So excited to get this ask! I’ve included 6 rather than 5, I’ll claim it’s for layout reasons and not because I can’t make a choice to save my life…
I really struggled with choosing because I love such a wide range of music but I chose the songs I’ve had on repeat recently.
Mindless self indulgence have pretty reliably been in the rotation for over a decade now and surprisingly to no one the song with faggot in the title has been in my fagdyke ears a lot!
Nerf herder are soooo right btw, I don’t want a boyfriend, WHAT I WANT IS MR SPOCK!!!
I discovered cibo matto on my recent rewatch of buffy the vampire slayer (nerf herder and morcheeba are also featured although I somehow hadn’t realised this until this rewatch!) and they are so freaking awesome!! They have an entire album with lyrics about food and the band name literally translates to crazy food, dare I say they are the coolest people ever.
The downward spiral by nine inch nails is one of my favourite albums and this coil remix of closer is freaking delicious.
I’ve been listening to morcheeba since I was in the womb (Thanku to my mam for her awesome music taste) and have been listening to this song a lot recently! (I have a really cool morcheeba tshirt with some crazy lore which I will probably share someday soon..)
Finally and most importantly, I had to include at least one Welsh language song/artist. I’ve been grieving the loss of my ability to visit my homeland since becoming increasingly disabled and since living in England for so long I’ve largely forgotten my native tongue. I’ve been listening to lots of Welsh language music recently to try and feel closer to my roots and sage todz is a favourite! I would be remiss not to also mention the lovely band adwaith who I’ve been enjoying recently and who hail from my hometown Caerfyrddin!
ANYWAY, I would apologise for the unnecessary ramble but who would I be if I didn’t over explain myself and the things I love..
