FIND HER clinging to the wall ; as if floor lava and she too afraid to take a step CLOSER off the rug . “ not you ? what’s … what’s stopping you ? “ is the only thing elly’s caught , repeating after him in a certain kind of CONFUSION . and it’s this : doesn’t want to imagine him as something less than her expectations , chalk it up to some romanticized version of him in her head . “ i mean . YEAH . you made it worth it , i guess . don’t … don’t usually come to these things . “
his gaze drifted to the floor, head tilting to the side in contemplation. his addictions were known to everyone but his parents, how he was managing that was a miracle, but most wouldn’t care to ask about him unless they knew of his father. “ lots goin’ on up here, ” he tapped his temple, meeting her gaze once again. not a lie, not the full truth either. “ cool. i’m glad you came then. ” he flashed her a genuine, almost sweet smile.

Irey herself had her own set of pancakes with the exception hers were covered in whipped cream and chocolate sauce that it looked so sweet that it could hurt anyone’s teeth. “As someone who grew up on the Isle, the food is literally one of my favorite things about this place. Like I don’t think I would have ever seen pancakes like these back at home.” Even in her old life before Oogie, the food wasn’t the greatest thing. “I’m a firm believer that anything food wise can be made. I’m sure when you go back you can convince someone to make spider pancakes or even waffles.”
“What’s Isle food like? Nothing good?” Good was a vague term for the former ghoul but he expected that even the Isle was a terrible place by Halloweentown standards. “Yeah... I won’t be back home for awhile.” He skewered a piece of strawberry, popping it into his mouth. “But I wondered if they’d make it here. I don’t see many spiders around though. Wonder if they even have any.” Salem was only half serious but a lot of creatures, insects included, were dying early in the harsh weather.

AND REALLY , every part of her is telling her to turn tail and run , go hide out on the bench out front and just wait for something to swallow her up — but she steels herself . it’s a ghost of a smile that passes over her lips , switch slipping into small purse backpack before she looks to the OTHER , rocks back and forth on her feet . “ … you did good , “ she says , softly , eyes flittering back down to the ground , because it’s easier to look at canvas shoes than it is to look at him , and she could just call it quits , but pushes further . ( does she even have a right to ? she doesn’t know . ) “ why don’t you … play that often ? you’re clearly good at it . “
hot and cold. it was always the way she left him feeling. already a terrible judge of character, he had no sense for reading people, so he gave up on trying to read her weeks ago. otherwise, his head would always be left spinning. “ i need to have a clear head and --- that’s not really me. ” the only reason he had felt like performing tonight was because he wanted to feel like his old self. in halloweentown, he been very in tune with who he was when he was alive. memories of his passing were still fuzzy but he remembered a lot about his old life. those memories rapidly dissipated when his addictions started. “ but i’m glad ya enjoyed the show ! ”
"How'd you get this?" salem & adelaine!
The male shrugged, taking another drag from his cigarette. “Could’ve been a fall, an accidentally broken bottle --- wait, no. It had to be the time I totally failed at this party trick I was trying to do.”

♛ — Charlie let out a big laugh, all this talk was reminding him of fun memories from back of the day. “I’m a whatever-gets-me-in-a-good-mood kind og guy but i’ll say vodka for sure.” — ♛
“Got it.” It wasn’t much longer before they finally arrive at Salem’s place and he was digging around in his designated liquor cabinet, pulling out a couple large bottles. “Beer’s in the fridge if you want to help yourself while I get this ready and make yourself comfortable!” He called out over his shoulder.

“It’s not exactly at the best of standards. Alot is just pretty okay and the stuff that was considered really good was very expensive.” She remembered how she stole some food once and they almost caught her but she managed to get away. Taking a bite of her pancake. “Maybe in the dungeons or in the woods. I know when I’ve come from visiting my dad I saw like a spider web. Maybe not in the school though. I swear its like that place is spot clean.” She said dramatically but she doubt that anything like that would be hard to find.
“That’s the irony here, the cheap stuff is better than the expensive stuff.” Salem would take a fast food burger any day over some five course meal filled with all kinds of weird food. Weird in a not good way to the Halloween prince. “The woods are fun. Quiet, these days.” Not just because of the cold, but because people were afraid of what was lurking within the woods. “But you’re right about the school. I lived in Halloweentown until my parents figured it’d be better if I attended high school here.” And now that he had graduated, he was doing nothing to make it all worth it.
Getting drunk with a prince? Must be a royal of a great time.

“Don’t be so coy,” Maleficent chuckled, “I heard they were engaged.” She finally got the information she needed, and it was better than she could possibly imagine. Something with his senses, and not something small either, something she could fix, or give the appearance of fixing. But the spell could do more too, he could become a literal pawn in her hands. It gave her access to everyone, the other Auradonians, Halloweentown….everything! And, if she could harness his power…well the Horned King would be very jealous if she raised an army of the dead without him. “Is that all?” She said, eyebrow raised, “Well that’s not too hard to fix.”
“That’s... even if that’s true there’s gotta be a reason. Elva’s not an idiot.“ She was the smartest person that he knew which may not say much these days. Most of his “friends” were only around him for the parties. A brow quirked when she made light of his ability but hope, true hope, he felt it for the first time in a long time. “So, you can fix me? Please, do it. I’ll do anything, I swear on my grave.” If she could really do this then he would be free. He could give up his addictions and be the person he used to be.

So he really didn’t remember her, how annoying. “Do you think some VK is better than you? Really? And haven’t you seen him around with everyone else? She’s not the only one in his heart…not the way you hold only her in your heart.” She held up her hand and let a few green sparks fly, “Does this jog your memory? Tell me what’s wrong, maybe I can help.”
“What are you talking about?” He had failed to keep up with all the auradon gossip and the cold only gave him more reason to stay inside lately. “Oh---” He realized what he must have asked her when they first met. “I -- I don’t know if I can.” The words of his secret felt heavy on his tongue but he was desperate for any kind of help. “I have this ability that I don’t know how to control and I don’t want it. It drives me insane.”
wickedissms:
Begging. He was begging her to fix him. Was he really that stupid? Were all Auradonians like that? He didn’t even know her name and he was going to let her into his mind. “Alright, sit down. I’m going to put a barrier up in your mind. Technically you’ll still hear and see the dead, but your brain won’t communicate that information to your conscious mind. We do it all the time naturally anyway,” She waited for him to get comfortable and put two fingers on each side of his temples. She let out a deep breath and breached his mind.
A barrier. That was what he had been trying to achieve with the drinking and drugs this whole time but it never lasted. It only became harder to keep it up and it was creating a more permanent barrier between him and everyone he cared about. “Okay,” he agreed softly, relaxing and letting out a soft sigh as he tried to clear his head. It felt odd, wrong almost, to have let someone else willingly into his head but he tried not to resist, tried to let go so she could do whatever she needed to with her magic.
What will your parents think if they heard you talked to the daughter of Oogie Boogie?
