“Sirius, Regulus, could you come here for a second?”

Sirius looked up from where he was sat in the Lupin’s living room, on the couch with a cup of coffee and a photo album Hope had handed him. Remus, Julian, and Lyall had gone to get the family Christmas tree- something Julian had been very excited about- leaving himself and Regulus alone in the house with Remus’ mom. She was standing in the arched walkway that lead to the kitchen, and was glancing expectantly at the both of him. Regulus bookmarked his page and gingery set the novel down.

“Yeah, Mrs. Lupin?” he asked.

She waved her hand at him. “I told you to stop calling me that, honey. Hope is fine.” She jerked her head. “This way, come on. I need to watch my cakes, so may you please both come to the kitchen?”

It was still weird for the both of them, Sirius thought, to be asked to do things instead of told to do them. Sometimes there was that element, in the way Hope had firmly told Remus and Julian to shovel the snow that morning, but always with a layer of humor and love behind it. They always had a choice in everything, and Hope would never make them do things they never truly were comfortable doing. Remus and Julian were definitely capable, and even liked, shoveling snow- they’d just been a bit lazy and had protested doing it. But Hope had just raised her eyebrows at them, and sure enough, forty-five minutes later they had returned jostling one another, Julian stuffing a massive snowball down Remus’ back. Sirius had watched Regulus’ eyes follow them and was sure the same look was plastered on his own face; laughter had never really been all that common in their household.

They both stood and followed Hope into the kitchen, where she was monitoring what looked like some ginger cakes for the town Christmas dinner food drive she was donating to later that evening. She peeked into the oven, nodded in satisfaction, and then turned to them with a smile on her face. “Now,” she said. “I have a surprise for you.”

“Quoi?” Sirius asked. He and Regulus wore matching confused expressions. “You do?”

“Mmhm,” she said, as though it was obvious. She pointed to two boxes on the counter. Their names were written on little tags in cursive on the top. “Those are for you, dears.”

“Oh,” Regulus said. He looked a little out of place. “Thank you.”

“Go on, open them, I’m excited.”

Tentatively, they both reached for their respective boxes and lifted the lids. Inside each of them was a round wooden ornament with a red ribbon running through the top. And engraved in the otherwise flat surface was-

“The Leo constellation?”

“Canis Major?”

Regulus and Sirius both looked at each other simultaneously, realization dawning, and then at Hope.

“Oh,” Sirius said. “That’s us.”

“You’re right, sweetheart,” Hope answered gently. She leaned onto the counter on her forearms. “Every year, Re and Jules get a new ornament to decorate the Christmas tree with, and there’s a theme every year. I got you each one of those kind this year, too, but I figured you needed some to start with. Re and Jules each got ones carved with their birth flower when they were born, and I thought- well, I thought that your constellations would fit you. The brightest star in the sky, and the heart of the Lion, yes?”

“Yeah,” Regulus said. His voice was soft and his face red, but he looked Hope right in the eye. “Thank you. Thank you.”

And in a fashion very unlike himself, he walked around the counter and straight into Hope’s arms.

“Oh,” Hope laughed, surprised, but she squeezed him tightly back. “Oh, you’re welcome, honey. You’re so welcome.”

Sirius watched his brother, his not-so-baby brother, fold himself, perhaps for the first time, in a loving mother’s embrace, and he wanted to cry. He wanted to hug Regulus, to hug Hope, to hug Lyall and Julian and Remus. He wanted to be a part of this family forever, wanted to take Reg with him. When Hope and Regulus parted, he didn’t know what he must have looked like, but when Hope came around the counter all he could do was fall into her arms. He was much taller and weighed more, but she somehow made him feel tiny and precious in her embrace.

“Thank you,” he whispered. “Thank you, this means so much. You have no idea.”

“No, I don’t,” she replied, frank as always. “But I hope you never will have to have any idea ever again.”

Sirius squeezed her tight and caught his brother’s eye over her shoulder. Regulus nodded, a small, tiny thing, and he knew: this was what a forever home felt like.

since you loved the first hogwarts au prompt, can i ask for more???? take your time ofc !!🤍

This is a little drabble I've had sitting in my drafts for a while now! It's in the same realm as the last Hogwarts one I did. If it's not what you're looking for, or if you have a different/more specific vision for a prompt, please please please write me another ask! I want to do your ideas justice. :)

Enjoy some long-distance Cubs in the mountains of beautiful Eryri!

TW: alluded to nefarious activities, but nothing explicit!

P.S.: I am making assumptions on the kinds of spells and magic stuff they have. It's been AGES since I read HP, because She Who Must Not Be Named is a TERF and we #donotlikeher, so I just took some liberty on the few times magic is explicitly referenced.

Logan took a satisfied breath in, feeling as his bare chest brushed Finn’s above him. The light shining through their bedroom window was as warm as the afterglow. He sighed, nudging his nose into Finn’s hair to breath in his scent. He smelled like a mix of himself, sweat- and Leo’s cologne, Logan realized. He must have sprayed some on himself before his apprenticeship that morning.

“Fuck,” Finn said with a laugh. He let go of Logan's wrists and wrapped him up. “Fuck, how is it always so good?”

Logan brought their mouths together sloppily again with a hum. “Je t'aime.”

Finn kissed him harder, turning them on their sides and relaxing into the mattress. They made out lazily, just feeling each other's skin, until Finn pulled back to press a kiss to his temple.

“I love you.” He tucked his face into Logan’s neck. “Cleaning charm or shower?”

Logan snorted. “Leo would want us to shower.”

Finn smiled into his skin. “Mm, yeah. He looks so good in the shower.”

“Ouais, so tall. Like a god.”

“Ugh, he's so sexy.” Finn rolled over to squish Logan into the mattress. “You're both so sexy. What am I supposed to do?”

Logan laughed. “You poor thing,” he mocked in Finn’s accent.

Finn huffed, giving Logan one more hard kiss before standing. He held out his hand. “Shower? Then we call Leo.”

Logan took it and followed Finn to the bathroom. Their Muggle flat in Derby was a bit old, and the pipes didn't always heat the water up fully, but Logan loved it more than he could say. Today, luckily, the water was nice and warm, and Logan reveled in getting to run his hand through Finn's thick, shampooed waves. He had been growing it out since October, and Leo and Logan couldn't get enough of it. Logan had watched as Leo stepped off the Hogwarts Express at Christmas with wide eyes, hands immediately carding through Finn's hair.

What's this, O'Hara?

Finn had smirked. What, you don't like it?

Leo had tugged at the strands, forcing Finn to look up and make a noise that was not appropriate for a train station. What do you think? Then he'd kissed Finn, then Logan, so hard that it made them dizzy.

Safe to say, sitting through dinner with Leo's parents that evening had been a monumental task.

“What’re you thinking about, baby?”

Logan shook out of his reverie. “You. Your hair. Leo.” Logan sighed, closing his eyes and imagining blond curls. “His hair.”

“He does have nice hair.”

“So do you.”

“So do you.” Finn threaded his fingers to scratch at Logan's scalp. “All dark and thick.” He kissed Logan's forehead. “It's getting curlier, now that it's longer.”

Logan hummed, leaning into Finn's body. “Wonder what Leo's hair looks like.”

Finn snorted. “You know what it looks like. We called him the other day.”

Logan grunted. “It's different in person.”

Finn sighed. “I know, baby. I know.” He leaned back. “Let’s finish here, then call him, yeah? He's probably almost done with his homework for the evening.”

Logan washed Finn's body reverently, taking time to massage his shoulders and upper back where he got sore. He was rewarded with soft kisses to his forehead, his collarbone, his cheek. Logan missed being at Hogwarts, missed being with his friends every day, but he'd be lying if he said he didn't also love this domestic bliss he lived in now. He loved not having to sneak into Finn or Leo's bed, he loved being able to bathe together like this. Most of all, he loved coming home to a place that was theirs, that they made together, that encompassed the bed, and the bathing, and everything else. He saw himself in the Quidditch magazines lying around the house, Finn in the books piled everywhere- even Leo, though he didn’t live there yet, with the perfectly knitted blanket from his farm in Wales that had a permanent residence on the couch.

Logan sighed, staring at that blanket while Finn made them both dinner (egg sandwiches, the way Leo taught them), sat at a stool by the counter with his evening tea. He stretched his legs, sore from practice, and turned to Finn. “Fish?”

Finn hummed, handing him a plate with his sandwich. “Yeah?”

“I miss him.”

Finn looked up at that, sandwich halfway to his mouth. “Le?”

“Ouais.” Logan sighed again, picking up his own sandwich. “It just doesn't feel like home.”

Finn furrowed his eyebrows. “What do you mean?”

Logan shrugged as he swallowed. “Je ne sais pas. It just- it is ours, and I love living here with you, and it is home. Home is with you.” Logan pursed his lips. “But it's also with Leo.”

Finn nodded in understanding. “I know. I know, baby, it doesn't- it's like it's home, but not a complete one.”

“Exactly,” Logan said. “It's not complete without both of you.”

Finn finished off his dinner, then came to wrap Logan in a hug. “Only a few more days until he comes home for Easter, then he graduates in May. Then he's all ours forever, okay, baby?”

“Mais, he is all ours. You're mine, too.”

Finn smiled into his hair. “Yes, we are all yours, you greedy thing.” He kissed Logan's head. “C'mon. I need a dose of sunshine.”

Leo picked up his two-way mirror on the first vibration they sent through. He looked tired, a little stressed, but his smile was wide when he saw them. “Hi, fy nghariadau. You okay?”

“Hi, love,” Finn said. He touched his thumb to the edge of the mirror. “We're alright. Just wanted to see your pretty face once more before you come home.”

Leo scrunched his nose at them. “You're sweet.”

“Non, you are.” Logan groaned, flopping onto Finn's chest. “Soleil, ici. Come back.”

That made Leo blush, his crystal blue eyes standing out against his red cheeks. “I'm trying, honey,” he said. “I've got to do one last thing for Potions, and-

“I hope this is an actual assignment and not some extra experiment that's going to get you blown up,” Finn interrupted with a raised eyebrow. “Because I prefer your whole body, not pieces of it.”

If possible, Leo turned even redder. “It is assigned, I'll have you know.”

“Get it done faster,” Logan said. “I miss you.”

“We.”

“Ouais, that's what I meant.”

Finn rolled his eyes fondly, but turned back to the mirror. “We are suffering from a sunshine deficiency.”

Leo, who was now distracted by something, presumably a book, just quirked an eyebrow. “A vitamin D deficiency? But it's spring now, go outside.”

Logan scoffed. “Non, soleil. Toi.”

Finn put a hand over Logan's head. “You, sunshine. We have a you deficiency.”

“Soleil, come back,” Logan whined again, frustrated. He patted the couch cushions hard. “Allez.”

Leo sighed, looking up from his book. He looked mildly irritated at having been interrupted, but he softened immediately upon seeing their faces. He spoke to Logan. “Oh, cariad, don’t look at me with those eyes.”

Finn laughed. He tapped Logan on the hip a few times. “Don't make him feel guilty for studying.”

“But it keeps him away from us.”

Leo scoffed and waved a piece of parchment at them. “Not everyone can just get by on muscles and Quidditch skills for their career, Lo.”

“Ouais, you could.”

“Yeah, Le, I already told you. Best Keeper Ravenclaw has seen.”

Leo pointed his finger at him. “And I told you that you're biased.” He straightened his posture. “Now, I've got to write six more inches of this Arithmancy essay. I love you, I love your voices, now be my soundtrack so I can concentrate.” He turned his devastating eyes at them. Logan felt his heart kick. “Tell me about your day.”

Beddgelert, March 2016

Leo sighed, savoring the last bite of his mother's lamb cawl, heating him up from the inside as the last dregs of the Eryri winter faded away. They didn't have anymore snow, but the chill was still there. His Raynaud's flared up frequently in the drafty halls of Hogwarts. He was grateful to be in his kitchen at home; it was warm from the oven and his mother's cooking.

“Diolch, mam,” he said, turning to look at his mother. It felt like a relief to speak his native language. “It was really good.”

She kissed his forehead and poured herself some more wine. She gave him a wink. “Of course, honey. I'll have to make it again when those boys of yours arrive.”

His father laughed. “Might need to make a double batch. Logan always eats us out of house and home.”

Leo smiled. “Don't tell him that, he'll get embarrassed.” He rested his chin on his hand. “Are you sure you're okay with them staying here for a few days? I know it'll be a lot, what with the family Easter party on Sunday.”

Eloise shook her head. “They’re welcome, as long as they help.” She came over to give him a hug and pressed a kiss to his curls. “Besides, I missed my boy. And I did have you first.”

Leo laughed, giving her a kiss on the cheek before beginning to clear the table. He had missed her and his dad, too, and the mountains and the farm. He had missed the way his parents spoke Welsh, the lilt of their vowels and their familiar accents. They hadn’t forced him to come home; he had actually suggested it. He wanted to spend a few days in Beddgelert before going to Finn and Logan’s (and his, he guessed) apartment in Derby. They were due to arrive the following evening after Logan’s practice and Finn’s last day of his apprenticeship before his own Easter break. They were excited to come celebrate with Leo’s extended family- Finn said he had bought a special ‘Easter shirt’ at the charity shop the other day.

I want to look proper spiffy for your family, sunshine, he had said. Gotta make a good first impression.

Leo smiled to himself at the memory, handing the last plate to be dried to his dad. Together, they wiped down the counters and stove. Leo couldn't wait for the kitchen to be filled with the smell of bara brith and Welsh cakes and more lamb and roasted vegetables over the next few days. He loved the Hogwarts meals, but he did miss being able to cook his own food. He perused the cabinets, looking for a packet of digestives, his favorite biscuits, when there was a whooshing sound of someone coming through the fireplace.

“Mam!” he called. “Did you invite Effie over?”

Effie Potter and Eloise had become fast friends when they had been invited to the Potter’s annual New Years Eve party. James and Monty had helped them set up the Floo in the Knut's fireplace, and Effie and Eloise now often had a post-dinner tea (or drink, depending on the mood). There was another whooshing sound, and Leo furrowed his brow.

