This takes place during the main timeline of “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.” After Monokuma has taken over the school, and has announced the “Mutual Killing Game.” Makoto, despite the unfortunate circumstances, tries his best to remain optimistic… Believing the best in his classmates, and still trying to mentally prepare himself for the worst. (Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!) He’s a little forgetful at times and perhaps a little too trusting…
But? He always tries his best. Regardless of the circumstances!
This takes place immediately after “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc,” and goes into “Super Danganronpa 2: Good-bye Despair.” (So! It also is the branch for “Danganronpa AE: Ultra Despair Girls,” if we want to do anything during that timeline~) Makoto is more confident, having obtained the title “Ultimate Hope” from his friends after his show down with Junko. However? This confidence, and his belief in others, still leads him into trouble. He is a strong believer that even the worst people deserve a chance…
This is also the verse that will be being used for anything from Danganronpa 3, the Anime. So, anything with the DR3 killing game will take place during this verse.
Before the events of “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.” ( This can also work for Despair-less verses, as well. ) Makoto was accepted into Hope’s Peak Academy based on a “lottery system,” chosen to be their candidate of “Ultimate Lucky Student.” (Super High School Level Lucky Student.) Though he’s not sure he’ll fit in, he couldn’t turn down the surprising opportunity. He’s thrilled to be there, and hopeful that school life there will be everything he’s read about prior. I mean, “Guaranteed success” awaits those who graduate, right? That’s hard to pass up.
Warning: Spoilers to “Danganronpa: IF,” an unlockable story at the end of SDR2. Makoto, through a strange act of luck, upon the beginning of the Mutual Killing Game… Has managed to pull off the most unlikely stunt possible: Pulling the “Escape” button from the Monokuma Machine. A button designed to give the presser something of a zap that would slowly allow them to recover their memories…
[ For this: We can interact during these events? So, assuming Makoto just pressed the button, but elsewise things stayed the same… Or? We can do it after everything is said and done, and people are leaving or recovering, etc. Plotting is cool~ ]
[ Name: Mameka Naegi ]
Mameka is an older sister as well as the “lucky” duck who managed to win Hope’s Peak Academy’s once a year lottery, to decide who would recieve the title “Ultimate Lucky Student,” out of the masses. Though she doens’t feel she’s earned this right, she simply couldn’t help herself - it was hard to turn down an offer of success for the future, even if you don’t feel like you’ll fit in.
( For the most part, this is an add-on verse. So, this verse may appear in addition to one of the many other verses I have around~ And is mostly available by request. )
Along with the remaining “Survivors” from the massacre that took part at the Future Foundation, they’d strived to put back together Hope’s Peak Academy. And, with the finished result, we now have Naegi trying to figure out the basics of being the Headmaster - Not a goal he’d ever set his mind to before. But, now that he’s decided to do it? He needs to figure it out to the best of his abilities.
“… things will work out. I’m sure!”
A highly unlikely scenario plays before everyone’s eyes as the curtains rise on this little play and show: A mechanical bear showing up and telling everyone that they had to kill one another? That’s just insane, isn’t it? But, what’s even more unsettling? Is the one who seems the most normal? The small one whom only got pulled into this scenario because of a lottery… Is the one pulling the strings. Makoto has a complicated mind-set: Loving his classmates dearly, but wanting to destroy them to prove that being “ultimate” didn’t make them superior, due to a restlessness he’s felt for a long time… an eagerness he can’t put his finger on, or entirely understand. “Why did I do this? Hee… R-Really? You find out who it was, and that’s all you’ve got to say? Come on~ This has to have warranted a bigger response then that.”
[ My mastermind Makoto isn’t obsessed with despair? I’ll leave that as Junko’s thing. However? He is obsessed with his classmates. He truly does care for them all, deeply. He’d go as far as to say he loves them. But? It’s that obsessive love that makes him want to destroy them as well. Because he knows that the whole world is looking at them, longing for them, trusting them to bring hope into the world with whatever success they achieve. He doesn’t want the world to have them, however. And would much rather be the one to end them… so that their life, their light, their success? Will become part of him. ]
A resident of Orsus, Makoto Naegi has lived there his entire life. He has never tried leaving the safety of a Safe Haven, and doesn’t believe he would be able to survive outside of their home… He isn’t particularly strong, and if it came down to it? He’s not sure he could will himself to use his magic on anyone, regardless of whether or not it was for his own safety.
On the island? He tends to the gardens and such – He is considered something of the “grounds keeper” for the entire islands gardens, parks, and the likes. And? As a hobby, he runs a small florist shop.
