okay, so maybe harry had finally met someone that could actually drink more than he could. and that was saying something. he’d quickly lost count of just how many glasses had been thrown back over who knew how long. back pressed against the bed, harry let out a giggle, blinking as he tried to focus his vision. oh, yeah, he was drunk. “tha’ was… fun. didn’t think anyone could out drink me,” the first mate slurred.
“told ya!” he exclaimed, finishing off his last drink before he collapsed beside the pirate. it was a major accomplishment in his book and he would take it for all that it was worth. “don’t uh forget in the mornin’ that ya owe me a bottle of rum,” he reminded with a cheeky grin, staring at the other male for a moment before latching onto his arm like it was teddy bear. “it was close though.”

Elva sighed and wrapped her arms around Salem, letting her anger fade and just taking a moment to remind him that the only reason she was mad because she cared about him. “You’re right,” She said quietly, “I didn’t give you a choice, I was so worried about hurting you that I didn’t even think there was a choice.” She pulled away but kept a hand on his arm. “I’m not forcing you to do anything, Salem, but if you really care about me, you’ll…I don’t know…get it together.” She smiled slightly, “Starting with us being friends again, okay?”
The hug was a surprise and a reminder just how touch starved he had been, he craved the touch of someone that actually cared. “I do care but --- I need something to help me.” Something to help keep away the insanity of being able to commune with the dead. His arms had come up to circle around her waist but they fell just as soon as she pulled away. “Okay but ---” It felt like he was making excuses for everything these days. “Is that really okay? Even if I do fix my shit, it’s not going to happen overnight.”
Salem had a lot of guilt building up in every single pore of his body. He had yet to tell his parent’s of his new ability as a human and not to mention the addictive habits he was hiding. Thankfully, his mother always warned him before coming to visit so he had been able to take the bare minimum of his daily dose of drugs to keep himself sane but at least of a somewhat sound mind. It was a good thing odd behavior was the usual for him, drugs or no drugs. “Fascinating?” He repeated in a questioning tone, as he continued to search through the clothing patches. Salem loved simply sitting with his mother as she worked, playing with the fabrics as he listened to her speak. “I liked being a ghost. Easier to scare people that way,” he mumbled like a petulant child.

Though knowing full well that her children were fully grown adults, she was also aware that they shared their father’s affinity for mischief making. While Sally herself found the trait to be endearing, she realized that other’s in Auradon might not exactly take well to some of their… antics, not in the way their parents could. Some people just didn’t understand what they viewed as ‘too different’, or downright 'weird’. So, she wanted to make sure she checked in on them every now and again. Not pestering, but simply as a mother who wanted her children to know that she would always be there for them. Pale fingers sifted through a basket filled to the brim with various clothing patches, colorful fabric also strewn about the floor around her sewing station. “You know, I almost miss stitching myself together after a nasty spill,” she mused lightly, gaze traveling to Salem with a small smile. “Then again, it’s still so fascinating, being this way. Don’t you think?”

“i think there is hope for everyone, if there is hope for me then there must be hope for you and who knows maybe tomorrow you will met someone better than me, there are plenty of people who are better than me in many ways, including more forgiving,” he responded easily to the other male, looking down before offering him a shy smile. “yeah, i think that would be for the best,” gil giggled as he pushed away the drink. “oh – they are so nice,” he breathed in awe, running his fingers over salem’s tattoos gently, “not yet. me and uma, harry and carlos are going to get matching ones,” he smiled, his expression showing just how smitten he is with his partners.
“shut up already with that. you’re the best.” he wrapped an arm around the other’s neck, ruffling his hair in a playful manner before he let him go. salem took the drink, downing the last bit himself before watching as gil traced the lines of his tattoos. “don’t touch me too much, gil.” he teased the other. “don’t want angry pirates on my ass.” he winked, knowing that gil was nothing but loyal and salem would never try to tempt someone who was taken, not even in his drunk state. “you guys are lucky to have each other the way that you do. i’m happy for you.” he meant that because as much as he envied their bond, he wanted nothing but for gil and harry to be happy. they had both been there for him in some of his lowest moments.

She let out a laugh. “Well they are both very different from one another.” She said. “I mean the only real common thing between them is that you’re looking for treats and its usually in the form of candy.”
“oh yeah, candy’s always good.” not as good as what he actually desire but he really needed to get his mind off his parched throat. “hey, let’s go to one of the booths or like, explore or something.”
i rely a bit too heavily on alcohol and sarcasm.
What will your parents think if they heard you talked to the daughter of Oogie Boogie?
honesty hour.
“ i don’t know really but there’s worse things they could be mad about. i didn’t say anything that she couldn’t find out on her own. ”

“Oh please, you have to know…the way he looks at Uma. You can hear them from the dock…and sometimes Carlos De Vill is there too.” She hoped her casual tone made it sound more humiliating for Elva. “There is no progress without breaking down walls,” She said sagely, a true sentiment but not one she usually followed. “I can’t help you if you dot tell me,”
“She’s his captain... De Vil?” Salem shook his head, not wanting to think badly of Harry because he was a cool guy to hang out with but Elva was his best friend. Feelings or no feelings, he never wanted to see someone hurt her. “I can see ghosts. They talk to me, yell at me or sometimes just scream. I don’t know it depends on how they died I guess. It’s just too much sometimes.” All the time. “Sometimes I can even feel they’re pain and I-- I am not strong enough to handle all that.”
