all I want is to have a room that looks like I'm old biology professor whose been away from human civilization for half a century in the forest who spends my evenings reading old books researching about cryptids with my cat surrounded by my many treasures and trinkets I've collected over the years and my many, many growing plants that nearly take over all of my house.
"oh sorry, i guess i was infodumping again" - sad, shy, apologetic
"you sly dog, you got me monologuing" - cool, strong, confident
ok so i just had A Thought.
how would the s1 characters react to their s2 selves?
like, tommy expects to see this warrior, wilbur's right hand man, confident, strong, brave... and instead he finds this broken shell of a boy, talking about how the only person who actually really cares for them is their own worst enemy.
tubbo doesn't really expect much. he never really changed, not as much as his friends. but instead of the usual awkward, friendly boy he expected, he finds a tired president, who misses his best friend, and is covered in burn scars from something awful that he doesn't want to talk about.
wilbur has the highest hopes, curious on how he did, how well he'd run the country. he wants to ask questions, ask how his family is. instead, he meets his ghost. a spirit who refuses to admit he's done wrong. wilbur seeks out future tommy for answers, only to get screamed at to get out.
fundy wasn't sure what he'd expected. he was worried he'd have faded into nothingness with his father's constant babying, and getting brushed to the side but... he seemed more vibrant than ever. angrier, sure, but also more confident, smiling at his younger self with so much genuine happiness that he felt his eyes water.
eret assumed they'd be more regal than this. they'd have a crown, and a gown, and a throne. instead, they wore stained jeans and a sweatshirt. "did we lose. were we caught?" "no. we just decided some things are worth more than a crown."

Not me sitting around waiting for a bunch of minecraft players to go to war for more writing inspiration
while i know we all love to analyze the dream smp’s good parts and bad parts (myself included), i think we all also gotta realize that this isn’t some highly-funded television program that can get everything perfect. sure, we can be irked by certain aspects that don’t tie in well with the plot, but this is literally minecraft improv. it would be expected that there would be some flaws present.
it’s okay to care deeply about plot and lore, but let’s remember that this is all for fun too! we shouldn’t be too angry if something displeases us. take the dream smp with a grain of salt, and don’t forget to have fun while watching the streams!!
Love these dogs so much
I feel like a lot of people don’t know that the Badlands was founded so that its members could protect themselves from griefing, theft, and war. The Badlands wanted the General smp to be chaos so that they could declare their independence without anyone being able to start another war about it. Underhanded? Sure. But Schlatt and Dream were the powers of the server at the time so Bad, Ant, And Sam (technically Skeppy) really had to be if they wanted their safety assured. Also importantly, Sam was just as “power hungry” as you all claim Bad and Ant were.
They were willing to be morally grey to assure that they and any future faction members would be free and safe. They coordinated side flips mid battle during both halves of the fighting on November 16th. They wanted Eret to join so they’d control both entrances into the Badlands through his castle. And they opposed George’s kingship because of it.
The Badlands wanted security on a server that was constantly at war so they had to be a little underhanded about it. The quote unquote good guys launtched a coup against an elected official on top of blatantly using their strongest ally until he realized that and turned against them. And Dream and Schlatt were worse than them with public executions and apparently hiding the secret to resurrection. So please tell me about playing two sides that from the outside both sounded awful was worse.
