Viserys : I want Rhaenyra to succeed me as queen as she's my eldest living child. If anyone dares to object my decision they'll be charged with treason!
Also Viserys: *Marries another woman and has sons by her who could have a better claim that Rhae's for the Lords. Doesn't legally change the law of succession to absolute primogeniture, thus treating Rhaenyra's status as heir like a one time exception. Doesn't do anything to prevent her from having bastards so her position is even shakier than before. Doesn't teach her how to rule properly and allowes her to do as she pleases. Appoints Otto Hightower as hand even though he's known for being a schemer and generally a shady guy who obviously favors his grandson for the throne. Lets her marry her unstable uncle who's the reason he named her heir in the first place*
Half of Westeros: *understandably doesn't accept her and supports her brother instead, thus starting a devastating civil war*
Viserys from the seven hells:
Next season Aemond needs to simply pull a Rhaenyra ✨ and ✨gaslight ✨ everyone about not killing Lucerys - Everyone knows and yet he just goes on about these ✨false and treasonous accusations ✨
It wasn't really stated when Eren developed feelings for Mikasa, honesty that confession scene with Armin felt forced.
And I always thought and saw Eren as being dense on romance in general. More interesting in fighting and killing than looking at girls
Yeah exactly. One of my main gripes with the shitty rushed finale is this out of nowhere love that Eren allegedly has for Mikasa.
Where did it come from? Where were the hints? How can you possibly tell me that he loved her romantically?
Don't get me wrong I don't think two characters have to aggressively blush at each other for 3 seasons straight before believing they like one another, but this plot twist is bullshit.
After the time skip Eren got more and more distant from his friends as a result of his future memories and the genocide he was destined to commit. He knew Armin and Mikasa wouldn't understand him, so he kept them at arm's length.
When it comes to Mikasa in particular, he showed a lot of irritation towards her, for how she constantly babied him throughout their lives.
I mean come on have you read chapter 112?
( I know he didn't mean it, but still, that's a pretty fucked up thing to say to a person you love.)
Trust is also one of the most important aspects of any relationship. And Eren never trusted Armin and Mikasa with pretty much anything post time skip, which is specifically why he pushed them away!
His love for her has always been platonic, so much so that in an interview from a few years ago Isayama said that their relationship was similar to that of a mother with her child.
But I guess Yams kinda forgot how Eremika worked for 130+ chapters uh?
That confession scene wasn't just forced, it was pathetic. It completely erased who Eren was as a character and replaced him with the cheapest copy on sale at Walmart.
(It's been three years and I'm still salty about that panel how is that possible?)
When it comes to Eren and the concept of romance, well.. Yeah pre time skip he was kinda dense, in the typical Shonen protagonist way, buut after the time jump you can clearly see that it's no longer the case from the convo with Falco in Liberio. Pre time skip Eren would have never reached that conclusion.
(Wow, it's almost as if he understands Falco's struggle of not wanting a girl he loves getting titanized, I wonder if it's supposed to mean anything, uhhh.)
I really don't understand the writer's reasoning for race swapping the Velaryon's, when every Velaryon is mistreated or cast aside by the all white Targaryen's. Literally everyone of them.
• Corlys - Is apparently so selfish he's willing to disregard all of his blood related family to put a white boy that is no relation to him on his ancestral seat just because he carries his last name? Even though there's plenty of other actual Velaryon's that carry the Velaryon name.
• Vaemond - Gets murdered for telling the truth, and not wanting Driftmark to go to someone who isn't a true Velaryon. I think they only added him calling Rhaenyra a whore after calling her son's bastards to try and make his death justifiable, as if calling someone a bad name = off with his head.
• Laena - Is married to Daemon but knows that she isn't his first choice, and if he had his way he'd be with his (white) niece. Is stuck by his side in Pentos even though he knows she wants to return home. Supposedly dies a *badass* dragon rider death, but I just saw a pregnant black woman dying in agony. Like that doesn't already happen in real life when black women are four times more likely to die in childbirth.
• Laenor - The cuckold of all cuckolds. In almost every scene of adult Laenor he's completely miserable. And apparently he too is willing to disregard all his trueborn family to put a white boy that isn't his on the Driftmark throne. And I don't find Rhaenyra to be some great LGBTQ ally by "letting" Laenor run away and permanently leave his home and family behind so he can be with his partner and she can remarry.
• Baela and Rhaena - Have actual Velaryon blood through their mother, get passed over so another white boy can get something he has no entitlement too. Baela would have had a slim chance of ending up queen because even if Rhaenyra became queen, the lords of Westeros would have been very unlikely to accept an illegitimate son as her heir. Rhaena could become lady of Driftmark but only as a consort through Luke, meaning if he died her claim to Driftmark would die with him.
I'm all for diversity and representation, but was the family who consistently gets walked all over the best choice to make POC?
I think they were aiming for liberal and inclusive, but that doesn't really work when your white characters use and exploit the black characters you've purposely made black.
Aegon punishing Blood PERSONALLY
Being Alicent Hightower's granddaughter
Being created by Aegon II's sperm
Being autistic
Marrying the son of the woman her father killed in a political marriage
Not making her traumatized husband happy
Having "diluted" blood
Being named after misogynistic King Jaehaerys
The crossover I never knew I needed
“Thank you”
“I think I’m the one who should be thanking you”
Oh god I need to rant.
I'm sorry but why do the blacks want a 10 year old girl to die so bad? Please enlighten me cause I frankly don't know what to say anymore.
I will never agree with Jaehaera being shoved out of a window not because I'm obsessed with the idea of the green bloodline continuing.
I just don't believe that a little girl who has brutally lost her entire family in the span of two years deserves to die an agonizingly painful death just because the author doesn't like the greens.
She actually deserved to live and heal from what happened during the dance and have a happy life. Why is it okay to wish for Aegon III to process his trauma, see his remaining family again and rule but not okay to want the same thing for Jaehaera? Why is her death necessary?
And don't pull that "she was too broken to be a good wife to Aegon, George put her out of her misery* bullshit cause I'll snap. I think we've all had enough of women being considered unstable because of their emotions and being put down like dogs for the greater good. If I liked that way of thinking I would have just watched season 8 thank you very much.
And my knees bend once more
Yess I get you. I only got into asoiaf this summer while watching House of the Dragon. I was like "this is so good! It would be even more amazing if I knew more about this world!" And so in August I started reading. Honestly, I'd wanted to get my hand on these books for so long, that when I actually got them I couldn't put them down. I read all of Agot and Acok in a month! I still didn't have to worry about school so I stayed awake every night till 3 am reading, it was insane. But once September rolled around and I ordered Asos school started and so I slowed down a lot. It took me like 2 months just to finish it and I'm still only half way through Affc. Also I took a break from the main series books to read Fire & Blood now. Have been loving it thus far
only getting into asoiaf this year is so stressful. im so far behind everyone and the books are so heavy i cant just blitz through them like id like too
While preparing for a family group photo in 1899, the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia discovers the camera and point it out to her older sister, Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom. Meanwhile their nephew, Prince George of Greece, is jumping over the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of King Christian IX who are waiting for the photograph to be taken. In the bottom of the gifs are Maria Feodorovna’s three granddaughters: Princess Irina Alexandrovna and the Grand Duchesses Olga (far right) and Tatiana (not in the picture) Nikolaevna, together with the children of Prince Valdemar of Denmark: Prince Aage, Prince Viggo and Princess Margrethe.