“Hello?” he said, creeping slowly into the living room. The sight in front of him stopped him in his tracks. He let out a joyful laugh.

“Salut.”

“Hi, sunshine.”

Leo leaned against the doorway, smiling. “Hi.”

Logan, who was bouncing on his toes, couldn't seem to hold back anymore. He dropped his bag and ran forward right into Leo's arms. Leo wrapped him up close, slouching down to tuck his face into Logan's hair. “Hi, cariad. Hi.”

He opened an arm for Finn to tuck in against them. Finn reached a palm to cup Leo's cheek and kiss him. “Surprise, baby.”

Leo grinned against Finn's mouth. “The best surprise.” He pulled back, tightening his arm around Finn's waist. “I thought you wouldn't be here until tomorrow.”

“Logan’s last practice was actually today, as well as my last day before break.” Finn winced. “Sorry we lied.”

Leo kissed his temple. “You get away with it this time.” He tilted his head to look down at Logan. “How's my needy snugglebug?”

Logan rested his chin on Leo's collarbone and glared up. “Non, I'm not.”

Leo grinned. “You mean you don't want kisses?”

Logan grunted. “That's not what I said. Allez.”

He dragged Leo down to meet his mouth, and Leo let himself sink into Logan's warm body. He lingered until he physically needed to breath, breaking away with a slight gasp. Logan placed sloppy kisses under his jaw before tucking his face back into Leo's neck with a happy sigh.

Finn looked at him, amused. “Not needy, my arse.”

Logan just grunted in reply, but he didn’t deny it.

“There they are!” Eloise came striding in with Wyatt in tow. “It worked!”

“What?” Leo asked as she pulled both Finn and Logan into hugs.

“The surprise,” Wyatt said matter-of-factly. He shook both Finn and Logan's hands. “How are we, boys, you alright?”

Finn wrapped an arm around Logan's shoulders. “Yeah, we're good. Excited to be here.”

Eloise clapped her hands excitedly. “Okay, bed's upstairs, all made up. You hungry? I've got some leftover lamb cawl.”

Logan shook his head. “Non, merci, we ate. For lunch tomorrow?”

Eloise nodded excitedly. “With some fresh bread from the bakery down the street.” She shooed them away with wink. “Off you pop, I'm sure you've got lots of catching up to do.”

Leo blushed. “Mam.” He let Logan, then Finn up the stairs, following with a hand resting on Finn's lower back. “Nos da.”

“Sleep tight, loves!”

Their footsteps sounded all the way down the hallway to Leo's room. Upon closing the door, Logan pulled Leo in and wrapped his arms around Leo's neck. He was grinning eagerly. “Will there be much sleeping?”

Leo smiled, ducking down to wrap Logan fully in his arms. Logan played with his scalp, and Leo relaxed into it, letting out a yawn.

Finn laughed at him over Logan's shoulder, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “I think there might be. You look tired, baby.”

Leo straightened. “No, I'm okay. I'm totally fine, we can-”

Logan pressed three fingers to his mouth. “Non. You were stressed with work and traveled all day on the train. You're tired, mon soleil.” He pressed his thumbs to Leo's cheeks, just below his lashes. “I can see it in your eyes.”

Leo sighed, tipping forward to press their foreheads together. “I'm sorry,” he whispered. “I'm exhausted. Tomorrow, I promise.”

Finn came up to press along Logan's back, a hand on Leo's ribs. “Sex isn't an obligation, love. It's a nice bonus, but only if you want it.”

Leo considered that for a moment. “I do want it. I want you.” He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. “But right now I want to shower and I want you to hold me.”

Finn brushed a few curls away from his face. “Can do, sunshine. We already showered, so you go ahead. We'll warm the bed up for you.”

Leo nodded, kissing each of their cheeks before pulling a pair of boxers and a towel from his closet, leaving them to get ready for bed.

The shower was warm against his skin. His hair felt greasy under his fingers, so he decided to wash it. He was just putting in some conditioner when there was a knock at the door.

“Le?” came Finn's voice. “Can we come in and brush our teeth and wash our faces?”

Leo smiled. He'd gotten them into Muggle skincare since they'd started dating, particularly Logan, to their collective surprise. He really loved a good moisturizer.

“Yeah,” he replied. “I'm almost done.”

He heard the popping of toothpaste caps and the cleanser bottle that Logan liked as he washed his body and rinsed out the conditioner. When he stepped out and grabbed a towel, he came face to face with Logan, who looked up at him through his lashes. Leo smiled. “What?”

Logan just kissed his chest. “Si beau.” He held up a few containers. “I bought you the face creams that you like.”

Leo just leaned down and kissed him.

After drying off and settling his boyfriends into bed, Leo went about applying lotion to his arms and legs. His skin got dry and cracked when it was cold, and he could already feel the chilly night air working its way into his bones.

“Allez,” Logan said. “Leo.”

“Just a moment, cariad. I've got to do my other leg.”

Logan huffed and slumped down against his pillow, arms crossed in frustration. Finn caught Leo's eye and winked. “Getting all nice and moisturized for us, baby?”

Leo rolled his eyes, but went to kneel on the end of the bed. “You wish. My skin gets dry when I'm cold.”

Finn patted the space next to him. “C'mere.”

Leo obliged, crawling up the mattress to lay in between them. Logan immediately settled himself on Leo's chest, his nose taking up its permanent resident just underneath Leo's chin. Finn wrapped an arm around Leo's torso and threw his leg over both of them.

“It feels good,” Finn said. “To be in bed all together again.” He nuzzled Leo's shoulder. “Love the weight of you.”

“I don’t sleep well,” Leo whispered. “Not without you.”

Logan made a discontent noise. “I don't like that.”

“I know,” Leo said, rubbing a hand up and down Logan's back. “But do you know what I do when I can't sleep?”

“What?” Finn asked, intrigued.

Leo turned his head to nudge their noses together. “I read the letters you send me, and I look at the pictures.” He kissed Finn lightly, then the top of Logan's head. “We have mirror calls almost four times a week, and yet you two still send me letters every couple of days.”

“We want you to know what's going through our heads,” Logan mumbled.

Leo pulled him tighter to his chest. “I love it more than anything.”

Finn scoffed, pinching his hip. “You don't love it more than us.”

Leo laughed. “That's true.” He closed his eyes. “I love you more than anything that ever has and ever will be.” He yawned, settling into the weight of their bodies and the heat their skin. “Nos da.”

“Good night, loves.”

“Bonne nuit. Je t’aime.”

Hi! I just lost my 13yo dog and been so down, but trying to think about all the amazing times we went through. Made me wonder about the cubs adopting a rescue dog, or even better, Logan maybe gifting Leo said dog, or something like it, dont know, just wanted something very lovely and cute. Thanks

Hi friend,

I am so so so sorry for your loss. Dogs love unconditionally like nobody else can, and I imagine it must be so hard right now. However, they are some of the greatest gifts life has to offer, even if their time on Earth is much more limited than ours. They bring so much joy and happiness, and I hope you can find that in the memories you carry of your sweet baby. <3

Have some sunshine being a sweet dog-whisperer and Logan and Finn wanting to surprise the very best husband they could ever ask for.

Sending lots of love your way!!

Logan laced his fingers through Leo’s as they walked along the path through the park, stepping aside every now and then to let bikers and runners pass by. Leo’s skin was tan from the summer sun and matched beautifully with the gold rings on his fingers. Logan brought his hand to his mouth and kissed it, then turned to look up at him. They were discussing where they wanted to go for dinner. “What do you want to do tonight, soleil?”

Leo shrugged. “Don’t know. Could ask Finn, he was talking about this new place that opened up in the center of the city. Or we could go to that café we like for an early dinner, then go for a walk by the water. It’s a nice day.”

“Mm,” Logan hummed distractedly. He stopped abruptly and bent down. When he stood to give Leo the flower he picked, small and yellow, he smiled. “Allez. For you.”

Leo smiled back. “Thanks, honey.” He kissed Logan’s forehead. “I love it.”

Logan was leaning up for another kiss when he felt something cold sniff his ankle. He pulled away and looked down. “Quoi?”

The dog had moved on to Leo now. It was medium sized, with long, triangle ears and a boxy face. It’s entire body wiggled as it looked up at Leo and stuck its tongue out in a smile.

“Sassy!” a woman said. She gave the dog a tug by its leash and smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, sorry, she’s not leash trained quite yet.”

“That’s alright,” Leo said. He looked up at her. “Can I pet her?”

“Yeah, yeah, of course.”

Leo grinned and bent a bit to let Sassy sniff his hand, and when she licked it, he crouched fully to scratch behind her ears. He laughed when she made a content little grunting sound. “You’re so pretty! Look at you, baby.”

Logan smiled fondly then looked up at the woman. “What breed is she?”

She shrugged. “We’re not entirely sure. We think a pitbull-coonhound mix. I’m not her owner, I’m just taking her for a walk. I volunteer at Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.”

Logan tilted his head. “So she’s not adopted?”

“No. A group of us take the dogs for walks every week so they get used to it. Helps to socialize them a bit.”

“That’s awesome,” Leo chided in. Sassy now had her paws on his bent knees and was wiggling happily as he continued to scratch her ears. “You’re a very sweet girl.”

Logan took in Leo’s smile and bright blue eyes. They had talked about getting a dog before, in theory. Leo always joked that Finn basically was their dog and that they needed to run him, but Logan knew he wanted the real thing. He loved whenever the Lions did charity work or photoshoots with rescue dogs. Finn and Logan had shared knowing glances many times over the years as they watched every single dog, old and young, big and small, fall in love with Leo the second they met him.

Suddenly, there was a warm body behind him and a wet, slightly sweaty, kiss was pressed to his cheek. “‘Sup, hubs.”

Logan turned and caught Finn’s eye. “Salut. Good run?”

Finn nodded eagerly, bouncing on his toes. “Oo-ways. Two more miles left.” He noticed Leo on the ground and the women holding the leash and smiled. “Hi! Who’s this?”

The woman smiled. “This is Sassy. She’s at Gryffindor Shelter, I’m breaking her out of jail for the day.”

Finn crouched down and held out his hand. “Aren’t you a sweet little girl!” He laughed when she came to lick his wrist, then Logan’s ankle, before going straight back to seek attention from Leo. “Damn, okay, I see how it is.”

The lady winked at him. “Seems she found a friend.”

“Looks like. She’s very pretty.”

The woman nodded. “She is.” She checked her watch briefly, then tugged on the leash. “Let’s go, Sassy girl, gotta get you back.” She looked up at the three of them. “Nice to meet you…?”

“I’m Finn,” Finn said. “And this is Logan and Leo.” He gestured accordingly with a tilt of his head. “And you?”

“Melanie.”

Finn turned on one of his signature grins. “Well, Melanie, thanks for sharing Sassy with us. And taking her for walkies, I’m sure the shelter must be boring for her.”

Melanie smiled. “My pleasure.” She gave the leash another tug. “Let’s go, Sass!”

Sassy let out a whining sound before resisting just enough to give Leo’s forearm another lick and receive one last scratch before she was being led away down the path. Leo watched her go with a small smile on his face for a moment. Just enough time, really, for Finn and Logan to share a meaningful look. Logan grinned and turned to Leo, holding out his hand. “Ici, soleil, let’s finish our walk.”

Leo let out a sigh. “Okay.” He took Logan’s hand and stood. “She was really cute.”

“She was, baby,” Finn agreed, kissing his cheek. “I’ll meet you at the fountain in a few, okay? Love you.”

Leo nodded. “Love you.”

Finn jogged backwards for a moment, making a heart with his hands, before winking and turning to run ahead. Logan stood on his toes and kissed Leo on the cheek. “You look very pretty in the sun.”

Leo rolled his eyes good naturedly, but he turned his face to brush their noses together. He still had the yellow flower between his fingers. “I love you.”

“Je t’aime.” Logan kissed him on the mouth, then squeezed his hand. “Allez, or our oversized puppy will get impatient waiting for us at the fountain.”

Leo laughed and let Logan pull him along the path.

Two weeks later

It took a lot of planning, and insisting Leo go out with Regulus one day while they had a secret house inspection, but Logan had done it. Well, really, he and Finn had done it, but he liked to credit himself for the idea, at least. They had told Leo they were going out to get fertilizer for his herb garden, which they did actually do- the store just so happened to have all necessary dog accessories, and was a three minute drive from Gryffindor Shelter on Lavelle Street.

“Are you excited, Sassy girl?” Finn cooed from the front seat as he parked. He turned to scratch her behind the ears, and patted Logan, who was sitting in the back with her, on the head. “Your daddy’s gonna be so happy!”

She let out a whine and a short bark, her entire body vibrating with energy. Logan clipped the leash they had got her around her collar and gingerly opened the door. “Allez, ma petite, careful.”

Sassy paid him no mind and leapt out of the car after him, nose in the air and twitching like a bunny’s with soft huffs. Finn chirped the car and went to open the door leading from the garage to the lower lobby and the elevator.

“Wanna bring the other stuff up later?”

“Ouais,” Logan said, gripping tightly to the leash as Sassy pulled in her excitement. “I want Le to see her first.”

Finn made a happy sound in the back of his throat. “I can’t wait, he’s gonna be so excited.” He turned to look at Logan as they stepped through the elevator door and kissed him. “You’re a good husband.”

Logan smiled against his mouth. “Toi aussi, mon rouge.” He bent to rub Sassy’s side. “She’s very happy.”

“Wiggly little thing, huh?” Finn crouched to give her a kiss on the forehead, which just made her wag her tail even harder. “Gonna have to take you on runs to get your energy out. Yes I am!”

Logan ran a hand fondly through Finn’s hair just as the elevator door opened. Sassy immediately dragged Logan out, nose to the ground as she scurried her way down the hallway. Finn laughed and went to unlock the door. “Hold her here for a second, ‘kay?”

“D’accord,” Logan replied, crouching to hold Sassy around her chest.

Finn touched Logan’s cheek, winked, then pushed the door open. “Sunshine! We’re home.”

