ES || Hace un tiempo descubrí las palomas frutales… y me enamoré al instante de estos seres tan hermosos y coloridos que hay en el mundo. No sabia que habían pájaros con tantos colores ni con tantas combinaciones diferentes… Son increíbles!! Aunque no tengo la costumbre de tener un cuaderno de bocetos, cuando los descubrí, no pude resistirme a hacer pequeños bocetos rápidos y intentar plasmar sus colores brillantes y caras monísimas! ¡Estas criaturas son increíblemente hermosas! Ojalá algún día en lugar de verlos en imágenes pueda verlos en su hábitat natural. Mientras tanto, los seguiré investigando y dibujando en mis tiempos libres. 💚 EN || Some time ago I discovered fruit doves and I went down to a rabbit hole searching all the beautiful and colorful fruit doves there are in the world. There’re so many of them!!! Although I'm not in the habit of having a sketchbook I couldn't resist doing quick small sketches and drawing their bright colors and cute faces!! These creatures are so incredibly beautiful! I wish some day instead of seeing them in pictures I can see them on their natural habitat. 💚

Soon it'll be Halloween and thousands of candy and sweets will be eaten! I really enjoyed inventing packagings and candy flavors for this illustration, although I've a secret to tell you: I don't like candy at all!

ESP || Aunque hace años que hice esta ilustración, sigue siendo una de mis ilustraciones preferidas, si no la que más. Es una ilustración muy sentimental, que siempre llevaré en el corazón, ya que es un retrato de un animalito con el que conviví varios años, una dragoncita con la cola cortada que nadie quería, además justamente hice esta ilustración justo después de que mi querido dragón “pasara a otra vida”. Este mes hace años que nos abandonó así que no hay mejor momento para recordarla! Seguro que habría sido muy feliz en una selva salvaje como ésta! ♥️🌻 ENG || Although I made this illustration years ago, it's still one of my favorite illustrations, if not the most. It's a very sentimental and emotional illustration, one which I will always carry in my heart, since it's a portrait of a little animal with whom I lived together for several years, a little dragon with a severed tail that nobody wanted, and furthermore I made this illustration right after my dear dragon "Pass to another life." This month it's the anniversary of her passing so there's no better time to remember her! Surely she would have been very happy in a lovely and wild jungle like this!♥️🌻

SAVE THE BEES (2019)

Bees and other insects are among the main responsible for the pollination, a vital function for biodiversity and for our food (75% of the food we consume depends on pollination) and yet they are disappearing. 40% of invertebrate pollinators, in particular bees and butterflies, face extinction. An example is a North American native bumblebee, the Bombus affinis, which since the late 1990s has reduced its population by 87%. This dangerous and sad decline is due to several causes such as the loss and deterioration of their habitats, parasites and diseases, invasive plant and animal species, the impacts of climate change and the practices of industrialized agriculture, among which the use of pesticides stands out. Let's change our consumption habits! Together we must protect the world and save the bees!🐝

Las abejas entre otros insectos son unas de las principales encargadas de la polinización de las flores, una función vital para la biodiversidad terrestre y para nuestra alimentación, ya que un 75% de los alimentos que consumimos dependen de ello, y sin embargo están desapareciendo. Un 40% de los polinizadores invertebrados, en particular abejas y mariposas, se enfrentan a la extinción. Un ejemplo es el abejorro, nativo de Norteamerica, Bombus affinis que desde finales de los años 90 hasta ahora, ha reducido su población un 87%. Este peligroso y triste declive se debe a varias causas como la pérdida y deterioro de sus hábitats, las prácticas de la agricultura industrializada, como los monocultivos y el uso de plaguicidas, los parásitos y enfermedades, las especies vegetales y animales invasoras y los impactos del cambio climático. ES|| He hecho una nueva versión del caracolito enamorado. Hace muchísimo tiempo que tenia el esbozo y el apunte de color hecho en procreate y también realice una versión de la misma ilustración en formato vertical para la exposición de postales de @gallerynucleus . Además tengo pendiente una nueva versión donde quiero experimentar con mucho más gouache y menos acuarela! 🐌 En las imágenes podéis ver el resultado final, el primer paso con solo una capa de acuarela y gouache para el azul del fondo, y el esbozo. Por cierto recordad que si queréis tener o regalar una de las postales de la exposición aun las tenéis disponibles en la tienda online de la galería! EN|| I’ve made a new version of the little snail in love. It's been a long time since I had the sketch and the color tests made in procreate and I also made a version of the same illustration in a vertical format for the power in numbers exhibition at @gallerynucleus . I also have a new version pending where I want to experiment more with gouache and use less watercolor!🐌 In the images you can see the final result, the first step with just a layer of watercolor and gouache for the blue in the background, and the sketch. By the way, remember that if you want to have or gift one of the postcards from the exhibition, you still have them available in the gallery's online store!
