*Lucky Chai Tea Latte*

I originally found this post from @starlight-witches. This is specifically for one of the lattes on the long list, called The Lucky Chai. I thought I would try it out and it’s absolutely delicious! It’s perfect for those cold, winter days where all you want to do is cuddle up with your pets and watch Netflix!

Recipe: from @sidewalk-crystal

。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆   。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆   。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆

This recipe makes one serving. I tripled this and made three servings!

What you’ll need: ✧ Milk or milk alternative ✧ Filtered water ✧ Tea that goes well with milk (not green tea or fruit flavored teas) ✧ Cinnamon or cinnamon sticks for clairvoyance and prosperity ✧ Cardamom for luck and love ✧ Sugar or honey to taste Optional: ✧ whipped cream ✧ chocolate chips ✧ ground cinnamon for topping

。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆   。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆   。・:*:・゚★, 。・:*:・゚☆

Steps: ✧ fill your mug ¾ of the way with milk ✧ fill the rest (¼ of your mug) with water ✧ By this point, your mug should be filled all the way. So more than half of your mug should be milk and the rest water. ✧ Pour the mixture into a medium sized pot with your sugar or honey and wait until your mixture boils.  ✼ Tip: Make sure you stir it well as you boil it and leave it on medium-low heat or it will boil over! ✧ As it’s heating up, put in your cinnamon and cardamom. I used only one cinnamon stick per serving, but feel free to add more ground cinnamon at the end. And I only used a pinch of cardamom! ✧ When it’s done boiling, it will get frothy and foamy. At this point, take it off the heat and add in your tea. Steeping it would take way too long so just cut open the tea bag and pour it right in! You can strain this if you want to, but I found no need for this unless you’re cooking with big tea leaves. ✧ Serve hot, and depending on your preferences, serve with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and ground cinnamon for topping!

It came out even more beautiful than I ever imagined! Thank you for this recipe!

I hope this brings you luck and warmth this season!

Liquor Magic: Ginger Cardamom Vodka

A long time ago I made a few posts with recipes for flavored liqueurs that could be made and used for magical purposes that also just tasted really really good. It’s been awhile, but here’s another tasty one. Of course, this recipe is intended for those of legal drinking age.

This is a vodka flavored with raw ginger, honey, cardamom, and thyme. It’s great on it’s own or as a hot toddy. It can also make the deadliest dark and stormy ever. This recipe is best for when you need the energy and confidence to make things happen. For this recipe you will need

-One fifth of vodka, or 3 and a quarter cups of vodka

-1 cup of honey

-1 cup of grated raw ginger (be careful when doing this, my hand was burning by the end of it)

-¼ cup of crushed caradmom pods or of ground cardamom (I recommend using the pods, I used ground cardamom and you can’t really strain it out as well, so it leaves a precipitate at the bottom)

-2 tablespoons of dried thyme

To make:

Combine all the ingredients in a large jar, awakening the desired property of each ingredient. Store away in a cabinet somewhere for 3 to 5 days. Once that time has passed strain out the solid ingredients into another jar or bottle using a mesh strainer or cheese cloth. And you’re done!

Leave in a bowl on your altar or at the entrances of your house.

Place in doorways to ward negative energy from entering.

Sprinkle in rooms with negative energy and vacuum/sweep away to remove.

Leave in an enemy’s shoes (under the insert) to keep them away from you and curse them with bad luck (and stinking feet).

Throw it in the face of someone evil cuz that shit has cayenne and will burn.

Ingredients // spices: black peppercorns (x2), 1 bird’s eye chili, coriander, rosemary, 2 cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf, salt

-garlic, 5-10 cloves (rough chop)      -kale, 1 bunch (cut into rough ribbons)

An old woman of ambiguous South Asian heritage went through my check lane a few days ago. One of her items was a red onion, which she’d already skinned inside the produce bag. I mistook it for two different onions; she corrected me, and then explained why she’d already skinned it.

