Wally: Wow, T-bird is amazing! So smart and hardworking. Funny too.
Dick: So you won’t make him the favorite, right?
Wally: *side-eye monkey meme*
Dick: *panik* So you won’t make him the favorite, right?
Can you believe Dazatsu Month starts tomorrow?😱 How are you sorted?
Concept: Atsushi and Kouyou have more in common that Kouyou and Kyouka.
Kyouka’s not a flower born into darkness. She had parents who loved and cared for her until they died to save her. She wasn’t even in the Port Mafia for that long. She was born into the light and then dragged into darkness and despair.
You know who was born into darkness? Atsushi.
The headmaster said what he did to Atsushi compared to what his parents did to him as a baby doesn’t even count as abuse. Atsushi was thrown out, literally and probably never received genuine kindness in his life until meeting Agency.
Atsushi’s living proof that those who were born into darkness can thrive in life.
Hell when Dazai’s telling Kyouka that the shit you do in the past doesn’t determine who you are now. The person he uses as an example to that is Atsushi.
There’s some bizarre kind of understanding between Atsushi and Kouyou at the end of that episode (season 2 episode 5) and I love it.
Kouyou is convinced that Kyouka is her mirror image. I get that with their abilities and circumstances. But Kouyou might have more in common with the one she was trying to keep Kyouka away from.
The same person she trusts to keep Kyouka safe.
And if this concept is interesting to anyone I did write a thing about it a while back. It’s To be burned in light is a oneshot where Atsushi promises Kouyou that the light won’t burn Kyouka.
Because it burned him too, and he won’t let the same happen to Kyouka. And just the two of them realising their more alike then they’d believe.
Hi,
I was thinking about the Horcrux hunt, and I had this thought, this is a headcannon but I had to share it, there is a small parallel between the argument of Ron and Harry to that of Aberforth and Albus. Dumbledore said to Harry that "reality returned in the form of my rough, unlettered and infinitely more admirable brother", and Aberforth shouted truths that he was not willing to hear. Something similar happens with Harry and Ron, in a way Ron was shouting the truth that Harry had no plan and he had no idea what he was doing, and Harry got angry, in a way he did not want to hear that. This is just a little thought I had, I would like your thoughts on this.
Hellooo! Sorry it took so long to answer you, I had to make a deep dive into my blog to find a related post (from @aliferousdreamer)and I didn't get the bright idea to search my "albus dumbledore" tag until like five seconds ago.
The thing is, Albus does think Aberforth was wiser than him on this one, but he still looks down on him (he feels the need to still point out that he's "rough, unlettered" even though he admits later that Aberforth was right).
Albus has a love-hate relationship with his brother. He simultaneously admires him for his devotion to Ariana, and hate him for having had the strength of character to choose Ariana over everything else unlike Albus himself. Though it's probable that Albus suffered from caregiver burnout; there's a reason why there's special training to become a full-time caregiver, and why it's also an actual job. You can be the most devoted, most loving family-oriented person ever and still end up with caregiver burnout simply because it's incredibly demanding.
... I do believe Dumbledore might have some of that subtle disdain towards Ron because Ron would remind him of Aberforth. Ron has that dream of being recognized above his brothers which Albus can 100% vibe with, but then he... doesn't try to pursue his ambitions and instead takes Harry and Hermione under his wing, accepting to be confined to the shadows instead? It's Aberforth all over again and it's kind of a sore point for Albus.

idk if this is a young fan thing or new fandom culture but some of yall think fics are abandoned way too quickly. a few months or a year or two is not unusual to go without a fic update. sometimes fics take longer to write, other times writers have rl events, or maybe there's multiple fics and one gets more priority. there are tons of reasons for fics not to be updated every week or every month. it also isn't uncommon for people to come back and update fics after a number of years—ive read updates that took five, or ten years. people's lives change, but they still want to tell their stories. personally, i never consider a fic abandoned unless the author has said so; though if it's been a few years i manage my expectations. but a last update being a year ago is... generally not a sign that a writer has abandoned their fic
Suddenly the sound detector picked up on a low frequency. Jamie’s eyes widened. Something was coming directly towards him – and coming fast. “Oh gods, oh gods, uh.” Jamie’s hands fluttered in the air. He wasn’t wearing Frostbiter’s bracelet. He didn’t know whether to reach for his camera, or grab his gear and bolt, or lie down and give up, and his window of opportunity was closing by the second. The entity decided for him, picking up speed as it barrelled straight at him. Camera it was then. If he was going to die, then he would die vindicated.
Carny voice: Get ya OTNWAS Spinoff Ghost-Hunter Jamie one-shot here! We got ya ghost hunting shenanigans, we got ya 18 year old Jamie being a badass, we got ya healthy dose of Hijack. We even got a Percy Jackson-esque fight! But most importantly, we have a story about two big brothers and their little light.
This fic started off jokey-jokey but quickly ran away from me and got really sentimental. And long. I’m happy with how it turned out! I highly recommend that you read OTNWAS ahead of this, but it should be accessible to new readers too! Thank you to @jjackfrost for writing the OG parent fic, beta-ing, and helping patching up that massive plot hole! And a huge thank you to @destinyisagift for your incredible design and headcanons for Jamie’s “Frosbiter” sword!
I posted it up on Ao3— ((there’s now a fic I wrote on my account??))— which I linked in the title or you can click over here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40207104
Have fun!
How does one link? Asking for a fiend. Ao3 @JonoDragonPrimeCan I do an ask blog? Hmmm...
