14/09/2018 - 3/100 days of productivity

No pictures today - sorry! I’m a bit rushed but I thought I’d update to prove I can finish what I started hehe

I spent an hour reviewing German vocab I learned last year in my last free period of the day, and I also got all my homework completed in time for the weekend. That included biology and chemistry. I got a lot out of my lessons today - I had my first lesson with a teacher I haven’t had since Year 9 (and I’m in Year 13 now!)

(I’m off to Nottingham tomorrow for a uni open day, so I can’t work)

I hope you’ve all had productive days!

Today was fun! I had a reasonable time doing some electrochemistry in the lab this morning. I then did some painting as a means of procrastinating doing post-lab work this afternoon

27/08/18 My wonderful French teachers always lend me books - this one is Simone de Beauvoir’s “L’invitée”. It doesn’t feel like studying when you’re totally chilled out 😊

Reading is so important and something I think we should all make time for. It’s a shame our high-powered lives don’t allow us much time for this :(

To all exam-takers

Gentle reminder that however much of a shitstorm your exams are, they do not tell you shit about yourself really. All they do is tell you how good you were at conforming to a mark scheme on that particular day. 0% doesn’t mean someone is stupid and 100% doesn’t necessarily mean someone is smart.

Of course try your best and revise and do what you can to maximise your success. But if it doesn’t go your way, know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and as long as you end up doing what you want to do, nobody gives a fuck if you don’t get straight A’s or whatever ❤️

20/01/2019

So I bought myself an iPad to save my back because I carry about far too many notebooks but I still like writing my notes. I’m also saving paper haha

I’m still getting to grips with this but I really love it so far!

Sorry for the inactivity - I just needed to take some time off. But I’m back now! I’ve got my mock results back and I’m very happy with them :)

Thank you for 500 followers!

So sorry I have not been active recently - the workload is picking up and so are my stress levels. I’m trying not to overdo it at the minute - for my own sanity.

BUT - exciting news!

I got my first uni offer!

The University of York want me to get AAB in Chemistry, Biology and Maths to go and do an MChem with my fourth year abroad.

So that’s the big news in my life recently - I’m buzzing!

Half term is approaching and I have already done the majority of the homework I’ve been set so I can chill. I am reading chapter 3 of “Genes” and have ordered a copy of “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” by Sean B Carroll because evo devo is fascinating :)

It’s time to restock I think - I’m due to get new whiteboard pens (I go through A LOT of those!) and some Pentel Energel 0.5 pens through because I love them and they ran out since I used them so much :(

Anyway, I’m continuing to love all my lessons and am trying to find time to make progress with Le Père Goriot, but I also have to analyse Der Vorleser and continue with pure maths, stats and mechanics.

I hope you’re having a great week! Mine’s not been amazing so far (I missed the bus yesterday and everything that could go wrong did) but I’m positive it will look up :)

8/2/19 Chemistry :D

8/2/19 Chemistry :D

I hate surprise tests but I know I need to start revising now so that’s what I’ve been doing all evening. Now I’m done I can finally sit down with the book I’ve been wanting to read all day!

I love that feeling of being so absorbed in a book you don’t want to ever put it down. I’ve finally found pleasure in reading again - something I lost when I found out aphantasia wasn’t something anyone else I knew had. I just read because I love words and can feel their nuances rather than see them in action in my head :)

Have a lovely evening!

Thank you for 2000 followers! I love you all!

First day back at sixth form and first day of a new productivity challenge! I will honestly try to suck less at posting every day this time hehe

Because I have 4 free hours on a Monday before my first out of two lessons at 2pm, I got a lot done. I started out with some maths, but then my computer logged me off my digital books and it wouldn’t load again, so I ended up writing up some biology notes and then doing some chemistry - that’s what you can see here :)

Although I am full of cold, it has been a good day all round! I found out I got an A* in my bio mock when I thought I actually flunked that test so hard.

We have this twisted idea that we have to achieve everything and then plateau before middle age hits. In reality, all the years you have on this planet are worthwhile and full of growth, not just the first half that are painted with this glorified ideal of “youth”

People starting new hobbies later in life are awesome. Like after all of these years, they’re still going out there and exploring new things instead of remaining stagnant.