“If you make tea with onion skins,” she said, with the air of an old woman sharing her secrets, “and drink it before bed, it’s good for the bowels. Boil the water and leave the skins in for ten minutes. It will clean you right out.”

I finished scanning her items and she continued to share. “Before you get out of bed in the morning, eat a spoonful of mashed garlic and honey, keep it in your mouth for ten minutes and stay lying down, and you will be awake and healthy.”

She tapped her nose gently, a conspiratorial smile gracing her lips. “It’s old magic. Natural remedy. Better than any medicine.”

Okay Y’all, Take It From A Southern Queer Kitchen Witch: Biscuits ‘n Gravy IS Indeed A Witch Meal

okay y’all, take it from a southern queer kitchen witch: biscuits ‘n gravy IS indeed a witch meal (as is any meal you make, not just traditionally “healthy” food)! you’d be surprised what can nourish your body and spirit when you work from scratch and share your energy with your kitchen and ingredients.

below is my recipe, inspired by the spicy-fennel gravy my Appalachian grandma always seemed to have on her stove when we visited. i use to call it “glop,” xo

*to my weed witches, this is the perfect wake-n-bake w/ friends or lovers on a Sunday morning kindof meal*

🍴 Easy Biscuits: makes 6-8

*2c all purpose flour, plus more for dusting   *2 tbsp baking powder

*sugar, 2 large pinches (think thumb + index)  *1 tsp salt   *1c whole milk

*5 tbsp COLD (!!) unsalted butter, cut into small chunks (i cut it then put it back in the fridge until i’m ready to blend)

-If using food processor, add flour / baking powder / sugar / salt and cut in butter (~7 pulses), until it resembles rough crumbs. otherwise, add the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and use a fork or dough blade to cut in the chunks of butter. your dough should look like a crumble, with no visible butter.

-if using food processor, transfer crumble to a mixing bowl. add milk and stir with fork until it resembles a sticky, rough ball. turn-over onto flour surface, sprinkle top with flour and begin patting into a round disc, gently pat it down, and fold over. do this once more. bond with ur dough, it loves you!

-rest a kitchen towel over the dough for 30 minutes. when you return, dust a cup’s rim to cut-out biscuits. return to fridge until ready to bake.

-preheat a cast iron skillet in the oven at 425°F. when preheated, add cold biscuits and brush with melted butter / oil. bake for 10-15 minutes, until the dough doesn’t give to your finger when you press the tops. if you don’t have a skillet, simple bake on a baking sheet according to the instructions above!

🍳 Grandma Irene’s Gravy: makes plenty for ur biscuits, plus a lil extra!

*peppercorns (lots!) + garlic, 2 cloves (protection, intuition)  *red chili (cleansing)

*fennel seed (confidence, self-love n growth)  *oregano (joy, fulfillment, health)

*1 lb ground sausage (or substitute)  *2+ tbsp AP flour  *3c whole milk

-toast ground peppercorns, fennel seed, garlic, dried red chili, and oregano (preferably fresh from ur plant bb) in a large cast-iron skillet or other deep frying pan.

-add sausage (or substitute), pinched off into smaller chunks and cook over medium-high heat until brown. sprinkle generous salt.

-add 2 heaping tbsp flour and mix into sausage until combined. add milk and mix well, bring mixture to a boil then return to medium - stir lots during this process. the gravy will begin to thicken, be patient and cook it down for about 10-15 minutes as the biscuits finish.

-serve to your liking, though i enjoy w/ a sunny-side up egg on top!!

I’m a beautiful element of the universe and I love that about myself

I love me spell:

-a ready bake pie crust

-a can of strawberry pie filling (strawberries represent love of all kinds)

-star cookie cutters (star shapes to visually represent my place among the Universe)

-Sprinkling sugar (to sweeten my inner thoughts about me)

-Intent (A whole lot of love and gratitude for being my awesome self)

Enchant each ingredient of the pie with it’s correspondence as listed above. When the pie is assembled and ready to go into the oven imbue the pie with the following chant:

Then bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.

