PART 4- I took the original concept of “The Lady, Or the Tiger?” by Frank R. Stockton and decided to create my own version with original characters and dialogue. Here are the storyboards. (Please see other parts for the whole story) WIP
The first image of the phoenix with the serpent tails appeared to me in a wild, vivid dream and I had to sketch it. And some roughs. #illustration #drawing #sketch #characterdesign #penandink #sketchbookdrawing #dreams #phoenix #dragons https://www.instagram.com/p/CHdTsJNjS52/?igshid=n12pgco3efa9

Hey y'all got these back from Japan and wanted to share! I also wanted to thank Hiroshima International Animation Festival co-founder and Director Mrs. Sayoko Kinoshita (ASIFA Vice President/ASIFA Japan President) for all her kind words and for screening my film at HIAFF. The festival was built on the premise of taking the center of one of the ugliest acts against humanity (Hiroshima Bombing 1945) and using animation as a platform to promote peace and understanding between all peoples. I feel truly fortunate to have been a part of this year's festival! -Abdul
Hi! This is a fable from my comic (Phoenix Quest) called the “Battle for Gaia.” It’s a myth of how we get Day and Night, as described in a battle between the gods of light and darkness. Thanks! -Abdul

The second, “Songs of the Ancients/Godstone Temple” will also be published in an Art Book by the great Meryl Rosner coming out in August called “Drawing with Dynamic Perspective: Art for Animation and Live-Action Film” (http://allworth.com/allworth?catid=0&id=12312) each is part of the world of my comic “Phoenix Quest” Thanks! I’ll post more work from the show soon!

Some pics at the premiere of the Netflix series "5 Came Back" at Lincoln Center ... Steven Spielberg, Tom Brokow, and many directors where in attendance. The coolest part for me was running into Guillermo del Toro again! He remembered me from Cannes and asked how I'd been. Definitely a great experience. -Abdul
Hi, everyone! I wanted to share some good news my film was selected to play at the Caribbean Tales International Film Festival in September. Also, I was fortunate enough to meet Director John Singleton at the 25th Anniversary of his debut "Boyz N the Hood," which made him the youngest (20 yrs.) director to ever receive an Oscar nomination. It was really inspiring to talk with him a bit and hear about the importance of recognizing one's culture and finding an artistic truth to your work. Peace!- Abdul http://www.caribbeantales.ca/CTFF/
