Could you please give me something like a list of things that need to be determined about a character, more than just age, height, gender and things like that, please i need like a list of as many as possible 💕💕💕 your blog is a miracle

I will try my best. This is a list I usually try to conform to (but I have it stored in my head, rather than as a physical list, so apologies if it doesn’t make much sense
!):

Character motivation. What are they doing? Why are they doing it?

Backstory. What happened before their debut in the story?

Greatest fear. Speaks for itself; what do they fear most?

Relationships with other characters. Who do they like? Who do they not like? Who opposes them? Who helps them? Who are they related to (by blood, or circumstance)?

Main personality traits. Positive ones, and negative ones.

Moral limits. What will they absolutely not do? What would they consider doing to meet their goal?

Attitudes/Opinions. What are the main issues in your story’s world, and what is this character’s opinion on it? How do they behave towards other characters, based on their opinions of them? Who or what do they consider to be below them? What behaviours do they choose to do or not do, which gives them a sense of importance/self-esteem (i.e. being tee-total, going to church every Sunday w/o fail, always adopting pets, rather than buying them, etc)?

Abilities. Either magical, or non-magical depending on your setting. What are they best at? What are they not so good at?

Speaking skills/conventions. How do they sound when they speak? What is their vocabulary like? How do they manage/behave in everyday conversations?

Education. According to your world’s standards, how educated is the character?

Family. How were they brought up? What was their family situation like?

Friendships. Which friendships do they value the most? How many friends do they have? How easily can they make friends?

Sexual/romantic relationships. How many relationships has the character committed to? Can they commit to relationships? How do they behave when in a relationship? How do they feel about other people’s relationships?

Work. What do they think about work? What kind of work would they like to do? What kind of work are they doing? If the character is a student, then consider their work ethic, their favourite subjects, etc.

Sense of self. What is your character’s self-image like? How do they feel about themselves? What do they think about themselves in relation to other people (i.e. how do they compare themselves to somebody else?).

Health. Speaks for itself; what is this character’s health like? In the past, in the present, and in the future?

Housekeeping. How do they live, in an everyday setting? Are they tidy, or messy? What things do they consider to be necessary to a daily routine, and what things do they consistently forget about/deem to be unimportant?

Politics. How they view society, and what should be done in a ‘civil’ society. What they think of their world’s politics. How they might ‘class’ themselves.

Religion. Their views on life, death, and creation. Their understanding of their ‘purpose’, or their beliefs in how everything came to be.

Tastes. In fashion, food, and anything else you might think of.

I hope this helps, Anon! Maybe some of our followers might reblog this and add extra things, or you might think of extra things you can add yourself. Feel free to do so, if this is the case!

From Taiko By Eiji Yoshikawa

From Taiko by Eiji Yoshikawa

This part occured after Nobunaga's death. Hideyoshi and Shibata Katsuie (Nobu's senior retainer and an NPC in SLBP) had a fallout and after many schemes and faction disputes later, they fought in the Battle of Shizugatake in which Katsuie lost. When I read this part, I was awed.

As a player of both IkeSen and slbp, I have seen the loyalty and brotherly love of ikesen!Hide (the "mother hen"of Azuchi lol) and the clever mischief of SLBP!Hide, but this book opened my eyes to this cunning man whose mind is as dangerous as he is kind (and loyal) to his allies. He had no qualms using "borrowed knife" tactics against his enemies: a proof of how scary he is, if his mind is used as a weapon. So unless you are Ieyasu, you'll never see him coming....

I know he is depicted as a clever man in history (...like he coaxes the bird to sing proverb...) but this novel goes beyond my expectations. Not that I dislike him (In fact I respect this man for beating odds to unify Japan), but one can just imagine how the wars shape good men to do what we consider "evil" or "underhanded" means to achieve peace.

(spoilers!) On Kojuro Act 2

I know a lot of friends don’t like Kojuro Act 2 for several reasons such as Koju leaving MC and Hide being evil
and I do not contest that, but personally, I LOVE IT
.EVEN THOUGH Kojuro isn’t my main bias.

Yes, it has a lot of downer scenes that somehow make you like him less, and there are scenes where all you want is to pound your phone with something hard because
uggh!! (Trust me, I almost did.)

But the real strength of the MS is not on the fluffy romance we expect from an otome game
but on Kojuro’s inner conflict and how his subsequent choices affect MC and Date Clan.

Yes
Kojuro Act 2 is more about DRAMA than ROMANCE.