Recipe : Prosperity Potatoes!

If you have a big day ahead, maybe a test, a job interview, or just need some extra good luck, this is the perfect healthy lunch or dinner recipe!

Here is the microwave version for when you’re low on energy and can’t be bothered to cook for very long. If you’re low on spoons or energy don’t bother cooking the other ingredients, they’ll be great fresh as well. If you’re vegan, just substitute or leave out the cheese.

Tools:

✨ Yellow, White or Green Candle ✨ Gems: Aventurine, Tiger’s Eye and Clear Quartz ✨ a Sigil for Prosperity ✨ Sharp Kitchen Knife ✨ a Pan ✨ Kitchen Towel (the paper kind) ✨ A Microwave and a stovetop

🌿

Start by Cleansing your kitchen in whichever way you see fit, burn some incense, spray a Cleansing Mist or cleanse with Sage.

When the energy is clean, light your candle on your workspace and arrange your gemstones around it. You are now ready to begin.

🌿

Rinse and dry your Potatoes and set them on your chopping board. Using the knife, carve your Prosperity Sigil into each one. If you don’t have a sigil or don’t work with sigils, try a star, heart or a shape that you associate with good luck.

Wrap both the potatoes separately in the paper kitchen towel, and depending on your microwave, pop them in separately (one at a time) for about 6minutes on high power each.

While your Potatoes are baking, pour some oil (olive, sunflower, canola or coconut, I prefer olive) into your pan in your sigil or shape and heat.

Slice the mushrooms, garlic, baby tomatoes and olives, not forgetting to take the pits out.

Chuck them all in the pan, sprinkle some thyme and rosemary and cook them thoroughly.

When both your Potatoes have baked, pop them out of their paper towels and slice them in the “hedgehog” style. (Crisscross still in their skins)

Cover with salt and more rosemary and thyme, break the feta cheese and sprinkle on. Heap on your pan cooked mushrooms, garlic, olives and tomatoes. Add the fresh basil leaves on top and Voila!

While you’re eating, meditate on the protection and prosperity Properties of the ingredients you used.

This Little Bit Of A Spell Occurred To Me When I Was Making Breakfast This Morning.

This little bit of a spell occurred to me when I was making breakfast this morning.

My grandmother taught me a little poem for counting crows for divination when I was younger. It goes like this:

1 for sadness 2 for mirth, 3 for marriage 4 for birth 5 for laughing 6 for crying 7 for sickness 8 for dying 9 for silver 10 for gold 11 is a secret that shall never be told

So here’s what you do. What do you need to manifest in your life? Select that number of eggs. I used 5 today. As you crack each egg into your pan or bowl, visualize what you are manifesting coming into your life. Today I used five eggs, and visualized the laughter of my children as we had a happy and positive day. Say out loud or in your head each step as you crack the eggs. One for sadness, two for mirth… etc. When you reach your number, Stir your eggs to charge your spell. Then add: salt for grounding, black pepper for protection from other magic. Visualize the strength of your spell being tightly wound to you as you do this. Cook your eggs and enjoy a good breakfast. As you eat, visualize what you have manifested entering your being.

That’s it! Some easy kitchen magic for you all today :)

It’s A Cold, Rainy Day Here And I’m Feeling A Bit Under The Weather, So I Thought I Would Share My

It’s a cold, rainy day here and I’m feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought I would share my “get well draught”. It’s warming and comforting and the most reliable thing I have found to make me feel better when I have a cold (except for sudafed).

I use; - A small handful of fresh mint - A teaspoon of fresh ginger or half a teaspoon powdered - Quarter of a teaspoon of chilli powder - Quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon - The juice of half a lemon Stir clockwise and strain before drinking.

The best thing about this “tea” is that you can make it to your own tastes. Today I’ve added lemongrass and if I have it and feel like it I add honey. This tea is great if you have a sore throat or blocked sinuses. You can double or tripple the ingredients and brew in a pot on the stove and put your face in the steam for added benefits.

