what am worms
why am worms
explain worms
i had to look some of this up but
so worms aren’t actually like their own thing, “worm” is just a word to describe any limbless, tube shaped, symmetrical animal, or any non-arthropod invertebrate creatures. there’s even a leg less lizard included in the worm group!
the biggest worm ever recorded was 180ft/55m (bootlace worm)! but if we’re just talking about earth worms, then the biggest would be the African giant earthworm at an average of 4.5 feet long. there are over 6000+ species of worms across every continent (besides Antarctica)
I have no idea why they evolved like that but I’m glad they did! Worms are our best natural janitors:)
but I was a man born [title card]
I did what I was told//but I was a man born invisible
new tumblr game. put in the tags a GENUINE flaw your fav(s) has. cant be something like "too kind" or "loves too much" like something genuinely bad messed up morally wrong they are or have done
Feeling an indescribable tragedy for anyone who cares about her half as much as I care about March 💔
kinda funny to me that shatterbird's whole damage is a desire not to be a footnote, to be famous and unforgettable, and i've spent like an hour just trying to figure out how old she is because worm cares so little about her. lol. Idiot
Picking Coil because he would absolutely make alternate realities to cause the most inflammatory drama possible
It is 5am
I haven't slept
I have a presentation in 4.5 hours
Considered putting Manton but considering he had a simurgh tattoo despite not being a victim I felt he was a cheat answer
That's what happens when you give a little girl Path to Victory
i think important thing to note in worm is that Cauldrons plan fully succeeded. It wasn’t a very defined plan, but i think it’s worth mentioning that Scion was eventually stopped by Taylor (1) , who lived in the USA on earth Bet (2), who was a supervillain (3) for the first few months of her career, joined the Protectorate(4), was modified by Panacea (5) and managed to become incredibly powerful through her synergy with Clairvoyant and Doormaker (6), and defeated Scion using an army of every cape in existence (7).
(1) A character who was raised in a society indoctrinated with heroic values by cauldron)
(2) A society that only exists because of constant active intervention by cauldron
(3) A stable position in society that only exists because it was artificially created by cauldron for non conforming capes
(4) An organisation founded and maintained by cauldron
(5) An inhabitant of the birdcage, which was created by cauldron to store powerful parahumans in case their abilities could be used for situations like this
(6) Two very powerful capes specifically created by cauldrons human experimentation
(7) Several thousand of which only exist because of Cauldron directly
Like, there’s often a perception especially with new readers that Cauldron were incompetent and committed a bunch of human rights violations for no reason, until Taylor had to step in and use her mega cool powers to show them how it’s really done. But that’s just not accurate, because it’s not accounting for how much of the setting is directly tied to Cauldron. Without Cauldron, Taylor grows up in a post apocalyptic world, where capes have no expectations of using their powers to help others, and live even shorter and more brutal lives than in canon. Cauldrons plan was to maximise their odds of a bullshit power interaction being able to defeat Scion, and it worked! Everyone say thank you doctor mother right now
What if they were called The Slaughterhouse Ten and Amy and Ashley got freaky with it
uggh i have so much in head i can't think of a caption
Having an extremely specific problem after trying a traditional pencil crayon look for an older Tattletale portrait. Somehow, during the slow work from grubby sketch to rendering, she became way too hot. And said traditional art style means I can’t change this with regular digital tools, I have to redraw sections of her face entirely.
That I did with optical colour mixing using hatching and a limited palette.
Do I roll with hot Tattletale or do I suffer?
to avoid any possible confusion we’re doing a blake poll
by rawest deal, i don’t necessarily mean “who has the weakest power," since that's a different poll, but rather I'm asking whose life sucks (or sucked) the most?
make sure to tell me what you think and why you think it!
Clockblocker and Assault both get to embody one half of Fozzy Bear, with Assault getting the hat and Clockblocker the scarf, naturally
Worm (2011) but theyre all muppets
So when Sabah joins the Undersiders shes literally just drawing on angry eyebrows with a felt marker

So I'm working on a fic currently and I was trying to mentally map how I view the layout of the Hebert house so I made a whole floor plan. I'm aware of the one wildbow made, but I wasn't when I started, and I like mine better anyway.
The stairs into the basement are directly below the stairs to the 2nd floor, should help orient things.
Floor 1 + yard
Floor 2
Basement
I figure the whole property sits on a full acre, in the older residential part of the docks, so not surrounded by apartments or townhouses but also not an excessively wealthy area. Where the middle class used to be before the economic downturn hit Brockton Bay.
(suggested by @hpetrr)
THIS POLL IS NOT ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT
note how like half of the options are various things on the ace spectrum. this is gerrymandering
Fun fact about this: i have literally no idea if pansexual and omnisexual are the same thing. (some people said that they were both synonymous with bisexual) I tried looking it up and there didn't appear to be any consensus whatsoever.
