Is there a specific Peter/Tony overprotective moment that warms your heart the most?
YES!
All of Infinity War.
He was so overprotective with him in this. Always standing between him and other people, standing close by, standing in front of him. Never taking his eyes off of him, getting defensive all the time for him, not minding the close contact at all (probably because he needed it too)
never taking his eyes off of him…
YEESSSS!! 😩😩
And then you’re so excited about all your new ideas but you’re also so frustrated!! ☹️
What they don't tell you about writing is that as you write, you discover scenes and entire plots that you hadn't accounted for that need to be written. So you can spend two hours writing and editing only to realise you're further away from the finish line than you thought you were when you started
Love this 😍😂

“Morning.”
Tony looks up from his coffee, giving Peter a smile as he shuffles into the kitchen. “Morning, Underoos. Sleep okay?”
Peter wiggles his hand in a so-so gesture as he slips into a seat at the counter. “Managed a few hours.”
Tony nods, grateful for the honesty in a way that he knows Peter can sense. “Dreams again?”
“Not really,” Peter shrugs his shoulders, “just…couldn’t sleep.”
It’s hardly the worst thing in the world. There’s plenty of reasons why it can happen; something as simple as napping too long in the day or worrying about something that will ultimately be alright in the end.
But this isn’t like that.
Tony knows what it’s like to be haunted, to be stretched so far between the space of restless and exhausted, and he can see the same stains of it all over Peter’s face, the way it presses into his shoulders and knots his posture.
It’s inconsistent. Sometimes a light shines through the darkness; a smile here, a real laugh there, a sassy remark that has Tony raising his eyebrows and chuckling in relief to hear it.
And then sometimes, like today, the darkness surrounds Peter like trick glass, trying to taint him a shade of convincing that doesn’t quite fool Tony’s gaze.
Peter meets his eyes as Tony goes for another sip of coffee.
“It’s…uh, it’s the first of December today.”
Tony stills for a second, just enough for his coffee to gently splash against his lips and trickle into his goatee.
The first of December.
How could he not have noticed? How did he not realise it was approaching? He’d just last week gone over a ridiculous amount of dates with Pepper for meetings, conventions and galas that he would in no way be attending, and somehow this had completely slipped his attention.
The first of December means that it’s been four months since Peter moved in.
Four months since May collapsed in the middle of the tinned food aisle at the grocery store.

Peter Parker: -on meeting Loki, offers his hand- Hi, I’m Peter!
Loki: -shakes his hand- Loki of Asgard.
Peter: Aren’t you like…a bad guy?
Loki: It varies from moment to moment.
Peter: So like…on a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst evil imaginable, like…killing puppies, and one being I’ll spit on your hotdog…where are you right now?
Loki: …maybe a three?
Peter: Cool. Lemme know if it gets above a six.
Loki: -thinking- I like him.
Words cannot describe how I feel about this (and how true this is) 😍😩😍
Bucky really went from a cranky scowling old man who never smiles to that Cool (gay) uncle who pulls up 2 hours late to the family cookout with sunglasses, cake and level 100 swagger
Now that's character development
No idea where porn got the idea that men snorting and grunting like dying wild boars in quicksand during sex is hot, give me a guy who whimpers. Let a guy quiver and moan helplessly in my arms and watch me become consumed with lust for him. Last time I was I was in bed with a man and I got it just right, he made this high-pitched sort of sobbing moan and had the nerve to apologize for it like he was embarrassed and there I was so turned on I couldn’t even tell him how much. The idea that male posturing must be maintained even while drowning in pleasure is so fucking stupid, I want to hear all those little sounds that are both super hot and telling me I’m doing something right for someone I really want to make feel good.
I‘m crying about this
i feel cheated with that ending and with the movie in general. They didn't show tony's grief for peter at all! they made him move on and they only put that one scene we already saw on the spot. i'm so mad with the writers for this!
Hi!
I’m going to respond only on this ask because I’m guessing you’re the same anon because the other asks say the same thing.
First of all, I want to say this: I feel you. I really do. I’m mad too. However, I’ve watched this movie too many times and I managed to pick up on some things about Tony’s grief throughout Endgame. While I agree they should’ve put more of Tony’s grief on Endgame, I think RDJ made a great job at showing Tony’s emotions regarding Peter. This man is so talented with his eyes and expressions, it’s incredible.
Let’s look at Tony’s fears first. This is the man that constantly feared for Peter’s life on a daily basis since meeting him. He lived with this fear of losing him for two years of his life.
And his fears became a reality in IW. He lost. This is Tony Stark, he doesn’t give up. He tries and tries and he never rests until he gets things done. Until everything is alright. In this movie, he actually gives up. After losing Peter, he finally gave up. This is where the “Peter’s death is going to change him forever” comes to play. He changed.