Makoto is a Faie, a branch of Fairies, that have existed for a very long time. Their origin is from a line of demoted Angels – neither fallen, nor supportive of heaven, they have been demoted to living their entire lives on earth. And for their “sin of indecision” they, and every member of them born afterwards, have had their wings ripped off at birth by an arch-angel. It is their punishment for choosing neither side during the war of heaven and hell. Now, years of existence has aligned them to their new nature – giving them flat-colored eyes which do not reflect light. ( They still have the iris and pupil, but their eyes simply do not reflect anything. So? They can look a little dead to some people… ) Their ears have become pointed as well, and the tips of those ears? Share the color of their eyes. [ The duty of the Faie, given their original holy origin, is now to watch over the earth itself. Protecting it and nurturing it. It is an impossible job, but? It is the duty they were given, while true “angels” and “demons” fight over the souls of men. ]

The fact that he didn’t see this coming was absolutely ridiculous – somehow, Isanami was always just Isanami. The fact that he was crying, the fact that he was emotional, didn’t stop her from doing what she always did. Which? Was taking care of her team, in the only way she knew how. By being unapologetically herself. Including, but not limited to, forcing her teammates to make “fish-faces” to stop them from hurting themselves.
When she did so, he released his bite rather then fight her. She was right, he shouldn’t act that way. Least of all in front of her. ( . . . no. he shouldn’t act that way at all. not now, when he was part of a team. )
The Fire Brave did nod then – a silent agreement not to do that again. And to listen to the other. His eyes still glistening a little, he just focuses his molten eyes on the other’s amber hues. He would listen. He wouldn’t run away. And, another way to show it? He hugs her just a little bit more. He wouldn’t disappear. He’d wait. He’d listen. It was the very least Hanzo could do for his fellow BRAVE. Let alone the youth he was confessing all of this to. . .
When she started going into detail about all their adventures, he felt his lips twitch ever-so-slightly upwards. A small smile forcing itself onto his lips, despite the somber mood. They had a lot of shenanigans going for them, as members of this team, he’d found himself frequently at her side. Enjoying her company. He didn’t mind her giving him unreasonable requests. It wasn’t out of tolerance, it wasn’t him just putting up with her, it was out of the fact that he was simply glad to be at her side. And if that was how she tolerated him? He was happy to comply. And as their time together had increased, so had the amount of times they sought out each other…
As she kept talking, as he kept listening, he barely noticed he stopped crying. He felt his chest tighten – f e a r, as he recognized it now, as she kept talking. However, he felt himself take a breath when she said she didn’t hate him. And? That if he wanted to be her friend… he would have to live in the f u t u r e.
What a request. As a shinobi, he’s always been a tool. He’d never planned anything for himself – and the time he did, it was out of spite. And that hadn’t ended well. That had ended up with him losing an arm, and being frozen in a block of ice for a year… but… it had also ended in T H I S. So, was it really… b a d? He’d let her finish. Staying silent, as promised, as she spoke… “Manuel labor, letting you tease me, and living in the future? Living in the present? Not the past… I think… I think those t-terms are acceptable. I can live with that.” He tries to tease back - he knew his voice was a little flat. But? If she was trying to lighten the mood, who was he to ruin it?
He finally spoke again – his voice still raw. Pained. But, the tears in his eyes now were… relief. Not pain. “I won’t… disappear, Isanami. I promise you, I won’t… I won’t change how I act towards you. If you’re still here. If you’re… still willing to accept me at your side? I won’t… run away. I won’t hide myself behind walls. I don’t… want to push you away. I want to be here. I want… I want to be human.” It was terrifying – to admit that he wanted that. Even if he was absolutely horrified by his emotions.
Even if he was tortured by what he did – if she wanted him to get his head out of the past, and start living for the here and now? He’d… try.
“You’ll… have to forgive me. I won’t be very good at living in the here and now right away. But… I’ll learn. I’ll keep learning. I won’t… I won’t give up. If you’re willing to wait, if you’re willing to put up with me being just… stupidly bad at living for the future? If you’re willing to wait for me… I’ll keep trying until I catch up with you. I promise.” Hanzo very rarely used those words – he didn’t make promises. He didn’t make personal deals. As a shinobi – personal anything, was a failure on his part. But, in this instant? He was willing to f a i l at being a shinobi.
If it meant… that they could be f r i e n d s. That they could be companions. That he could belong here.
“I won’t push you away.” He murmurs again, nodding a little. Hanzo wasn’t used to people wanting to be near him, but, despite his own insecurities. Despite his F E A R. He wouldn’t do anything to hurt her… not again. Not if he could help it. “… as long as you want me to be here? I won’t go anywhere. Okay?” Somehow, this place had become his home. Somehow, U E D A had helped warm his heart – and open him up to people. Somehow, this rag-tag group of misfits had become his h o m e. And this place? He would protect it… regardless of what it took from him personally.
streetcrowned:
while she knew of his heritage - or rather, the lack of one - alibaba had always read his adventures, perhaps raising sinbad to an impossible inhuman pedestal. seeing him act so human and just like a person came therefor definitely as a shock to her ( and even if she had known it to be impossible, she had been disappointed by ja’far not being a horned and fire breathing demon ) but that was more of an issue of her constantly having her nose stuck in one of his stories.
at the king’s offer to show her sindria’s nightlife, the princess could not help but just wave with her hand “it’s fine, master sharrkan showed me those houses with the wine and the pretty ladies I know my way around now.” definitely not what was meant but she didn’t realize that at all.
