Oh yeah, he is well aware that his face card never declines, he's got enough stories from the academy (and onward) to back that up
Its just that uh, he's pretty sure he's maxxed out his personality card and that it will, in fact, decline
of course I think Kallus has many insecurities but I DO think he knows he's pretty. I think he knows that people who are attracted to male humans tend to find him hot and I don't think he would look in a mirror and disagree with that.
and while he wouldn't be so sure how he might fit into Lasat beauty standards, I don't think he'd actually find it too surprising that Zeb considers him physically attractive. (it's just, y'know, the rest of him as a person he might struggle to believe Zeb likes or wants.)
I do appreciate Kallus's realization that he actually is very wrong in how he approached things. That all the Imperials Zeb has met have tried to kill him, and thus can be judged the same. That's when Kallus's mind changes, imo. When he offers to hold Zeb's bo-rifle without the intent to kill him.
He's determined to prove to Zeb that not all Imperials are bad, and consequently ends up not remaining an Imperial lol.
I like to think that Kallus' behavior post redemption does a full 360°. Hear me out- as he becomes more comfortable being allowed to show "weakness" in form of empathy and general emotions he starts to have a softer approach to social interactions, especially with the Ghost Crew. But as he gains their trust more and they all grow more comfortable with him being around + he becomes more comfortable being around and not constantly feeling like an imposter, he starts to behave in a way that some might mistake for an emotional set-back. He's less gentle with his responses, making snide remarks here and there in addition to getting into a verbal spat with someone from the Ghost Crew every five minutes.
The thing is, at his core, Kallus is soft, gentle and caring - he is however also a bitch who will gloat when he wins an argument, be super petty during family game nights and laugh with genuine amusement when his loved ones do something - frankly - really fucking stupid.
If i see one more drawing where Kallus' waist is smaller than his head i am going to commit an actual crime
The most important thing about zeb is that he can never be too fluffy
get you a man who despite his literal decades of practice repressing and hiding his emotions to survive physically cannot hide how smitten he is with you
Iām posting this late at night because Iām conflict avoidant but Iāve seen people say that kallus āall lives matterā-s Zeb on Barhyn (which somehow convinces Zeb and also endorses that message) which is just???? Completely incorrect?
kallus says something along the lines of ādoes that rule apply to imperialsā when Zeb says that the empire views the rebels as a monolith. Zeb immediately claps back with āall the imperials I knowā. Zeb doesnāt fall for that shit, because heās right: all imps are the same. You chose to be an imp and you chose to be a monster. More importantly: Kallus is still a bad guy, and heās wrong for believing that.
Kallus fucking defects. Like lads, this should be obvious. He realizes that heās wrong too! The only good imp is a dead imp! He canāt be a good person and an imperial so he defects as soon as he realizes heās a monster. He even goes the extra mile of becoming a spy: he could have cut lose and run or tried to be a āgood impā but he doesnāt. There are no good imperials.
No oneās operating procedure changes. Zeb doesnāt go easier on stormtroopers because he got convinced that you canāt treat them all as a monolith. When Kallus joins the rebellion he doesnāt do that either.
thatās all Jules has to say. If you need me Iāll be hiding away in a hole š
