I HOPE

I hope

We will cross our paths again.

And bring my fate

To see you once again

I remember,

I can't even look you in the eyes.

Because whenever I do

I feel butterflies in my stomach.

In four corners of the room

And in the midst of the crowd.

There's only you I haven't spoken to.

Because I'm terrified.

Whenever I see you walk in the hallway

My heart melts.

And the way you flip your hair

It gets me overwhelmed.

We never talked to each other.

But somebody noticed it too.

Frightened for them to realize

I've had a crush on you

I made this poem last year January 5, 2024, to be exact. I thought of doing this when I was remembering how a particular person made me feel overwhelmed every time I saw him, he's my classmate when I was in 1st year at San Juan De Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. - College 😭🫶

“I have no problems with being single or being in a relationship but I have noticed that most people nowadays perceive being single as something peculiar. Being single is not a disease that needs constant check-ups or treatments. It doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong about you. So chill, my friend. Chill. Stop interrogating your friends why they’re still single like it’s an illegal act or something.”

You know how rigged the system was when unfairness, inequality, prejudice, and discrimination happened. It could stop when people being favored are the ones who are standing up and speaking up for the truth, but these people could also be the ones who compromise the system by the influence of money, power and favoritism. An educational institution is neither a business nor a political system.

Bakit kahit sa panaginip ko, ikaw ang hinahanap ko kahit hindi ko masilayan ang iyong presensya, bakit ikaw ang hanap ko, kahit wala ka roon.