“sorry ! sorry ! but you know, I always read your adventures, so seeing the mighty sinbad so frustrated by a simple hole in his clothes - forgive me for saying it like that but that is quite adorable! It makes you very human… and that is reassuring, you know? It means, maybe I can at least be a little bit like you once I am stronger!”
her needle is quick at work, and sun kissed hands make sure that neither the king nor her fingers get to feel the rather painful tip of the needle. lost in her work, alibaba didn’t even notice how she continued to talk, perhaps going as far as revealing things she had never dreamed about telling him. “before I came back to Balbadd to see how bad it got, I wanted to use most of my money to help it. But I wanted to keep some and come here - I always wanted to open a shop in Sindria, be part of your dream. Of course I never dreamed about meeting you or the generals, I just wished to be a normal citizen!… I doubt I can do that now. I need to gather my strength to help Balbadd but… while it lasted, I really loved that dream.”
When she brushed off his offer as something very … ah, different then he’d intended, Sinbad couldn’t help a hearty chuckle. Amusement in his golden eyes as he shakes his head. “Ah, I think you misunderstand me.” He comments, laughing a little still. Sinbad couldn’t help it – it was amusing for him that just about everyone always jumped to that conclusion for him first and foremost.
And yes, while he did have a history of frequenting places like that, after all: he enjoyed the company of his people. He was the king of Sindria. And he enjoyed being amongst those who called this land their home. It was part of the dream he’d worked so hard to accomplish.
“I meant… ah, never mind, I suppose. It’s rude to push an opinion on a lady who has already declined.” With that, he would wait to see if she asked him about it further. Why? Because he knew for a fact that when you start saying something and then retract it – it becomes a matter of interest. And honestly, he wanted to see how she responded to it. Perhaps it was cruel of him to play these little tricks on her, but he knew she was a passionate sort, and seeing her riled was fun.
“… I can see where there would be some amount of shock. I had a lot of fun writing those stories – but I suppose I can see where they would make me seem… almost inhuman.” Seeing him riled up like an average man, after only reading his stories? He could imagine there was some amount of shock. “I should have added more of my fluster and confusion. People would have had a clearer picture then.” He adds with a soft laugh – ( after all: he knew he left those things out on purpose. Creating and crafting a “PERFECT KING” in his manuscripts. ) “Well, if it inspires you to work hard? I hope you can do just that. I look forward to seeing what sort of world you might one day craft.”
And he hoped that she did it as his ally. However, he knew very well there was a possibility that that might not one day be the case.
However, as she worked and spoke – the king fell respectfully silent. Listening to her humble dream had him smile a little. It reminded him of his time as a fisherman. Back then, he would have never dreamed of becoming a KING. Not until he got that letter by the army. . . not before he met that MAGI, ether. “You know, I still have a company running elsewhere, right? It would not be impossible for you to set up a shop here, despite your other goals. Our countries have always had amicable ties. I wouldn’t deny you a storefront should you want to set one up.”
@streetcrowned
Leader of the Future Foundation’s Eighth Branch, Ruruka Andou is a bit cold and distant – A leader, as well as a member of the Future Foundation, but clearly disagreeing with certain key concepts that they run by. She is the former Ultimate Confectionist, having been kicked out of Hope’s Peak Academy … after a particularly eventful batch of tests. She is only particularly close to the leader of the Ninth Branch, Sonosuke Izayoi.
Despite being kicked out of Hope’s Peak Academy – She’s managed to make the best of things. Eventually buying and opening up a shop of her own. Which? Has done very well. Even being a disgraced member of Hope’s Peak Academy, means you have a lot of skill. So? People still happily come to her shop. And? In her own ways, she’s made peace with what has happened – She’s still successful. It’s not like she was ruined. And? She’s even begun reaching out to the people she blamed for what happened. It’ll do no one any good to stay bitter forever.
Alternatively ; She was never kicked out of Hope’s Peak Academy, and continued to study there alongside of her friends – However? Eventually, as events played out, she eventually learned about how she was treating Seiko. It was a harsh lesson. One she didn’t appreciate, nor did she really want to realize. But? Once the truth was out there … she did her best to figure out what she was doing wrong. Of course, it’s not an immediate change. But? She is trying to be a better friend for … all of them, honestly. She doesn’t want to be that person.
Despite the sheer effort she’d put into trying to kill herself, being under control of the brainwashing power of those videos … She managed to live. If only barely, she managed to live. She will never be the same. What she saw in those videos … did more to damage her then any of the wounds she inflicted upon herself. She is full of regret, full of anger, and… She is determined to keep living. If she’s alive, when her friends can’t be… she is determined to live. “If I’m alive, despite my efforts to kill me? Then I need to live. If not for me… then for them.”
She is not quite the same. She is damaged, slower, she has a lot more trouble making things. She has scars all over, emotionally and physically … And Ruruka will continue to stubbornly try to survive. And to make some sort of contribute to the slowly rebuilding world.
