I feel like a lot of people don’t know that the Badlands was founded so that its members could protect themselves from griefing, theft, and war. The Badlands wanted the General smp to be chaos so that they could declare their independence without anyone being able to start another war about it. Underhanded? Sure. But Schlatt and Dream were the powers of the server at the time so Bad, Ant, And Sam (technically Skeppy) really had to be if they wanted their safety assured. Also importantly, Sam was just as “power hungry” as you all claim Bad and Ant were.
They were willing to be morally grey to assure that they and any future faction members would be free and safe. They coordinated side flips mid battle during both halves of the fighting on November 16th. They wanted Eret to join so they’d control both entrances into the Badlands through his castle. And they opposed George’s kingship because of it.
The Badlands wanted security on a server that was constantly at war so they had to be a little underhanded about it. The quote unquote good guys launtched a coup against an elected official on top of blatantly using their strongest ally until he realized that and turned against them. And Dream and Schlatt were worse than them with public executions and apparently hiding the secret to resurrection. So please tell me about playing two sides that from the outside both sounded awful was worse.
wilbur and tommy, in every goddamn SMP: Ah Fuck, We've Manipulated People Into Believing An Ideology
First encounter with Death / Last encounter with Death

Orpheus, the lover boy
what’s it called when you’re so disconnected from reality that cold water doesn’t feel like anything and you can barely taste food anymore
I hope I'm not just a blog to you guys but also a gateway to acquire secondhand knowledge of medias you'll never get into
can i just say that dream did amazing with the script and just general acting for the finale.
punz confirmed that dream wrote almost the whole finale script by himself and the way that he kept the plot going for an hour straight was incredible. he told a story, and the finale storyline alone was so good, that i believe that even a new viewer would be hooked from this one “episode” personally, i feel that this might be my favorite episode of all time just due to the fact that it was so nicely paced and he obviously put a lot of thought into the time frame for stuff.
something i actually prefer about dream’s writing is that he tends to try and include every single person on the smp who wants in on the script. i think in this episode especially, incorporating items from many members on the smp gives them all a chance to be in the lore if they want to take it. with the entrance of everyone after punz, i feel that it was more tasteful (?) than large group events have been in the past because it didn’t feel like they were just kinda there, but that they were all their for a purpose.
and his acting. jesus christ he’s a good villain and his voice acting has gotten so much better. we’re used to him being a sort of emotionless, egotistical character, so to have his character either fake nerves and worry, was super cool to see. he does a really good job conveying his character through other people, and he does it all with only his voice.
yes, this is just me ranting about how cool i think dream is idk
incomplete list of quotes that sound like they’re from classics but are instead from minecraft roleplay:
“Independence or death. If we get no revolution, then we want nothing.”
“The thing about this world is that the only universal language is violence, and we’ve had that conversation.”
“This isn’t the right thing to do. This isn’t the moral thing to do. What’s the point in doing anything if you’ve lost all hope?”
“Please remember that I’ve gotten everything taken away from me, and you know what they say about a woman that has nothing to lose.”
“This is the last moment for Judas to reveal themselves. Who’s the traitor?”
“However, I am questioning my own stand in this war. Am I on the right side? There is no true answer to the question, and it can only be told by time.”
(feel free to add on-)
fear not! i have spent several days and a few all-nighters making this carrd that includes almost every plot-relevant stream i could remember, and organized them in chronological order by arc as clearly as possible!
it includes season one, the current season (up till yesterday), l'cast, dreamon hunters, and tales from the smp! i also wrote a little bit of a background info section about characters you’re expected to know about before they show up.
PLEASE use it because i worked so hard on it!
happy watching!
((also, please let me know if anything is scuffed or left out, and i will make the changes))
