Fuck it. Double-Nana away!
Two years?! I’m in!
Saw The Dark Crystal in theaters tonight for the 40th anniversary. I can easily say without a doubt in my mind that if I had been a movie-goer in the 80s when it came out I would still love it just as much as I do now.
Seeing it in theaters was just so fucking COOL! And there were a decent amount of people there as well (about twenty), which made it even better.
If you ever get a chance to see your favorite movies in a theater, do it. You will not regret it; I am legitimately the happiest I've been in a while. The amount of euphoria I felt throughout the showing is something that everybody deserves to experience.
Not the greatest thing in the world but I’m steadily getting better with digital drawing. Here’s a small thing I did for The Dark Crystal, showcasing the Skeksis’ morning ritual where the nasty vulture-lizards rejuvenate themselves so they can continue to talk smack to each other.
This is just the plot to Rampage: Total Destruction.
what if there was a beverage... that gave you the energy of a monster... i shudder to think such a product could ever hit store shelves
Not sure if this counts but here you go
Appreciation post for the Gelflings and their reactions. Please add your own screenshots to this thread. I am so highly amused. LOOK AT THEM. I can't even.
My brain cells coming together to finally write something
Random Dark Crystal shower thought:
We’re all automatically assuming that if AOR were to continue, then the series would end after Jen and Kira are found by their adoptive families (i.e., the Mystics and the podlings)
But what if it doesn’t? Like, would they still show gelflings fighting Garthim and getting drained even after Jen and Kira are safely hidden away?
Y’know, just an idea....
Tumblr is such a weird mish-mash of intelligent beings and insane creatures that it's the only place where I can say something like "The Cask of Amontillado was the first instance of a Prank Gone Wrong concept" and everyone would understand what I'm trying to say.
I don’t know what the hell happened but I was just in the car listening to YMCA and then all of a sudden I looked out the window and started having an existential crisis. So, uh, I totally understand why Garfield hates Mondays now.
Recently watched Eyes Without a Face for the first time, and holy shit, I love this film. Definitely on my Top 10 for best horror movies. I really like how suspenseful this film can get at certain points. And the music is killer too.
God damn it who's cutting the onions?
tw: tokophobia / tocophobia
Interrupting your regularly-scheduled Star Wars posts to give you a The Dark Crystal post.
I showed a preview of this to some of my friends and one of them described me as a “horocrux who feeds of other’s suffering,” which i think was a compliment. I guess I just like sad-posting.
After TDCAOR was cancelled, I assume it will be a few years before we get some kind of spin off explaining what happens to our beloved Gelfling protagonists. This was an idea of mine for how the story may end. I personally believe that Deet and Rian are Jen’s parents, and the reason Jen was able to fix the Crystal was that he inherited his mother’s ability to banish the Darkening.
I have no idea what I'm doing. Enjoy my strangeness.