Recently brought into Hope’s Peak Academy’s class of 76, she is the Ultimate Confectionist. And as such? She is known to make many different types of candies, sweets, pastries, cakes – Desserts in general are her specialty. However? She does have a very particular personality. Feeling vulnerable, she tends to keep herself around her stronger friend, Izayoi … but? Having confidence issues, having her friend Seiko unable to eat her candies … hasn’t helped. This has made her a little bit bitter-sweet. Even if she understands what the other says, about being unable to eat them, it still is a blow to her confidence.
Ruruka Andou is a very busy woman. Often busy with scheduling, setting up meetings, as well as trying to meet with new local talents … You can say one thing for sure: She is one helluva manager. When she’s decided to take a personal interest in any particular talent, be it a singer, an artist, a musician… ? Whatever? If she’d decided to put her stamp of approval on them, she’ll be the first person to burst into any scene to try get the person she’s backing the support and advertisement she feels they deserve. She is the first to be at the scenes for good deals, the first to actively be looking for advertisement availability – signs, ads, commercials, etc. She is passionate about what she does, and who she helps. live.
Name ; Rikiya Andou
The Ultimate Confectionist and a former member of class 76, Rikiya is a strange young man. And, also, the current Head of Branch 8. He is strong willed, passionate, and confident in his abilities – However? Despite the confidence he shows, he is also somewhat fragile. He doesn’t trust people who have betrayed him. And? He is very slow to forgive a perceived offense. He frequently becomes nervous in life threatening situations, as he’s not willing to die, and because of that? He often finds himself half-hiding behind his stronger friends…
Ruruka has somehow survived the “DEATH GAME,” and? Has decided to leave the Future Foundation – Deciding, instead, to start her own group. She had mentioned wanted to do so, and after the carelessness of what happened? She had stated from the get go that she’d thought it was a bad idea for them all to be gathered, so? When things went wrong, she hadn’t been surprised. Now, the leader of a group she calls “DREAMS&DAYS,” a group that she has dedicated to helping fix the world in her own way. Perhaps it’s not as efficient as the Future Foundation had been … But as far as she’s concerned? They can shove it.
Gentle in appearance but quick to anger – Ruruka is actually one of the people who have been on Orsus for at least ten years now. In fact: She’s settled in pretty well! Making her own café and running it, more or less, on her own. ( She’s hired help here and there, but she often fires people… )
She is a young harpy by most standards. And? For the most part, she would prefer people don’t bring up her race at all. She tries to spend most of her time pretending that she isn’t a harpy… Though she considers herself a member of the Folk, she gets deeply offended when people bring up the stereotypes and history of her race. (After all: many legends call her race hideous and cruel – so?) Being a little over a hundred years old, she’s finally able to turn her wings into arms, and keep her talons into only sharpened nails. The only trait she is entirely unable to hide are her ears, which are feathered.
When surprised or angered, her eyes will flash a warning, predatory, yellow. And her teeth become jagged and sharpened – when she becomes her harpy form, she has control over wind and can summon storms. However? The fact that she’s uncomfortable with what she is, and she doesn’t like to pull attention to that fact? She has never learned to control these things.
Ardyn “Izunia,” as he chooses to be called, is the Chancellor of Niflheim. And? Because of that, he holds a position of importance - He calls a lot of shots, as well as does a lot of large-scale planning. A lot of Niflheim’s advantages, both magically and technology wise, have to do with the things he’s ether hinted at … Or downright given them. He has his own goals, however. He always has. And it has relatively little to do with the success of Niflheim’s conquest.
Approaching with a different name and acting the part of the friendly “stranger,” Ardyn has decided to do something of a… experiment. He’s been working at his goal for years, usually watching those involved at a distance. This time? He’s decided to do it from a fair bit closer.
He doesn’t expect this’ll change the results. Why would it? When he’s worked so long at something, he’s hardly about to change his mind. His methods, however? He’s used the same ones for so long. It’s time to change it up a bit…
Fate has always been a cruel mistress - Ardyn is more familiar with that then most people. However, despite how bitter he’s become, despite how long he’s been around, he has never seen a turn of events like this. The young prince, the fated king, has decided to come to him in hopes of… what? Overthrowing this world that was willing to throw him to the wolves?
… how interesting.
Unwilling to wait, the moment he found out that Noctis was going to be the “Chosen King,” he took matters into his own hands - Going to the capital and raising all sorts of hell. Leaving it near destroyed, and the boy? He took with him.
After that, he left the capital - using magic to help the boy’s memories sink to the bottom of his mind. Leaving him confused, but? Not without those memories. Eventually, when everything was said and done, they’d return. They’d float back to the surface, as long as Ardyn wasn’t around to use the spell anymore. In fact? Ardyn has prepared notebooks of information related to the capital, related to Noctis, about his abduction, who his real family is - Everything. But? For now, he’s decided he’d raise the boy who would eventually kill him. He wanted to make sure … He wanted to ensure that, this time? Things would end.
The young hero determined to become the king - the young man who was determined to help his people with the scourge! Ardyn is young, determined, and driven. He is willing to sacrifice himself and his time for his people’s well being and health.