Extra points for drinking it from a cool mug that makes you feel badass!

Folk Remedies for Illness

Hey y’all it’s flu season. My mom’s got a little cough/fever going on so I called my grandmother and she gave me a bunch of remedies. She’s a Colombian woman who knows her folk magic so I thought I would share them here.

Lemon Tea:

lemon

water

honey

Can be heated up in the microwave.

Broth:

Main ingredients (add a lot of these):

red onion

garlic

Optional add ons:

chicken

buganvilla flowers (good for a cough)

carrots or anything else that would make it more nutritious and delicious

All cooked together in a pot with water.

Banana Cream:

banana

butter

honey

Mashed together until creamy and smooth.

Gargles:

warm water

salt or baking soda

Gargle it in the back of your throat and then spit it out.

It’s really important to take fluids when you’re sick so it’s also a good idea to drink liquids like orange juice (which has vitamin c), tea, and water.

If you’ve got any further question about how to make these or my personal magical correspondences, my ask is always open.

Kitchen Magic: Empowerment Oils

Empowerment oils… oh, boy! When it comes to oils, there are about as many oils as there are witches in the world, and more! When I had first started getting into witchcraft, I was most intrigued by what I could do in the kitchen - something that definitely makes sense, as I am a cook and am pursuing a culinary degree - and between the herbs, teas, and oils, I had discovered an entire world of witchery that seemed daunting at first. And oils, I think, were probably the most daunting.

In learning about oils, I had come across entire books dedicated solely to herbal concoctions that can be blended up for use - Cunningham’s The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews alone has 62 oil recipes, and that’s just a select few that Cunningham had shared.

But, sister witch, understand that you don’t have to be a whiz in the kitchen, nor a certified herbalist to make use of oils. With research, you can learn quite a lot, but like any aspect of the Craft, it comes down to what feels right. Trying to make a healing oil and you want to throw an amethyst into the bottle? Go right ahead! Making a money oil and don’t feel like bay laurel draws money to you? Leave it out and toss in some cloves! The possibilities are nearly endless.

So in order to cover oils in any kind of meaningful way, I feel like it’s best to break that umbrella topic down into what the oils are being used for. And as tempting as it is to hop straight into specialized oils, like Return-To-Sender or Road Opener oils, I realized that when I was studying oils and learning from other witches, I almost never came across a general-purpose oil, or what I call an empowerment oil.

In short, an empowerment oil is a multi-purpose oil meant to give a spell or other working just a bit more umph. It’s not focused to any particular use, and if I were to compare it to crystals, I would say that an empowerment oil is most like clear quartz in its uses. It is a battery oil, an energy drink for your mojo bag, liquid fire warmth for your spells that are going cold.

So! All of that rambling said, say you want to get into making empowerment oils. What do I look for? What do I put in it? Do I have to have a special carrier oil extracted from the wood of an endangered arctic berry bush? Well… first of all, I hope that you’re practicing wisely and not using endangered species for your work if your practice calls for it and it can’t be substituted for something non-endangered… well, good on you, but I won’t be helping you out on that one.

I break down what I look for in an oil based on the following criteria: What is it for? What do I want it to look like? Do I want to put it in my body? And can I easily make it with ingredients I have access to, or can easily gain access to?

What is it for?

Simply saying “empowerment” isn’t enough. Just like with any spell, you want to be able to visualize the purpose of the oil. So my Fire Water oil, for instance, is an oil where I knew I wanted it to protect, cleanse, purify, and enhance my workings. I visualized it as liquid fire, and when dressing, say, a healing candle, I can see the candle glow with golden healing warmth.

This is the kind of thing you want with your oils. Specific intent. The beautiful thing about empowerment oils is that they can be enchanted time and again for whatever you’re using them for. Going back to the Fire Water, I enchant it when I make it so that I can align the herbal properties, and then when I use it in a spell, I enchant it again so that the more specific property is called upon. My oil can be used for all sorts of purposes, but if I’m needing it for protection, I call upon that specific property.