“Hi, honey,” Logan heard Leo say. There was the sound of a brief kiss. “Where’s Lo?”

Logan could imagine Finn’s mischievous smile. “We’ve got a surprise for you.”

“What?”

“Lo, let her in!”

Logan stood and held onto Sassy’s leash and guided her into the apartment. Leo looked briefly confused, but his entire face changed when he saw her, breaking into a wide smile. Those bright eyes flashed to Logan’s face. “No.”

Logan nodded, a warm feeling working its way up his chest. “Ouais.”

Sassy whined, entire body vibrating, before Logan let her go. Leo crouched and she launched herself right into his lap, happy, high-pitched noises escaping her. Her paws were dancing on Leo’s legs as he cupped her face and scratched her ears. He was laughing and cooing at her. Logan and Finn and Logan shared a fond look.

“Hi, baby, hi!” Leo was saying. “Oh, you’re so beautiful.” He looked up at Finn and Logan, both dimples on full display. “She’s ours?”

The look Finn gave him was so in love Logan felt his heart speed up. “Yeah, sunshine. She’s ours.”

Leo laughed again and buried his face in Sassy’s neck. She had both of her paws on his shoulders and was sniffing by his ear. She had calmed down a bit, comforted by the warmth of Leo’s body. Logan could relate.

“Thank you,” Leo said softly. He tilted his chin up. “C’mere.”

Finn sat by his side and Logan kneeled in front of him. Leo leaned in to kiss them both softly, a hand supporting Sassy on her back. Finn wrapped one arm around Leo’s waist and Logan scratched Sassy’s side just beside Leo’s hand.

“She will need some training,” Logan said. He moved his hand up and flitted his fingers over Leo’s curls. He leaned into the touch. “But she needed a home, and she loves you, Le.”

“She’s perfect,” Finn said wistfully, head now on Leo’s shoulder. He reached out to rub Sassy’s ear between his thumb and forefinger. “Her ears are so soft.”

“Mm, like- how do you say it, soleil? Le velours?”

Leo smiled and peeked out at him. “Velvet. Yeah, they are.”

Sassy was wiggling again, excited and eager with all the hands petting her, and let out a happy little growling sound. Logan barked out a laugh. “Rouge, she sounds like you.”

Finn mimicked her happy growling sound and reached out with both hands to scratch behind her ears. She opened her mouth in a smile and talked back to him again. “Just like your dad, baby, did you hear that?”

Leo kissed her on the side of her head. “Okay, c’mon, baby girl, let’s show you the house.” He coaxed her off his lap and took her leash, leading her through the kitchen. “This is where all the yummy snacks are made. I’ll have to find some dog friendly recipes for you, sweetheart.” They continued on. “And this is the couch, it’s great for naps. I’ll make sure to get you a blanket.”

Leo continued chattering to her as he showed her the bedrooms and the hallway. Her nose was moving rapidly, the sounds of her sniffing making Logan let out an amused breath. He settled back on his heels as Finn came to sit beside him. He wrapped his arms around his shoulders and kissed his red waves. “Good surprise.”

“Good surprise,” Finn agreed. “He’s so happy. They both are.”

Logan hummed into Finn’s hair and breathed out a laugh as Leo’s voice continued to carry through their apartment, followed by a bark from Sassy. “I think we married a Disney character.”

“Oh, we definitely did. We could put him in the forest and he’d be friends with all the animals in an hour, probably.”

Logan smiled into Finn’s hair. “You’re so weird. I love you.”

Finn tilted his head and kissed him. “I love you, too.”

They turned to look as Leo walked back into the entryway with Sassy, who was now free from her leash. She saw them and trotted her way over, entire body wiggling, and nudged their hands. They both smiled and complied, scratching her side and ears. Leo stood over them, leash in one hand, his smile bright. Logan couldn’t tear his eyes away.

“Is her stuff in the car?” Leo asked. At the sound of his voice, Sassy turned around and went over to him again. He squatted to pet her.

“Yeah, but we’ll get it, baby,” Finn said. He stood, then held out a hand for Logan. “You relax.”

“You sure? I can help-”

“Non.” Logan bent and cupped his face to kiss him quickly. “Stay here, mon coeur. We’ll be back.”

Later that evening, after the three of them had taken Sassy for a long walk around her new neighborhood, Finn and Logan arrived from picking up their Thai take out for dinner to find Leo fast asleep on his back on the couch. Sassy was a heavy weight on his chest, limbs splayed out as she softly snored. One of her ears was flipped inside-out. Leo’s arms were wrapped gently around her to keep her from falling.

Finn sneakily took a photo. “New lockscreen.”

Logan rested his chin on his shoulder. “Send it to me, please?”

“Already done, baby.” He kissed the side of Logan’s head. “They’re so cute.”

Logan bent to kneel beside the couch and kissed Leo’s forehead, brushing his hair back. “Mon amour. Mon mari. Dinner.”

Leo took a deep breath in and blinked slowly. He smiled sleepily. “Hi.” His arms tightened around Sassy. She let out a content sound and opened her eyes, too. “Sorry, we were just taking a nap.”

Logan shook his head. “Non, don’t be sorry.” He nudged their noses together. “You were very cute.” He felt a paw pat his forearm and he turned to Sassy. “You, too, ma petite.” He kissed her between her eyes and she let out a satisfied sigh.

Leo scratched her back. “Up, sweetheart, it’s supper time.” He laughed as Sassy let out a groan and stretched her back legs and yawned. “Oh, big stretch and big yawn, wow.”

Sassy hopped off the couch and shook, her lips and ears making a flapping sound. She trotted over to greet Finn and sniffed eagerly at the bags he was still holding. “Ah-ah, none for you. Yet. Maybe some chicken.”

Leo tisked. “Spices aren’t good for dogs, they upset their tummies.” He walked over and rested a hand on Finn’s lower back and leaned in for a kiss. “Hi. Thanks for getting dinner.”

“You’re welcome, sunshine.” Finn opened the takeout bags on their counter and began to unload them. Sassy sat obediently and looked up at him, ears perked up. Finn looked at her, then at Leo with his very own pleading puppy dog eyes. “Are you sure she can’t-”

“No. But we can cut her up some cucumbers and you can give them to her, how’s that?”

Finn smiled and nodded. “That sounds good.” He bent to touch his and Sassy’s foreheads together and kissed her nose. “You’re just so cute!”

She barked and wagged her tail happily. Leo looked down at her proudly, then caught Logan looking at him. “You okay, sweetheart?”

Logan nodded. “Ouais,” he said, going up to wrap his arms around Leo’s ribs. “Just love you.”

Leo kissed the top of his head. “I love you, too.” He bent to wrap his hands under Logan’s thighs and pick him up. His dimples were there again. “You got me a dog.”

Logan scratched a hand through his hair and tightened his legs around his waist. “I did.”

“We.”

“It was my idea!”

Leo rolled his eyes fondly and kissed Logan on the mouth. “Well, thank you both. She’s perfect.”

Logan kissed him again. “You’re perfect.”

Leo just grinned and set him down again. “C’mon, let’s get the plates. Then I gotta give Sassy her dinner.” Logan scratched Sassy, who was still watching Finn open the take out containers with rapt attention, on the head, letting the warm feeling of family fill him up as he went to get the silverware.

absolutely LIVE for Leo using southern style pet names like: darlin, sugar, honey etc and finn and Logan absolutely loving it

GUESS WHO'S BACK WITH HER COMPUTEEEEERRRRR!!!! This means I can write faster, which is SUCH a relief. I've already banged out a couple of prompts today, and am so excited every time I get new ones!

Have some FinnLo being jealous of fur babies, and Leo being the sweetest sunshine that ever shone. :)

Credits to @lumosinlove :)))))

It all started with a dog and a cat getting more affection than him.

Well, that wasn’t necessarily true. But Logan liked to pretend it was so he could justify the way he narrowed his eyes at the two animals when they were the subject of Leo's affections.

They were in Nice for a few weeks by themselves before guests were supposed to start arriving for their wedding. It hadn't been difficult to pick the location, and they had more than enough money to pay for their non-professional athlete friends and family members to come, but the process was long and stressful and Logan, quite frankly, had had enough by the time the hockey season had ended. A few weeks with just his soon-to-be husbands sounded just perfect to him- sand, sun, and the beautiful French sea.

And it was perfect- until Leo's affections had been diverted elsewhere.

The nice ladies down at the tailors where they bought their sweaters had over the years grown quite fond of Leo. Logan could relate, obviously- it was hard not to love the epitome of sunshine in human form. Leo brought them coffee and pastries a few times a week from the place they all liked and always bought sweaters and shirts to bring back as gifts for birthdays and holidays, which Eloise absolutely loved. But more than the ladies adoring him, the store's beagle, Antoinette, and calico cat, Xavier, had really, truly fallen in love with him. They always rushed to him, sat in his lap, licked at his hands gently. So when Madame Colette had asked if Leo wanted to pet sit while she and her husband were on vacation for a little while, Leo had of course enthusiastically obliged.

Logan never thought he'd be so jealous of four-legged animals.

“Hi, darlin’, hi!” Leo cooed as Antoinette rushed to greet him at the door. “Sweet girl, how are you?”

She barked happily and hopped on her toes until Leo knelt down to scratch her ears. She tilted her head into his hand, tail happily wagging and making soft, appreciative noises through her nose. Logan scowled- he was the one that normally received head scratches.

There was a meow from the other side of the kitchen, and Logan almost scoffed. Xavier sauntered around to nudge at Leo's other hand until he scratched his head, too. Logan's fingers gripped tightly around his mug of coffee.

“Hi, sugar, how are you? Were you sleeping? You're so pretty, look at you.”

Antoinette barked again, Xavier meowed, and Logan huffed.

At the noise, Leo looked up and smiled. “Good morning, sweetheart.” He held up a bag. “I've got some nice bread and pastries to go with the eggs this morning.”

Logan just petulantly took a sip of coffee.

Leo’s eyebrows furrowed. “What's wrong?” When he saw Logan's eyes dart to the animals still at his feet, he let out a laugh. “Logan, you can't be jealous of a dog and a cat.”

Logan blushed. “I'm not.”

“You are.” Leo scratched each animal one more time before standing and walking around to the other side of the counter. He pressed against Logan's back, large hands cupping his hips, and began to kiss his neck. “I agreed to marry you, remember?”

Despite himself, Logan smiled and leaned into Leo's mouth. “Ouais.”

“I'm going to be your husband, yeah, baby?”

Logan felt his heart kick like it did every time Leo used a pet name. They sounded so good in his accent: the way the ‘o’ in ‘honey’ had an exaggerated ‘u’ sound; the way Logan saw a NOLA sunset every time Leo said ‘sweetheart’; the drawn out ‘a’ sound in ‘baby’, like how all people from New Orleans said it. Logan wanted more and more of those words from Leo's mouth only.

He turned to cup Leo's jaw and kiss him. “Je t'aime.”

Leo smiled against his lips. “I love you.”

Logan kissed him quietly again, content with Leo's warm hands on his hips and his soft hair slipping through his fingers. They maybe got a little too into it, because there was a protesting meow from close by, and they knocked their noses together as they pulled apart.

“Sorry,” Leo whispered, kissing Logan's nose and mouth quickly. They both turned to find Xavier examining them expectantly. Leo smiled. “Don't you worry, darlin’, I didn't forget about you. I bought you your food.” He picked Xavier and the shopping bag up and walked towards the living room where the food bowls were, Antoinette following close at his heels. “C'mere, sweethearts, let's get you some breakfast.”

Logan scowled again as his eyes followed Antoinette’s wagging tail and clacking feet. Another warm presence came up behind him and a kiss was pressed to his shoulder. “What are you so grumpy for?”

Logan turned to face Finn. Their noses were brushing. “Leo loves the cat and dog more than us.”

Finn just stared at him for a second before breaking out into a grin. “No he doesn't.”

“This week he does.”

“No he doesn't,” Finn repeated. He wrapped his arms more firmly around Logan's waist. “He just loves animals. Like our own Disney princess, Snow White or Cinderella or something. Rapunzel, maybe, they've both got good hair.”

Logan leaned back against Finn's chest. “He calls them ‘darling’ and ‘sugar’.”

Finn's eyes were confused. “So? He calls us all sorts of things.” His eyes went soft. “I love the way he says ‘baby’ and ‘sweetheart’. And ‘honey’. A tall glass of Southern lovin’.”

Logan elbowed Finn lightly. “He calls them those names, too.”

Finn blinked. “Huh.” He looked to the archway that led to the living room. They could hear Leo talking softly to Xavier, trying to get him to eat. “Well, that's- I mean…”

“It's not fair.”

“Well, I wouldn't go that far, but-”

They were interrupted by Leo walking back through to the kitchen. Somehow, Antoinette had ended up in his arms. She looked content, head on his shoulder and eyes closed, like a sleeping baby. Logan could feel Finn freeze behind him.

When Leo saw them both, he smiled. “Hi.” He patted Antoinette's back. “We're gonna sit in the sun for a few minutes, then I'll get started on breakfast.” He leaned across the counter to kiss them each briefly, then sat in the breakfast nook that always caught the morning sun. It lit his hair up in gold and reflected in his bright blue eyes as he settled Antoinette in his lap. She looked up at him with wide eyes, tail wagging as he kissed her forehead. “There you go, darlin’. Lay down, sweetheart, we'll rest for a few minutes.”

Finn let out a breath in Logan's ear as Leo continued to coo at the dog. “You're right,” he whispered. “That's so not fair.”

Logan nodded and kissed his cheek, and they watched as Leo stroked Antoinette’s back gently and closed his eyes against the sun.

***

The week continued as such. They awoke, and the dog was scratching at the door to be let in and snuggle into Leo's chest, the cat not far behind. Logan narrowed his eyes as his coveted pillow spot was taken. They didn't know enough to appreciate the firmness of Leo’s chest underneath their bodies.

