It seems the treatment has proven quite effective. Ah, perfect timing. The afternoon snacks are ready too.

This is a special dessert prepared with help from Ya-chan and Te-chan. You won't find a taste this enchanting in any other establishment.

Everyday, I go insane about how little content there is of Baizhu (and when there is it's just so fucked up 😭 no shade to those who like it but how on earth is Baizhu tag on AO3 looking like just a list of trigger warnings in DMMD)

Dating Baizhu had always been quite an interesting experience, but with time you quickly got used to his quirks. One of them being Changsheng telling on him when he's neglecting himself.

You were preparing a small surprise for his birthday, nothing too extravagant but still a sweet gesture for your beloved...

That is until you noticed the adepti slithering your way. Your attention went to her right away as she explained what's going on.

With Gui being out of commission and Qiqi caring for patients, Baizhu's fatigue- although his own doing- was something that worried you.

So while it wasn't like he was sick, due to his condition it sometimes feels like it's one and the same. Besides, if he'd listen to anyone that would be you... Sometimes.

And once he saw you with Changsheng around your arm he already knew what the snake was up to.

Despite your worried expression he only laughed and tried to reassure you that he was okay... Emphasis on tried because he looked like he was going to pass out any second.

You walked up to his desk and took his hands, placing away the brush he was writing with "You're impossible..." Was the only thing you said at the moment before he started with more excuses.

After all this season changing makes it so easy to get sick he was only trying to write up a list of remedies... Maybe make some sort of pamphlet or advertisement with his advice and some easy to make remedies and recipes...

Speaking of which he was just done thinking of one. He wrote down the special tea blend and yet he hasn't made it to check if his curse of bitter medicine touched also on tea as well.

As he kept on talking you decided to agree to taste test the tea, but only if he rested afterwards. That compromise he could agree to.

You went on to follow the written instructions and by the time you were done he actually fell asleep on his desk.

(If you're strong) Rolling your eyes, you pick up your lover gently. Trying to not jostle him awake and took him to his home which was pretty much a part of the pharmacy. His work really is his whole life...

Once he's settled in his bed you take off his glasses and look closely at his handsome face. Adoring every wrinkle and yet... Finding yourself worried upon looking at the dark circles under his eyes.

He probably forgot it was his birthday too, which wouldn't be the first time. You lay down next to him and tuck a strand of his hair behind his ear and just let him rest. It was still pretty early so you'd get to spoil him for his birthday later today anyways.

For now, you just enjoyed the silent moment. You wanted to be with him when he wakes up. As you thought about your plans however you tried to think of a way to make him follow you. Of course he's not THAT stubborn... But you never know what his priorities will be once he wakes up. Especially since today looked like "work priority" day for him.

(If you're not strong enough to lift him) You didn't like how he was positioned and yet you didn't know if you wanted to gamble waking him up and then trying to argue with him to sleep. Because despite his promise you had a feeling he'd think of a way to do as he pleased.

After a moment of hesitation you decided to trust your lover's word and woke him up. He apologized for his drowsiness and went ahead to ask you questions about his medicine.

You answered his questions quickly to change the subject to his promise. Which he remembered and his little nap made him aware of his lack of arguments.

He leaned onto you and together you walked to his home. Of course he didn't fall asleep the moment he laid down. The two of just talked for a while. Holding each other close until he drifted away.

Hi, and thank you for your request! I hope you have a good day as well :) I'm glad someone else noticed about this! The fandom will typically remember her only as being a smug Electro tall busty mommy, shipped to Ei, with a pinch of lewdness in her mind, and who gives PTSD to Gorou through teasing him... while there is a bit more to her than only that. Oh and I didn't expect it to become so long... seems like inspiration struck me for that one. I hope you like it nonetheless!