AND SEE HOW I LEFT OUT A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF NUANCE WITHIN ASPEC WITH THE COMPLETE OMISSION OF PRETTY MUCH ANY DEMIROMANTIC/AROMANTIC OPTIONS
the slug is not a sexuality. if you're wondering by the way the slug is straight because i don't like him. worm fanon polls is heterophobic you heard it here first folks
Make sure to tell me what you think and why you think it! Just. Don't yell, please?
good question actually where do you headcanon lisa is like, from? Which part of the world?
official prt branded kids show protagonist: alright friends, lets show this villain why they shouldn't mess with Banana Bread!
bonesaw neck deep in corpses: ooh. the subtle characterization. the innovative and bold color choices. now this is High Art
it might already exist but holy shit "Becky" by Be Your Own Pet is such a Taylor Hebert song there needs to be an amv. I don't even watch amv's and there needs to be one. does it necessarily fit the vibe 100% or is accurate to events in the book? no, but its real close
The other day I noticed that one of the roads I drive by on my regular commute is named "Leet Street" and boy did the whiplash from realizing that for the first time nearly crash my damn car
Victoria Dallon Halloween:
"uuuuhh, Console? Got some Blaster-2s here, some kinda splash attack power harassing houses in the neighborhood. Think I'm gonna break half of their bones and throw em in forever jail, over and out"
is cherish in my neighborhood, why did I wake up this morning with a slaughterhouse nine au in my head??? brain, explain
Back at it again with another Parahumans fandom question.
Just thinking about something for a fic I'm writing that sort of applies to the setting at large, did Columbine happen on Earth Bet? Because from what I can tell it didn't. The Columbine shooting was the catalyst in the US to get increased surveillance and security in the school system which led to all the security cameras in the hallways and on campus in schools of all levels.
The reason I think this didn't happen on Earth Bet because if schools like Winslow were using security cameras then the extensive bullying campaign Taylor was on the receiving end of would have stopped way sooner. But even if it hadn't, she was shoved into her locker, objectively, and hallways in schools are generally where cameras are most frequently, so if there was a camera in that hallway then it could've been easily determined who put Taylor into the hospital. I guess the fact that that doesn't happen means that either 1. School shootings such as Columbine never got national attention like in our timeline or 2. Winslow is so corrupt and underfunded that it can't meet DOE security standards in a public high school.
I know there's some fanon about how corrupt and evil Principal Blackwell is, but security cameras provide a certain objectivity to events that theoretically should have been easy to obtain during the investigation as to what happened? I dunno, thoughts just spiraling.
now, hypothetically, how does one find a "beta-reader"
the fic isn't written yet, still working on the outline, but I feel like I'm going to need earlier feedback than hoping for comments when I start to publish it
is there a store to get one, or do I need to go on a quest to acquire, the beta-reader? hypothetically
Does it have to be my traumatic personal character arc or is there like a bin we have to pull from? I feel pretty not-traumatized, oh gosh, does that make me a cauldron cape of a wormblrina?
I’m taking over Wormblr and Wardblr
Handing out vials for my loyal viziers.
Giving powers symbolic of traumatic personal character arcs to the peasantry!!!
I definitely feel like worm, and the fanfics, are at their best when it's "worm the dark superhero story" and not "worm the superhero sci fi story".
Just sort of weakens the setting and world? And I hate how much of a sword of damocles Scion is for so many fics because if you don't change enough about the setting to where Gold Morning doesn't happen, then the plot might have to go there and that doesn't feel like it works for every fic. I admire a fic who states outright in the tags or authors notes that "Hey, Scion just fucked off to be depressed about his alien girlfriend, this story won't have a gold morning" because it lessens that narrative weight that works for canon worm, but not the plot of every fanfic.
Some of my favorite wormfics (Shamus, Postdiluvian Road) are concentrated cape stories about what being a small-time player in the world actually looks like.
Canon Worm is great for what it is, and it also has a narrow focus and pathway of escalation that I love, but I don't think the majority of fics need to follow in the footsteps of.
Haven't read Ward but every mention of stuff from Ward that I see in the wiki (Firmament, Shardspace, Titans, etc) makes me groan.
huge worm spoilers below the cut
honestly, despite the fact that it was baked into the story from the very beginning, i genuinely feel like worm and fanfiction thereof is served well by kind of ignoring the whole source behind the powers.
like obviously the Entities’ goals drive a lot of the conflict (both a storytelling term and literal fights) but frankly i feel like worm is best when it’s about the people living in a world that just kinda fuckin sucks.
‘what if everything was worse and also people had superpowers and do very human things with them’ is way better than the whole interdimensional space whales that have inserted a thing into a bunch of peoples brains that gives them superpowers but also makes them want to fight so that they can explode everything
and don’t get me started on everything in fucking ward
Take a penny from the "take a penny, leave a penny" gas station thing, but she doesn't leave a penny >:)
AMY DALLON has finally gotten sick of NEW WAVE'S BULLSHIT and decided to become a real SUPERVILLAIN. YOUR TASK, should you choose to accept it, is to INVENT for her an EVIL ACT TO DO, before she snaps and does something UNSPEAKABLE to her SISTER.
