AkuSaiMonth 2022: July 8 - August 7

Welcome to AkuSaiMonth! A month of celebrating AkuSai & LeaIsa! It's been a hard two years, but at least ASM is back, this time with a new host (and with permission of the original creator)!

AkuSaiMonth 2022 Bingo

Similar to 2015, we will be playing bingo again, but this time with a twist: The bingo cards are randomized! Every participant will have their prompts in 1 of 30 different arrangements!

Where can I get the Bingo Card?

To claim your personal AkuSaiMonth 2022 Bingo card, click >> HERE! << Using the link on the same device and browser should (in theory) always lead to the same card. However, I would strongly recommend also saving the card by either using the print button on top or by making a screenshot.

Screenreader friendly bingo cards are available here: LINK. These are not randomized unfortunately, but you can still pick one (of three) at random! Please let me know if you run into any problems!

How does it work?

The goal is to get one "Bingo!" during the month (Jul 7 – Aug 8) by filling 5 prompts in a row, column or diagonal. 

This could mean one post every week, for example:

Post 1: Friday, July 8 (IsaLea Day)

Post 2: Saturday, July 16

Post 3: Saturday, July 23

Post 4: Sunday, July 31

Post 5: Sunday, August 7 (AkuSai Day) -> Bingo! <3

You are of course allowed to do less than five prompts (one is perfectly fine! <3) or even fill out the entire bingo card (I wish I had your time management skills)!

So, last night I dreamt I was playing KH3. 

Lea and Isa (still norted) were there, having a frustrated and angry argument, which wasn’t surprising at all uNTIL IT TURNED INTO A FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY MAKE-OUT SESSION. 

I was so shook, I stopped, turned off the game and texted my girlfriend this one sentence I never expected to type:

“I can’t believe AkuSai is canon now.”

“A real human," she said, then smiled, blood trailing down the side of her lip. “So it's true. You still exist.” (Starsight, chapter 8) 

So, I forgot about this drawing for 5 months. Oops.  Anyway, here’s my take on Spin and Alanik’s first and only meeting!

I enjoyed Starsight a lot (nothing can beat Skyward though, not even it’s own sequels) and can’t wait for book 3!

Lea & Isa

When I was playing 358/2 Days for the first time a few years ago I suddenly wondered what Axel's real name would be, so I started turning around the letters of his name. I got to the conclusion, that it's probably Lea very quickly - simply and plainly because Lea is a girl's name. I was laughing my ass off, when I realized that I was right. When I started to get an interest in Saix I did the same thing for his name. I thought matching to Lea he should have a girl's name too, so I decided for Isa as my guess. The joke wasn't nearly as funny the second time.

Really, who gave them those names? And was he aware that they are girl's names? ö _ ö" (even though they are pronounced in a different way) Well I knew a Lea once, I knew a Isa once, so ever since BBS I wanted to draw a genderbend version of Lea and Isa influenced with features of the Lea and Isa I knew. Yup, here they are :D

Mizuki is just too precious ( T ^ T) I honestly just want him to be happy.

I wanted to draw Mizuki ever since I started watching the DMMD anime. It had about 5 episodes back then, and I was just thinking “Ah, yes, this guy is my favourite character”, when Aoba got a call from Koujaku, saying MIZUKI’S DISSAPPEARED. Yeah, thanks, darling.

(More babbling below the cut, I write way too much.)

I watched the whole DMMD anime just because I wanted to see Aoba saving Mizuki, but all I got was one picture of him smiling (which is honestly better than nothing). So I wanted to see his waking up scene in the game, but I only found one video – that had spanish subtitles. That was really lucky though, because I got so pissed, that I just watched the route of my fave boyfriend (Can you guess which one it is? It’s so painfully obvious …) and this finally got me into DMMD as a whole. In the meantime there are two of the boyfriends, that I like even more (but I still ship only one with Aoba, haha), but Mizuki’s still … way too precious for all this.

(By the way, in the end I watched the spanish video. I found a english transcribtion of Mizuki’s good end and read that while watching the video. … Honestly this was the most mental exhausting thing I’ve ever done. Trying to pay attention to three foreign languages when I only spoke one of them … Whew.)

You know, I was going to say, that I procrastinated uploading this pic for almost a month (since March 7th, Mizuki’s birthday), but I procrastinated drawing it for almost two years in the first place so I guess those few days don’t make much difference anymore.

If you were wondering what I was doing this last week: I sold my soul to Satan once again in order to get those two cosplays done. And on the weekend I went to a con with my (twelve year old. Yes, TWELVE. Look at her, she's HUGE.) sister :D (the second youngest ... I've got four younger siblings @A@)

One day, I will finally manage to start earlier ... >___< (I mean ... my Astrid Cos was done in two days ... well, maybe three if I'd be very strict.) Then I wouldn't be stressed for days. Then I would have time for breaks and a healthy portion of sleep, and I wouldn't forget half of the costume at home <_<"

This was actually a gift for my sister. The cosplays and visiting the con, I mean. She had to win a "bet" first, namely: She had to do without sweets or sweet drinks or very fat food for the whole summer vacation (that lasts for two months here.) And well, she won. :) I don't care for any "beauty standards", but she was really getting into a weight-, and therefore a healthproblem and she definitely needed a push into a different direction. Wheter it helped or not ... well, we'll see.

Either way I am really proud of her, because she proved a whole lot of willpower in those two months, and that is definitely important just as well :)

Akusaimonth: Berserk Mode Day 17: Prison

Strange, I just felt like - Nah, probably just my imagination.

This was this late summer's/early autumn's "I've got nothing to do for at least five minutes D:" picture. Yeah, I always have my drawing stuff with me for cases like that. xD

I actually made an interesting experience with this picture:

When I was drawing at a convention, a few guys who thought they were oh so funny watched me draw and one of them asked if they were kissing. (I just answered absolutely matter of fact, that if they were kissing their lips would actually touch. Of course that was not what he meant, but he didn't dare to open his mouth again after that, so yeah. xD)

On another occasion an elderly lady saw me draw and she was seemingly disturbed by the motif. I overheard her retelling what she saw to her husband and she on the other hand discribed it as "two men fighting".

At first I dismissed the "kissing" as well as the "fighting" understanding as wrong (compared to my own of course), because neither of those were what I wanted to show. After a while though I realised that this wasn't quite true. Those interpretations are still not "right", but they are not completely wrong as well. They are just ... incomplete. Seen together though they can actually get pretty close to my own understanding. Each of those people saw one of the tensions I had planned, but failed to see the other.

And in my opinion that's extremely interesting! I just love to hear other people's interpretations on my pictures! Especially on those that are actually not supposed to show a specific scene but more ... a state of mind or a certain mood or the nature of ... whatever. On pictures that are symbolic. Like this one here.
