I walk among the sands of a foreign desert unable to exchange words with my thoughts. I had been travelling with my two siblings but we got split when looking for water to bring into our bodies. My dark skin is dusted with pale sand as I continue to walk, I cannot see any vegetation in the distance beside the pale green cacti and the desert roses. I go well into the night hours searching for euphoria, somewhere where I can finally rest. This goes on for the next couple of days. I cannot stop, I must keep...
I awaken to the gentle sound of rushing water among rocks and the crackling of wood. The gentle buzz of fireflies and the occasional hoot of a distant owl. I slowly open my eyes to see stars among them are lush green trees that I can just barely see in the darkness of the night.
"Noir."
A single word makes me sit upright. My eyes bless me with the sight of my older brother, Ryan. His skin is clean, freshly dressed in linen. "VAMPY!" I hear another voice scream. Wood drops to the ground as I feel my younger brother wrap me in an embrace.
I got a bit bored I hope you don't mind me doing your prompt @newworldswritingclub
Not a very well structured poem but I was really in the mindset to write a poem this morning. I found my “old” journal with a couple characters I made while making coffee.
Sleeping is almost non optional in the mornings Alarms fade into quiet storms Quieter than the thoughts and plans For the day ahead
Gentle hisses from a small dragon The start of a morning filled with change. The coffee begins to brew as I begin to dress.
Words being exchanged between two lovers Arrangements being made And some being cancelled. She too, begins to dress for the day ahead
A cup of coffee being shared between two A cup of wine to occupancy it. They flip through the pages of their past and reminisce on the future.
