ES|| Los tiburones están gravemente amenazados (incluso hay muchas especies en peligro de extinción) esto es debido sobretodo a su pesca indiscriminada para vender sus aletas. Y, aunque parezca mentira Europa contribuye enormemente y es una zona caliente de comercio de aleta de tiburón. Desde 2003 el finning está prohibido en Europa, y desde 2013 se permite pescar algunas especies de tiburones pero sin descartar el cuerpo. Sin embargo, la legislación europea sigue permitiendo el comercio de aletas a granel de especies no protegidas. Cuando se transportan solo las aletas la identificación de la especie es muy difícil, especialmente porque los envíos suelen mezclar diferentes tipos de ellas, lo que da lugar a que se comercie fácilmente con aletas de especies protegidas y de ejemplares capturados de forma ilegal. Los tiburones están en la cúspide de la cadena trófica y juegan un papel fundamental en el equilibrio marino, regulando y equilibrando la vida que hay en ellos y ayudando a preservar sus ecosistemas. Evitar la catástrofe medioambiental que supondría la desaparición de los tiburones pasa por poner freno a este lucrativo negocio. Para ello es necesario que Europa deje de exportar aletas de tiburón y no facilite el comercio a través de su territorio. Solo quedan 4 días para que finalice el termino para firmar la iniciativa ciudadana europea para proponer un cambio legislativo que prohíba el comercio de la aleta de tiburón. 🦈 Corred, animaros a firmar! EN|| Sharks are seriously threatened (there are even many species in danger of extinction) this is mainly due to their indiscriminate fishing to sell their fins. And, oddly enough, Europe contributes enormously and is a hot spot for the shark fin trade. Since 2003 finning has been prohibited in Europe, and since 2013 it has been allowed to fish some species of sharks but without discarding the rest of the body. However, the European legislation continues to allow the trade of fins of non-protected species. When only the fins are transported, the identification of the species is very difficult, especially as shipments often mix different types of fins, leading to easy trade in fins from protected species and illegally caught fins. Sharks are at the top of the food chain and play a fundamental role in the marine balance, regulating and balancing the life in them and helping to preserve their ecosystems. ESP || Segundo experimento de texturas y materiales. Esta oruguilla no me gusta tanto como la ranita, quizás las hojas en acuarelas aguadas me molestan al lado de la oruga ya que esta no destaca tanto, quizás me he pasado mezclando colores o simplemente no estoy acostumbrada a utilizar tantos colores oscuros aunque también podría ser que me lo mire con malos ojos, con esas gafas del perfeccionismo puestas... A vosotros que os parece?

ENG || Second experiment of textures and materials. I don't like this caterpillar as much as the little frog, perhaps the leaves with so much watercolor textures bother me next to the caterpillar since it doesn’t stand out as much as I’d like to, perhaps I’ve mixed to many colors or I’m simply not used to paint with so many dark colors although it could also be that I look at it with bad eyes, with those glasses of perfectionism on... What do you think?

EN|| This year I’ve the pleasure of participating in the collective exhibition “Power in numbers 7” at @gallerynucleus in Alhambra (California, USA) with four original postcards. Here you can see a close up of my favorite postcard “marine wildlife” full of little fish with chubby cheeks and pink lips. I’m a little sad to say goodbye to the piece but I hope it finds a great house where it’s appreciated and loved! If you want to buy it, the exhibition opens on September 3, however you can find more information on the gallery’s website. Not only it’s my favorite illustration (how can it not be… have you seen the little crab’s eyelashes?!) but I’ve also had a great time painting it, I used watercolors, gouache, polychromos and neocolors. ES|| A veces hago retratos de mascotas. Este es un encargo que hice, ya hace un tiempo, para un regalo sorpresa de cumpleaños. El retrato de Bru, un pequeño y adorable podenco que vive en Barcelona y le encanta pasear con su dueña. EN|| Sometimes I do pet portraits. This is a commission I did some time ago for a surprise birthday present, a portrait of Bru a little adorable podenco who lives in Barcelona and loves to walk with his owner. ES || Hoy es mi cumpleaños!! Muchas felicidades a todos los que hacéis los años el mismo día que yo, y a los que no, feliz no cumpleaños! He de decir que a mí me pirra el chocolate negro en todas sus versiones, ya sea en galletas, magdalenas y, por supuesto un buen pastel (siempre con poco azúcar, que no me apasiona el dulce). A mí me dais este pastel sin el frosting y soy más feliz que una perdiz. Aunque ahora mismo yo no puedo comer muchos dulces espero que este ratoncito se pegue un buen festín y sople todas la velas! Sabéis de dónde viene la tradición de soplar las velas? Pues hay varias teorías de su origen pero a mí la que más me gusta es la de antigua Grecia, donde era costumbre llevar al  templo de Artemisa, la diosa de la luna, unas tortas redondas, que simbolizaban el circulo lunar completo, con una vela encendida que representaba el resplandor de la luna. Después esta vela se soplaba para que el humo llevara a los dioses el deseo pedido. Esta tradición de pedir un deseo para celebrar el día que vinimos al mundo me encanta. Espero que todos vuestros deseos, por muy imposibles que parezcan, se cumplan!

EN || Happy birthday to me!! Best wishes to those of you who also celebrate your birthday today, and to those who don't, a very merry unbirthday to you! I love dark chocolate, in all its versions, whether it’s cookies, muffins or of course a good cake (always with less sugar than usual, I’m not really into sweet things). Give me this cake without the frosting and I'm the happiest person in the world. Although right now I can't eat sweets, I hope this little mouse has a good feast and blows out all the candles! Do you know where the tradition of blowing out the candles comes from? Well, there are several theories about its origin, but the one I like the most is the ancient Greece one, where it was a tradition to bring round cakes to the temple of Artemis (the goddess of the moon). That symbolized the complete lunar circle, the cake had a lighted candle that represented the glow of the moon. This candle would later be blown so the smoke would take the person’s wish to the gods. I love this tradition of making a wish to celebrate the day we came into the world. I hope that all your wishes, as impossible they may seem, come true!

CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL (2019)

ESP || Hace un tiempo la ilustradora @emmaillustrate creo la Interesante campaña “ kidlit4climate” para solidarizarse con "climate strike", un movimiento muy necesario para luchar contra las políticas que no tienen en cuenta el medio ambiente. Yo me quise unir aportando mi granito de arena con un universo que tiene claro que el cambio climático es real y pide ayuda para parar la contaminación que generamos de mil maneras diferentes y que está matando el planeta y muchas de las especies que lo habitan. 🌙🌎☀️ ENG || Some time ago the illustrator @emmaillustrate created the absolutely awesome campaign #kidlit4climate to show solidarity with the much needed #climatestrike movement. I wanted to contribute with a universe who has it clear: climate change is real and we need to stop the pollution that we generate in a thousand different ways and that is killing the planet and many of the species that inhabit it. ☀️🌎🌙