Finn had taken to running with Antoinette in the mornings, which made them both tired and happy- Leo and Logan had found them both asleep on their backs and starfished on the bed on multiple occasions in the hot summer afternoons. And, despite stealing their fiancé, both Finn and Logan had to admit that Antoinette was cute, Xavier, too. The cat especially liked when Logan sat at the counter with him to watch Leo cook, scratching behind his ears. It was worth it for the fond smiles Leo sent them both.

The pet names, however, were still an issue.

“Hi, sugar, hi,” Leo said to a jumpy Antoinette. “I know, baby, I know, I'll get your leash.”

Finn and Logan, who were cuddling on the couch, peeked around the archway to watch as Leo got Antoinette's bright blue leash and clipped it to her collar.

“I'm taking the dog out!” Leo called as he opened the door. He blew them a kiss with a smile. “Be back in a bit.”

When the door clicked shut, Finn let out a groan and flopped his head onto Finn's chest. “Fuck,” he said. “Fuck, she's stealing our fiancé from us. They both are.”

Logan kissed his head. “He calls them more pet names than us.”

“I know.” Finn let out another groan into Logan's sweatshirt. “And the worst part is, I can't even be mad because he's so gorgeous and sexy, and the names he does call us sound so gorgeous and sexy, and every time he says them my body just melts. Ugh.”

Logan smiled into Finn's hair. “Oui, he's so gorgeous and sexy.”

“Right?” Finn shifted to turn onto his back, drawing Logan's hands to rest on his stomach and playing with his fingers. “Do you think, if we asked, he'd call us those things, too?”

Logan considered this for a moment. “Ouais, I think so. But I think it'd be- mais, allez, not weird, but…”

Finn nodded. “We've been together for so long that it'd be odd to add new names to call each other.”

“Yeah,” Logan sighed. “Are we being crazy?”

Finn hummed. “A little bit, I think, yeah.”

“I just,” Logan started, then sighed. “Je ne sais pas, I'm not… jealous. I just really like the way he says things.”

“Yeah.” Finn twiddled Logan’s fingers. “We're really lucky. He's so good.”

“Ouais,” Logan whispered. He pressed his nose into Finn's hair and closed his eyes. “You're so good.”

Finn laughed. “And you're sweet.”

There was a meow from beside them and they both looked to find Xavier looking up at them with demanding eyes.

Finn scoffed. “Oh, don't even get me started on you.” After another meow, Finn rolled his eyes and sat up a bit, reaching for the cat. “All right, all right, c'mere.” He rubbed a hand down Xavier's soft back as he settled down on Finn's stomach. Finn sighed. “Maybe they aren't so bad, after all.”

“Non, they aren't,” Logan agreed, reaching around to caress Xavier's ears. “They're not so bad.”

When Leo came in and found them both snuggling the cat, Antoinette quick to hop on the couch with them, he smiled so wide that it heated Logan from his head to his toes.

***

Logan awoke the next morning to find the bed empty and delicious smells wafting in from the kitchen. Logan could hear soft music, too, as he went to the bathroom. He stretched as he brushed his teeth. Finn was probably out for a run, he supposed, but he'd still go to the gym with Logan and Leo in the afternoon.

Logan splashed cool water on his face before going back to the bedroom and reaching for one of Leo's sweatshirts. The house was cold with the air conditioning unit his mother had had installed a few years ago. He yawned as he entered the kitchen to find Leo in boxers and a T-shirt. His back was lean through the fabric, and Logan pressed against him to kiss along his shoulder.

“Morning, sweetheart.”

Logan hummed. “Bon matin. What are you making?”

Leo reached behind to pat his butt lovingly. “Those baked eggs you both like. Just put them in the oven.”

“Merci.” He nudged Leo's hips until he turned around, smiling softly. Logan leaned up to kiss him. “You left me in bed.”

Leo stroked a hand down his cheek with an amused expression. “I'm sorry, honey.” He pressed a lingering kiss to Logan's forehead. “Better?”

Logan nodded and smiled. He wrapped his arms around Leo's neck and fell against him slightly. “Ouais, merci.”

They smiled at each other for a moment before something caught Leo's eye over Logan's shoulder. His eyes brightened. “Oh, hi, sweetheart.”

Logan turned in Leo's arms to find that Xavier had climbed up onto the counter. He felt the coldness on his hips acutely when Leo let go of him to reach around and pick up the cat, who immediately curled into Leo's chest. Logan glared at him.

“Hi, darlin’,” Leo said soothingly. He scratched under Xavier’s chin to make him purr. “Hi, baby, you're so precious.” When he looked up and saw Logan's expression he let out a sigh. He set Xavier down and nudged him towards the living room, then stood and cupped Logan's face. “Okay, what's wrong?”

Logan felt his face heat. He darted his eyes around the room. “Nothing.”

But Leo was already shaking his head. “No. No, something is wrong. You and Finn have been all weird this week.” He ran a hand through Logan's hair. “Tell me, Lo. Please?”

Logan let out a breath through his nose. He forced himself to look into Leo's concerned eyes. “D'accord. It's just… you…”

Leo's eyes were questioning. “I…?”

Logan rolled his eyes at himself. “You call them names.”

“Who?” Leo looked thoroughly confused.

“Antoinette. And Xavier.”

Leo's confused expression turned into an amused smile. “Are you actually jealous of a cat and a dog?”

Logan bit his lip. “Non, you just call them things. Nice things. Things you don't call us.”

Leo stepped closer into his space. “But I call you nice things, too.” A kiss to his forehead. “Like honey.” A kiss to his cheek. “And sweetheart.” A smile pressed to his mouth. “And baby.” At Logan's shiver, Leo nudged their noses together. “Yeah, you like that one.”

Logan couldn't take it anymore. He captured Leo's lips with his own, allowing himself to be kissed deeply for a moment. Leo’s thumbs were soft on his cheeks, and he smelled like home, and was so warm against Logan's body. Logan got a little lost in the moment, and was surprised when Leo pulled back to look at him.

“Seriously,” Leo said. “I can stop calling them names, if you want. Whatever makes you happy, Lo.”

But Logan shook his head. “Non, non, it's not that.” He carded his hand through Leo's curls. “Finn and I- we like the names you call them.”

Leo's smile was amused. “You want me to call you ‘darlin’ and ‘sugar'?”

Logan suddenly felt embarrassed. “Ugh,” he groaned, smushing his face into Leo's chest. “Désolé, soleil. I'm sorry.”

“No, Lo, don't be sorry,” Leo laughed, running a hand up and down Logan's back. “I just thought they were too cheesy when we started dating.”

Logan pulled back to look at him. “What?”

Leo shrugged. “I thought they were too stereotypically southern, I guess, I don't know.” He leaned in mischievously. “And you don't exactly call someone ‘sugar’ in bed. Sweetheart, on the other hand…”

Logan kissed his smile. “Non, ‘sugar’ doesn't sound so good in bed. But out of bed…?”

Leo's eyes were sparkling. “Why would we ever leave bed?”

Logan scoffed. “I'd prefer we didn't. Why are we in the kitchen? We're all alone.”

Leo tucked his face down into Logan's neck with a light laugh. “I'll call you and Fish whatever you both want, okay, baby?” He paused. “Darlin’.”

Logan just hummed happily, squeezing Leo's back harder. They held each other, swaying for a moment to Leo's playlist. Logan almost fell asleep, but then the song changed, and the familiar guitar plucking and soothing voice of John Denver reverberated around the room.

“Hey,” Logan whispered, pressing a kiss to Leo's cheek as he pulled back. “This is our wedding song.”

Leo's smile was soft. “It is.” He reached for Logan’s right hand, running his palm down the length of his arm to lace their fingers together. He settled his hand more firmly into the dip of Logan's lower back. “You wanna practice, sweetheart?”

Logan squeezed his hand. “Ouais.”

It started out practiced, swaying and stepping in time in the kitchen. Leo's hand was good in guiding Logan around. He only let go for a brief moment to put the song on repeat. Eventually, they stopped trying to dance so formally and Logan drew Leo closer to press their foreheads and chests together. This soon, too, grew too spacious, and Logan ended up with his head resting on Leo's collarbone, Leo's nose in his hair.

Logan didn't know how long they spent there, dancing in the soft light coming through the window, but it was long enough for the doorknob to turn and for Finn and Antoinette to come tumbling through and into the entryway. Logan watched as Leo's eyes lit up with fond excitement at the sound of Finn's fumbling. He didn't turn, just snuggled into Leo's chest again.

“There you go, girl, go get some water!” A breath. “Well, what have we here?”

Logan felt Leo press a hand to the back of his hair. “We're practicing for the wedding, sugar.”

Logan felt hand grip his hips by Leo's and a hard kiss was pressed into his neck. “Looks like someone had a talk with our sunshine.”

Logan blindly turned his head for a real kiss. Finn's skin was slightly cool. “Ouais, we did.” He turned back into Leo's chest. “But he won't call us ‘sugar’ in bed.”

“Yeah, that's not attractive,” Finn laughed. His warmth left Logan's back and then his face appeared over Leo's shoulder. He kissed Leo's cheek and cupped Leo's hips. “Can I join?”

Leo tilted their temples together. “Are you sweaty?”

“The dog and I took a little dip before coming back.”

Leo turned to face him with a raised eyebrow. “Does that mean Antoinette is dripping puddles on the carpet?”

Finn winced. “Maybe a little. It's just water!”

Leo sighed and closed his eyes. “What are we gonna do with you, baby?”

“You can keep calling me ‘baby’, that's for sure.”

Leo just hummed and leaned into Finn's head, which was now resting on his shoulder. Finn smiled briefly at Logan before closing his eyes, too. He rubbed one hand over Logan's ribs. “We’re getting married!” Finn whisper-yelled.

Logan and Leo each chuckled, Leo turning his face to kiss by Finn's ear. “Yeah, sweetheart.”

“Yay, yay, yay!”

“Rouge,” Logan said, reaching up to trace under Finn's eyes.

“Yeah?”

“Sh, mon amour, we're dancing.”

“Right,” Finn said softly. “Right, sorry.” He instantly relaxed under their hands, closing his eyes and resting against Leo again. “I love you.”

“We love you, honey,” Leo replied. He kissed Finn's cheek one more time. “Let's dance.”

Logan smiled against the fabric of Leo’s T-shirt, sun-warmed from the light streaming in through the windows. He decided that he didn't care if nobody made it to their wedding, if it was raining, or even if there was a thunderstorm- none of that would stop him from dancing with his husbands. He couldn't wait to feel the coolness of their wedding rings, the soft fabric of their suites, their skin, warm on excitement and adrenaline. Logan had been given the greatest gift he hadn't even thought to look for, and nothing would ever compare to the love he felt every time he touched Finn and Leo’s bodies, or heard their voices, or saw them smile.

And so, content and swaying to the acoustic guitar of Annie’s Song, Logan settled into the warmth of them and closed his eyes.

Can we get something for Leo’s birthday?🥹 I think it’s today but I can’t find where the exact date is

Of COURSE you can, friend! <3

This is just a quick little drabble. Sorry, I am going out of order again with the asks, and you all have been waiting SO patiently. I'll post another one tomorrow, if you folks want. I've got a pile just WAITING to be published, and a few prompts I need to finish- y'all have got me working overtime (it's okay, I love it, you all are so sweet, PLEASE keep on sending me more!).

Happy birthday, sunshine!

All credits to @lumosinlove !!

Leo awoke to soft kisses falling over his back like a waterfall. He sighed contentedly into his pillow and blinked. Bright green eyes met his own, and he closed his eyelids again briefly with a smile. “Lo.”

Logan's nose nudged his own. “Joyeux anniversaire, mon soleil.”

The kisses along Leo's back hadn't stopped, but now they reached up to the back of his neck. He could feel Finn's grin against his skin. “Happy birthday, baby.” He placed a wet kiss on Leo's cheek. “Your first birthday as a husband.”

Leo let out a happy sound as Finn continued kissing down his back and Logan reached up to scratch at his scalp. He grunted and lifted himself up onto his forearms, only to flop down on Logan and squish him into the mattress. Logan let out a laugh, but continued running his hand through Leo's hair. “Happy, mon amor?”

Leo nuzzled into where Logan's neck met his shoulder. “Just happy my birthday lines up with the All Star break. I get to wake up to both of you in my bed.” He yawned again and let himself go heavier against Logan's body. “Best gift ever.”

Finn paused his kisses that were trailing over Leo's ribs. “You deserve all the gifts.”

“Ouais,” Logan agreed. He gave Leo's curls a kiss. “Every last one.”

Leo wondered if Logan could feel how hot his cheeks were where their bare skin touched. “You're sweet. But,” he said, wiggling a little in Logan's arms. “I like this. This is good.”

He knew Finn and Logan were smiling at each other. Finn rubbed a hand up and down his back. “Yeah?”

Leo nodded. “Mhm.” He reached a hand back to feel for Finn's body and dragged him down to lay with them. “I just want this.”

Finn kissed his way from Leo's neck to his jaw. “We love you so much.”

“Ouais, so much. More than anything.”

Leo braced himself on Logan's chest to get a good look at the both of them. They were smiling softly at him and he leaned in to kiss them each. “I love you.” He scooted down to rest his head on Logan's chest. “My husbands.”

Finn sucked in a sharp breath. “You know what that word does to me, Leonardo.”

Leo smiled and bit beside Logan's nipple. “Come and get it, O'Hara.”

Leo and Logan laughed as Finn scrambled to tackle Leo back onto the bed and kiss him. They were a tangle of limbs and lips pressed into skin. Logan shifted to grasp Leo's jaw and bring him into his own firm kiss and Leo couldn't help the giggle that made its way up through his chest and out of his mouth.

Finn lifted his head up from where he had been working on leaving a mark just below Leo's jaw. His lips were red and his hair was still messy from sleep. “What's so funny?”

Leo shook his head. “Nothing, sweetheart,” he said, cupping Finn’s cheek and touching his and Logan's temples together. “I just love you very much.”

Finn softened. He looked between the two of them. “This feels like my birthday.”

Logan pressed a soundless kiss to Leo's neck, peeking out at Finn. “Do you love your life?”

