A Kit for (Fake) Above Ground Pools

You may know the technique for raising a pool using the CFE cheat. See this post or this video. The wonky foundation stuff annoyed me. I ended up making "specialized" objects for it: -> A fence with the look of an above ground pool wall. -> Wall and floor coverings to match it. -> A tall ladder and diving board. The fence has two variations, with and without the half-circle pattern on the "external" side. I did my best to have it line up with the wall covering, but it's not perfect. The ladder and diving board are fully functional and animated. Though as you can see, there is some foot sliding, clipping, and snapping into place. Their target height is a pool raised by six clicks. They can be used with an unaltered one, but the snapping will be more obvious. Both are texture-repositoried to their Maxis equivalents. I included a simple set of recolours for those, seen in the first preview picture. Both ladder and diving board can be placed over fences and walls (by the water) without the MoveObjects cheat. However, placement may still be finicky. Place them directly on the ground. Make sure you have enough space for their full footprints, and that your pool water is flat. Thank you to Gayars for helping me test :) (Turns out pool stuff in general can be tricky. I received a request from @fluffyfluse for some conversions from ATS' Sims 4 daycare sets and this is what I was able to come up with.

The play house, the castle, the play town, the barn, and the rocket ship are cloned from a 4t2 dollhouse by TheRaven, which in turn was cloned from a play garage by Leefish @ MTS. It builds charisma as it is played with. There were no broken meshes for the Sims 4 sets, so when these are broken, they'll still appear whole.

The toy abacus is cloned from a similar abacus made for Sims 2 by Maylin @ MTS. It will build logic as it is played with.

The bells toy is cloned from a music toy also by ATS, and will build creativity as it is played with.

The screw toy and the blocks puzzle are cloned from a toy by Rebecah @ MTS and will build mechanical knowledge as played with.

(I think. I really didn't take good notes when working through these.)

The Playdough, the Playdough pot, the fingerpainting kit, and the slate chalkboard are all just deco. The small armchair wasn't requested, but I thought it was cute, so here we are. It is functional and is cloned from a toddler chair by Solfal @ TSR. Fair warning, the toddlers get on it sideways, like a potty (which is what I think it was initially cloned from), so there's obvious clipping when sitting/standing, but once on the chair, all is well.

All recolors are included, as are the texture images so you can pick and choose what you want to keep. Remember to discard the images before putting them in your downloads. Everything can be found in game in General > Kids.

🛒FLIRTYGHOUL'S MINIMART SET - 4T2 🛒

enjoy my lazy previews because i.... am dying... this took two 8 hour sittings probably...

here we have flirtyghoul's mini mart set all converted to ts2. this set is huge, with over like... 100 meshes lmao (i think anyways im just going by the files i counted since each thing has its own mesh. anyways

polycounts - range from the 100s to 3k, there isn't anything over 3k and the avg i'd say is 800 polys (the rounded meshes with multiple objects enters the 4 digits basically). the original polycounts were very high for some so expect some silly low poly bottles xd textures sizes - choose between 512px and 1024px. previews are taken with the larger sizes as the set is so pretty and detailed, but if you want to be on the safe side choose the set with the smaller sizes!

the original set came with some ads/wall hangings so for those i put the small ones onto aikea guinea's wallwriting and then i made a brand new addon that which is rotated clockwise, making room for bigger and longer ads. those meshes are all included too

i also learned how to edit slots so the freezer has 15 slots! u can press M in game to cycle thru each one. the freezer also comes in my palette for object recolours

huge thanks to pforestsims for giving me so much advice and responding to my endless queries.... i appreciate it sm. pforest also put together the ceiling lamp too which i am eternally grateful for!

everything is compressed, a lot of the stuff here has been repo'd as many things share the same textures, but have unique meshes (smth to do with the mapping as there are multiple things on each texture). lord crumps shadow file is required for the freezer and its included

I'm intrigued. But what's a zine?

For the sake of brevity, let's ask Britannica: Zine, a small-circulation print or online publication that is produced through noncommercial means and is meant to appeal to a niche audience. The term zine derives from fanzine, an amalgamation of the words fan and magazine.

How can I contribute?

There are a number of ways! From edits using any of the games, to digital art, writing and physical crafts, you can put your creative talent to use! The central theme is Sims 2 Nostalgia, so while you are given a lot of liberty on your chosen medium, it should feature the characters, townies, NPCs, or even objects from the pc game and its spin-offs!

We're so ready to welcome you on board! While we are planning on a big-scope project, we cannot predict the number territory of applications and thus haven't set a specific number of spots in stone. Glowy Dew's Skincare Functional for The Sims 2

I finally found out how to do an overlay box and managed to make this object. The original item is from the 4to2 Bathroom Kit by LordCrumps (I changed the guid so you can have both deco and functional version in your game, all recolors included), while masks and eye patches are from IcedMango and jsasimmer.

With this object your teen to elder, male and female, sims can apply 5 different kind of Face Masks and 2 Eye Patches. When they apply them, they perform the animation of the Zit Cream and the Comfort will increase. When they wash out the masks, the Hygiene motive will increase.

The object can be found in Plumbings-Miscellaneous section of Buy Mode. It costs 40 simoleon and every applied mask costs 20 simoleon.

There are 10 hobbies (cuisine, film & literature, tinkering, sports, music and dance, fitness, arts & crafts, science, games, and nature) and 18 interest categories (sci-fi, culture, environment, paranormal, health, fashion, politics, sports, school, animals, toys, money, entertainment, work, crime, food, travel, and weather).  Here are 50+ trait tokens featuring various sub-hobbies – these are meant to compliment the original hobby categories and let players assign specific hobby-related interests to their sims. The Sub-Hobby Project comes from the collective brainstorming of @grilledcheese-aspiration, @slyndseysims @gayars and @anachronisims. really cute and versatile set in some more realistic woods and my fave palette for woods. a before and after img under the cut.

the polys are pretty low (they're like 2k at most i blv). texture sizes for the wood is 1024px and the glass is 512px. all have working mipmaps.

i know the glass looks a little iffy but i had to manually separate the design from the transparency which took forever to get right so pls know i tried my best xd

also, im aware that the centre and the bookshelf have identical textures and i made recolours for them each, but i couldn't repository them in my usual method and i just dont have the patience for doing it manually, srry!