Loneliness fluff/comfort with lonely GN reader and Yae Miko

Based on the fact that only few people would find out about her loneliness, I headcanon that she can hide it very well, if not also manage it on her own fairly well

I mean, anyone other than her trustable S/O would certainly not pass beyond her front of teasing and smugness... and even there, she has an image to uphold, so she probably wouldn't speak clearly about it; only hints at best (being vulnerable remains difficult, not just for humans)

Being a youkai, she will inevitably outlive humans by several generations, which doesn't help to genuinely bond with one...

... but you're different, and, somehow, you retained her attention the moment she saw you for the first time, during a visit to the Grand Narukami Shrine

It took a bit of time to develop, but she went from just her ears lightly twitching & facing you the moment you would enter her sight, to asking for your feedback about light novels, and even accompanying her for some kitsune udon or some tea

Yet, she soon began to wonder if there isn't something else about you... something she knows too well to simply ignore

At this time of day, when the Sun is down and the Moon is high in the starlit sky, rare are the guests who dare make the trip to the peak of Mt. Yougou, where lies the Grand Narukami Shrine. The head of the Shrine was taking her usual midnight stroll around, when she heard familiar steps breaking the silence.

"Well, who do we have here?"

With the grace and elegance you know well by now, her moonlit form closed the gap between the two of you.

"It isn't like you to visit me so late, S/O."

"Indeed, well... let's just say that I'm... struggling to find sleep tonight."

A light giggle escaped her lips, her facial expression softening.

"I see. After all, only a fool would make the trip up here while being sleepy."

Her sight focused into your eyes while you smiled at her words. Then, she walked besides you and, seeing that all the other shrine maidens are gone, she used this opportunity to unveil one of her tails, wrapping it swiftly around your waist.

"Come with me. The sky is clear tonight, so we ought to enjoy the view, don't you think?"

"Hmm."

You nod and move along - or rather, let yourself be led by - her, to the edge of the shrine, where lies the Sacred Sakura. The sea reflects the night's sky beautifully, and a light breeze animates the lanterns and hairs alike.

"Tell me, S/O... You didn't come here only with the hope of exhausting yourself throughout the trip, did you?"

You took a glance at her, noticing her eyes meeting yours, before you glanced back to the horizon and released a low sigh.

"An astute observation. Well..."

"You seeked some company, in the try to fill a certain void... am I right?"

You knew that foxes are considered to be smart creatures, but you certainly didn't expect her to see right through you.

"... yes. Correct."

Her eyes closed briefly, before a sigh escaped her. As they opened again, you could feel how her tail's grip increased lightly around your form... if not even pulling you a little bit closer from her.

"I have to admit, I'm simultaneously afflicted but also... relieved, in a way, that you are the close one who can relate to the void. No matter how satisfying or amusing a daily routine may be... ultimately, when the quiet settles in, certain thoughts tend to return. These thoughts that we would rather not pay attention to during the day... but which we can't really avoid at night."

A frown fills your face as you think about her words and connect the dots, bit by bit, while remembering moments where you simply sat down and remained still, as if paralyzed by the void - only tonight the idea of a mind-cooling stroll reached your mind. She stares at you the whole time, resting her cheek in the palm of her hand, while her elbow rests on the railing.

"So, you also... feel lonely?"

"Well, it would be a lie to say this feeling is completely unknown to me."

"I... see."

She exhales, calmly, before reaching out for you with her hand, gently embracing your hand with hers. You glance down at her hand at first, before leading your sight up to her face, just to be welcomed by a comforting smile.

"Come."

Trusting her, you nod and let yourself be led inside a building from the shrine. From this point on, she knees down and gently pulls your form along - ending up with your head comfortably resting on her laps, and her 4 other tails emerging from behind, enveloping your body in a comfortable and fairly cozy embrace.

"I will keep watch against those evil thoughts tonight. We don't want them to interrupt my dear S/O now, mhh?"

You gaze up at her face as she gently breathes those words out. She uses her 5 tails to slowly rub along your back, while one of her hands strokes along the back of your head then neck, some of her delicate fingers even caressing your cheek.