Leo suddenly got a flashback to Logan's birthday, the first year they were dating. Sweaty skin, shaking bodies, a closeness like Leo had never known. He shivered at the memory.

It seemed Finn remembered, too, because a knowing smile spread its way across his face. “I really do.” He kissed Logan deeply, then Leo. When he pulled away his brown eyes were warm. “Happy birthday, nutter butter.”

Leo smiled at him and reached up to tug at his hair. “Come kiss me, O'Hara, I want my gift.”

When his husbands pressed him into the pillows, mouths insistent and smiles familiar, Leo sank back for a moment and basked in the warmth. This was the bliss he'd been dreaming about, he thought. He opened his eyes and saw green and brown, tan marble and freckled porcelain, twin, toothy grins being directed his way. He put a hand on each of their bodies and drew them closer.

Not a dream, he corrected himself. This bliss was better than anything he could ever imagine.

Have some (late) Christmas cheer. Finn would make a great HAB (husband and boyfriend) during his retirement!

All credits to @lumosinlove !!

Finn waved a hand to the guards outside of the players box, flashing his pass and quickly jogging to the door. He was panting a bit, running late from a department meeting at school, and stumbled through the doorway a bit. Pascal and Celeste Dumais turned to look at him, both with matching amused expressions, as he made his way to his seat.

“Hi, hi, sorry I’m late,” he breathed. He gave Celeste a kiss on the cheek and clasped Dumo’s hand. “Did I miss warm-ups? We had a meeting after school, last one before the Christmas break, and it went way over.”

“Ouais,” Pascal said. “Puck drop in a couple.” His eyes were mischievous. “You know, it’s okay if you’re not here for warm-ups every time. Your boys look good.”

“Yeah, but I didn’t give them a good luck kiss.”

Celeste snorted slightly. “They’ll be fine, Finn.”

He nudged her gently. “You don’t know that. Logan gets very upset when he doesn’t get a good luck kiss.”

Pascal was shaking his head. “He’s got you wrapped around his finger, mon fils.”

Celeste scuffed the back of his head. “As if I don’t have you in the same position.”

Finn watched as Dumo’s eyes lit up and he leaned over to kiss the side of her head. “Ouais, you do.” He nudged his chin towards the ice. “Allez, puck drop.”

Sure enough, the players were taking to the ice for the start of the game. Leo was in goal, and Finn watched him jump up and down a few times to warm up his legs. Logan was on the outside of the circle, bodying up to an Anaheim player, while Sirius took the face-off. Another forward, a young guy by the name of Ethan Binesi, was their other winger, eyes intently on where Sirius’ stick was splayed across his knees. It was a trip, still, seeing Logan in a Lions jersey again. He’d taken back the number 10, which looked just as gorgeous on him now as it had on his first Harvard jersey. He saw Logan look to Leo briefly, give a nod- I love you- and then he readied his stick. The ref hovered the puck above the dot and the game began.

Sirius won the face-off, immediately snapping it back to Logan, who shot off and stick handled his way around an Anaheim player. He had his head up, searching for a lane, finding Binesi who had faked out his own guy on the opposite side and was hanging out by their offensive zone dot. Logan sent the puck flying onto the Binsei’s stick blade for a slap shot, but the Anaheim goalie blocked it.

It was a physical game, Logan and Thomas getting sent to the box after someone got a little too close to Leo, who held his own spectacularly in the five on three that resulted. Finn couldn’t help but be absolutely smitten as he watched them, as he always was when he got to come and see them play. He loved the game, he missed it, and he was happy teaching, incredibly so- but there was something else about being able to spectate his husbands like he was, being able to finally watch them together after so long of Logan being apart from them for the majority of the year. They were all deliriously happy, sparking that same insatiable feeling they’d had when they’d gotten together, engaged, married- Finn’s heart stopped in his chest every time he saw their shoes paired together by the door, every time he looked up from grading at the table and found Logan sitting on the counter, keeping Leo company while he cooked them dinner. He wanted them forever- which, he guessed, was already implied by the whole marriage thing. But he wanted to marry them over and over again, preferably every day, if he had his way. He’d dance with them like he had at their wedding, spinning Leo around the dance floor by his hips, holding Logan close during softer songs. He’d kiss them like he had at their ceremony, when he had taken each of their faces in between his palms and kissed them so deeply he had almost knocked them over, even Leo, who had a few inches on him.

Finn watched them shake hands with the other team after a demanding third period. They’d won 1-0, a shutout for Leo and an assist for Logan, but it wasn’t much of a lead. Logan would inevitably want to seethe a bit in the car, Leo going over everything that could have gone wrong that would have made them give up their lead. That was one thing Finn didn’t miss about hockey: the constant reviewing every little thing he’d done and feeling like the weight of the entire team was on his shoulders. He found it easier, though, to help Logan and Leo let loose from those experiences, having gone through it himself. He kept finding creative ways to take their minds off of it- asking Leo to read him his students’ essays out loud so he could fairly grade them, rubbing Logan’s feet while he colored in an adult coloring book (he’d really taken to them recently). He’d gotten really good at mocktails, too, so when his husbands were in between games or intense training sessions, they didn’t have to drink alcohol but could still enjoy the taste and the conversation that came with Finn mixing them drinks.

He gave Pascal and Celeste each a hug, waving good-bye to other family members in the box, and scurried down to go to the locker room. When he entered, it felt a little like he’d never left. There were a few new players, a few not. Sirius, Remus, and Thomas each came up to give him a hug, and little once-rookie Cole held out his fist for Finn to bump. Even Kuny was still there- although, it seemed like he was never going to leave. He was almost a permanent part of the structure of Gryffindor Stadium at that point.

He spotted Logan and Leo, stalls side-by-side, at the other end from where he’d entered, and walked up, placing a hand on Leo’s head as he was unlacing his skates. He jerked his head up in initial surprise, which softened immediately upon seeing Finn. His blue eyes twinkled out at Finn from his otherwise flushed and sweaty face. “Hi, sweetheart. How are you?”

“I’m sorry,” Finn said. He pressed a hard kiss to Leo’s forehead. “I’m sorry, my meeting ran over, and I wanted to be here to kiss you good luck, but it went so late-”

“Sh, it’s okay, honey,” Leo said. He looked amused and leaned up to kiss Finn properly. Finn felt the tension in his body melt away and he rested his hands on Leo’s strong shoulders. “I’m happy to kiss you whenever you have time.”

“All the time,” Finn said, nodding eagerly. “Preferably all the time. What do you say we all quit working and just make out all day, every day?”

Leo blushed. “Well.”

“Ouais, I like that idea,” Logan chirped. He was smirking when Finn turned to him, even as he leaned over to kiss Leo’s cheek. “Especially if it makes you blush like that.”

Leo rolled his eyes but was smiling at Logan. “Stop that.”

“Non, non. You can’t return me.” He kissed Leo’s cheek again, then his lips. “Forever.”

Finn’s heart jolted at the words, even at Logan’s sarcastic tone. “You hear that, Knut? Grumpy says forever, so I guess that's the verdict.”

“Non, I’m not grumpy,” Logan retorted. He looked at Finn petulantly. “And if I am, it’s only because I missed out on my good luck kiss.”

“I’m sorry.” Finn pouted. “Forgive me, baby? It’s almost Christmas.”

Logan smiled, his nose scrunching. “Ouais. Bisou.”

Finn complied, taking Logan’s face in his hands like he’d been thinking about doing all game and tilting it back as he kissed him hard. Logan smiled against his mouth and rested a hand on Finn’s side, rubbing up and down slowly. When they pulled apart, Finn kissed his forehead and looked down at him. “Better?”

“Ouais,” Logan said with a soft smile. He went back to unlacing his skates. “But I think we would’ve won by more if you’d kissed me before the game.”

Leo snorted. “Right. Because that’s the reason we hardly had any net.”

“Sh, nut,” Logan said. “No jinxes.”

“What jinxes?”

“The superstitions.”

“I thought we’d established that we didn’t adhere to our superstitions, and that’s why we only scraped by?”

“Okay,” Finn interrupted. They both looked up at him suddenly. “No more hockey talk. Time to shower, home, dinner, sex, and bed.”

Sirius, who was in the stall next to Logan, choked a little on the water he was sipping. “Jesus, O’Hara,” he said. “I did not miss your locker room talk.”

Finn stuck his tongue out at him. “You’re just as bad with Loops and you know it.”

Sirius rolled his eyes but didn’t deny it. “Stop distracting the boys while they get undressed.” He seemed to realize what he had said the second he said it. “Wait-”

Finn’s eyebrows shot up with a mischievous grin. “With absolute pleasure.” He turned to his husbands, who were watching him with fond smiles. “You heard the captain. Get undressed, let’s go.”

Sirius just sighed roughly and went to the showers.

Leo smacked Finn lightly on the hip as he stood up to remove the rest of his padding. “You’re such a mence, you know that?”

Finn just watched appreciatively as more of his body was revealed with each article taken off. “You love me.” He grinned wider. “You married this menace baby.” He put his hands on either side of Leo’s hips, now free of everything except his thin Under Armour layer. “No take backs.”

“Hm, I’m not so sure about that,” Leo said, but he kissed Finn gently. “I’m going to shower, then we will go home.”

“And then we’ll have dinner, and then-”

“D’accord, rouge,” Logan laughed. “Ouais, sounds good.”

“Yay! Yay, yay, yay, my favorite.”

“Tu est fou, chérie.” Logan let out a sigh as he pulled off the rest of his clothes, too, then grabbed a towel from his locker. “D’accord, we’ll be right back.” He kissed Finn’s shoulder as he passed. “Stay out of trouble, oui?”

“No promises, babe, you know that.”

Logan just pinched his hip as he and Leo walked to the showers.

***

An hour later, when Finn walked into the living room after his own shower, he encountered his boys not following his ‘no more hockey’ instructions.

“Ouais,” Logan was saying, sat at the counter. He was talking to Leo, who was working on dinner. “We weren’t maintaining our triangle shape in the attacking zone, Le, it just made it-”

“Whoa,” Finn interrupted. He wrapped his arms around Logan’s shoulders to squeeze. “Time out. I thought I said no more hockey talk?”

Leo, at least, tried to look a little sheepish. “We were just-”

“Nope, nope. You already reviewed it all with coach, I’m sure of it.” He pressed a hard kiss to Logan’s cheek, the muscles tense with a smile under his lips. “Home time is for relaxation. Home time is Finn-time.”

Leo laughed as he stirred something on the stove. “Finn-time?”

“Mmhm,” Finn affirmed. “Because I don’t see you all day, so home time is for hanging out with Finn, eating dinner with Finn, cuddling with Finn, and doing you-know-what with Finn.”

Leo’s eyes were bright as he looked over at him. “You-know-what? What’s that exactly?”

“You know exactly what that is, my beautiful nutter butter baby.” He rested his chin on Logan’s shoulder. “So no more hockey talk tonight. Just Finn-time.”

“Ouais,” Logan sighed. He leaned his head against Finn’s. “Sounds good.”

“Finn and Logan time,” Leo whispered. He leaned across the counter to press a kiss to each of their foreheads. When he pulled back, he was smiling so gently at them that Finn thought he would seep into the floorboards. “My favorite.”

what are some of your head cannons for the cubs ?🤍

Haha, this is so cute! I've never answered an ask like this! I'd be happy to answer more specific headcanons in the future if you want. It's a great writing and characterization exercise, actually!

One of my FAVORITES is that Leo has a natural affinity for languages, and he takes classes. I think he learns Spanish and Portuguese and then they go to various LatAm countries, where he discovers he LOVES the food (if you haven't tried Peruvian or Colombian food, you are MISSING OUT, especially their soups and stews). He then begins to cook more of it at home!

Following that vein, I think he becomes really interested in Middle Eastern and South Asian cooking. It's VERY well seasoned and balanced, and there are lots of easy ways to get tasty protein in those cuisines, of the plant and non-plant variety.

Logan loves the outdoors. Like, LOVES loves the outdoors. He needs a hiking trip at least once a year, and wants to move to a more rural area when they retire. I think he gets upset by climate change, and then he and the boys try to find ways to reduce their environmental impact as a family (supporting local, sustainable businesses, eating more plant-based, buying sustainable products (everything from clothes to shampoo), DONATING, volunteer work during the summers, etc.).

Logan also is a yard work FIEND!!!!!!! Not great at cleaning INSIDE without supervision, but he loves to have his hands busy. Yardwork also requires a less delicate touch, which is good, because he's not a very delicate guy.

They get a dog (a rescue, obviously, because Leo LOVES the mutts at the shelter), and Finn takes it on runs almost every morning, especially when he retires and needs to stay active. I also think he joins a pickleball league, a pick-up basketball league, a pick-up hockey league, etc. Anything to stay busy!

Finn tries REALLY HARD to get better at French, but it's super difficult for him. He gets frustrated that it doesn't come easily, because he's very academic generally, and it takes a long time for him to be semi-fluent. He tries, though, and Leo and Logan love him for it.

If they decide to have a kid or two (or three), it's after they all retire, so they're a bit on the older side in comparison to all the other parents.

Obviously, Finn becomes an English teacher after he retires, and Logan becomes a SAHD/personal trainer. Leo does a lot of non-profit work for inclusivity in sports, which takes him all over the country. It also helps that he speaks multiple languages, so he can communicate with a larger demographic. He helps to get lots of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ kids and teens involved in hockey.

They had THREE NHL salaries for a long time, and they CERTAINLY don't need all of it, especially since they all work in their retirement. They keep enough to live comfortably and donate the rest.

Oh my goodness the home video of Finn was so precious if we see Leo or Logan’s home videos I could see Leo playing with one of those little toy kitchens 🥹🥹 or Logan being a clingy annoying baby brother to his sisters

This was a fun one, I have to say! Enjoy some French-speaking tiny Cubs!

Please keep sending me more prompts if you'd like!!!!

“All right,” Finn said. He slapped his hands on his knees and stood up from where he was knelt on the floor in front of his computer. “Should be all set.”

