Hi! I really admire how you come up with so many completely different and unique monsters and OCs! I would never in my life have thought of giving a character the same face as Kolven, for example, and I started to worry, but don’t you get tired of looking for ideas for NPCs and enemies? Do you come up with designs for them yourself or do you watch the work of other artists and get inspired by them? (or both idk)
Every time I see new art from you, I restrain myself not to squeal with delight!!
Thank you! Personally, I find designing characters and creatures really therapeutic and fun. Drawing strange and biologically impossible things in detail can be a fun way to pass the time, though making them work in engine is much more of a chore.
I like to look at specimen of ancient creatures for inspiration, so many strange and otherworldly things existed in the past, and that both gives me a sense of awe and anxiety. It's a great place to look for inspiration!
Mercury came to me when I was feeling confused and disconnected. I imagined a successful business man who one day woke up to find that his face had fallen off, leaving a black abstract void behind. I thought of what would bubble up from that void, to show how he was truly feeling, so I drew simplistic symbolic eyes and abstract patterns into his face. Identity means a lot to me, and I think of a person who has been brought down to the components of what they are, rather than who they are.

I have been addicted to the website 'Albumoftheyear.com' recently and have decided to put my addiction to rating music to some practical use and I have started a Dark Cabaret music list! my list includes my personal ratings, including short blurbs about how I feel about every project. If you're ever looking for a good list of Dark Cabaret music, there is another place to find one!
I, of course, also have two Spotify playlists to get wondering souls an easy route in or for those who perhaps just want another fan of the music's personal touch on a genre they know and love! Links for all of those things are at the bottom!

a semi-comprehensive blinkie making guide
blinkies! they’re fun, cute, they infected every corner of the internet at one point, and i’m gonna help you bring the art of making them back so they can infect it again!! Please use these powers for good if i see komaeda kinnie blinkies popping up left and right i’m deleting my blog and yours too because i invented the internet and i can do that
i’m going to be using aseprite for this guide- it’s my favorite pixel art tool out there right now that i talked about earlier coincidentally! if you want a copy for yourself, it’ll run you about $15USD. it’s important to use an art tool that lets you edit gifs as frames. if what you’re running won’t allow you to edit or make gifs, you might have to edit each frame individually and then string the still images together on ezgif or something. i’m pretty sure most programs out there will let you edit gifs though!! aseprite is by no means mandatory for blinkie making, just a little redommendation n_n
so, the blinkies you usually see have dimensions of 150 x 20px! the golden ratio for blinkies if i do say so myself. most blinkies have 2-4 frames, sometimes more! feel free to add however many you need for your desired animation n_n but if you’re looking to make a simple blinkie, 2 should be just fine!
here i edited a blinkie template and added a graphic (on a separate layer- layers are important!) to it- all i did for the next frame was change the colors a bit! easy!
(pink dashes become yellow and vice versa to give the blinkie effect)
you can always start from scratch on an empty 150x20 canvas, but i like to use blank templates (↑ like this one ↑) and edit them to my liking! it saves some time :-) once you have your design finished, add whatever text you want! i sometimes use my own fonts that i just draw out, but other times i’ll just insert some text and adjust it how i want it n_n do whatever you think looks best!
this should be obvious, but make sure you have your text and whatnot pasted into every frame! or at least the frames you want it to be visible in. after that you should be good to save it as a gif and use your blinkie!

Ahmm, yeah, I pretty just adore every single one of them(Some have certain boundaries for the things they've done in the past, I'm fair)
But maybe Crash from Awful Hospital. I LOVE his design, and he's so so funny, did you know the main inspiration for his character was AM? He even recite the hate speech from AM, except hr changed the words "hate" to "boredom", and end up just being a speech about how much Crash hates being bored. Did I ever told you how much I love his design?

And his character writing is so complex, and his death wish is so, so wistful and sad. And it's not because he talks about wanting to kill himself in a sad way, but the way he treats suicide as if it were already something normal in his life. I genuinly almost cried in his death scene.
Theres also Outrage!! Such a sassy fella. I love his character writing so so much and his character development is PERFECT. Hes funny and have a lovely design. YOU HAVE TO READ OUTRAGE.