There will be SPOILERS (but not that detailed) here, but think of the Trolley Problem. In essence, Kojuro has to make a choice, both aren’t easy. Sacrifice one he loves to save the clan or stay with his beloved and watch his enemy destroy those he swore to protect. No matter what he does, he has to pay a very huge price. And this is clearly seen on the MS, the agony he felt as he weighed his options, and its serious consequences. Yet he has to make a choice. You can guess what he did, brace yourself and watch your temper, guys. You HAVE to.

Yonezawa retainers wanted blood, and they wanted MC to “pay the price” since Kojuro “become rogue”. I really should give praise to Date Boys. Masamune and Shigezane were really supportive of MC, despite the odds stacked against them. Masa could have rebellion in his hands in the light of Kojuro’s absence but he stick to his own beliefs. It was epic, I tell you. Shigezane even helped MC convince Masa to let her leave and look for Kojuro so that Kojuro can go home, because despite Kojuro’s actions, Shigezane trusted him still.

MC also faces a similar choice: to be with Kojuro and lose her place in Date clan, or stay in Yonezawa without knowing what happens to Kojuro. To leave means to be branded as a traitor and will be killed on sight
and she isn’t even sure if she will have a home or a place to stay where Kojuro is held.

Yet she braved all odds and faced the risks. I applaud this MC. And even though Kojuro brushed her away when they met (he did it to protect her from Hide), she still cling to him even though it hurts. At this point Kojuro is really a piece of—. But we soon see that everytime Kojuro shoved MC away, it was killing him inside because all he want is to see MC safe, yet in the moment of desperation, he failed to see how his actions hurt MC. And because of that, he broke his walls to embrace her once again. Because in the end, he still chose his own heart.

Meanwhile, just as Kojuro faced a difficult obstacle, we see Hideyoshi in a rather different light: the ANTAGONIST. Perhaps one of the reasons why some players liked this MS was that people get to see a new side of him. Yet, I know others HATED Hide in this, and understandibly so
he is no longer the cheeky flirty monkey we once knew and though he smiles
it is void of joy. He is scary, because he is trully a schemer and a master manipulator in this MS, and not even Kojuro saw him coming.

I will not expound here what Hide did to make Kojuro’s life miserable, but anyway, as the chapter progresses, MC began to see that Hide, too, was also suffering from his own hard choices and how he quietly laments that his methods is slowly killing him inside, just like Kojuro. Hideyoshi sacrificed his everything to achieve Divine Rule, even though he loses his own heart. Kojuro sacrificed his own heart to save Date clan, even though he will be seen as a traitor.

For whom does these people fight for? Love or Duty? And what will be the consequence? And what will they give for the sake of their goal?

And these are the questions Kojuro Act 2 is all about. And this is why I love it. And I hope for those who plan to read Koju Act 2
will be able to find the beauty of it as I do.

Hey Lynn, sorry to bother but does anyone know how old the SLBP lords are?

It’s all speculation & pulling clues from routes to try to map out ages. None of their ages are directly stated, I think to make it easier to self insert & play around with the suitors ages to your liking in your imagination.

((None of what is stated below is based on their historical age differences. This is only what I’ve inferred from playing SLBP.))

_____

According to Saizo’s route, MC is at least 20 (or early 20s). She explains an event that happened to her when she was around 5 years old & later in the route it is said that event happened over 15 years ago. Shingen has said in a few event stories that MC & Yukimura are close in age, so she may be closer to mid-20s.

Saizo & Yukimura are 4 years apart; Saizo is 4 years older. They met when Yukimura was 10 & Saizo was 14. In an event story, Yukimura said they have known each other for 16 years. That puts Yukimura at 26yo & Saizo at 30yo.

It is said several times that Masamune & Yukimura are the same age. Masamune is 26yo.

Shigezane is a few months-one year younger than Masamune. Shigezane is 25yo.

Shigezane teased MC in route by saying if Kojuro had been her father, he would have been a teenage dad, implying Kojuro is at least 13 years older than MC. Kojuro is likely in his mid-30s.

I don’t remember if it was an event story or an MS, but I read that Inuchiyo is 6-7 years older than MC (she said she was about 7 when they met, Inuchiyo was around 13), putting him around 26-27 years old.

Mitsunari is said to be younger than MC. He is the only one expressed as being younger than her. This likely puts him at 19 or very early 20s.

