The maze (het doolhof)

Every time I think I have to leave the maze The corridors are blocked As if I can't get out Stay trapped between the trees

Climb the mountain of difficulties And try to overcome the obstacles Help from an unexpected corner Was an obstacle later on trial

All those uncertainties make me crazy Why does a maze have so many corridors? I look in all directions but see no way out Lost, I stay behind

Broken like glass of a mirror

Resurrected from an old story Everything floated up again Everything that was hidden for a while Emerges like a fierce wind

The heavy waves of the sea What you tried to get through effortlessly With a lack of confidence in yourself You fell prey to a tiger

Everything destroyed as expected You were silenced Vanishing in a swamp As if you never existed

Het doolhof

Iedere keer ik denk het doolhof te verlaten Worden de gangen geblokkeerd Alsof ik er niet uit mag komen Gevangen blijven tussen de bomen De berg van moeilijkheden beklimmen En de hindernissen proberen te overwinnen Hulp uit een onverwachte hoek Was later een hindernis op proef Al die onzekerheden maken mij gek Waarom heeft een doolhof zoveel gangen Ik kijk alle kanten op maar zie geen uitweg Verdwaald blijf ik achter

Gebroken als glas van een spiegel

Herrezen uit een oud verhaal Kwam alles weer boven drijven Alles wat voor een tijd verborgen was Komt als een woeste wind tevoorschijn De zware golven van de zee Waar je moeiteloos door probeerde te komen Met gebrek aan vertrouwen in jezelf Viel je ten prooi van een tijger Alles verwoest zoals verwacht Werd jou het zwijgen opgelegd Verdwijnend in een moeras Alsof je nooit bestaan hebt

Jou stilte

Door de stilte van alle dag Hoor ik de woorden die je mij wou zeggen Ze klonken zo kortbij Maar zijn zo ver weg De vreugde die je voelde Was zo aangenaam en fris Dat je het wou delen Op je eigen manier Door alle moed die je verloor Deed ik mijn best je te begrijpen De stilte van jou Verteld zoveel meer dan woorden

Je vertelde mij zo’n mooie dingen Meende je echt wat je zei Of waren het gewoon lege woorden Woorden die ik zou willen horen

Woorden die je ter plekken verzon Of woorden die je precies hebt uitgezocht Ze klonken zo mooi in mijn oren En ik wil ze heel graag geloven Nu we zo ver zijn van elkaar Stel ik mij de vraag Meende je echt wat je zei Of was het dat wat ik graag wou horen