This is before anything that lead to his exile - and? He’s only just barely beginning to feel the side effects of his ability to help those in need. So? He’s at his healthiest, and at his most basic mindset. Without years and years of hate tainting it, you’ll find he’s a pretty pleasant guy, all things considered! A little exhausted - but? You’ll have to expect that a little, given how hard the guy works.
Hattori Hanzo, the leader of the Iga League of Five, is a manipulative shinobi whose existence… is a little strange. “Hattori Hanzo” is a false name, handed down from shinobi to shinobi, to whomever is strongest at that time. It is to create the illusion of “immortality.” (If one dies, another will arise.) However? The strangest things about him are his views on the world, the fact that he wants shinobi to rule over the lords, and the simple fact that he can summon fire from nothingness. At this point? He’s not terribly approachable, unless he’s been hired to do a job. And even then? Don’t expect him to butter you up.
For a while, Hanzo was something of a traveling shinobi. Initially unemployed, and eventually hired by Sanada Yukimura, to become their current “Brave of Fire.” He’s trying to become a member of the team, and because of that? He has a little bit of a different “persona” that he’s presenting to everyone. Friendly, approachable, and attempting to be a team player, Hanzo is attempting to become a part of the Braves and live up to his new title. But? How sincere is it? That’s the part the whole team is questioning.
Hanzo is a very particular sort. A little too nosy. A little too friendly. And? A little too pushy. He likes to involve himself in his friends activities and make himself a part of the group. This occasionally makes him hard to be around, but? This won’t stop him. ( He is a senior in high school, in this AU. He’s also known for taking a multitude of odd jobs, due to the fact that he lives alone. )
Warning: This AU is based on a headcanon that I have with Dev. ( @carnifcx ) In this AU, Hattori Hanzo is the “persona” that Saizou’s “dead friend” became. Due to the fact that he had willingly subjected himself to working for a lord, only to find himself discarded and “killed,” before being tossed into a river? Hanzo has a vague fear of fast waters and cloudy memories from before the incident in its entirety. He doesn’t remember being Saizou’s old friend, and he’s become very different since then… However? From time to time, those old memories come creepy up… and he wishes he knew who that old friend of his was.
This is the main timeline for SDR2: The beginning wasn’t so bad – It was confusing and that had put him on edge, he was yakuza,he couldn’t exactly afford to simply brush it off. This could have been an incident. It could have been a kidnapping for all he knew. However, as far as he could figure out? It didn’t look like it. Not at first, at least. But, once the killing game got announced, he made sure to separate himself from the group… while leaving a way for him to continue to get information inside of the group. Of course, even this didn’t work out in the end. Leaving him in a situation where he eventually became a part of the group. But, even then, he could be aggressive and defensive.
This is the primary verse for any DR3: Despair interactions!
Despite the fact that he had always attended class anyways, with the arrival of their new teacher, Yukizome, things have gotten a lot livelier. Sure, he still is reserved. He tries to keep himself a little bit away from his fellow classmates – after all. He does have a rather dark talent. And he doesn’t want people to heavily be involved with him or his family. This doesn’t mean he’s unwilling to spend time with his classmates, however. It just means he might have some reservations when it comes to getting to really know someone.
Despite starting out with what he was pretty sure was a kidnapping, it appears their “Teacher,” the overly enthusiastic rabbit, wasn’t lying. This really does just seem to be a place meant to form friendly bonds with one another. To create “hope” with one another. However cheesy that sounds? It doesn’t appear to have been a lie. So? Despite his restrictions at first, he does start to warm up to the others. “If I don’t, we won’t be able to leave anyways. This is in my best interest.” Sure it is, Fuyuhiko. Sure it is.
With despair twisting his mind? Fuyuhiko is a savage leader and a ruthless companion to the “Remnant’s of Despair.” After all: Who is better suited for this sort of bloody work? He was the Ultimate Yakuza. From the get go, he had a small army’s worth of people willing to follow his every order. When he fell into despair? It was only natural that he would become one of the more frightening of them. He has an intelligence network. He has warriors willing to do anything he asks. And? He has no shortage of plans of what to do, and how to do it, when it comes to plunging the world into despair.
( The primary verse for Post-SDR2 and during DR3:Future&Hope )
Being one of the survivors from the Neo World Program’s killing game, he like the others, had decided to stick around. Waiting for their companions to awaken. And? Once they did, they were more then happy to repay the favor. After all: They wouldn’t even have this chance if it wasn’t for a certain few who had decided it necessary to give them a second chance. Sure, life is going to be a little difficult - but? That is their repentance. Something Fuyuhiko is more then willing to live with.
A member of Orsus’ community for ages, he honestly cares very little to get involved with the others on the island. As long as they never become someone he has to collect from? He tries to give everyone their space – with the exception of his partner, Peko.
