🔴🚨Urgent Assistance Needed Amid Humanitarian Crisis In Gaza

🔴🚨Urgent Assistance Needed Amid Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Recently, I found myself in a very difficult situation. I borrowed a sum of $2800 from a distant friend, but due to the ongoing war in Gaza, I have been unable to repay this amount on time. The situation here is dire, and I am struggling to provide food, water, and basic necessities for my family amidst the catastrophic humanitarian crisis that Gaza is experiencing.

My friend has requested that I repay the money, and I informed him that I will do my best to gather the amount as soon as possible, within a week at most. However, at this moment, I simply do not have the means to fulfill this commitment due to the challenging circumstances we are facing.

I have been sharing our story throughout Gaza for the past two months, hoping to find help in this crisis. We are experiencing severe shortages of basic resources, in addition to the health and humanitarian challenges caused by the ongoing conflict. I cannot overlook the suffering of my brother, Mohammed, who is injured and part of the immense hardship we are enduring.

The sooner your help arrives, the better, as time is running out, and we urgently need your assistance.

May God bless you, and I hope that your compassionate stance will help us overcome this trial.

DEAF AWARENESS

if someone is not responding to you, they may not be just acting rude. They may actually not be able to hear you

when you find out out someone is deaf, please try not to let the first words that come out of your mouth be “I’m sorry.” or “I could never live like that.” Deafness is not some terminal illness that we suffer through everyday.

If you see someone struggling to communicate, please do not make them the center of attention. Trust me. The last thing I want when I can’t understand is someone pointing out that I can’t understand.

if someone is struggling to communicate, and you know sign language, please ASK before you start interpreting. Yes, we appreciate the kind offer, but not everyone is comfortable with some stranger intervening. Also, not all deaf people know sign.

-When you see someone with hearing loss jamming to their music in public, and you can hear it, please do not ask them to turn it down. It’s really ruse, considering it may just be loud enough for them to hear it or feel the vibrations.

NEVER cover your mouth and ask if we can hear/understand you. It’s really insensitive. Most of the time, reading lips is very important for people who are deaf to communicate.

Obviously, never ask how they get and keep their jobs. I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain this one.

Do not, DO NOT, under any circumstances, encourage or promote the use of technical devices such as hearing aids or cochlears to ANY deaf person. Many of us struggled with these devices as children. As we get older, we start to decide for ourselves if we want to use them. I respect people who their devices, but i do not respect hearing people who know nothing about them suggesting them.

do not ask “if you’re deaf, how can you speak so well?” It’s basically the same kind of thing as above. many deaf children are fitted for hearing aids/cochlears and sent to speech therapy the minute their hearing parents find out. Some deaf people can speak, some people can sign and speak, and some can sign. It’s honestly their choice, and sometimes it’s not a choice.

if there’s anything else that you want to know, but just for a slight moment you think “I don’t want to come across as rude,” DO NOT ASK.

Thank you for reading. The Deaf Community would love it if these were actually followed. :)

🚨 We Need Your Kindness to Survive

My name is Inas Imad, from Gaza, and I am 30 year old wife and first time expecting mother living in the most unimaginable and dire circumstances for over a year now. Three years ago I married my best friend and have struggled trying to start a family. Even after this war began, my husband and I did not lose hope in starting our family and we continued in determination to live and to bring new life into this world. I am now currently pregnant with our first child, however due to the consequences of this war, I am faced with a high risk, dangerous pregnancy according to the doctor and I am very afraid that if I do not get get adequate nutrition, the medications, and supplies that I need, I will lose my child. The doctor has ordered medication to be given by injection throughout my pregnancy to help me carry my baby to term, however I do not have the money to purchase the medication and syringes needed, nor do we have the money to purchase adequate nutrition. Life here in Gaza is very difficult and we become more hopeless by the day. My husband and I had just started to build our lives together. We had a nice home where we had planned to start our family, and now we are subjected to living in a tent where there is no bathroom and we spend our nights just trying to get warm. It has been difficult being pregnant and not having a bathroom or even a bed to sleep on, but I want my child more than anything. The only hope we have left is in our baby and I am asking you to stand with us. Please, help us in any way you can to save our child. We feel very alone and abandoned, but we are determined to live and we want to see our child be one of the miracles that comes out of Gaza. Any amount you can donate, no matter how small, means the world to us. We will never forget you standing with us. Please, help me to evacuate from Gaza so that I can see my dream of being a mother and bringing my beautiful baby into this world to make it a better place and helping my husband and I be able to watch our child grow up. We will be forever grateful to you.

