"Coffee" brewed by fleureez ☕︎
A versatile ingredient that can be a hot or cold drink, household uses,a beauty remedy, and a quick energizer. Coffee's history is generally traced to Ethiopia (Driven Coffee, 2024). Specifically, the Kaffa region of Ethiopia is widely considered the birthplace of coffee, where wild coffee plants originated. Legend says that a goat herder named Kaldi discovered the energizing effects of coffee berries after noticing his goats became unusually active after consuming them. This discovery then led to the cultivation and trade of coffee, first within the Arabian Peninsula and then globally.
Coffee is never just coffee—well, at least for me, it isn’t. Coffee has always been associated with my Lolo, who drank it every day. I remember, from childhood until his very last moments on earth, he would have a scorching black coffee, always served in his favorite mug. The coffee’s warm embrace gives me a comforting feeling that somehow makes grieving a little easier. Every cup I make for myself reminds me of him and how much I miss him. Seeing my reflection on that very same mug my thoughts are immediately transported back to the time he held it.
Though my beloved Lolo is not here anymore his love for coffee lives on every cup I make. Coffee is never just coffee– it's never just a quick energizer. It's nostalgia served in a cup. ☕︎

Day 30, free abstraction (post-given name - Hearts)
I am very warm about this work and do really really love it
Probably because lack of theme allowed me to remember my old approaches and renew my feelings~~
To new beginnings<3

Let's pause for a moment

I feel comfortable right now
In this moment
I’m warm
I’m tired
I’m not freaking out
I feel like a little kid in this state of innocence
But this moment has just been ruined by my colon
In other words
I have to poop
Fucking mother nature
You must be laughing at me
But since tomorrow is my birthday
I suppose I should let you have a laugh
But please be careful
With your volcanoes
And your avalanches
But thank you for this moment
Full of my favorite things,
Music,
Warmth,
Fuzzy blanket,
Yarn,
Silly conversations with friends,
A head of ideas,
And lastly,
A feeling of completeness
Or wholeness
This is so warm and sunshiney and tranquil--just a generally lovely use of color and mood. And of course, a peaceful morning for these two is long overdue!
Just a slow morning off. :)
I tremble in the cold
Of December
Yet the warmth
In my heart
Lights up my soul
Like the strands of beauty
On the tree
a medley of movement at midnight
