♛ — “i rather they talk about politics then have them spilling rumors saying I left because I beasted out and hurt someone or my parents sent me away from the kingdom because I was and I quote too much too handle.” Charlie wasn’t one to turn down an offer when it came to things like that, heck half of what he did when he was away involved things of that nature. ”You really offering, because I would say if you are lets go right now then. “ — ♛
“ okay, okay. no more rumor talk. ” he clapped a hand on the royal’s shoulder. “ i never kid about alcohol, it’s a problem but not really. ” he chuckled, glad to have found a drinking buddy for the afternoon. “ c’mon, i have got plenty of choices. mostly beer but if you like the hard stuff i have a few things. ” he let the other go, leading him back to his apartment.

Elva stood awkwardly for a moment, not knowing what to do. “Salem…I do love you, just not like that.” She tried to search her feelings, to find something that might give him hope, and even felt guilty about that. She was supposed to be with Harry, she wasn’t supposed to be trying to make Salem feel better. Still, Salem was her best friend. She wanted him to be happy. “I wish I could say something to make this better. I’ll always be here for you, that hasn’t changed. And nothing has to change between us unless you want it to.”
“I --- I don’t know what I want.” This was a mistake. He knew the chances of rejection were high and he was trying to keep himself stable enough to not need the drugs and alcohol anymore. This was doing the opposite of that and no, Elva was not to blame in the slightest but right now, he couldn’t be near her. “I um --- I should go and clear my head.” He ran his fingers through his hair, blowing out a frustrated sigh as he tried to muster up some semblance of a smile.

Elva sighed and wrapped her arms around Salem, letting her anger fade and just taking a moment to remind him that the only reason she was mad because she cared about him. “You’re right,” She said quietly, “I didn’t give you a choice, I was so worried about hurting you that I didn’t even think there was a choice.” She pulled away but kept a hand on his arm. “I’m not forcing you to do anything, Salem, but if you really care about me, you’ll…I don’t know…get it together.” She smiled slightly, “Starting with us being friends again, okay?”
The hug was a surprise and a reminder just how touch starved he had been, he craved the touch of someone that actually cared. “I do care but --- I need something to help me.” Something to help keep away the insanity of being able to commune with the dead. His arms had come up to circle around her waist but they fell just as soon as she pulled away. “Okay but ---” It felt like he was making excuses for everything these days. “Is that really okay? Even if I do fix my shit, it’s not going to happen overnight.”

“I’m sure there’s some other way to figure it out. As for priorities, I really think this should be a top one. What if you don’t come back the next time you die? Not even as a ghost?” It was a concept that sent a shiver running up her spine. “I’m fairly certain that possessing someone would be considered wrong. At least without consent to do so.”
“Then that’s it. That’s my end.” The words fall far too casually from his mouth and he continues smiling, truly having no worries. “Then don’t.” He shrugged. “Seems like you get hung up on details. Maybe just let it go,” he suggested with a small chuckle.

okay, so maybe harry had finally met someone that could actually drink more than he could. and that was saying something. he’d quickly lost count of just how many glasses had been thrown back over who knew how long. back pressed against the bed, harry let out a giggle, blinking as he tried to focus his vision. oh, yeah, he was drunk. “tha’ was… fun. didn’t think anyone could out drink me,” the first mate slurred.
“told ya!” he exclaimed, finishing off his last drink before he collapsed beside the pirate. it was a major accomplishment in his book and he would take it for all that it was worth. “don’t uh forget in the mornin’ that ya owe me a bottle of rum,” he reminded with a cheeky grin, staring at the other male for a moment before latching onto his arm like it was teddy bear. “it was close though.”

Elva frowned, putting her hands on her hips. “Yeah, yeah, you can’t stay out of trouble. It’s nothing serious.” She shook her head, “You know what Salem, I–” She paused, unable to actually swear even given the circumstances, “I am really upset with you!” She shook her head, “If you think for a second I ended our friendship because I didn’t want to be around you, you’re more of an idiot than I thought. I cut everyone out because I didn’t want to hurt them. Because I wanted to protect you from me.” He knew that. He had to know that, “And I have been…” She looked down at her feet, her snowflake pendant glowing, “I have been so alone because of that. But it was worth it because everyone I loved was okay. But if you’re going to screw up and get yourself into trouble anyway then what did I do that for?” She demanded, angry at him again. “Now, I’m…I’m not going to be that person anymore. You’re going to get your shit together if I have to drag you to rehab myself–do you understand?”
Regret and hurt melted together as she yelled at him, telling him her most honest feelings. “But we never asked you to do that! I lost you, Elva. I lost someone that I lo-- cared about.” He caught himself just in time, wanting her to see that it should have been his choice if he wanted to take the risk of being her friend or not. His head was starting to spin more than usual. What did she want from him? He was a loser, plain and simple. His life was so screwed up and the only escape he could see at this point was to literally run away back to his home town. “I’m not going to rehab,” he spat out suddenly, focusing on the word like she had slapped him with it. Going to rehab meant announcing to everyone, including his family, how royally screwed up he really was.

“Fabulous you’re feeling better.” Maleficent said, deciding to employ her technique. She let the shape of the petite princess fall away and instead she was herself. But she made his mind think nothing of it. She was Maleficent mistress of darkness, but nothing was amiss. Nothing was wrong certainly. He wouldn’t tell anyone about her but he didn’t need to examine why. “Maybe now you can go get your little ice princess.” She smiled, keeping a hold on his mind.
When he pulled away, a new face greeted him but nothing registered as wrong, he was only curious. “Never thought I would be hugging, well, you.” Salem assumed she would get his meaning. “I don’t know... I still have to get clean and that’s gonna be a pain in the ass. Voices or no voices.” Withdrawals were no joke. Even a day of trying to go cold turkey was painful, mentally and physically, but he knew he could do it now that his main drive pushing him towards drugs and alcohol was gone.
the halloween prince was letting himself ride high on the good feelings of the festival. slightly tipsy but not wasted, he was trying to get better after all. “ damn, you caught me on the one day i don’t have my old friend jack daniels with me ! ” the male chuckled, offering his sympathies. “ but enjoy the good mood and let go. have you seen the face painting booth, yet? they got some wicked stuff going on, i’m thinking of asking to get a skull painted on me. ” a fitting tribute to his father.
in clutch : a small designer wallet in her right hand , and a tall glass of pink moscato in her left … though it’s EMPTY , by now . the spring festival ? it’s supposed to be fun . it’s supposed to be happy . but for someone like charity ? it’s only BORING . there’s talks of unity , and of banishing tensions between vks and aks . and perhaps all that is good , it’s just … charity doesn’t care . after all — it hardly concerned her . she’s an ak . she’s royalty . so , cue dramatics ! she wants to have some fun of her own . “ SIGH . if i’m going to get through this , i don’t need another drink . i need another bottle . ”

“I’ll be the judge of that.” Elva chuckled despite herself. She glanced behind them. “Just stay with me for an hour and they’ll lose their nerve, everyone does around me.” And they should, she was dangerous. She sighed and tucked her arm into Salem’s. This way it could just be for the act, she didn’t have to admit anything to him. Definitely not that she missed him.
I don’t. The words wanted to come out with the same ferocity he used to chase a high but coming from him, he knew they would offer no comfort. He was too much of a mess to be a good friend anymore. “I doubt they’ll follow me for that long, I’m not worth all that trouble. Ten minutes tops."