In an event story, MC was told it will be good for Ieyasu to have someone his own age around him. He’s the second youngest suitor, in very early 20s most likely.

Shingen & Kenshin are the oldest, but no hints as to a range is given that I recall. I just imagine late 30s for Kenshin, early-mid 40s for Shingen.

All we really know about Mitsuhide is that he’s older than Nobunaga. There was an event story where he was briefly worried about his age, so I assume once these men hit 30 they all start seeing themselves as “old.” My best guess is Mitsuhide is in his late 20s or early 30s, I’m leaning more toward early 30s for him.

Hideyoshi is depicted as being older than Inuchiyo, as for how much, I never read a mention of specifics in the game, but I assume it isn’t more than a year or two at most.

I don’t recall reading any specific hints regarding Nobunaga’s age, but I know he’s younger than Mitsuhide & likely older than Hideyoshi, which probably puts him around 28-29yo.

TL;DR

Mitsunari ~19-20

MC/Ieyasu early 20s

Shigezane 25

Masamune/Yukimura 26

Inuchiyo 26-27

Hideyoshi 27-28

Nobunaga 28-29

Saizo 30

Mitsuhide 31-33

Kojuro 33-35

Kenshin late 30s

Shingen early 40s - ?

This one, @otome-reviews , if Kyo ES had added some suspense elements just like this and IF only the story is focused more on Kyo and Hide side of things. That would have been an exciting read...and the main conflict would have been like: can they trust Hideyoshi if Kyo and MC put themselves on the same camp as him? I bet this was the reason why Kyo wasn't so enthusiastic with Hide's proposal in the first place.

Haha, this is just my speculative--what-if scenario (plus, I saw what "Dark Lord" Hide could do in Kojuro Act 2).

I just re-read Kyoichiro’s ES and his PoV story
but I couldn’t shake the possibility that Hideyoshi might be THE ONE responsible Kyo got “detained” by Nobunaga.

Long Post Below

Do remember that Kyo is really careful with his thief identity (he is a former ninja after all) and the only time Kyo’s identity was suspected by Nobunaga was AFTER Hideyoshi found him on the storehouse (at least in this ES. I still haven’t done his MS, sorry). MC nor Suke wouldn’t dare to let something slip about Kyo’s “other life”, perhaps Hide wouldn’t unless he had a good reason

like using Kyo to ruin those monks to aid Nobunaga. But since the story implied Kyo refused that first offer (when Kyo busted the empty storehouse). Hide might have thought of a way to get Kyo in his plans, like slipping some rumors that Kyoichiro might be Ishikawa Goemon to get Nobunaga to act, thus entrapping Kyo in Kiyosu to make the cotton merchant at severe disadvantage.

“if something should happened outside while you are in here, you will be proven innocent” (-which also means “if nothing happens outside while you are here, you are guilty”-).

Sakuya went to Kyo’s house and saw MC and judging by their conversation, Sakuya didn’t expect MC to be there (or at least didn’t expect that Kyo’s “mistress” was the fugitive Tsuki MC). I was led to think Saku went to Kyo’s house to assassinate MC but I believe it wasn’t the case
So what was Saku doing in Kyo'shouse? Gathering evidence? Maybe. But we do not get to know his REAL reason being there because Hide intervened in an epic fashion.

Hideyoshi is not simple. He plans “two steps ahead” as Kyoichiro would put it. Hide might have “slipped” into Nobunaga about Kyo, he doesn’t want him dead. While Nobunaga was busy with his entrapment scheme, Hide anticipated Nobu’s methods. He prevented Sakuya from killing MC (or rather he stopped him from gathering evidence against Kyo) with his “presence” since Sakuya is supposedly a secret Oda ninja, therefore he can’t act recklessly under Hideyoshi’s watch.

In Kyo’s pov, Hide used his weirdness and fixation to Kyo’s crane to get him to give one to him, not because he want it to be a signal to MC about his predicament in Kiyosu. But in reality, Hide used it as a tool to get MC to act by being the supposed thief and steal something to clear Kyo’s name.

So, Hideyoshi became Kyo’s benefactor and became indebted to him. Because of this, Kyo ruined those corrupt monks which he would otherwise refuse to do under normal circumstances.

Kyo must have got a sense of Hide’s motives as he forged the aliance with him not out of gratitude but only because he “does not want to be on Hideyoshi’s bad side”. And that statement, tells us something just how far and how “deep” HIDEYOSHI would go to achieve his goals.
