More dumb cross-fandom nerdery: D&D warforged with Culture ship names.
This site is not only full of deliberate disinformation and hoaxes, it’s rife with anti-intellectualism.
I encourage people to research anything that sounds fantastic and totally different than what they were taught - even in my posts.
If you see a blog post with startling information, do the CRAAP Test! (developed by Sarah Blakeslee and her team of librarians at California State University, Chico)
Currency: What is the copyright, publication, or posting date? Does the date matter? Is the information outdated?
Relevance: For what audience or level is the information written (general public, experts/scholars, etc.)?
Authority: Who is the author, creator, or publisher of the source or what organization is responsible for the source? How do you know if the author is an expert on the topic (e.g examine the author’s credentials and/or organizational affiliation)?
Accuracy: What indications do you see that the information is or is not well researched or provides sufficient evidence? What kind of language, imagery and/or tone is used (e.g. emotional, objective, professional, etc.)?
Purpose: Why was this source written (e.g.to inform, teach, entertain, persuade)? How might the author’s affiliation affect the point of view, slant, or potential bias of the source?

I’ve had this sitting around for ages without posting it. Here is my chain OC along with his notes
Sgt. Chapel
Tiefling Fighter
Background
Chapel is a lifer in the Chain. He has been in the Chain since before he had to shave. His mother found refuge from their extensive personal debts in Alloy by marriage to a retiring soldier. Though not a kind man Chapel’s new father taught him everything he knew about fighting. Every dirty trick , every easy scam and every story about the only people you could count on. Childhood was tough as he and his mother were the only tieflings in the village he grew up in. Having realized that there was precious little good will for a half devil child Chapel turned to petty theft and vandalism early on.
When he was a teenager his mother became gravely ill. He read the writing on the wall and in the eyes of his neighbours. He stripped the new thatch roof off the local church and then sold it to a travelling merchant. Chapel used the proceeds to make his own way eventually finding the Chain.
Chapel has found a peace of sorts and now he lives his life for his comrades. He used to have side businesses going while the Chain was in any given place. A habit he learned from his adopted father. But he has long since given up on a life outside the Chain.
While in Alloy Chapel settled a few old scores with some Chain buddies.
Appearance
A big powerfully built tiefling with a mischievous crooked grin. His jaw has been broken and reset slightly off. His left eye socket is covered with an eye patch. His horns are covered in recent sword and claw marks from the escape from Blackbottom. He’s missing parts of several fingers.
Personality Traits
Loyal
Indulgent
Tribal
Ideals
Be direct but be prepared to win before the fight
Win if you can, lose if you must but always cheat
Bonds
I would die for the Chain
The Chain are the only family I have
I always have time for my family
Flaws
I can’t make a life for myself anywhere else
I don’t want to be an officer
Mark (not his real name)
a new recruit, a Riojan man with messy short-ish black hair and a close cropped beard, seems to be in his late 30s. He is an excellent archer and not bad swordsman either. He loves to play cards and other gambling games with the rest of the helltroopers (though he mostly loses); though hes a pretty calm guy and takes his losses in stride. He spends a lot of time learning and practicing chain sign, and seems to be picking it up quickly. He can read pretty well although he mostly cares about books on Caelian engineering, architecture, and warfare. It’s clear to the other members that he has served in some military capacity previously based on how he carries himself (and sometimes slips up and give the Riojan salute) but never brings it up-that life is gone now. He doesn’t talk much outside of the increasingly frequent use of chain sign and other simple gestures and emoting.
Hes joined up with a mercenary company because part of him missed service and the opportunity for gold; and the chain specifically because chain sign and the chronicle were a great interest to him.
Were he to be a player character he would be a human fighter (probably battlemaster) with the solider background
Welcome to the space age, ladies and gentlemen
quick (very) messy sketches of the clay family before i go to bed bc these firbolgs own my heart now :’)
Lesbians still making posts about how bad it is for bi women to use butch/femme: We know! We heard u! We’re trying to make our own terms and have them used widespread but we need to get the WORD out for them to be commonplace and that’s hard when literally nobody but bis reblog posts talking about bisexuals lol! It’s not like we all follow each other. At this point the only people trying to take ur terms from you are lesphobes or young bi girls who straight up don’t realize they aren’t generic wlw terms because they haven’t learned the history bc literally no one is out here trying to include and teach bisexual kids shit about their gay lineage, everyone’s too busy trying to push it under the rug.
bi equivalent of femme: doe bi equivalent of butch: stag
There are more for nb bis and such you can look into but there’s the basics! Look I’ve even designed flags you can find if you scroll through this tag! (i didnt come up with the terms)
I don’ think this is true in any way shape or form, but I thought it was funny.
