what is beyond what we cannot see but can feel? life is more than just plans, love is more than just an emotion, death is more than just the end, what I believe in is more than just an illusion.

No, actually we're just good friends. Sure
"‘John always used to say,’ Yoko told me at one point, ‘that no one ever hurt him the way Paul hurt him.’ The words suggested a far deeper emotional attachment between the two than the world ever suspected - they were like those of a spurned lover." -Philip Norman
"No matter how much he loved Yoko, the Gibraltar ceremony seems like something close to an on-the-rebound reaction to the loss of his first great love, Paul McCartney." -Chris Salewicz
"Almost in each other’s face, John and Paul quickly gained an unusual closeness, little or nothing hidden. Paul noticed that ‘John had beautiful hands." -Mark Lewisohn
"With Yoko present, Paul McCartney’s reign as Lennon’s princess was doomed.” -Peter McCabe
"John's in love with Yoko," Paul confessed to a reporter from the 'Evening Standard', "and he's no longer in love with the three of us." But for all intents and purposes, he might as well have been talking about himself." -Bob Spitz
'I thought Paul's was rubbish,' opined Lennon, saying that he preferred George's All Things Must Pass. McCartney studied the article with the morbid fascination of a jilted lover receiving a kiss-off letter. -Howard Sounes
“Lennon could have abandoned the (US) immigration case and returned to Britain, and possibly even to McCartney, but that would have meant accepting that his relationship with Ono was over.”-Peter Dooget
"Theirs was a volatile relationship right up to the end, and was fraught with emotional summits and valleys. While the connection between them was strictly heterosexual, it was deep, passionate, and highly explosive." -Geoffrey Giuliano
"John was insecure, and when he saw Paul he wanted to look cool. He gave up all his friends for Paul. Aunt Mimi recalled that John jumped around the kitchen when he told her about his new friend. She sarcastically said to John that they were like ‘chalk and cheese’ meaning how different they were. And John would start hurling himself around the room shouting ‘Chalk and Cheese!'’ smiling and laughing. He was fucking in love with him, he adored him. She understood he found the partner of his life.“ -Thomas Rhodes
“The last week in August, Paul McCartney returned to Liverpool, tanned and noticeably slimmer. In addition to starting school, he came back to begin a relationship he seemed destined for: hooking up with John Lennon." -Bob spitz
“Seeing Lennon focus on Ono rather than him [Paul] was as devastating as it would have been for Cynthia Lennon to witness the couple making love.” -Peter Dogget

1970s-1990s critics of paul mccartney are so funny in retrospect its like.
paul mccartney is too musically diverse and its a bad thing, actually . why is paul mccartney so relentlessly inventive . there goes paul mccartney again, trying something new and fresh and not settling into the same sound! how uncool. musical creativity is inauthentic, actually. why are his melodies good? what is he, a POP singer ?? isn't it suspicious that he is just So Pretty. his eyelashes are too long, clear signs of a vapid manipulator. also here are some dick words. INFERTILE. IMPOTENT haha. ha. amirite. so not rock.... pls get back together w john.....

“MANSFIELD: But, you know, [after John showed me the pictures of himself and Yoko nude for the album cover of Two Virgins], I asked Paul about this. And this, to me, is indicative of their relationship, maybe as much as anything I [had] ever heard. I said, “Paul, you know, what do you think about this?” And Paul says, “I don’t know.” He said, “I don’t really agree with John. But I just am going to figure that John’s ahead of me on this, and that someday I’ll understand and I’ll catch up. So, you know, I’m okay.” ROSEN: And what did that reaction tell you about their relationship? MANSFIELD: That it was an extremely deep relationship. And you know, you couple that with the thing Paul told me about, you know, when I asked him how come John’s name was on ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ when I was there when he was writing it and John wasn’t. These two comments from Paul showed me what their – how deep their relationship was. ROSEN: What did he say on that occasion, about ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’? MANSFIELD: Okay. On ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ […] I was in the hotel room, the bungalow with Paul [in L.A.]. And that night, when we were – he was working on some songs, and he included me on the writing, you know, just ‘cause I was there. He said, “What do you think of this?” And I’d say, “Well, why don’t you try this?” And the songs were ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ and ‘[Back In The] U.S.S.R.’ And that was all. It was very casual. I drive home that night, and I’m going: “Wait a minute! Was I – was I songwriting with Paul McCartney? Wow, that’s pretty cool!” Well, you know, the record comes out, and it’s Lennon and McCartney. And I didn’t expect it to be Mansfield-McCartney. But I asked Paul, I said, “You know, I was there with you when you were writing this, and John wasn’t. And yet it’s a Lennon-McCartney.” And Paul said: “John and I are so close to each other, we’ve been through so much together, we understand each other so much, our relationship is so deep, that when we’re songwriting,” he said, “even if I’m 6,000 miles away, I can be working on something and I can hear John over my shoulder going, ‘No, no, no, that’s not gonna work; why don’t we do this?’ Or ‘Hey, I like this.’” He said, “So, in essence, to me, we’re songwriting together even if we’re not together.” ROSEN: Hmm! MANSFIELD: Now do you see something between those two comments about how their relationship, how it was very—? Even when I think they were at their furthest away from each other, I think there was something, a strong connection between those two people.”
— Ken Mansfield (record label executive and Apple Records U.S. manager), interview w/ James Rosen for Fox News. (December 4th-5th, 2007)

if we can't be lovers we'll never be friends :p
"Fans who believe in mclennon are so annoying and delusional like not everything Paul makes is about John" well maybe Paul should stop injecting John into every conversation and every interview and every afterthought and then maybe just maybe I'll agree as a tinhat mclennoner but until then most songs Paul has written are about John, or especially their relationship, or are just awfully suspect.
