I just returned from the most awesomest hangout ever and we did superlatives and I won funniest (somehow??) and got runner up for best smile and we did karaoke and it was so much fun and my and my best friend did if I loved you from npmd and I butchered it because I'm sick but that's okay because everyone is super cool and supportive and then I sang what do you want Paul from tgwdlm and I ate down on that one and my friends are all so talented and everything was so awesome knock on wood

I've been planning this illustration for over a month now - in April, I had the patreon folks vote on a theme for a big gravity falls print, and camping was the winner. Even just planning the general composition took a while, figuring out where I wanted all the characters to be. Once I shored up a good thumbnail, I made it tighter twice before putting it on paper, and working in pencil. The pencil drawing part took me four sit down sessions of drawing, and then coloring the scan took another couple of days. I worked SO DANG HARD to finish this monster before mc3, and by some miracle, I did.

Overall, I'm really happy with how this illustration turned out! I feel like it does a good job of expressing my love for the show. I'm really glad people were enthusiastic about it at the convention - I had a lot stop and look at it with these really awestruck, sad wet goo goo eyes expressions LOL! They did this: 🥺 with an actual human face dskjhlsdfkjh!!

I love that Gideon deciding he needed the shack was the turning point in the series kind of. If Gideon had done any other way with his revenge, Stan would've never gotten journal 2 and maybe dipper would've even held off journal 3. Going back further, Gideon wouldn't have felt the need to summon Bill if he didn't want the code to the safe and the deed to the shack.

So I was talking with my friends and we're talking about screen time for some reason so I show them my whopping 18 hours from that road trip (the rest of the week was <4 hr each day btw) and this kid chimes in with "you should really get your screen time under control"

I say "usually my screen time is much lower, I was just in a car for 24 hours straight."

He says "well yea but you should still get it under control"

I say once again "right but I was in that car for a full day with little else to do"

And he says once again "yea but you should still get that under control"

At that point it's becoming a back and forth that'll never end so I ignore him but like dude

I hate how people will look at popular indie artists who had one or two songs go viral on TikTok and start making fun of anybody who listens to them. Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel

EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
