Hello Everyone,

I am Momen Al Madhoun, 35 years old, a graphic design from gaza, my wife Nour Al Madhoun 30 years old, a computer engineer, We are two self-made people united by a love of work, ambition, and self-development. We used to work remotely in programming and design. We had a cozy home that we built hand by hand, stone by stone.

Ezzdeen my big son was 7 when the war started now he is 8 years old and suffering from huge weight loss because he is very picky in his food, we try to buy him the food he accept but it is hard in our situations, Ameer my little son was 5 and now he is 6, he supposed to be at his first year at school now but what he forced to live is very diffirent!

Today after a whole year of displacement and the harsh suffering we are still living in this genocide in Gaza.

After our many attempts to survive, we actually survived, but it was only the survival of the body, the soul and the psychological health for me, my husband and my two children did not survive! Even the body survived apparently, but it is very weak due to the famine and the suffering in obtaining food and drink.

As the conflict escalates, our access to food, clean water, and basic necessities has dwindled. Everyday here is like a battle, not just with death surrounding us everywhere, but against huner and despair.

Today, after more than a year of living under the genocide, losing everything in our lives. More than a year of patience on famine and suffering and trying to overcome difficulties to survive, A whole year full of WHERE DO WE GO? what is our fault? what is our kids fault?

We are exhausted and need your help, I came to you today after all this patience with a heavy heart, asking for help! My family needs your help to survive

Why am I doing this?

Well, I’d like to tell you it’s because I love making art and writing – and I do! But the simple reason is: I have a whole list of physical and psychological ailments as well as a few personal responsibilities to my family (like helping take care of my bed-ridden grandmother 24/7) that prevent me from working a normal 9-5 job.

I live in a low-income household, and I’d love to be able to help my family out any way that I can. The financial situation of my household can be…Incredibly stressful, to say the least.

I’d appreciate if you could share this and spread it around, even if you can’t or don’t want to commission me personally. I have a very small following and can’t reach as many people as I’d like to. Please help me out.

Either you support mental health or you don't. Don't pick and choose because someone has a disorder that is defined by its difficulty in controlling emotional outbursts and difficulty relating to other people. When someone tells you they have one of these disorders, they're not "manipulating" or "gaslighting" you. They are trying to explain that they have a disorder that is specifically making it difficult to contain their emotions.

"But your illness isn't an excuse..."

No. Stop. Just fucking stop with that line of thinking. You think I don't know that? You think that I don't try my damnedest every fucking day to contain my fits of rage and random bouts of crying? It's called a DISORDER for a reason. It's tiring. It's difficult. It's full of people you care about make comments like "it's like walking on eggshells around you" like no shit dude that is literally why I have this diagnosis.

I have lost so many friendships, had people I cared about called me an asshole, and had people outright refuse to hear me out because my BPD showed itself. They just decided I was being an evil person just because and cut off contact entirely because I couldn't be "normal" for them. I have had people deliberately provoke an episode in me because it would make me look like the villain and not them, even after withdrawing from the situation so I could get my emotions under control. They fucking followed me to keep provoking my BPD because they knew it would cause me to escalate into instability.

If you only support the easily manageable, low visibility mental health disorders, then you don't really support mental health at all. We aren't evil. We are just people who are too fucking tired from containing our emotions so we wouldn't explode at work or school. And some people go out of their way to instigate us so they have a "bad guy" to point out as "problematic".

I'm so tired of being lonely because of this horrible disorder. I absolutely wish I could be normal. But I'm not. I can take my meds religiously and attend every therapy session and I will still have an episode if my stress is high enough. Don't fucking tell me that I'm not trying because I am.