“Whose are we starting with?” Leo asked. He was resting with his back to Logan's chest, legs stretched along the length of the couch.

“Why, with our resident grump,” Finn said, which made Logan narrow his eyes. Finn winked at him and then lifted Leo's legs and sat down with them across his lap. Leo closed his eyes in satisfaction when Finn began to massage his ankles. “Sore, baby?”

Leo nodded. “Mmhm, thank you.” Logan kissed his curls.

After watching the O’Hara's home movies, Finn had made it a project to convert the tapes into digital movie files on a USB, which had been distributed to his parents and Alex. Since then it had become a project to do so for Logan and Leo, too. He'd asked their parents to send them boxes of the tapes and, after a few weeks, the USB drives were finally ready to be put in Finn's laptop and hooked up to their TV.

It had seemed like a good idea to end a date night. He’d taken them out to dinner at a new Turkish place near the park then had bought them ice cream while they'd sat in the grass and watched the sunset.

Now, they were showered and in shorts and sweatshirts.  Logan had his hood of Leo’s Saints one pulled up, waves poking out the front, and Leo had his nose buried in the neckline of Finn's Harvard hockey hoodie. Finn smiled at them and brought Leo’s foot up to kiss his ankle.

Leo wrinkled his nose at him playfully. “Gross.”

“Nuh uh,” Finn said. “I love these ankles.” He ran a hand up Leo’s calf to his thigh. “And these legs.”

Leo kicked him lightly. Finn just kissed his ankle again.

“Allez,” Logan said. “It's starting.”

Indeed, the video had loaded. The Tremblay's living room appeared on their television screen. Sydney and Aubrey were standing with their hockey bags and a backpack each. Iva asked them a question in French, and they responded excitedly.

“This is their first away hockey tournament,” Logan explained. “They were gone the whole weekend. Papa went, but Noelle and I had to stay home with Maman.”

Leo looked up at him. “Do you remember it?”

Logan rolled his eyes. His face was red. “Non. But I've heard this story a lot.”

Finn perked up and turned to the screen again.

It seemed like the two older girls had finished their introduction. Marius was there, shuffling to the door. His face disappeared from the frame, only his shoulders and chest visible as he leaned in to give Iva a kiss goodbye. The camera then righted to show Noelle there, too, giving her older sisters a hug. She couldn't have been more than four or five.

All of a sudden, from out of the frame, there was a yelp and a cry of a small child. A tiny Logan, dressed in only a pair of black briefs, came running into the frame. He was scrawny and small, his skin tan, even then. His hair was wild and wavy, lighter than it was now, and his face was red and scrunched up as he barreled into Sydney.

Sydney looked to her mother a little exasperatedly, speaking in rapid French. But she complied, picking Logan up and kissing his cheek. It seemed like she was trying to console him. Aubrey joined in, taking his hand and talking to him in a soothing voice. But he wasn't having any of it and continued crying.

Beside Finn, Leo laughed loudly. “Oh my God, you really are the baby of your family.”

Logan whacked his hip lightly. “I was two.”

Finn cooed. He kissed his hand and pressed it to Logan's forearm where it rested over Leo's stomach. “Little baby Lolo.”

Logan just huffed.

Back on the TV, Logan was now in Aubrey's arms as she kissed his cheek goodbye. She tickled his tummy and said something playful in French. He giggled and wrapped his arms around her neck to give her a big hug. Marius said something to her and she nodded, calling Noelle over. Noelle took Logan from Aubrey's arms and held him against her hip, even though he was almost as big as her.

The two older girls and Marius gathered their bags, waving goodbye to their siblings and mother with wide smiles. When Logan realized they were leaving, he burst into tears again, reaching out towards them.

“Non, Lolo,” Noelle said. She said something else that Finn didn't know and kissed his cheek. But he was still crying.

“Geez,” Finn said. “You'd think you'd have been dehydrated by now.”

Leo laughed and leaned up to kiss Logan's jaw. “You've always been such a sweetheart, huh?”

“Hm,” Logan hummed. “My sisters left me. It was traumatic.”

Leo snorted and wrapped Logan's arms tighter around him. He winked at Finn before saying, “I think you've just always been grumpy so you get affection.”

“Non.”

Finn laughed before a sound from the TV grabbed his attention again.

Iva had panned over to one of the couches in the living room. Noelle and Logan were standing and looking out the window at where Finn knew their driveway was. Noelle looked at him and said something encouraging, demonstrating a wave. “Au revoir!” she said. “Lolo, au revoir!”

Logan stared at her for a moment before smiling and doing the same. He repeated the phrase and said something else, looking out the window to where, presumably, Marius and the girls were driving away. Noelle had a hand on his back and laughed at him, which made Iva laugh. Then, Noelle looked at her mother with wide eyes, said something, and hopped down from the couch and ran away. Logan saw her leave abruptly and stared after her for a second with wide green eyes before bursting into tears again. Iva tisked and said something before the camera went dark.

Leo was laughing, and even Logan looked resigned to being amused. Finn furrowed his brows and tugged on Leo's ankle. “What'd Noelle say?”

Leo laughed. “She'd forgotten to turn the TV off downstairs and left to go do it.” He looked up at Logan fondly. “He didn't like being ditched again.”

Logan sunk back into the cushions with a sheepish smile on his face. Finn bit his lip around his own grin.

“You know,” he said. “That's the same smile you've had since you were little.” He stood and went to kiss Logan's forehead. “My bashful baby.”

“You were very cute, honey,” Leo said. He turned to kiss Logan briefly. When he pulled away, he smiled gently. “Your eyes are the same color.”

Logan bumped their foreheads together lightly. “Merci.”

Finn took one last longing look at them before spinning to face the TV again. “Okay,” he said, dropping to a crouch. “Sunshine time?”

“Ouais,” Logan said. Finn heard the sound of him kissing Leo's cheeks. “Es-tu prêt, mon coeur?”

“Ugh,” Leo groaned. “Little me was so embarrassing.”

“What?” Finn asked as he looked for the file. He found it, clicked on it, and stood to face them again. He had his hands on his hips. “What do you mean?”

Leo shrugged and dipped his chin into his sweatshirt neck. “I don't know, I just- I was kind of cringey.”

Finn shook his head and took Leo's face in his hands. “I'm sure you were your bubbly, sunshine self,” he said, kissing Leo on the nose. “Who we love, by the way.”

“Oui,” Logan agreed. He reached up to squish Leo's cheeks. “We love you and your chubby cheeks.”

“Yeah, we've seen pictures,” Finn agreed, leaning down to kiss above Logan’s hands wetly a few times. “You and your cheeks and your cute little button nose.” He booped said nose before straightening. “Which is still the exact same, by the way.”

Leo blushed and sank further into his sweatshirt. “I love you.”

“Love you,” Finn said. He flopped back down onto the couch to rub Leo's ankles some more. “Here we go. The ‘Sunshine Show.’”

Leo kicked him again, and Finn just kissed his ankle once more.

The video opened pointing at the grass. Eloise muttered in French briefly before raising it. It showed the Knut's New Orleans backyard, shaded by trees. In the background was Wyatt, whistling at the grill. And in the foreground was-

“Oh Mon Dieu,” Logan laughed. “Of course it's you.”

In the foreground sat Leo, about three or four years old, because he didn't yet have the gray streak, playing with a large kitchen set. He was sitting in the grass in shorts and a T-shirt, the sun shining against his hair. He looked so similar to how he did now: bright blonde curls and crystal blue eyes; round, squishable face and button nose; long limbs that were gangly against his frame. He was even tall, for a young child. Finn hadn't been that tall until he was at least six. Every now and then he would look at his dad and get a determined look on his face. He stuck his tongue through his teeth and focused on the fake stove in front of him.

“Oh my God,” Finn said. He squeezed Leo’s calf excitedly. “Tongue.”

Leo laughed. “Yeah, my dad does it, too.”

“Whatcha doin’, sweetheart?” asked Eloise from behind the camera.

“I'm cookin’, mama!” Leo said. His accent was thick. “Like daddy!”

Eloise asked him something in French and Leo nodded, responding in kind, before grabbing something from the fake counter. He turned to her and beamed, holding out a fake plate with fake eggs and bacon.

“Merci, honey.”

“De rien!” Leo replied, then turned happily back to his kitchen. He was humming to himself as he puttered around.

Finn looked across the couch to find Leo burying his face further in his sweatshirt, face bright red. Logan caught Finn's eyes and smiled. He leaned down to whisper something in French in Leo's ear, which just made him flush even more and turn to hide his face in the crook of Logan's elbow. Logan laughed and wrapped him up closer, pressing a hard kiss to his curls. “Oh, mon soleil.”

In the video, Wyatt called something out in French. Eloise called something back and then zoomed in on Leo once more. He was still intently focusing on his toy.

“C'mon, sweetheart, daddy says dinner's ready.”

“But I'm cookin’, mama!”

Eloise crouched down, pointing the camera square in his face. “Daddy said that you can help cut the steak, honey, and make the herb butter to toast on the bread.”

Leo gasped, standing immediately, all long limbs and bouncy curls, and made a start towards the house. He stopped abruptly and came back to his kitchen set. He grabbed a couple of plastic baskets and began putting some of the pieces away. “I gotta clean first, mama.”

Eloise laughed fondly. “You can do that after dinner, honey, don't worry about it. I'll help you, then we'll make some strawberry shortcake.”

Leo beamed at her. “Merci, mama!” He ran forward and hugged her around her legs and waist before dashing towards the house once more. “I love you!” he called.

“I love you, too!”

Eloise sighed happily behind the camera, following Leo with it until he opened the glass back door excitedly, calling out to his father in French. She finally turned it off after the door closed behind him.

Finn stood to shut his laptop, then turned to lay himself on top of Leo. He rested his chin on Leo's chest. Leo had his eyes closed and was hiding in Logan's arms still. Logan was biting his lip and trying not to laugh. He succeeded for a few moments before he made eye contact with Finn. They immediately burst out giggling, which grew louder until they were laughing so hard they were jostling Leo.

“Stop!” Leo whined. “It's so embarrassing.”

“Non, soleil,” Logan protested. He bent his neck to kiss along Leo's cheek. “Trop mignon.”

“The cutest little sunshine baby,” Finn agreed. He pressed his lips repeatedly to Leo's other cheek. Leo tried to hide his face again, but Finn could feel his cheeks raising into a smile under their lips. Finn pulled back to kiss him on the mouth, then Logan. “You both were so cute.” He scuffed Logan's head. “You were tiny.”

Logan stuck his tongue out. “Soleil was tall and gangly.”

“Hey, I didn't say anything, why am I being dragged into this?”

Logan kissed his head. “Désolé, mon amour. You were a very cute gangly boy.”

Leo snorted. “I'll take your word for it, cry baby.”

“Va te faire.”

Finn barked out a laugh. “Baby, I love you, but your sisters left for a weekend and you had a meltdown.” He brushed Logan's hair back from his face. “You've always been a more sensitive thing than you let on.”

Logan just kissed his wrist. “Je t'aime.”

Finn smiled and let his weight go, snuggling into Leo's chest. “I vote for mandatory cuddle time.”

Leo laughed and rubbed a palm up and down his back. “Now who's the demanding one?”

“Mm,” Finn hummed. “I have my moments.” He yawned. “Sleep.”

Leo shuddered. “Okay, the Logan impression is getting scarily good.”

“Yeah, c'mon, man, stop stealing my thunder.”

Leo threw his head back and laughed with his whole body at Logan's imitation of Finn. “Oh my God, you both are so weird.”

Logan let out a little satisfied sound and kissed Leo's neck. “Sleep. For a little while.”

“Okay,” Leo said. Finn felt him shift a bit to get comfortable. “Okay, sleep.”

“Tomorrow, though,” Finn said. “We watch more home videos. It's supposed to rain.”

“Whatever you want, mon amour,” Logan whispered. His and Leo's breathing had evened out. “Anything you want.”

Finn closed his eyes and snuggled further into the warmth.

One of ur asks by an anon said something like “Leo’s always the comforter” and I agree but it’s because he’s SO GOOD AT COMFORTING!! He’s so perceptive and caring and SO SO SWEET HE ALWAYS KNOWS WHAT TO SAY!!! so can we get some instances of Leo being the perfect boyfriend/husband to his boys?? They deserve it so much !(just like he deserves them!)

- sincerely the captain of the “LEO KNUT IS A *PERFECT* ANGEL” ship

I am SO glad for this ask, because I've had this idea in my head for a while that Finn LOVES forever, but he doesn't know if his boys are as enthusiastic as him, if that makes sense? Like, he is so obsessed with them, and becomes more obsessed with them each day, like he's stuck in this eternal honeymoon phase, and he's worried that they don't feel as fiercely as he does. He knows they love him, OBVIOUSLY, and that they always will, but he's worried this passion that he feels isn't reciprocated and that his boys won't be satisfied emotionally, physically, and mentally in the way he knows he will always be.

And who better to comfort him than a little (tall) ray of sunshine (Logan is there, too, duh, but he's a sleepy head who hasn't had coffee, so he's not much help for a few minutes, haha!)?

So after a REALLY long introduction, have some conflicted Harzy and a fondly exasperated nutter butter (and a tired grumpy Tremz). :)

P.S. Anon, you're SO FUNNY for the "leo is a ____ angel" hashtag shout out, haha! I try and do a different one each post. I think I've done it for all but two or three, and it's so fun to think of them!

“Le, are you bored?”

Leo looked up from his, frankly perfect, hangover breakfast, to look Finn in the eye. “Huh?”

“Like, are you- I don’t know, bored of this?”

Leo took another bit of his pancake and a piece of bacon. “Of what, sweetheart?”

There was a brief silence in which Finn bit the inside of his cheek nervously. “Us?”

“Woah.” Leo’s fork clattered against his plate. He spun in his high top chair to face Finn directly and take his hands. “Woah, honey, no. Where is this coming from?”

Finn let out a nervous breath and looked down into his lap. “When you- yesterday, at the festival, during the Wallows set…” He shrugged. “I don’t know, you just sang that one song really loud? With Regulus?”