Unprepared for this divine level of comfort, your lips part lightly in surprise, and it doesn't take long until you release a yawn, and for your eyes to feel heavy.

She admires how you manage to untense, even to feel comfortable enough to progressively doze off, right on her laps - feeling safe in her presence, when anyone else would be put off by her teasing. You don't and won't escape from it, mind you, but she gives you a special, softer treatment, only reserved to those worthy of her close and private attention... and tonight, you discovered a new side of it.

For once in a while, you feel lighter, as if a weight was taken off your shoulders. You needn't worry, this time, about the recurring thoughts, because they have no reason to come tonight: at long last, someone else shares the burden of the void with you.

And, for once in a long time, she needn't worry too much about her image to uphold: she's no longer alone, when it comes to dealing with loneliness. Her dear S/O knows, too, how it feels, and even if she would never admit it openly and clearly, she's grateful to have met an understanding S/O like you - someone whose presence in her near, is already a comfort in itself.

Based on how she reacted about her critters, I doubt she would be vastly different when it comes to a S/O, even when sick

After all, having a S/O will not suddenly remove your troubles to express your feelings and emotions, or magically make you able to display affection, when you've never done it until now

Chances are, though, that she might introduce you to her private hobbies, could be somewhat curious about your opinions on certain matters, and more generally, will noticeably pay attention to you

Unless you happen to have hobbies in common with her, she will otherwise keep a relative distance from you

Despite this, as her S/O, you will show up in her thoughts far more than anyone else ever did or could... but she will never admit it, unknowing how to even process it

Now, if her S/O happens to be sick... expect her to check your temperature by herself, similarly to the first encounter with her in the Herta Space Station

If you tend to struggle with following medication, well, good news for you! She will personally ensure that you will... even if it means incorporating it within cakes or tea (she has experience in that regard, Stelle/Caelus can testify)

Speaking of cakes and tea, you can expect to receive them regularly; if not as help (hot tea when you have a bad cough, for example), then as a form of comfort food

She won't keep you company 24/7, even under normal circumstances (and she definitely doesn't seem like the cuddly type), but she would still let you message her, if you need something

And if the sickness would be strong enough to keep you stuck in bed all day however... she might then offer to stay during the meals

Overall, she would express her care (as minimal as it may be) through little gestures and acts of service, rather than with words or physical presence

If you pay enough attention, and if you're lucky enough, then perhaps... you might witness a few tiny smiles on her otherwise unsmiling face

But that's only likely to happen when you would announce the good news of the symptoms starting to disappear, and that your recovery is finally there

If it's just a cold, she knows you will recover from it in due time, so she sees no reason to feel worried (and even less to express it anyhow)

The scientist leads you to the kitchen area, and hands you a piece of cake on a plate, alongside its spoon. You sit in the armchair opposite to her, but before you could even taste it, you couldn't hold back a sneeze, causing her sight to focus on you.

"You're getting sick."

"I'm not sure, maybe it's just-"

You found yourself interrupted in your speech, due to her hand casually resting on your forehead, and her gaze scanning your eyes with nearly as much focus and emotion as a robot would.

"Probably just a cold. However, you should rest from now on."

"You're right... I will."

"Good. You will get tea and cakes, to reward your good behavior. As for the medicine... I will fetch it for you."

"That's nice of you."

"Mhh. Make sure to not skip it."

"I do hope it won't be that kind of medicine with a terrible taste..."

Upon hearing these words, she gave you a view that seemed rather amused.

"If that's one of your worries, then surely you wouldn't mind the taste of the tea and cakes to be... slightly different from what you're used to."

"This... won't be necessary... I hope. I would rather keep their original tastes."

"That will be up to you, S/O."

Aware of the hidden rule between you two that his patience mustn't be tested, you willingly remain quiet for the rest of the path, until he places you on a high tree branch.