Fuyuhiko is a demon of an unranked position – after all, he’s related to arch-demons, and yet? He doesn’t want a place amongst them. So? There was a compromise. He would be allowed to live on the surface, so long as he took a specific job. He’s a demon in charge of “collection,” fetching the souls and such that were promised other demons in exchange for longer lives, riches, and the likes. He is very intolerant of people trying to offer him counter deals, however…
For the most part, Fuyuhiko normally looks like an average human. At least, until his powers are used – Any use of any of his abilities will make him lose his bind on his appearance, revealing his spiral horns on the side of his head, and his lengthy claws. His eyes also blaze red whenever he’s using any of his magic. Specifically his “ascension” magic, which he can use to pull souls out of bodies painlessly, assuming they don’t try to make a deal with him. Any attempts of bargaining, and he’ll use a far more violent method.

Feeling the change in movement that indicated he was now taking cover, Isanami decided to carefully slid a fraction of her eyes open. Once she saw that there was nothing to endanger her vision, she opened her eyes fully in order to gaze upon her savior. Her kind BENEFACTOR. When Adlet asks if she’d like to wear a poncho, she nods without hesitation. Anything that he would give her she’d accept. ❛ Yes. ❜ Still, vocalizing her answer serves as just added assurance. Despite how grateful she was, she wanted to keep communication between them as clear as possible.
And he agrees with her own wishes as well, to not kill anyone… ah, this could only be fate indeed! She smiles warmly, sitting away from his arm a little… but that’s only so she can EMBRACE it in her next movement. Hugging his arm and pulling him closer to her, giggling like any girl her age should in a normal situation. Yet this situation was certainly not “normal” by any standard; at least, it was doubtful that any teenager girl’s dream was to be chased in dark forests by scary ninjas. Oh! But being saved and protected by a man, that was surely every girl’s dream! Isanami was told some stories similar to that by the head priest. Could it be that right now, she was the princess and Adlet was her knight in shining poncho?
❛ Okay! ❜ She says, nodding in affirmation when he explains his plan. ❛ They’d never think that we were behind them. I like that idea! You’re amazing, ne~ ❜ Her own attitude beginning to brighten in light of her newly PROTECTED position, she moves a little in surprise when he hands out the heat pad to her. ❛ Oh! I’ll take it, but I think you’re much warmer, Adlet. ❜ She lets go of his arm a bit begrudgingly, but because he had taken the time to give her something like that, she wanted to use it to make him happier.
She holds the heat pad carefully, but after a few moments she found that her sleeves were blocking some of the heat. Therefore, while listening to Adlet detail the rest of his plan, she decides to pull her sleeves back so her hands could grab the pad. It was dark in the cave, but even with the little MOONLIGHT that slipped in, she could see her hands. Those marks. Panicking, Isanami pulls her sleeves back down immediately and grasps the heat pad closer to her body. ❛ O-Oh, a week? That’s okay. I don’t want to be in a rush… ❜
Isanami grins at his conviction, his PROMISE to her that he would get her to Ueda without a doubt. Her earlier distress forgotten, she nods and plops herself back next to him. ❛ Ueda… I wonder what it’s like. I’ll believe in you though, Adlet. I’m sure there’ll be nothing but good things now that you’re with me, ne~ ❜
To say that he wasn’t expecting this mission would be the understatement of the year. Honestly, Adlet had simply been traveling when all this started – however? As the “STRONGEST MAN in the WOLRD,” Adlet felt it was his responsibility to help those who come to him with trouble. Perhaps that was silly, but? After how helpless he’d felt as a child? He couldn’t possibly overlook anyone who needed help.
Especially someone as genuine as this young priestess. She was kind and earnest. She surely didn’t deserve to be hounded by those cruel shinobi…
“It’s the best way to go without having to risk too many battles.” He comments, smiling proudly. To be honest, it worked better that way – he didn’t want to kill anyone and she didn’t want anyone killed. ( What an ODD duo they made, and yet? How perfect? ) It was good they AGREED on such big subjects. Though, when she clung to him for a big, he just grins and pats the top of her head very carefully. Attempting to reassure her.
He wouldn’t say it, but he thought the way she was acting was very sweet – childlike, almost, but very sweet. Honestly, they’d known each other for only a few hours, but he could feel a fierce protectiveness beginning to form. Perhaps it was because he was just one of those types of warriors. He bonded strongly with those he attempted to help, regardless. But she was very sweet. And he was very glad that she seemed to be warming up to him as well.
“Glad I can help.” Adlet chuckles back when she says that she thought he was warm. It was good – after all, weather could be a little unpredictable. Worse comes to worse, they could stay near each other for warmth.
“If you need to get there faster, we could wait here for about… two days, and then rush a route that would bring us around the path we’d normally take. I know a few shortcuts through the area, but they’re a little risky.” He explains – he wouldn’t alter that they should wait for a bit. It was best for the enemies to pass them by a long shot before they risk anything too tricky. But? He’d let her make the call about how fast they should get going. After all: She’d know her own endurance level better then he would. With that, he pulls the map more into their vision again. He would show her what he meant – and it was because of this? That he was too distracted to see what she was fiddling with her sleeves for. “If we wait for a day or two, they’ll overshoot us. They seem to know that you’re heading this way – towards Ueda.” He traces the straight path there, being shinobi? He doubted they’d take anything but the direct path. “So, if we need to get there sooner? I’d recommend we go a little this way…” With that, he puts his finger back towards their hiding spot, before tracing a line out towards a river. “It’s a little more… crazy. Terrane wise. But? I doubt they’d think we’d head towards a more open area like this, and? It would still lead us straight into Ueda. I’d say… five or four days. Depending on the weather and how face you’re willing to go.”