The best way I personally use to do this is by using multiple herbs that share common traits. Cinnamon, Rosemary, Sage, and Cloves are all exceptionally good protection and purification herbs. All four of them are in my fire oil. Cinnamon, Clove, Rosemary, Sage, and Juniper are all very good for energizing and waking me up. All of them are in my fire oil.

You can use your intuition to determine what properties you want to incorporate into your oil, and start determining your ingredients from there!

What do I want it to look like?

This varies from person to person. Some couldn’t care less what their oil looks like, as long as it smells good, or as long as it does what they want it to do. For me, the senses are very important to incorporate into the spell or mixture I’m using - call it the cook in me.

If you’re a person who is put off by something because it stinks, looks or tastes rancid, or has floaty bits in it, then put together your recipe in a way that counters all of that.

I love vibrant colors, swirling movements, and pleasant smells that remind me of the purposes I want to incorporate. As such, my oils are pretty, have floaty bits, and smell - if I may say so - rather divine. For me, all of that adds to the magick of my Craft, so I take it into account.

Do I want to put it in my body?

I am a cook. For a lot of my oils, I want them to either be edible and pleasantly smelly or safe to put on skin with pretty scents. This is why I use a lot of herbs and spices that I can easily find in my kitchen. However, essential oils are occasionally included, and it is important to make sure that you know if what you’re putting into the oil is safe for consumption.

This may sound like a no brainer, but it isn’t always so for some people… I’ve seen someone get herself sick because she didn’t stop to think about a) how much essential oil she was adding, and b) whether it was a natural oil or if it was an artificial oil meant for aromatherapy. Always. Do. Your. Research.

Similarly! If you want the oil to help you with divination or healing, don’t add selenite to it - the stone will dissolve, and you will get yourself sick by consuming it. If it’s a divination oil for communicating with the dead, do not consume an oil with nightshade in it. You’ll end up communicating with the dead, but your physical body would be most ready to become fertilizer.

Can I easily get the ingredients?

If the answer is “yes!” Then have at it! If the answer is no, then in my practice, it’s important to consider why that may be. The oil may not be meant to have that ingredient, or Goddess could be saying “leave it out” or “there’s something better that you already have.”

I often see recipes that call for woods that aren’t readily accessible where I live. If I’m making a protection empowerment oil, for instance, and I’m not worried about consuming it, but it calls for female holly berries (holly with pointed leaves), I won’t have access to that. What holly grows here is all male. I can, however, substitute the holly for acorns or oak leaves, since oak is very easily accessible here.

Use your intuition and go with your gut if you can’t get a hold of something. It is okay to change up recipes as you need to suit your purposes.

In conclusion…

Empowerment oils are beautiful tools for any witchy working, and can be used in place of any other oil if you don’t have access to it (drats! I’ve run out of amethyst oil… good thing I have a jar of fire water!).

Be safe, and mix to your heart’s content! Empower your empowerment oil and empower your spell with that lovely empowerment oil! Just know that as long as you’ve made it your own, it will do wonders for you!

I’ll leave you with a short list of good herbs that I personally love to use as all-purpose herbs for empowerment oils, or which are great for mixing with others!

Blessed Be! )O(

Quick Project: Associations

Take a sharpie pen, and write associations on the back of your spice jar labels.

This will help for quick reference while cooking as to what intentions are going into the pot, so it were.  You can reinforce them by focusing on them, and just being generally aware of what is going in.

Use the white spaces of the labels to your advantage.  This doesn’t have to be pretty, after all, most people just have regular run-of-the-mill plastic spice containers.

This isn’t a substitute for a more practical list in your Grimoire/BoS, but it can be a quick and dirty trick. ;)

Des' healing foods: Cinnamon Sugar yellow squash

Normally it’s tea, but sometimes you need a little more than tea to get you going.