"Looks like they've been waiting for you."

You barely spent a whole second sitting on the branch, and you could already hear some meows coming from nearby and, soon enough, their origin showing up in your view. All properly taken care of.

"They look so healthy, it's always a relief to see!"

"Hmph. Good for them."

You can't help but progressively glance at him, sitting further away, and giving you a rather gentle - for him - glare, all the while witnessing how your laps turn into fluffballs.

"You take care of them in secret, don't you? That must be it!"

"But some villagers could have done that too. You're not the only one who would willingly become their big prey."

"Riiiiight..."

You won't dig in further about it, but as food for thoughts, you will remember that he, technically speaking, did not deny it.

Just as his sight was recovering by looking elsewhere, and while your hands were busy providing some headpats, one brave cat began meowing toward the familiar-looking living scarecrow figure... with as much bravery as the puppet's lack of scaring effect, for those who got to know him.

"What does it want? Tsk. Just leave me alone already."

Despite his protest, the brave cat soon enough led the charge, resulting in not just his laps getting covered by fluffballs too, much to your awe.

"Fine, you won this time... Let's just get this over with."

As a cat enjoyer, you notice that he doesn't struggle with distributing headpats, nor do they go unnoticed by the fluffballs. You remain quiet, to let him enjoy this temporary yet genuine comfort moment, as brief as it may be.

The headpats demand increases on your laps, resulting in your attention being drawn away from him... much to his relief. The last thing he would want, is someone staring at him, right when he allows himself a break for once.

You know very well that he will deny enjoying that encounter, if asked later about it... but your eyes didn't lie to you, when you witnessed him subtly enjoying the felines' presence.

oh no it was totally all my fault 😂 i couldn't get any matcha powder so i substituted it for matcha tea powder, and i couldn't get any rose powder or whatever's it's called for the pink ones so i got rose oil instead. but i tipped so much in the bowl that it was tacky and sticky, so i kept adding more flour to fix it (against my friends advice), lo and behold the pink ones were the most inedible of the three... those were our entry for a genshin meal cook off with friends too, so while everyone else brought smoked chicken and mora meat, all we had to show for ourselves was our multicoloured play dough that had gone all soggy from being in the fridge overnight 💔 fun memories though

Ei will be glad to have some social time with someone like her

The two of you decided to attempt preparing some Tricolor Dango Balls, hoping that a favourite snack would be more motivating, thus with higher chances of success

The result was... anything but that, not just because of the potato shapes, but also due to the, somehow, identical color for each of them

... and the lack of noticeable taste

At least, it doesn't look nor smell too much like poison

In any case, judge Yae Miko could still ask a certain Gorou to taste-try instead, as a gesture of "apology" for all the past teasing he got from her

When it comes to Hu Tao, you will naturally go along very well with her too, like with Ei

As for Ayato, it will be an original type of break from work

He's used to playing Genius Invokation TCG with Itto anyway, so he won't mind another form of curious... "originality"

They will both help you, even using your lack of knowledge as inspiration to try something new

Then will come the time to have a taste of the result... well, more like finding a guinea pig

It would be more fun interesting to receive exterior feedback, after all

As for Hu Tao, well... how about going for a stroll through Liyue Harbor? Surely there's a merchant out there in need of some mood boost, after losing a commercial contract to a competitor

Needless to say, Shinobu's 6th sense for incoming troubles triggered after hearing all that... and it didn't take long for the stove itself to be on fire

"Holy moly pepperoni, who summoned the Pyro Archon in here?! We don't even have any offerings ready! Shinobu, do something! Help!"

Your stomach will be full for the day... but your mind will have reached its monthly limit of speech-processing

If it wasn't for Oz translating everything she says into a less grand, more common (and understandable) form of language, then communication would have been more difficult

At least, she appreciates your efforts to converse with her, despite the... difference of style between you both