However, with her other question in mind – he stops to think for a bit. What was Ueda like? He was trying to head there on business, but he hadn’t actually been there before. “I hear it’s a prosperous little area. The Lord is apparently a… interesting fellow. Not bad, but not… average? At least that’s what rumors say.” He comments, laughing a little. “And I believe that nothing but good will come our way too~ Good luck is an important part of being the Strongest Man in the World.”
Having died unexpectedly, he has suddenly found himself the new “spirit detective” - a job that has been rather ungraciously shoved upon him. All in all, he’s actually surprisingly good at it. Despite his tendencies to act before thinking and throwing himself headfirst into dangerous situations that may or may not cost him his soul...
In a twist of fate, it appears his second resurrection has awakened his ancestor’s blood in his veins - an ancient bloodline that he wasn’t even remotely aware he’d had. After all: It was so remote that it was less then one percent demon blood in him... and yet, now he’s got it pulsing through his veins the same as everything else. Strange. But, he’s just sorta rolling with it now.
Yusuke has finally decided that outside of just fighting, he’s going to pick up a normal job - in fact? He eventually picked up his own noodle stand, and has been running it as a fairly successful business. And? Once he’d been doing well enough? He finally decides to buy a rather small shop. It’s not much, but it’s good enough for the former spirit detective - not to say he’s against the occasional job now and again, but he only takes the ones he wants to nowadays.
All cards on the table, Anastasia is now known as a traitor, and a member of the “Iga League of Five.” She is cold, aloof, and appears to have no genuine interest in the Braves, their leader, or anything else. However? There is an amount of sadness in her eyes that doesn’t match her actions… or her words. Does she care? Doesn’t she? Part of her training makes it difficult to find out.
Anastasia: The playful, teasing, Brave of Ice. She was one of the first few Braves, and has been with Yukimura ever since her first attempt at killing him. She was surprised to see her childhood friend, Saizou, join the group, but? It’s just made her even more playful- Much to the distress of some of the other comrades. However? She does say and do some things sometimes… that make it difficult to find out whether or not she’s truthfully close to them or not.
Very surprisingly, Anastasia has returned after her betrayal… and has been given the chance to return to the group as the “Brave of Ice.” (Much to her own surprise.) She has become quieter and more loyal. She spends a lot more time patrolling and doing just about everything asked out of her. Ana has always been a serious and strong kunoichi, however? She seems busier than ever. She does, however, appear more genuinely attached to the group now.
An unattached kunoichi whose only connection is to the clan that raised her, Anastasia is a vicious and powerful woman. She is a hired hand, and willing to work for most people, as long as the pay is high enough. She has no care for those she works for, however, and seems to only connect with a few of the people she’s known in Iga for a long time. However? She is old enough now, and trained enough, that she can also train others into Iga.
Through with being tied to the group that trained her, Anastasia has gone off on her own. Without the protection and such of the group? Anastasia is a little more vicious, because? She needs to be. After all: She’s obviously a foreigner, which doesn’t do well for her already… And? Being a free-roaming kunoichi? It’s a little harder for her to get jobs, without the Iga name behind her. “Don’t waste my time. If you don’t have the money? Get lost. I have no time for charity work.”
A senior at high school, Anastasia is a bit of an odd one. A foreign exchange student from Russia, she came her to master Japanese as a second language. So far? It seems to be going very well, however? Because she sometimes struggles with her language skills, it can make her appear a little cold or distant, because it can be difficult for her to communicate well. (Translating things in her head, switching it over, and then finally speaking? Can make her a little slow in responding to things at times.)