Right now, I’m sick. This is a recipe my aunt gave me, it’s not a lot of magic, bit it’s a lot of love.

What you need: • crook neck yellow squash, small • one table spoon cinnamon • 1 ½ table spoons white or brown sugar • two table spoons butter

What to do: ○ cut squash into small rounds, cutting larger rounds into fourths or halves so they cook evenly. ○ place squash into a medium pan with butter, cinnamon, and sugar. ○ cook on medium-high heat to the butter and sugar don’t burn. ○ cook until squash is tender. About 15 minutes.

What my aunt says when she makes this for me: You’re going to feel better, don’t you worry little one.

Soups and Broths in Magick

I am rather new to the witch community on tumblr but I have been interested in witchcraft for years. I have come upon a reoccurring thing, many of my friends I wish to magically aid through teas and herbal brews, do not like the taste of tea. I have found that mixing herbal blends or herbs representing what you wish to occur into soups and broths work just as well! In fact if you choose the right soup you can get sometimes better results I have found. Soup mimics tea by being easily drank and can be served warm and hot, which I find very comforting.

First it is important to choose a soup or broth that goes well taste wise with the herbs you wish to use. You want it to taste pleasant for yourself or the one you are providing it to. Though, try to find a soup or stock or broth that corresponds with what you wish to achieve with the herbs to further strengthen and increase the outcome you wish.

A short list of correspondences:

Chicken Broth/Stock: Uncrossing, new growth, fertility, sacrifice, New beginnings, rebirth

Turkey Broth/Stock: Close connections to Earth, generosity, inspiration, bounty, blessings

Beef Broth/Stock: New beginnings, femininity/female power, fertility, strength, balance

Pork Broth/Stock or Bacon: Intelligence, good luck, prosperity, curiousity, discovering new things

Fish Broth/Stock: Close connections to Water, health, improving oneself, the unconcious mind, awareness, fertility, good luck, wishes, change

Shellfish/Clam/Mussel Broth/Stock/Soup/Chowder: Protection, stopping lies/gossip/rumors, removal or treatment of stubbornness, honesty, truth, close connections to both Water and Earth, living a natural life

Shrimp Broth/Stock: love, abundance, fertility, trying new things, moving forward

Cheese base/Milk base soup/Chowder: Beauty, femininity, love, self-love, purification, rebirth

Tomato Soup: Protection, prosperity, love, uncrossing, femininity, romance and passion, negation of negativity and evil

Pumpkin Soup: Healing, prosperity, love, protection, granting wishes

Squash Soup: Psychic awareness, spiritual enlightenment

Corn Chowder: connections to the sun, luck, prosperity, abundance

Onion Soup: protection, keep evil away, healing, banishing, stability, exorcism, money, lust, and ends bad habits

Pea Soup: Kindness, connections with Air

Mushroom Soup: psychic enhancement, connections to Earth, longevity, strength, immortality

Curry/Curry Soups: banishing, healing, prosperity, protection from negativity

Soups with Noodles: Longevity, uncrossing

Soups with Rice: prosperity, blessing, money and wealth, security, good fortune to come

Soups with Barley: Love, Healing, Protection Hopefully this will be helpful for any witches who are not very big fans of the taste of teas or for anyone else for that matter. I would love to hear or see any other suggestions for tea replacements or other soups that could be used. This came straight out of my Grimoire and I hope to add more of it to this site soon. Blessed be everyone!

To the menstruating anon, try raspberry leaf, rosehips, and hops (individually) or together in herbal infusion! (Fairly sure there a little to no medical implications to these herbs) ♡

Witchy teas~ Thank you for the tips ^^

Spell to calm anxiety down

This spell was made to be super quick and simple, I hope it helps people the same way it helps me.

You’ll need one lemon, a way to heat the juice, and a white candle

• Press 1 lemon and heat the juice. • Place the candle in front of you and light it. Breathe in and out and focus on your anxiety. • Hold your drink before your eyes and concentrate on pouring your energy in it. (Optional) Say: “I hereby banish anxiety from my body and mind for these are mine and no one else’s.” • Drink the hot lemon juice. • Simply watch the candle burn for a few seconds, visualize it burning your anxiety away, then blow the candle.