“‘Cause it’s a good song honey. And Reg loves that band.”

Finn nodded. “I know. I know, but it just got me thinking…” He looked up at Leo through his lashes with worried brown eyes. “Are you bored? In this relationship?” His breath hitched. “I don’t want you to be bored.”

Despite himself, Leo smiled. “Oh, honey no.” He drew Finn into a hug. “No, Finn, of course I’m not bored. That’s not possible with you around.” He kissed the side of Finn’s head. “Did you think that I was?”

Finn shrugged. “I don’t know. You just sang the song really excitedly.”

Leo laughed. “‘Cause it’s a good song, honey, like I said. I really liked it in high school.”

“Yeah, but- you’d tell me if you’re bored, right, peanut?”

“Oh, you’re so sweet.” Leo pulled back to hold Finn’s face in his hands. His cheeks were a little wet under Leo’s lips when he kissed them. “Of course I would, baby, but I’m telling you, that’s not gonna happen.” He smiled gently. “You’re really worried about this, aren’t you?”

Finn nodded, his mouth forming a little pout. “Yeah.” He looked at Leo’s face for a moment, his fingers twitching on Leo’s back. “And you don’t- you don’t get bored during sex, do you?”

Leo laughed, tucking Finn’s face into his neck once more. “Oh, baby.”

“It’s not funny!”

“No, no, it’s not, sweetheart, I’m sorry.” Leo bit his lip against a grin as Finn let out another wet sound into his neck. “Finn, baby, I promise I don’t get bored. You’re so good to me.”

“Yeah?”

“Of course.” He squeezed Finn tighter. “You make me feel so good, baby, every time.” He turned his head to whisper in Finn’s ear. “And if something doesn’t feel so good, or we don’t want something, we talk and we change it up. Or we try something new. You know Lo and I are especially partial to that vibrator you got us.”

Finn laughed wetly into his neck and pressed into Leo harder. “Yeah, you are.” He let out a sigh. “It’s just- we haven’t had sex in a while.”

Leo snorted. “Like, five days, sweetheart.”

“But that’s a long time.”

“Eternity.”

Finn pinched his side and sighed. “I just want to make sure everything’s okay.”

Leo felt himself soften. “Yeah, baby, it’s okay. We were just really busy this week, I think, with your students’ exams, and Lo and I starting summer training and deep cleaning the apartment. And then we had the festival the past few days, and now we’re all hungover. It just happens, sometimes.”

“It’s still too long.”

“I agree,” Leo placated, cupping the back of Finn’s head gently. “Way too long.” After a moment of silence, Leo kissed Finn’s shoulder. “Tell you what, sweetheart. Let’s eat and go for a walk, let ourselves work off this hangover, then we’ll spend the next few days just doing nothing but being together, okay? I’ll take you both to that nice steak restaurant you like tonight, then we’ll come back here and see how we feel. And if we want to have sex, we have sex, and if we don’t, we don’t.” He grinned against Finn’s jaw and bit it. “But I have a feeling it’ll be the former.”

Finn laughed and nodded, pulling back to wipe his flushed cheeks. “Yeah, me, too.” He leaned forward and kissed Leo gently, then took his hands and kissed his rings. “Thank you, Le, baby. I’m sorry I was so worried.”

Leo shook his head. “Don’t be, sweetheart, it’s okay. Lo and I are so lucky to have a husband who cares about our pleasure so much.” He squeezed Finn’s fingers and touched their temples together. “But you don’t have to worry, Finn. We’ll be old and gray and still want you.”

Finn kissed him quickly. “Promise?”

“Promise.” Leo kissed him once, twice, three more times before pulling back and turning towards his plate. “Now, eat your breakfast, c’mon. Lo will wake up soon, then we can get ready and go for our walk.”

Finn nodded. “Okay.” He bumped his head against Leo’s shoulder. “I love you.”

Leo kissed the top of his head. “I love you, too.”

From behind them, there were footsteps, and a few seconds later Leo felt two arms come and wrap around his shoulders. A head bumped into the back of his neck with a groan. “Café.”

Leo smiled and turned to kiss Logan’s forehead. “In the coffee maker, sweetheart. I put your plate in the oven to keep it warm.”

“Merci.” Logan came around to kiss Leo slowly, then Finn, slumping into his side with another groan. “Ça va?”

“Yeah.” Finn rested their heads together and wrapped an arm around Logan’s waist. He looked up at Leo. “Love you.”

“Mm, je t’aime.” Logan stretched and went to go pour his coffee and get his plate. “What are we doing today?”

“Each other, hopefully.” Leo jumped when Logan accidentally slammed the oven door shut with a bang then straightened, blinking hard. He laughed at him. “Just kidding. Well, kind of.” Leo settled a hand on Finn’s thigh and rubbed. “It’s just been a while. We were thinking of going for a walk today, then I’ll take you out for dinner at the nice steak place. Sound good?”

“Ouais,” Logan nodded. He was still flicking his eyes between them. “But what about-?”

Leo winked. “That can happen after if you want.”

Logan moved his head more rapidly now. “Ouais, I want.” He sighed and walked around the counter again to set his plate down, then practically fell against Leo’s side. “It’s been forever. I want you.”

Leo shook his head fondly. “You’re so dramatic.” He kissed Logan’s cheek and patted his hip firmly. “C’mon, sweetheart, go sit and eat. We’ve got a long day ahead of us.”

Logan sighed and went to sit on Finn’s other side, moaning when he took a bite of pancake and eggs. “Délicieux.”

Leo smiled at Logan for a moment before looking at Finn. “Good?”

Finn nodded, a small smile on his face. “Good. I’m good.” He considered for a second before kissing Leo’s shoulder. “Are you good?”

Leo nodded. “I’m so good, baby. I’m so good.”

“Good.”

“What is going on?”

Leo and Finn turned to look at Logan, who was shoveling food in his mouth so fast that Leo was certain he wasn’t even chewing. They laughed and Finn nudged him. “We’ll get some food in you first and tell you.”

“Mm, ouais.” Logan swallowed and looked up at them. “Are you sure we can’t have sex before our walk and after dinner?”

Leo grinned mischievously. He looked at Finn, winked, then stood and began to walk towards the bathroom. “You know, I think a shower is just what I need right now.”

There was a curse from them both as they both tried to finish eating. Leo had just pulled his shirt off when forks were clinking and there was the sound of plates being put in the sink. He smiled to himself and turned the shower on.

“Boys, I’m getting in!”

And at the sound of thudding footsteps, Leo felt his chest warm and turned his face up to the spray, yearning for the moment where he felt their skin on his.

No, he thought to himself. No, he’d never get bored of this.

Oo so active I love!! Can you do a Finnlo fight with old scars/trauma resurfacing? And Leo heals all, I love when he gets one on one with each and helps them understand each other better.

Oof, I do love a good FinnLo working through trauma sort of situation, it has to be said. And Leo hates seeing them hurt, poor sunshine baby. :(

HOWEVER, I do think it's kind of beautiful that, no matter how long you know someone, there is always more to learn about each other, something that I see FinnLo kind of struggling to recognize sometimes. So, have some (yikes) FinnLo ANGST with a perceptive and intelligent sunshine coming to help ease the pain.

“Salut, maman.”

“How are you, sweetheart?” his mother asked in French.

“Bien.” Logan switched the phone to his other hand as he put the dried utensils away. “Le just made a nice dinner. Are you on your way to the airport?”

On the other side of the line, Iva let out a sigh. “Actually, Lobear, I have some bad news. Your father got caught up in a work thing- one of the administrators in the hospital committed fraud and now he’s having to deal with the fallout. It’s a mess, sweetheart, we’re not going to make it.”

“Quoi?” Logan sat down heavily at one of the counter stools. “What do you mean? Maman, can’t you come?”

“Logan, I can’t just leave your father and go to France right now. He’s stressed out and working long hours, and-”

“But I-” Logan took a breath and rested his forehead in his hand. “Sorry, I was just excited for a family vacation. The girls are all coming next week.”

“Logan.” His mother’s voice was stern, but still sad. “I know, sweetheart, I know. I’m so sorry. The girls are upset as well.” She let out a sigh. “We’ll try and visit you and the boys at some point this summer before you have to go back to New York, but it’s looking really bad. There’s a lot of frustrated doctors and patients.”

Logan nodded, even though she couldn’t see him. “Ouais. Ouais, I understand.” He hung his head back and tried to fight against the tears forming in his eyes. “I love you. Tell dad I say hi.”

“I love you, too, Logan. Sleep tight, my love.”

The line went dead, and Logan slouched forward to rest his head in his hands. He took a shaky breath and let out a soft sound. Time with his boys in Nice was invaluable, but it had been ages since the Tremblay family had been all together and not surrounded by hockey, just each other. And Leo and Finn had been so excited to come on a family vacation. Logan felt his chest ache for them.

“Hey, sweetheart.” Leo came through the doorway. “Finn’s making a fire out on the- whoa.” He stopped abruptly and came up to rest a hand on Logan’s back. “Lo, what’s wrong?”

Logan quickly wiped away the tears that had fallen on his cheeks. “Everything’s fine, soleil,” he whispered in French. He was too tired for English.

“No, it’s not.” Leo guided Logan into his chest and they wrapped their arms around each other. “Can you tell me what happened?”

“There’s an emergency at my dad’s work- one of the administrators committed fraud, and he’s having to deal with the legal stuff. It’s a complete mess. Maman just called to say they can’t make it.”

“Oh, mon coeur.” Leo squeezed him tightly. “Oh, Logan, I’m so sorry.”

“I know.” Logan felt his voice shaking. “It’s just, I was so excited to finally have a family-”

“Lovers, I’ve got the fire started!” Finn’s voice came from down the hallway. “What do you want to drink, we’ve got-” He stopped in the doorway. “What’s going on, what’s happening?” When Logan groaned and more tears slipped out, Finn’s face dropped and he rushed over. “Hey, baby, what-?”

“I just wanted them to be here with you-”

“Sh, I know, honey, it’s alright.”

“Non, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I just miss my parents, and-”

“Lo, English, I can’t understand.”

Logan looked up at him from his place in Leo’s chest. “I was.”

Finn shook his head, eyes pained. “No, Lo, you weren’t. I don’t like this, you need to tell me.”

Logan bit his lip and tilted his head back, slightly frustrated. It hurt, sometimes, having to translate the things he was feeling into words that Finn could understand. And Logan was tired, so tired, because they had gotten up early, and had gone for a long run, and then spent the whole day wandering around, and his head hurt. It hurt so badly, trying to switch between languages, and translating, and communicating. He let out a sigh that must have come across harsh, because Finn took a step back, cheeks red. “Hey, whoa. Lo, what the hell?”

Leo looked frantically between them. “Finn.”

“No, I don’t like not knowing what he’s saying! Logan, c’mon-”

“Finn, I don’t think you should push-”

“Allez,” Logan said softly, breathing in and out through his mouth, which just seemed to make Finn panic more. He rubbed his hands over his face and stood, heading towards the patio door. “Allez, I need some space.”

“Logan. English, please, I need to understand, I can’t understand you.”

“Finn.” Leo’s voice was soft. “Finn, he just needs a minute. Just give him a minute.”

The last thing Logan heard was Finn’s frustrated huff, and then he closed the patio door behind him.

***

French was tricky for Finn, Leo had figured out. He tried his best, spending time watching movies and TV shows with French audio and English captions, and did some grammar exercises when he could, but his lack of progress and fluency was clearly frustrating him. Most of the time, unless the two of them were alone just together, Leo and Logan spoke English in Finn’s presence. It didn’t really bother Leo much, to switch between the two languages, but it clearly sometimes bothered Logan- when he was overstimulated, when he was tired, when he was feeling things he needed to just let out, and he couldn’t do that as automatically in English. He’d gotten better, but there were times when Leo could physically see him flinching and wincing, the act of translating taking a toll on his body and mind. And Finn, Leo had come to realize, didn’t quite understand how difficult it was.

They watched Logan’s back disappear through the patio door and into the dying French sunlight, Leo still gripping Finn’s hand gently from when he’d stopped him from following Logan outside. Finn was breathing heavily, face and neck red from frustration and worry- and maybe a little anger, Leo thought. He drew those freckled fingers to his lips and kissed them gently. He gave Finn a tug. “C’mere, sweetheart. Let’s go for a walk.”

But Finn was still staring out the door. “No, Le, he’s just sitting out there, and I don’t understand-”

“Finn.” Leo tugged harder, forcing Finn to look at him. “I know you’re upset, but you need to let him be, okay? His dad had a legal emergency at work, so his parents can't come, and he's exhausted. Let’s go for a walk and talk.”

Finn looked a little taken aback at Leo’s firm tone of voice, but nodded. The fight had just evaporated from his body. “Okay. I’m sorry, Le, okay.”

“Hey.” Leo kissed him softly, then kissed the purple underneath his strained brown eyes. “I love you. And Logan does, too.” He laced their fingers together and squeezed. “Let’s go, I know just the place.”

They didn’t go far, just to the beach near Logan’s house, but it was far enough where they could both get some air. Leo pulled Finn back against his chest and laced their hands across Finn’s stomach. The sunset was just turning orange, casting a glow over the world and the water. Leo kissed the back of Finn’s head. “You look beautiful in the sunset.”

There was a hitching breath, a soft whimper, and then Finn started to cry, silent, shaking sobs wracking through his body. Leo leaned around and kissed each tear, waiting.

Finn pressed into his touch. “He just- in college he would just walk away from me. I would try to talk to him about- about us, and he would use French to- to get out of talking, and I can’t do it anymore, Le, I just can’t.”

“Sh, I know. I know, sweetheart, I’m so sorry.” Leo felt like his heart was breaking. “I’m so sorry, let it out, baby.”

“Leo, I don’t know what I did wrong.”

That made Leo suck in a breath. “Nothing. Finn, you did nothing wrong. You’re just- you’re having trouble communicating.”

Finn let out a sad sound and shook his head. His eyes were squeezed shut tightly, as if he was in pain. “No.”