Throughout IW, Tony went fear after fear, impact after impact on each scene. He was living a never-ending nightmare. One that he already had an idea on how it was going to end.
Remember this scene? Strange told Tony that If it comes to saving him or the kid or the Time Stone, he wasn’t going to hesitate to let either of them die. And this is Tony’s reaction:
(YES, I actually made gifs for this)
He knows what’s at stake. He doesn’t really care about his life, he’s thinking about Peter here. He’s aware that Peter might die and right after this, he makes the kid an avenger because what else can he do? And the rest of the movie is just like that. Him fearing for Peter’s life over and over again.
Until Peter actually dies at the end and his worst nightmare comes true. Keep in mind that this is the first time we see Tony Stark cry. This is the first time this man cries after all the things he’s been through.
Now, the first thing he says after he comes back is “I lost the kid”. Tony, again, didn’t care about his well-being, he was thinking about Peter. Thinking and repeating in his head the horrific nightmare over and over again. This is exactly what was on his mind the whole time he was on that ship. He desperately looks at Steve, trying to make him understand his loss.
Notice here how he avoids looking at Peter’s picture. This right here is what triggers him to lash out on Steve, to call Steve a liar, telling him he needed him and that he doesn’t have any options for him anymore because they lost. Because he lost. Because he feels like there’s nothing left to do.
He then marries Pepper and ta-da! Morgan. He cuts ties with the Avengers for 5 years and tries to live his life as peaceful as he can. Then Scott and the others come to his house and ask him for help with time travel stuff and Tony is in perpetual denial the whole time. This is his reaction when Natasha says there’s a possibility to bring everyone back.
What is interesting for me in this scene is that Tony is the one that told Steve that he lost Peter and in this part, he’s telling him that he’s got his second chance right here (Morgan), who do you think it was his first chance? Peter. He’s looking at Steve like he’s trying to make him understand. He told Steve he lost someone with as much importance as Morgan already and is very clear that he’s scared. Natasha said it herself.
Then this happens:
He starts getting hope. Since this part, he starts letting that same fear he felt those two years between hoco and iw come back. This is his reaction at the prospect of actually getting an opportunity once again.
Then he tells Pepper about it and she tells him they were really lucky and that not many people got that opportunity and he says this: “I can’t help everyone” which can easily translate to this = “I couldn’t help him, I failed him”.
He then tells Pepper that he can stop it right there and I just want to say, this is Pepper, the same woman who tried to make him give up the suits and the superhero life a bunch of times. This is coming from her: “But would you be able to rest?” I bet he hasn’t really slept much in those 5 years. And the answer is on his face:
No, he won’t be able to rest. He can’t.
And then throughout the whole process of time travel, you can see he’s starting to get his hopes up. This is him when Clint confirmed that time travel worked:
And this: This breaks my heart. This hopeful smile.
This is him when he managed to get the stones on his gauntlet. The relief on his face is heartbreaking. He is getting his boy back. Finally. They’re so close.
This part is very important and you might not see it well in here but maybe when the HD version is available you might be able to catch on his expression. When Thanos says he’s going to create a new world, one teeming with life that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given. A grateful universe. The contempt, the rage, the grief, and the fear are back at full force. This is the alien that killed his kid, the last time Tony saw him Thanos wiped out his kid out of existence.
Then after EVERYTHING, he finally gets his kid back and he can’t even believe it. And no, it was not necessary to kill him but this is the face of a man that knows he can finally rest. He got Peter back and that was the most important thing to him.
Sorry, this was long but this is my interpretation of Tony’s grief. We didn’t get much but he loves Peter and that never is going to change.
Please watch this video if your sad.
(No kitties were hurt.)
Peter Parker really went from a “don’t tell me what to do” 15 year old
To a “please, for the love of god, tell me what to do” 17 year old.
accurate representation of the teen to young adult transition
Idk if this was made already (apologies if so) but I noticed Jensen has a peculiar way of unconsciously allowing himself to let on public displays of affection towards other men - in this case, Misha. And this impacts his performance as Dean.
Things we know for sure:
Jensen seems to always end up close to Misha, and one way or another finds himself touching Misha (more than he does other people he works with)
Misha is soft and tender towards Jensen (even if he tries to bro-slap Jen, it comes out as a lingering caress)
Jensen believes in a solid traditional concept of masculinity (perceptible by some comments like “real men do this/have this”, etc..)
I don’t intend to psychoanalyze Jensen or judge him for some of his core beliefs. I do think, however, that all metas in this world are not enough to fully understand Dean and Cas relationship if we don’t consider the dynamics between the actors who play them. In order to understand why Dean acts the way he does in certain situations, we can’t ignore Jensen’s personality, and his relationship with Misha. I’ve found some of the bro-slaps and rough manhandling a bit inappropriate for some of the emotionally charged scenes, and now I’m pretty sure they weren’t scripted at all. I always thought this was Jensen’s way of bro-ing up Dean and Cas’ relationship but I wasn’t aware how much of it was not deliberate/intentional.
