I’ve come to a realization about the fine line that separates superheroes and magical girls, that being that most magical girls share these traits:

The way they come into their powers is typically out of their control

They are a “chosen one,” unique among their peers

They aren’t the ones who initially decide to fight evil, rather the ones bestowing their powers onto them tell them they need to fight evil

They are typically quite young, none exceeding the age of 20

They have animal/mascot companions

They have a transformation sequence into their more magical form, typically activated by a catchphrase

From these observations, I have concluded

I love Azrael so much. It’s also nice to have a blorbo that has worse mental health than me for once. I may be falling into the endless void of despair rn, but he’s made himself a home there. I love him so much. He’s my little man.
