Hi! Some of my work will be featured this Sunday at the Roux (17 Frost Gallery 1-5 pm) in Brooklyn for their celebration of Black Art. I made this piece based on an Afrofuturism concept by the dance choreographer/performing artists Celine-Niara Sakho and Sarafina Beck which will later be made into a dance performance by them. There will be lots of great artist and music at the exhibit too. Hope to see y'all there! My Thoughts... Humanitarian Crisis (Ebola)

In the wake of this current epidemic, which has devastated West Africa (Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria with over 4,500 casualties) being of Ghanaian descent, I can’t help but express my hurt over this.

Also, I have to say I love the US and all of the opportunities my parents came and fought hard to afford their children… However, I have to say I’m very disappointed by the US Governments (the Center for Disease Control in particular’s) response to this outbreak. This problem should have been dealt with much, much sooner before it got out of hand. Thousands of lives could’ve been saved and its entry into the US could’ve been prevented. Instead our government decided to drag its feet knowing these affected West African countries did not possess the resources to contain the virus. Though I feel African countries despite our history still have to stand on their own, this was a situation where not just the US, but the whole global community should’ve set aside their differences (US and Russia for example) and aided in annihilating what has now become a humanitarian crisis. This virus is not prejudice doesn’t discriminate, fight over borders, or oil- its nature is to infect, kill and multiply and if not fought aggressively from this point on, this outbreak can easily become a global epidemic…

To be honest, I feel like we have to also seriously reevaluate our government and how it functions if it finds it easier to send drones than to lend a helping hand. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and it’s my hope that the global community gets on this before its too late! Thanks

I want to say thanks to everyone at the Post New York Alliance for all your work creating more opportunities for storytellers and creatives from diverse backgrounds. Thanks again. I appreciate the PNYA featuring me in their "Spotlight of the Month." @postnewyorkalliance #film #tv #writer #screenwriter #artist #postproduction #storyteller #poccreatives

BIOGRAPHY Abdul Ndadi is a Harlem-born writer/artist of Ghanaian descent living in the Bronx. He studied Animation at the School of Visual Arts and started in the industry as a storyboard artist and character designer for independent film productions. His animated short Orisha's Journey, based on various African folktales, premiered in Japan at Hiroshima's animation festival and played last year at Annecy's special screening of African animation. Wanting to expand the types of stories he'd like to tell, Abdul transitioned into live-action after joining the Made in NY Post-production training program and now works as a post-production assistant for scripted film and television. Abdul is looking to apply all the knowledge he gains from helping the industry professionals he's fortunate enough to work with to create new stories of his own.

Some more good news my film will be screening in Ghana on August 18th as part of the “Chale Wote 2016!” This means a lot to me, though I was fortunate enough to screen at festivals around the world, it’s now playing in my homeland for the first time! So I’m very grateful for this honor:)