This also works for emotional shocks.

Money/Prosperity/Fortune spells I usually do:

Foods:

Oatmeal, pinch o salt, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice

Diced potato, finely cut beef, salt paprika, basil, lemon zest, scrambled egg

Tilapia & Shrimp - salt, cilantro, lemon, paprika, chilli powder, basil

Steamed white rice, salt, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, milk

Green tea with lemongrass, lemon, & mint

I usually use sea salt, but whatever

Jar: Basil, Bay, Carrot, Egg shell, Lemon slices, pennies, sealed with green & yellow wax, I used Chinese lucky coins tied to a ribbon to tie around the jar.

Altar: Gold cloth, 2 green taper candles, 1 yellow chime candle, a crap load of foreign currency, pennies, serpentine, carnelian, jasper (yellow or greenish colors), dragon’s blood scent, fehu rune and/or the Sun card from shadowscapes, and some of the wands cards depending on context

Galdr: chanting “fe fe hu” for about half an hour, sometimes I mix in, depending on context fehu with uruz or ansuz and so on, and/or ansuz (the z sounds can conflate between uruz and ansuz, and the u sound can conflate hu all three, imo)

Listen to your favourite song about the subject, use lyrics like a chant. Dress up during song. Wear jewelry or clothes like a body altar (gold and green colors, brown and copper are pretty good, coins and currency signs, etc) to invite prosperity to you.

Enchanting a coin, a favourite coin, and wearing it (in your shoe, in your pocket, on a necklace, in your wallet is preferred tbh - you can even shake it to help “activate” it)

I Have Had A Lot Of Difficulties Because Of My Depression And Anxiety Lately, Which Has Made Me Not Do

I have had a lot of difficulties because of my depression and anxiety lately, which has made me not do anything basically. Now I’m just so tired of not being able to get out of bed so I decided to use what little energy I had to make a spell involving something edible. Here are my negative energy banishing cupcakes.

You’ll need:

1/2dl vegetable oil 1dl granulated sugar A few drops of vanilla essence (to make you love yourself) 1dl coffee

Mix the wet ingredients - not the coffee - together until the batter is a little lighter and fluffier. Then add the coffee and mix everything together.

Then mix the dry ingredients together in a different bowl: 1 and 3/4dl all purpose flour 1tsp vanilla sugar 1tsp baking powder 1 pinch of baking soda 2tbl of cocoa powder ~100g dark chocolate, chopped However much peppermint you want. I used dried peppermint and just crumbled it up (to clear out sickness and negative energy) A few shakes of cayenne pepper (for banishing negative thoughts)

Fold in the dry mix into the wet mix and make sure there are no clumps in there. (Except for the pieces of chocolate, of course.) Divide the mixture into 12 cupcake tins and place in oven for about 12-15 minutes at 175°C.

I also drew a sigil for self love and acceptance on the bottom of every tin with vegetable oil!

When the cupcakes are done and have cooled down you can also make a frosting. I mixed some icing sugar with water, sea salt (for protection as well as banishing) and lime juice (to brighten my mood).

Food menu for Beltane event

I’ve been planning all the food that I’ll be cooking and in spirit of the season I want to use a lot of spring and summer foods!

I’ve also kept in mind some of us are Vegetarian/vegan and have food allergies so all the food will be meat free and any food with tree nuts or onions will be properly labeled.