“Oh, honey.” Leo wrapped him up tightly. “Honey, you are. It happens, even for you two.” He licked his lips nervously. “Can I- can I say something?”

“Yeah.”

“And when I say this, I need you to know that this is not to hurt you, and that I love you so much, okay?”

A brief pause. “Okay.”

Leo took a preparatory breath. “I think- I think you need to let Logan speak in French. Sometimes.” Finn flinched, but let Leo continue. “When he gets emotional, or frustrated, it’s sometimes hard for him to translate. And I know it doesn’t seem fair, but you need to let him feel for a minute for himself, then let him explain it to you.”

“Yeah.” Finn rested his head back against Leo’s shoulder. “But he can’t- he can’t use it as an excuse not to talk to me. I need him to, like, say he needs space, I can’t-” His breath hitched again. “I just feel so lost, and I hate not being able to help him.”

“Sh, sh, honey, I know.” Leo kissed where his hair fanned out over his ears. “But sometimes you don’t need to help him, at least not right away. Sometimes you need to just listen, and let him come to you when he’s ready.” He brushed Finn’s hair back from his face. His eyes were still closed, but not as tightly anymore. “And he will. You know he will. He’ll always talk to you, he’ll always tell you how he feels. And I know it’s unfair that I can understand him first, I know, baby, and I know it makes you feel frustrated. But he loves you so much, Finn. And he’ll talk to you once he can express how he feels in a way you can understand.”

Finn was silent for a long time. After a few minutes of gazing at the sunset, he tilted his head and pressed a kiss to Leo’s jaw. “In college, when Logan brought me here, we swam one night right out there.” He pointed to a spot in the distance, and Leo braced for the story he knew so well. “And I told him I wanted him. And he just- he spoke French at me and…” A new wave of tears fell from his eyes and his voice broke. His heart was fast under Leo’s palm, breathing quick and uneven. “God, that hurt so badly. That hurt more than anything else I’ve ever felt in my life.”

“Finn.” Leo felt himself start to tear up, too, and pressed his nose into Finn’s cheek. It wasn’t like Finn to panic so harshly. “Finn, baby, breathe. I need you to breathe with me, baby, you’re scaring me.”

“Sorry,” Finn gasped. “Sorry, sorry, Leo-”

“I’ve got you,” Leo whispered, pressing their foreheads together. “I’ve always got you.”

They breathed together for a few minutes. Finn’s body was hot against Leo’s own, as if he was feverish, and Leo had half a mind to take him into that ocean and wash away the memories. Instead, when Finn’s pulse slowed, he pressed a soft kiss to his lips and pulled back to look at him. “Feel better?” At Finn’s nod, Leo kissed him again. “Good. Let’s go back to the house, sweetheart. I’ll talk to Lo.”

Finn’s eyes turned anxious. “Do you think he’s mad at me?”

“No.” Leo shook his head. “No, I think… I think he loves you more than he can say, and he doesn’t want to hurt you.”

Finn deflated. “I know. I know, I’m sorry.” He looked up at Leo through his lashes. “I love you. I love you both so much. I’m just- I don’t know why I get frustrated.”

Leo bit his lip. “Maybe it’s just one of those things you don’t quite understand about each other yet. That you’re still learning.” He brushed their noses together. “I think that’s kind of beautiful, that you’re still learning each other.”

Finn smiled slightly. “Yeah. Yeah, you’re right, it is.” He kissed Leo’s cheek. “Thank you, peanut.”

“Always, sweetheart.” Leo patted his hip. “C’mon, up you get. Go take a shower, and I’ll go talk to Lo.”

They both felt lighter, clearly, as they stood, but Leo didn’t miss the way Finn looked longingly at the water once more.

***

Fifteen minutes later, Leo let his head thump lightly against the wall beside the bathroom door. He could hear the shower running and Finn talking to himself, which was a good sign, but his heart was still pounding in his chest. They hadn’t seen Logan when they walked through the house- Leo assumed he was still on the patio. He pressed a hand over his chest, took a deep breath, and walked through the living room to the back door.

Through the glass, he could see Logan hunched over, adding another log to the dying fire. He looked serious, muscles tense, and when he heard Leo slide the door open he jerked a bit. His eyes were red when they met Leo’s. “Salut.”

“Salut.” Leo closed the door softly behind him and went to sit in the chair on the opposite side of the fire pit. “Ça va?” When Logan just shook his head, Leo let out a sigh. “I just took Finn to the beach,” he whispered in French. “We talked for a while, he’s in the shower now.”

Logan looked up at him. “D’accord, is he-” He stopped, squinting at Leo briefly across the flames, before he sucked in a breath. “Were you crying?”

Leo felt a nervous feeling work its way up his throat. “Ouais.”

Logan’s face looked like heartbreak. “And Finn, was he-?”

“Ouais.”

Logan groaned, falling forward to rest his face in his hands with a shaky breath. “I don’t want to make him cry. Oh God, I made him cry-”

“Sweetheart, look at me.” Leo stood and went to kneel between Logan’s legs, the warm fire at his back, and cupped his face in his hands. “Look at me, Lo.” When Logan did, Leo wiped away the wetness on his cheeks. “Finn was just scared, and frustrated. He doesn’t like not being able to understand you.”

“Je sais.” Logan’s voice was broken and sad. “Je sais, Leo, I’m so sorry-”

“Sh, sh, I’ve got you.” Leo pressed a firm kiss to his forehead, then rested their temples together. “I know you’re trying, I know it, Lo, but he sometimes doesn’t. He just wants to fix anything that’s hurting you right away. But he also has to let you feel, and I told him that. And once you figure it out, then you can translate and tell him, but he needs to let you do it yourself.” Leo pulled back to look him in the eye. “But you can’t just walk away, Lo. You have to tell him, in English, that you need a minute, and then take it.”

Logan closed his eyes like the words hurt him. “It- it’s a bad habit. With him.”

“He told me.” Leo thought for a moment, then lowered his voice. “He told me about the sea again. The story about you two in the water at night, while we were at the beach.”

“Merde.” Logan let out a pained sound. “Mon rouge…” He sniffed and held Leo’s wrists. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry you always have to deal with- with us, us not communicating.”

“Non,” Leo whispered firmly, thumbs rubbing Logan’s jaw. “Hey, no, don’t say that. I want to help you, Lo, because I love you, not because I feel like I have to.” He sighed. “But you have to talk to him about it, okay? He doesn’t want to hurt you, and you don’t want to hurt him. And you don’t hurt each other, really, you just- you need to take a pause for a moment, that’s all.”

But Logan’s expression was disbelieving. “I made him cry. I made you cry.”

“Non, Logan.” Leo pressed their bodies together harder. “You didn’t, your actions did. The situation did. How much we love you made us cry, but never you, sweetheart. You’re all we could ever want.”

“I love you,” Logan said softly, kissing Leo so gently it felt like bathing in sunlight. “I love you so much.”

“I love you.” Leo stood, holding out his hands to pull Logan into standing up. “D’accord, Finn’s probably out of the shower now. Let’s go see him.”

Leo could tell Logan was nervous by the way he gripped his hand tightly as they made their way through the house. It was getting dark now, their bodies casting long shadows on the walls. There wasn’t a sound of water running through the pipes, so Leo figured Finn was in their bedroom. He tugged Logan along slowly and stopped in front of the door, turning to face him and kiss him briefly. “Good?”

“Ouais.” Logan pressed his forehead into Leo’s chest, hugging him, before cautiously turning the knob.

The room was bathed in just the warm light of a lamp. The window was open, letting in a cool breeze coming off the ocean, ruffling the white curtains. Finn was sitting up against the pillows on the bed, now in boxers and a sweatshirt, glasses perched on his nose as he read from a paperback. He looked up as Logan entered, Leo standing in the doorway. His eyes, though warm, were red-rimmed, and his cheeks were flushed. “Hi,” he whispered, voice cracking through what sounded to Leo like tears.

Logan let out a soft sound. “Mon rouge.”

Then he was crossing the room in two strides to straddle Finn’s hips on the mattress, wrapping his strong arms tightly around Finn’s shoulders. A soft sob escaped Finn’s body as he held Logan just as tightly, fingers gripping the muscles of Logan’s back. “Lo, I’m so sorry, I-”

“Non, non, Finn.” Logan pulled back to cup Finn’s face and kiss the skin, catching the falling tears with his lips. “Non, mon rouge, désolé. Mon amour, ma vie, mon tout, je suis tellement désolé. Don’t cry, I don’t want you to cry.” He kissed Finn on the mouth and then looked him in the eye. “I should not have walked away.”

“I should have let you have space, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry, baby, about your family, I-” Finn cut himself off, kissing Logan hard once more. “I love you.”

“Ouais.” Logan began kissing his cheeks again, then moved down to his neck. “Ouais, je t’aime, ma vie, mon cœur, ma lumière, je t’aime.”

Finn let his head fall back with a soft smile. “Now this French I find sexy.”

“Finn.” Logan lifted his face from Finn’s neck and ran his hands through Finn’s hair. His eyes were serious and yearning, but he was so gentle it made Leo’s heart ache. “I’m being serious, I don’t want you to feel like that. I’m so sorry I keep making you feel like that, I’m going to try. I’m going to communicate better, I’m going to try.”

“Then I’ll try, too.” Finn rested their foreheads together. “I don’t like not being able to fix things. But you need time, sometimes, and I know I won’t always understand right away.”

“But I’ll tell you.”

Finn smiled and kissed Logan’s cheek. “But you’ll tell me.” He sat up straighter, then looked to where Leo was standing. He smiled and held out an arm. “Now, where’s our sunshine?”

Leo tilted his head to rest against the doorframe and gazed at them softly. “Hi.”

“C’mere, baby, c’mere.” He pulled Leo against him when he walked over to the bed, scooching a bit so he didn’t fall off. Finn pressed a kiss to his forehead. “Thank you, baby. It’s not your job, and it’s not why we love you, but thank you for catching us.”

“Ouais.” Logan moved off of Finn’s lap to sit in Leo’s and draped his arms around his shoulders. His green eyes were wet, but Leo saw his smile right up until he closed his eyes and kissed him. “Merci, mon coeur.”

Leo nudged their noses together. “I told you. I do it because I love you, not because I have to.” He looked at Finn. “And you catch me, too. You caught me right in your arms when we met, even if you didn’t know it, and you’ve caught me every time I’ve fallen since.”

Finn’s smile widened. “I like catching you, baby. You look so pretty in my arms.” He kissed Leo’s blushing cheek. “Je t’aime, peanut.”

Leo laughed. “I love you.” He turned to Logan, who was watching them both with soft eyes. “Je t’aime aussi.”

“Oui. Toujours, mes amours.” He settled his hips further into Leo’s and nicked Finn’s cheek with his thumb. “That wasn’t that bad, Harz.”

Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Been learning. Though, I gotta say, most of my French is not very appropriate, so I will need some help with that.”

Logan laughed. “Ouais, we can help you.” He tilted forward and rested his cheek right where Leo and Finn’s shoulders were touching, his eyes turned to look at Leo. “I’m sleepy.”

“Mm.” Leo tilted his head to rest on top of Logan’s. “Shower? Then we can go to bed.”

“Can I be in the middle?”

Leo and Logan both straightened to look at Finn, who was biting his nail with slightly nervous brown eyes. Logan smiled widely. He took Finn’s hand and kissed it. “Ouais, mon amour.”

“Kay.” He ran a hand through Logan’s hair. “Can we snug?”

Leo scoffed. “Like that’s even a question.” He kissed Finn’s neck then took Logan by the hips to lift him off the bed to stand. “We’ll be ten minutes, honey, promise.”

“Hurry back.”

They left Finn to his book and went to the bathroom. Leo was grabbing some towels from the closet while Logan let the water heat up when a thought made him laugh. “You know,” he said. “I think it really would be funny to teach Finn French.”

“Huh?” Logan asked, stripping his clothes. “Quoi?”

Leo shrugged, hanging up the towels and reaching behind himself to pull his T-shirt off. “I’m just saying, his accent would be horrible.” He wrapped his hands around Logan’s waist as they stepped into the shower, guiding him beneath the hot spray. “And he would probably only use it to say dirty things to us, anyways, even if he knew more.”

Logan tilted his head back to face the water and laughed. “Ouais, he would.” He looked back at Leo over his shoulder. “But I wouldn’t complain.”

Leo smiled. “No. Neither would I.”

Suddenly, the bathroom door opened. Leo wiped his hand on the shower glass to clear it, then grinned even wider when he saw Finn staring at them, hips resting against the sink. “Sweetheart?”

Finn played with his own fingers. “Didn’t want to be far from you. Can I stay?”

“Of course, baby.”

“Cool.” Finn boosted himself up to sit on the side of the sink, letting his legs swing. “You know, I like this show. Might have to shower stalk you more often.”

Logan blew him a kiss. “Whatever you want, mon coeur.”

Finn nodded. He whistled lowly when Leo and Logan both turned away from him to grab their exfoliator and soap. “Damn, this is a nice show. And it’s free, even better.”

Leo rolled his eyes fondly and shared a look with Logan. “He’s back.”

Logan bit his lip. “Ouais. He’s back.”

“Can you, like, make out or something, please? As an experiment.”

Leo furrowed his eyebrows. “An experiment for what?”

“To see how long I can sit still here for.”

Leo and Logan shook their heads, but leaned in for a kiss that started out brief, but Logan’s tongue ran over Leo’s lips and then Leo was melting underneath the warm water.

“Yup, that’s what I’m talking about.” They looked over to see him resting back against his hands, a delighted smile on his face. He waved his fingers. “Don’t stop on my account.”

Leo just winked at him and drew Logan’s body closer again. “I guess we gotta give it to him.”

“Ouais,” Logan said, looking up through his dark eyelashes. “Whatever he wants. Forever.”

Leo nodded. “Forever. Now, c’mere, Tremblay, and give me a kiss.”

And with Logan’s smile against his own and Finn’s happy noises, Leo felt himself soften… or maybe it just felt like the beginning of sinking into forever.