Women are raised to be (more) at ease in what concerns developing intimacy with same gender friends. They’re not scolded or marginalized by saying “I love you’s” and openly showing affection towards one another. Masculinity, on the other hand, traditionally establishes itself by the rejection of all traits associated with the feminine. An anti-femininity, if you will. Femininity - traditionally - includes not only intimacy with other women but liking men. Involves allowing them to touch you in intimate ways (I know it sounds like a bunch of crap in 2017, but gender norms have been shaped and defined by these principles for centuries).
There’s a part of born-and-raised-in-Texas-Jensen that rejects the idea of having intimacy with other men. His knee-jerk reaction is “hell, nah, I gotta go”. It’s not even about sexuality, it’s about his idea of manhood, and gender boundaries. Here lies, I believe, the reason why we don’t see Dean being as physically affectionate towards Cas as it would seem natural in their story. Jensen sees Dean as the manliest man there is, in some ways he even admires and looks up to him - as a reference. What Jensen - thinks he - has control over, is the definition of said boundaries: Cas is Dean’s bro. He runs with this even though he knows it’s more complex than that. What Jensen can’t see, is how that mask - the boundaries, the effort, the whole thing - goes up in flames with a single off camera (and set) interaction with Misha.
Most men are raised to only seek intimacy with women, and they crave it with other men, with their friends. Once they feel their manhood is no longer being questioned all the time, once they settle down in a het relationship, have a bunch of kids and their social status is unquestionably secure, they start to allow themselves to experience small portions of intimacy with other men. And I mean, closeness, tenderness, gentleness in the touch. Allowing themselves to feel and be felt by their friend without having to school their facial expression, or recoil from their touch wondering what it looks like from the outside - without worrying about what people will think.
We sure enjoy the show he and Misha put up on every Cockles panel. The innuendos are fun, messy and liberating, but Jensen has shown, more often than not, to actually be drawn to Misha. His body language indicates he gravitates to Misha whenever he can, even if so ever slightly, he will turn towards Misha, look him in the eye, study his reaction after every comment, every remark. There are countless posts on here pointing out just how differently Jensen carries himself around Misha vs everyone else on the set. We can see it. What we don’t always see, so well, is Jensen’s inner struggle to reestablish boundaries with someone who keeps making him tearing them down - Misha. What I’m getting at is that, something as impersonal as a shoulder-slap is charged with meaning coming from Jensen. Dean doing it towards Cas, shows this is Jensen’s definition of love between men, of affection - matter of fact, as affectionate as he can bring himself to be in public. It says “I love him, and were he a she, I would kiss him on the cheek”.
We can’t fully understand Destiel and the feelings involved without looking into certain attitudes the actors (let) bleed out to the characters. The same way, some of the the teasing and - downright - filthy looks Dean gives Cas, actually result of Jensen teasing Misha during shooting. When Jensen allies with Jared and tries to make Misha break character by flirting with him, making R rated comments, sexual innuendos, etc… Which, by the way, is what I call - flirting. One thing is to shove a broom or whatever between Misha’s legs to make him break character like Jared is fond of, another entirely different is to sexually tease and frustrate Misha. Jensen knows the power (and I had to make an effort to not type “influence”) he has over Misha, and he likes it enough to keep using it. The real question is how much he gets off on this bizarre dynamic.
We should discuss more often about how when it comes to Dean and Cas, the writers do not script what we love to gif over here: the longing looks, the sexy tease, the checking out mode… Whereas, the distance between them is planed and set by marks on the floor to fit the camera angles, the mannerisms, facial expressions and looks are mostly Jensen and Misha.
What I find intriguing about the bro-slap is how it contrasts immensely with Jensen’s body language towards Misha. He wants to touch Misha. Whether in unscripted scenes or off camera, Jensen wants to touch him. No one is making him reach out to touch him every chance he gets, be it a shoulder/back/chest slap, a hand on his shoulder or back, putting his arm around him, or rubbing shoulders… it is obvious that Jensen craves that touch, that intimacy, even if (and probably, I’d say) he doesn’t realize it. So his brain offers him a way out, a coping mechanism to touch Misha in a way he’s comfortable with, he can touch him all he wants as long as he’s rough and manhandles him. Mainly when he’s hyper aware of thousands or even millions of eyes on them. I don’t believe for a minute Dean would bro-slap Cas in private, not at this stage, not with their story, I do believe those scenes are Jensen giving himself permission to have some men-on-men intimacy. Oddly enough, for such a careful actor, Jensen, sure knows how to school his body movements in public but can’t seem to be able to exercise control over his facial expressions, eyes, or his unruly eagerness when interacting with Misha.
