This is briliant
A while back I ordered the Critical Role Major Arcana Tarot Set, and like many others thought it would make an excellent Deck of Many Things. The deck of Implausible Fate is my own take on the Deck of Many Things, and while many of the effects are similar, some have been altered/replaced to provide a less game-breaking, but equally thrilling experience for players and DMs alike.
Let me know what you think!
Will use in my champaign
Dwarves: Tremorsense 60ft., lighter darkvision 60ft. (like darkvision but only in dim light).
Rock gnomes: Tremorsense 60ft.
Forest gnomes: Keen hearing.
Half elves: Lighter darkvision 60ft.
Half orcs: Lighter darkvision 60ft. and keem hearing.
Dragonborn: Infravision 60ft. (in dim light and darkness you can distinguish creatures and objects that have cleary another temperature than their surroundings).
Tiefling: Lighter darkvision 60ft., infravision 60ft. (only in darkness).
Elves, halflings and humans stay the same.
What do you think?

This is a little system I use for narrating attacks that miss. There is nothing explicitly stated on how an attack might miss, and it can be a bit confusing to narrate at times, so this is how I match up mechanics and narration of hits.
If an attack roll is:
1 - Attackers hand slips, drops weapon, trips over, etc. Attack is negated and/or the attacker hurts them self. 2-10 - Attack is made, but misses the target 10+ Dex Mod (if not in heavy armor) - the defender dodges out of the way. This can be from a sidestep, duck, etc. 10+ Armor Bonus - the attack connects, but the defenders armor / shield protects them from the blow Each of these thresholds can be explained in a narrative way. 1-10 can be a comical failure, dex can seem like a Matrix Dodge moment, and armor bonus can seem like a very tense crashing of metal.
There are also some edge cases, and while I think there are a lot of ways to go about them, here is how I deal with a couple of them:
Unarmored bonus / natural armor - Blow glances off or hits but is absorbed like metal. The latter is especially cool for Barbarians Magic Bonus to AC - Light shows surrounding the defender and mitigating the blow or deflecting it, think energy shields from movies of Halo Cover - Attacks hit cover, or the smaller target makes it harder to aim and the blow sails just past the target, possibly sending debris or small shards of the cover everywhere Size Bonus - Attack seems like it would normally hit, but the smaller creature has just enough space to manuever around the attack Above AC - Target doesnt get out of the way, hit manages to penetrate armor, scratch them, hit an exposed spot, etc. Temporary HP - Either magic shields target but cracks under force or the blow is taken and felt, but doesnt cut, bruise, etc.
Humblewood is an exciting new Campaign Setting for 5e DND that includes original birdfolk player races, new monsters, magic items, and a compelling adventure for 1st to 5th level characters.
In the world of Everden, nestled between the mighty Crest mountain range and the vast marshes of the Mokk Fields, lies a mystical forest known as Humblewood that hums with the Great Rhythm of nature. It has been ruled for generations by the birdfolk who inhabit the Great Tree-City of Alderheart. Humblewood has endured for centuries thanks to the industry and compassion of its people…
…but now the fires have come, and the Woods have been thrown into chaos. Flames ravage the land and destroy the homes of the humblefolk, stoking a growing resentment against the birdfolk, whose cities have managed to avoid the worst of the fires so far. Hatred burns in the hearts of those who have lost lives they cherished, and these once peaceful peoples now take up the sword and turn to banditry. The disaffected turn their gaze on Alderheart, and threaten to reduce an age of peace to ashes…
…yet there is still hope. Even in these dark times, brave heroes can be found within the Wood. Only they can quell the raging flames that have been unleashed upon the land, and restore balance to the realm. Will you answer the call?
The birdfolk races have ruled over Humblewood from their canopy villages and fortified cities for as long as anyone can remember. Play as one of the five core birdfolk races:
The astute crow-like Corvum who safeguard Humblewood’s knowledge
The dignified fowl-like Gallus who have faith in the power of community
The aloof pidgeon-like Lumas who use their gifts to bring joy into the world
The agile hawk-like Raptors who blaze new trails through the forest
The powerful owl-like Strig who defend what they believe is right
The humblefolk live in small villages throughout the Wood, but are occasionally found in birdfolk cities. Play as one of the five core humblefolk races:
The hearty deer-like Cerva who strive to achieve their goals
The sensitive hedgehog-like Hedges whose empathy lets them see what others cannot
The brave mouse-like Jerbeen who inspire those around them with deeds of heroism
The resourceful raccoon-like Mapach who can craft a solution to any problem
The cunning fox-like Vulpin who are always one step ahead of their foes
Once a loosely organized confederacy of crime, its ranks have swelled with humblefolk displaced by the spreading fires who have turned to banditry to survive. Under the guidance of a new leader, they seek to exact retribution upon the birdfolk cities and sow discord throughout the Wood.
Deep within the murk of the Mokk Fields live several species of this most resilient life-form. Battle your way through caustic slimes whose touch is a deadly acid, sticky slimes that can suck a weapon right out of your hand, and the rare shifting slimes which feed on magical energies to become ever stronger.
Humblewood is home to a variety of beasts whose size, strength, and abilities can only have grown thanks to the Wood’s magic. Face craggy skinned mountain lions whose roar can summon rockslides, hunt the deadly forest prowlers in their woodland lair, and tangle with the giant sea monster (art coming soon!) in a battle on the high sea!
The great calamity which produced the part of Humblewood known as the Scorched Grove also made the area an ideal home for fiery creatures. Withstand the searing heat of an emberbat swarm: a vortex of tiny flying creatures, each one a smouldering ember with wings! Confront the terrifying ashsnake and it’s deadly pyroclastic breath! Legends say there may even be a primal elemental force lurking within the Scorched Grove. Have you the courage to find out?

Kevin had a bad day
So its about a resercher named Jared Thekil whom one day notices bumps on his feet though he dosnt think too much about it until maybe a week or two after it started. The bumps have turned Into giant growths that are getting bigger every day, he goes to a on site mdical doctor and they tell him that its a weird mass of bone, tissue and flesh. After a month or so the lumps start reforming his feet, making them elongated and almost blade like in shape until eventualy bone starts to grow on the bottom of these blades. It cuts to him several months after the first incedent of the lumps, his legs and partialy his legs have turned into roller blades, he's in constant, agonising, pain as he has to roll on his bone blades to move. Eventualy he gives up and desides to operate off the roller blades and gets prostetics. It works for a while but then they grow back, he goes into deppresion and eventualy kills himself. They do autopseys on him trying to figure out what could have caused it but dont find enything. A Week later a pair of roller blades are found in his room with a note saying "try them on, they're realy comfortable" -Jared.