Here is the menu :

Foods

Deviled eggs (contains: eggs, mayonnaise, paprika, salt, black pepper)

Mama bear soup (contains: veggie sausage, thai ginger broth, sweet peppers, carrots) *Has coconut (which is considered a tree nut) and onions

Fruit salad (contains: watermelon, feta, balsamic, spinach)

Tofu stir-fry (contains: white rice, tofu, mango, sweet peppers, olive oil, salt, chili powder, paprika powder)

Beverages

Iced green tea

Strawberry-Gin Cocktail

*To make it fair so I don’t have to buy all the food myself since I’ll already be cooking it all I think it’ll be easier for each of us to buy a few of the things. I got all the spices needed for the dishes, the sweet peppers, tofu, mayo, and thai ginger broth. I can pick up more tea if needed too. @ronniepotter @immaterialwitchgirl @angelsinthephonelines @lifeunderlamplight @cardasssian

🍂     SAGE    🍂

🍂     SAGE    🍂

Sage is a very versatile plant; it’s not only used for cooking. This kitchen witch likes to make incenses from it or just plant it for decorative reasons in her garden. In my childhood however, I mainly knew the herb as a medical plant. Especially in summer, when I fell asleep with the windows still  open, I often awoke with a sore throat. Of course, my mom and her mother before her had a wonderful recipe for that - didn`t I mention that sage is a great natural remedy for a sore throat? Let’s brew some SAGE TEA! There’s a good reason, why the herb’s name is based on the Latin word “salvare” – healing - after all.

GROWING SAGE  🌱

Sage is a low maintenance, sun loving ancient Mediterranean herb. Basically it can survive mild winters outside and therefore can be harvested all year long. (I’ve had some on my balcony and now in my garden for years and it only happened once, that it didn’t make it through the dark season.) To keep the sage healthy you should cut it from springtime to late summer without removing the wooden stalks. ~~~

STORING SAGE  🌱

Drying the leaves is pretty easy. Harvest the upper parts of the stalks and pluck the leaves off, put them on a flat plate or a piece of baking paper. Don’t expose the sage to direct sunlight! Once the leaves are completely dry, just crumble them and put them into a nice glass jar. Store it at a dark and dry place. The jar above is actually the one I took from my grandmas kitchen after she had passed away. It still got her handwriting on it. ~~~

SAGE TEA  🌱

To brew one cup (1/4l) only one tablespoon of the dried or fresh leaves are required. The tea should then cool down a little before using it for curing a sore throat. From now on you should gargle three times a day (preferably after eating). Other uses for the, in this case still warm tea are to prevent night sweats and stomach ache. ~~~

More on this amazing herb later on  🍃

disclaimer: no household remedy will ever replace a visit to the doctor!

Hot Toddy for Good Health and Cheer

So, hot toddies are my absolute fave drink (read: alcoholic drink) for those cold nights where your hands are freezing and you’re feeling a little run down. They’re also a remedy for colds in one of my friend’s family, and who am I to argue with folk remedies? But I also like to put a little ~woo~ spin on it.

So, what you’ll need:

A large cup of tea (my favorite is chamomile, for its healing and sleep-inducing properties)

Honey (again, something I associate with healing in the magical as well as mundane)

A lemon slice (purification)

A cinnamon stick or a little sprinkle of cinnamon, if you can’t find cinnamon sticks (healing and strength)

Whiskey! Or liquor of your choice. I mean, you don’t have to, but this really gives it a kick. (originally distilled for medicinal purposes, I think whiskey is great for a healing drink)

Brew your tea like you normally would. Squeeze the lemon into the drink, and visualize it purifying you of any illness; add the honey (maybe in the form of a sigil if such is your jam), and focus on how it will trap any negativity and bring sweetness. Add a splash (or two or three, hey I don’t know your life) of the whiskey, thinking of it killing any foul microbes that might be lurking (this is not how it actually works in the body, though I think it’s a great visualization) and filling you with warmth (it may just be vasodillation, but it’s still a great feeling on cold nights).

Finally, take your cinnamon stick and stir either clockwise to bring in good health and happiness or counterclockwise to banish illness and negativity. Whichever feels right for you is the one I would recommend. For some reason, I tend to do clockwise when I’m just in it for the whiskey and good feelings and counterclockwise for my common colds.

Add or modify to your desire, but this is the basic outline of my hot toddy for good health and cheer!
