helpful slots and repository tutorials! 🥰
they're also in a readme in the download, and shown in a collection file, but if you reallyyy want to see what you're downloading...

i would like to have a very special shoutout especially to rixon on the linus tech tips discord server, i've been having crashing issues with the PC my grandpa left me for months under weird circumstances and with their help we were able to narrow it down to a motherboard issue! now i can keep playing ts2 in 4k 😍
if there are any issues that you find with this set, please don't be afraid to let me know! happy simming, and when you download this, do keep in mind,
As requested by @jellymeduza I'm sharing my tweak of @dreadpirate's fabulous Maxis Match lighting mod. This makes the unlit rooms during dawn and dusk a bit brighter (closer to how they appear at nighttime) and tweaks the colour-cast a bit too. The photos above are all four time of day states including with my tweaks - but nothing about day or night was actually changed from the original MM lighting mod.
Below are all the before and after pictures for dawn/dusk next to each other - before is the MM lighting mod "out of the box" and after is with my tweaks.
How to install:
Download the Maxis Match lighting mod exactly as per dreadpirates instructions. (don't worry about the part on enabling or disabling dawn and dusk states, that will be included in my edit)
Replace your lighting.txt file with mine included in this download - this will be in your base game install folders, for the UC the file path is "Double Deluxe/Base/TSData/Res/Lights" and you'll be overwriting the lighting.txt file in there with mine.
Enjoy! :)

Edited to add: If you downloaded the Maxis Match lighting mod after March 2, 2025 these fixes are not required - @/veronavillequiltingbee has incorporated them into the main lighting mod files.

Do you want your sims to be able to refurbish a computer for your sim’s Business? How about just as a hobby for your sims who are mechanically inclined? Well the sims wardrobe had made this a while back, however it was for older versions and EPs of the game. I updated it for the UC, please give credit to the people at SW who made this originally. All I did was update it.