patixntia:
❖ ─ ━ ɩɴⅴеႽτɩնατοʀ She didn’t need to be lectured nor did she need to be reminded how wrong one mistake would lead to her end but that didn’t matter in the slightest. If she could at least get through with this and tried to talk to him then that would make a difference, she was a pacifist at heart, kind to a fault and above all-patient when it is needed. ❝I don’t need to be an Ultimate to have a talent, to be bound by just one. ❞ Breathe, and relax. That’s all she needed to keep her composure and not fail this task. Being calm is needed and honestly, she has faced death almost before yet that was a long time ago and it’s the same right now too. She wasn’t anything special but if she can reach out to others then that is all that matters to her, she could relate to people yet not relate to them at all. ❝I want to make a difference that’s all. Even if my efforts are so little, so little that it goes unnoticed yet if it impacts it just slightly then that matters most to me. Being able to save lives and having those lives to live another day when some can’t matters mostly. ❞ Unlike her….if I could save others from the same fate then that’s fine. One step, two step, stay positive. ❝The boss views you Despairs as targets and wanting to kill you, whatever Munakata-san says, goes to the boss there. I don’t believe that a happy ending will come true if ALL of Despair itself will vanish, there’s need to be an equal balance between both Hope and Despair. To me, you Remnants are victims, yet victims that are not monsters. My goal is to talk and not capture if I’m able to make it out alive. ❞
Happiness nor hope was a fleeting and fickle thing, her light was snuffed up so death was welcoming to her. But right now she has someone to get back to so failure wasn’t an option. ❝My skills alone won’t be able to do that-maybe in the future you’ll likely be saved. For now I just want to hold up a conversation. As said before I only want to talk, capturing isn’t an option for me. I always like to get to know the person I’m talking to before I judge them if they are worthy of my trust. I am kind to a fault afterall and…everyone has a few skeletons hiding in their closet including me but you don’t need to know what is it.❞ She took a few more steps if her experience taught her anything is to take risks and jump at fate so she just have to hold her breath and continue forward. ❝I’m fine! If I can’t do this alone then it would just be another blow to my self-esteem or my pride. ❞
For a moment, his eyes widen just a little – those words reminded him a little of someone, but? In his extreme disassociation of being SERVANT, he couldn’t recognize whom said it. Confusion sits obviously in his expression now. Almost to the point of FRUSTRATION.
With that, the DESPAIR-obsessed youth frowns. Biting his lower lip in irritation. Why couldn’t he remember who said that? Or said something similar? He knew s o m e o n e had once spoken along those lines to him before – and who was it? Who? “… is that something you believe? Or is that something you learned?” Nagito’s words, this time, sounded confused. Perhaps that was simply the view of the S M A L L trying to make themselves feel better. But, he could also remember one who was (h o p e) speaking of a TALENT like c h a i n s. Something that captured them and held them to do a singular thing. . . “You’ll often find those with the title Ultimate serve to have many talents and sub-talents, in relation. Are you saying that we are trapped by these titles?” Not that he often considered himself part of those “ULTIMATES.” – that was why he could become something as lowly as a SERVANT to those tyrannical children. . .
Though, as she spoke, Nagito listened quietly this time. What an ODD goose. She wanted to make a difference – even if it was only to a handful of people. Could such a miniscule goal even be considered a goal? If everything she ever accomplished only helped a handful of people who also didn’t accomplish anything . . . wouldn’t that be infuriating?
He wanted to ask, his lips parted to do so, however – this time his BAD LUCK kicked in. A coughing fit starting up due to the access of DUST in the air. And, due to it, he collapses onto his knees. Shifting his weight a little roughly, and both would hear the SCREECH of ground moving because of it. He could hear the distressed metal crying out as remnants of it attempted to hold up the remaining ground. “… i-is… that so? What a strange… dream.” Nagito laughs out the words a little. He couldn’t understand those words, honestly. He couldn’t understand her point of few. After all: He’d already written her off as someone of “no importance.”
It would take a miracle for the current Komaeda to even remotely accept what she said. His brain twisted with both HOPE & DESPAIR.
Now that he’d settled a little – the coughing fit having stopped, the ground stopped moving as much… however? The ground was weaker now. And cracks were forming at an alarming rate. Komaeda knew that if he stayed where he was, even if she didn’t come over here, he’d end up falling. However? He had no fear of d e a t h – this was his game. He’d set it up, and he wouldn’t move. “… victims, hmm?” No. Nagito wouldn’t consider himself a victim. The only VICTIM died far before this – the person he’d considered his classes H O P E had vanished from them that day. . . long ago. “Are we truly what you would consider pitiable? That’s almost… laughable, honestly.” He smiles a little then. However, given his current state of kneeling on the ground, he didn’t look… as in control as he’d once been. At this moment, SERVANT almost looked like a victim. Tired. ALMOST SAD, even in his smile. “If you can get to me, I have agreed I’d go with you. So? If you want to talk – if that’s the reward you seek, then fine. Come and take it.”
WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD BE MADE FROM TALKING? H o n e s t l y everything she said confused him: but, perhaps that was alright. “… you’re a strange girl.” She wanted to help him? She wanted to talk? To build a future where he might be saved? He couldn’t tell if she was optimistic or pessimistic. But? It was … funny, to see how her brain worked.
If she continued as carefully as she was… she might truly make it. He could see her carefully shuffling along. She was obviously used to this breaking world. However, with his earlier coughing fit, if she got too close? The ground would collapse. Would she be able to reach him? Truly? He smiles a little… not noticing the blood that trickled down his lip to his chin. ( when he earlier bit his lip in frustration – he’d managed to do some damage. ) “I shall not move, then.” The words were earnestly spoken, though a part of him still believed she couldn’t do it… she was now much closer. If she kept it up at this pace, she might truly be able to reach him.
… he couldn’t tell if he was SURPRISED or IMPRESSED that she was truly willing to do something so risky. Especially if she knew his former t i t l e.