Please you are hope for me!

Don't make me lose hope.!

He is my first child.!😭😭😭

How You Can Help:

I’m sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $10 can make a big difference for us, and if you’re unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.!

ethics of making AI images aside, I do find a bit amusing the kinds of sob stories and mental gymnastics people make up to pretend like drawing is this super technical skill with an impossibly high barrier of entry when its like one of the first hobbies toddlers pick up

suddenly a lot of people think they got the next Lord of the Rings in their head but they were never able to turn their stories into anything tangible because the evil elitist artists are hogging all the talent and skill and they need a bajilion years of training or something as if one of the most popular manga and anime of the past decade wasn't made by a guy that draws like this

So Shadow likes watching TV, ey? Hmm... Do you think he'd simply enjoy whatever's on the screen at the time, or do you think he'd be into more specific things? For example, nature documentaries (Anything narrated by David Attenborough) cartoons ( Like Tom and Jerry or Looney Tunes) dramas (Breaking Bad) or period pieces (Wolf Hall)?

I dunno, I think he'd probably just watch whatever. Maybe he'd be more into TCM.

On This Day, 9 December 1842, One Of The Founders Of Contemporary Anarchist Communism, Peter Kropotkin

On this day, 9 December 1842, one of the founders of contemporary anarchist communism, Peter Kropotkin was born. An activist, scientist, and philosopher, he abandoned his aristocratic background in favour of the revolutionary working class struggle. He participated in the 1917 Russian revolution, and wrote numerous influential works, including Mutual Aid: a Factor of Evolution. In this work he criticised interpretations of the ideas of Charles Darwin which focused on competition, and highlighted instances of cooperation in the natural world. “If we … ask Nature: ‘who are the fittest: those who are continually at war with each other, or those who support one another?’ we at once see that those animals which acquire habits of mutual aid are undoubtedly the fittest. They have more chances to survive, and they attain, in their respective classes, the highest development of intelligence and bodily organization.” These ideas continue to be influential today. Evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould wrote of Kropotkin: “I would hold that Kropotkin’s basic argument is correct. Struggle does occur in many modes, and some lead to cooperation among members of a species as the best pathway to advantage for individuals. If Kropotkin overemphasized mutual aid, most Darwinians in Western Europe had exaggerated competition just as strongly. If Kropotkin drew inappropriate hope for social reform from his concept of nature, other Darwinians had erred just as firmly (and for motives that most of us would now decry) in justifying imperial conquest, racism, and oppression of industrial workers as the harsh outcome of natural selection in the competitive mode.” We have made available several of Kropotkin’s works, as well as a brand new beautiful illustrated edition of Mutual Aid in our online store. Hello there! A long time ago on Twitter, I saw a post from you involving potential stories you'd like to do in the future, one of them involving Davy Jones as a bounty hunter. Out of curiosity, does your Davy look anything like the one from the Pirates of the Caribbean films?

Dave Jones! He wasn't a bounty hunter, but he was a ghost (and demons maybe) hunter! I'm honestly not sure if I wanna go forward with making his story into a comic. He MIGHT do better in the form of a video game tbh!

Which is EXTREMELY ambitious to make, yeah, but I gotta go with my gut feeling on this one.

I don't think he looks too much like Davy Jones from POTC? Like, he's got the face tentacles but I'd say that's the only real similarity.

Hello There! A Long Time Ago On Twitter, I Saw A Post From You Involving Potential Stories You'd Like

For reference, here's a sketch I very very quickly did for you for him so you can see for yourself (VERY ROUGH, I DID THIS IN LIKE 5 MINUTES)

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

Doing an experiment: I have made a new nonfandomspecific blog for reblogs and conversations and etc. because I've come to be dissatisfied with my general internet persona being tied to the gimmick of 'LOTR character I didn't realize was quite that unpopular until it was too late'.* This blog will be reserved for its original gimmick from now on (such as: reblogging Grond), unless I give up. if you want the url to my new blog send an ask!

LOTR stuff will all stay here.

*there are things I saw when the game came out that I have never quite forgotten. Don't read YouTube comments
