Jews have a 6,000 year history of being more chill about gay people than (most) other religions. Jews overwhelmingly favour Queer rights in the diaspora, where Israeli law doesn’t affect us. Kabbalah regards Adam Kadmon, a genderless or multi-gendered being, as the first human, and says that their gender identity made them significantly more divine. Ancient Israeli laws documented in the Talmud make room for multiple different forms of intersex conditions.
But yeah Israel having a pretty good record on Queer rights is just because the Jews care desperately about our global image in the media. Israel having the biggest pride parade in Asia is exclusively a marketing tool that somehow convinces people to hate Palestinians. And clearly the Israeli government just handed down these Queer rights from on high to please the West. It’s not like normal Queer Israeli citizens have organized well-documented, long and difficult struggles against their government for equality and representation.

They have good reason to be scared of Hamas, the Houthis and Iran, regardless of if they’re Queer Jews or Queer Palestinians or Queer Bedu. And yet Queer Israelis were protesting Netanyahu’s government and policy decisions before October 7, and they continue to protest what’s happening in Gaza now. They should be the sort of people you look up to instead of the sort of people you dismiss offhand. They aren’t a PR stunt. They’re human fucking beings.

2. BOTH SIDES were given steps that they must take to insure that genocide doesn't happen. They must report back to the Hague on this in 30 days. Israel was already following the vast majority of those steps.
3. Hamas must release the hostages within 30 days.
4. Israel is under no obligation to accept ceasefire terms until the hostages are returned.
5. Israel is a sovereign nation with the right to defend itself.
Instead bullshit, bigoted, antisemitic, Jew hating liars are trying to say that Israel was found guilty of either genocide or some sort of halfway kind of genocide. There is no such legal term for a halfway genocide. A country is either guilty of genocide or it's not. Israel is not.

This is Ruth, a 16 years old teenager with physical and intellectual disability. Like many in her age, she liked to dance and meet new friends. Her dad, Arik, took her to parties and raves.

They were at the Nova festival during the Black Saturday of 07/10.
When the shooting started, Arik took Ruth in his arms, leaving behind her wheelchair, and ran for their lives. He refused to leave her behind.
The wheelchair was found burnt about a week ago, but there was no sign of Ruth and Arik.
We prayed for good news. For them to be found - wounded, kidnapped, but alive.
I got the news last night.
Their bodies were identified yesterday. They were buried today.
And I'm asking - you say it was done for freedom.
Yes, I remember the last time people with disabilities died for "freedom"

On this New Years, I really want to thank every non-Jewish ally who has stood up for us ever since October 7.
Every non-Jew who has posted in support of Jews on your blog, a comment in the replies of our posts, or even just a like. Every tiny gesture matters, because even the tiniest shows of support for us can get you a lot of backlash, and I know it has. You’ve gone out of your way to help us when you don’t have to, during a time when it’s costing you the most and when the whole world is vilifying you for it.
We will never forget who abandoned and betrayed us since October 7. But we will never forget who stepped up for us either; who protected us, who argued on our behalf when we were too traumatized and exhausted to do it ourselves.
Years from now when everyone will claim that they totally stood in solidarity with the Jews when it wasn’t cool, you’ll know that you actually did. And so will I.

In contrast, homosexuality is legal in Israel, Israel bans discrimination against gay people in employment or when providing goods or services. Israel provides the right to legally change your gender (being trans myself, this is important). Tel Aviv is one of the most pro-gay cities in the world.
Israel isn't perfect, they don't allow gay marriage to be performed on Israeli soil (though do recognise gay marriages performed overseas) & homophobia is still a societal issue there. But Hamas will kill you if they know you are LGBTQ. I choose Israel, f--k Hamas, I hope the IDF finishes them off this time.
