Now that I’ve listened to Vengeance on repeat, I think I have my favorite songs in order.
1. Charybdis- it slaps so hard and it literally woke me up during the live stream. Will be singing this song to my dog. Charybdis sounds like a whale.
2. Dangerous- it just slaps. It’s got so much pazzaz (I can’t spell)
3. Get in The Water- performances slayed so hard and I loved hearing the many musical motifs hidden under Poseidon and Odysseus screaming at each other.
4. 600 Strike- it’s more yelling but the instrumental goes righteously hard. I love both Odysseus and Poseidon. Ngl it kinda hurt seeing my favorite god being tortured by my favorite Greek hero.
5. Not Sorry for Loving You- song is beautiful and Wangui does a beautiful job singing, although I REALLY don’t like Calypso. It’s also a very fascinating song on a psychological level I feel.
Please note I love and adore all of these songs and Jorge blew us out of the water with this saga.
To all of you who are able to see The Return today, have fun. I hope you all enjoy the movie, and that Odysseus’ return to the big screen does not disappoint.
Patroclus’ shade singing a soft and comforting song to the mourning Achilles.
When Patroclus fights Hector in Achilles’ armor we hear Achilles’ musical motif instead because Pat is in disguise.
A song for Odysseus where he schemes up the Trojan horse and we hear his motif in the background kinda like in the sacking of Troy in Epic.
You could probably call it “Ilia” since that’s what the acheans call Troy.
I see your vision and I will help expand it. Someone get Jorge lol
with epic wrapping up, I've been thinking that it'd be pretty cool if Jay made a musical about the Iliad.
No idea what it'd be called but I think it'd be cool.
It'd also be cool get God Games 2.0 where Hera beats the crap out or Artemis with her own bow, along with the other stuff the Iliad has to offer.
We could also add Polites and Eurylochus to get a feel for what their time fighting was like. Along with maybe some Achilles/Patroclus, Cassandra, the dynamics between Agamemnon and Menelaus and Hector and Paris, Helen and Menelaus' reunion, etc.
And once that musical wraps up if could lead into Horse and The Infant
Do y'all see my vision-
When “The Challenge” finally drops methinks it’ll have a chokehold on me for 100 years
Everytime I wish to put further emphasis on Odysseus, I make it my business to list every title and epithet Homer has given this man.
So I’ll be having a normal conversation and then I’ll drop “That tactful and guileful man, rugged, chestnut haired, broad shouldered, lying, gentle, royal Odysseus, son of Laertes, husband of Penelope, father of Telemachus, sacker of cities, sacker of Troy, King of Ithaka”.
I then realize I was so busy remembering every epithet that I no longer remember where the conversation was going.
Epic The Musical has utterly SHATTERED my Spotify Wrapped and the data hasn’t even dropped yet.
Because my brain isn’t decomposing fast enough with all of my Odyssey content, I have decided to make a playlist for songs that remind me of Odysseus.
So far I only have two songs, but I’m trying to expand on this playlist and am inquiring on any recommendations. I will have at minimum one Epic song I just don’t know which one yet.
For vibe example the two songs I’ve got are Leave a Light On by Papa Roach, and Ulysses by Josh Garrels.
I will be taking as many recommendations as I can
Mates! Odysseus returns home! TONIGHT! Ithaca Saga watch party is tonight at 9pm EST!
Today’s news is a singular degree away from Greek Mythology/Epic.
Just listened to Troy Doherty’s new song “Libra”. Go listen to this man’s music. Absolute fire song. Can’t wait for Scorpio to drop.
i think people should implement the fact Odysseus cries CONSTANTLY in the Odyssey into their epic stuff more...cuz the sentence 'I then began to weep" is said so much itd take me forever to tally it up,
Greek mythos brainrot is so bad that Odysseus king of Ithaka can grow mushrooms using my neurons
