EN|| I’ve being trying something new. I usually draw my illustrations with black outlines, either in pencil or vector. So, I’ve done a series of illustrations about baby animals with their mothers, experimenting with flat colors, only using lines in “small places” to make separations. I think I quite like the final pieces... Let me know what you think! 🤍 To start the series, a giraffe mum and her cute little child looking up to her. Always learning new things to thrive in the world.🦒☀️
ES|| Estos días he estado probando algo nuevo. Normalmente suelo dibujar mis ilustraciones con contornos negros, ya sea a lápiz o con vectores. Así que he hecho una serie de ilustraciones sobre crías de animales con sus madres, experimentando con colores planos y usando las líneas negras solo en pequeños puntos para crear separaciones entre planos. Creo que me gusta bastante el resultado final de las piezas... ¡Contadme qué os parece a vosotros!🤍 Para empezar la serie, una mamá jirafa y su adorable cría mirando hacia arriba, admirándola. Siempre aprendiendo cosas nuevas para prosperar y “florecer” en el mundo.🦒☀️
ES|| A veces hago retratos de mascotas. Este es un encargo que hice, ya hace un tiempo, para un regalo sorpresa de cumpleaños. El retrato de Bru, un pequeño y adorable podenco que vive en Barcelona y le encanta pasear con su dueña. EN|| Sometimes I do pet portraits. This is a commission I did some time ago for a surprise birthday present, a portrait of Bru a little adorable podenco who lives in Barcelona and loves to walk with his owner. ES|| Mandad mucho amor a vuestros seres queridos todos los días, sea San Valentín o no!! A veces suelo pensar que no nos decimos suficiente lo mucho que nos apreciamos los unos a los otros. My version of this year's wooden snake is accompanied by kittens so that it doesn't feel lonely. I started a bit stuck with the composition of the snake, because I didn't want it to look like last year's dragon, at first all the compositions seemed a bit bland to me and finally I decided to put the cats as sweet companions (like the rabbits last year) and the frame around it.
If you look at the frame, I have drawn the different lunar phases and different typical elements of each season of the year. Can you find them all?🐍♥️

I made this "quick" illustration for this season #kidlitartpostcard to celebrate the arrival of autumn, the season where the days get shorter, the nights longer, the time of witches on brooms, chestnuts, mushrooms, pumpkins and red leaves. It's inspired by the #peachtober24 theme SKY. Furthermore, this illustration also serves to vindicate the work of artists and illustrators who put all their effort and heart into their work to be able to live from it, against AI that, at the moment, only serves to steal the work of many and enrich a little few.

EN|| Like every other summer I already sound like a broken record, complaining about the heat while working in front of the computer. These days I'm drawing fishes and more fishes for a very refreshing project that will see the light of day next year. I’m very grateful for the herbal teas with many ice cubes the size of an Olympic pool that keep me company!!🥝🍋🌿
ES|| Es tiempo de helados!! 🍦☀️ Yo, como no puedo comérmelos, los dibujo bien cuquis con sus pestañas largas. A decir verdad, he hecho una pandilla entera de heladitos de colores que, a pesar del calor que hace, aguantan monísimos siempre con una sonrisa en la cara. La pandilla “Helados felices” está formada por: Cream, Choco-mint, Scoops, Sprinkles, RoseBerry y Wavy. Este de aquí es “Wavy” un helado de crema de vainilla con virutas de colores, dos barquillos y un cono de galleta con sabor vainilla decorada con corazoncitos. A pesar de su aspecto, Wavy tiene un carácter tranquilo y siempre está disponible a escuchar los problemas de los otros y aconsejarlos lo mejor que sus habilidades le permitan. Es ideal saborearlo para tomarse un respiro o en un momento de llorera incontrolada.🤍
EN|| It’s ice cream season!!🍦☀️ Since I can't eat them, I draw very cute ice creams with their long eyelashes. To tell you the truth, I’ve made a whole crew of colourful fun ice creams that, despite the heat, don’t melt, instead they hold up with a smile on their face. The “Happy Ice Cream” gang is made up of: Cream, Choco-mint, Scoops, Sprinkles, RoseBerry and Wavy. This one is “Wavy,” a heart decorated vanilla cone with a vanilla flavoured wavy ice cream, sprinkles and two biscuits. Despite his appearance, Wavy has a calm demeanour and is always available to listen to other people’s problems and advise them to the best of her abilities. It’s ideal to savour it while taking a break or in a moment of uncontrolled crying.🤍
ES|| Esta soy yo y mi gato imaginario.☀️ Para los que no me conozcáis: Me llamo Anna Valpuesta Farré y soy ilustradora infantil. Nací y vivo en Barcelona y me apasiona crear personajes adorables que solo con mirarlos me saquen una sonrisa. En mis tiempos libres soy una voraz devoradora de libros y siempre llevo una taza o termo de infusión de hierbas en la mano (fresquita en verano y calentita en invierno). EN|| This is me and my imaginary cat.☀️ For those of you who don't know me: My name is Anna Valpuesta Farré and I’m a children's illustrator. I'm from Barcelona and I’m passionate about creating adorable characters that just by looking at them make you smile. In my free time I’m a voracious devourer of books and I always carry a cup or a thermos of herbal tea in my hand (cool in the summer and warm in the winter). I absolutely love nature and animals, I’m always looking at birds, flowers and plants, bees and any little animal that passes by... It fascinates me to discover animals that I didn’t know existed in the world and I have a mental list of animals that It would be a dream come true to see live in its natural habitat. For this reason, nature is always present in my illustrations. Ahh! And I like taking photos, but not being in them. I think this is the first time I've made a self-portrait!! 🌻🐝

El conejo más aventurero del mundo, después de viajar al espacio a conocer los planetas y las estrellas, se ha aficionado a ponerse el neopreno y las aletas y salir a explorar uno de los mundos más desconocidos del planeta Tierra, el océano. Todos los dibujos están inspirados en animales marinos reales, podéis reconocer alguno de ellos? Si tuviera que escoger uno de estos animalitos para poder verlo de cerca creo que me quedaría con la ballena, la tortuga o uno de los peces globo, aunque todos me parecen bastante curiosos y el mundo marino, en general, es impresionantemente rico, aún me sorprendo descubriendo peces de colores y formas que no imaginaba posibles y, además, todavía estamos descubriendo nuevas especies. 🐋🐡🐠
EN|| This rabbit is not a mermaid, although it’s very close to one. The most adventurous rabbit in the world, after traveling to space to meet the planets and stars, he is putting on his wetsuit and fins and going out to explore one of the most unknown worlds on planet Earth, the ocean. All the drawings are inspired by real marine animals, can you recognize any of them? If I had to choose one of these little animals to see up close, I think I’d choose the blue whale, the turtle or one of the puffer fish, although all the creatures in there seem quite interesting to me and the marine world, in general, is impressively rich, I still surprise myself by discovering fish of colors and shapes that I did not imagine possible and, furthermore, we are still discovering new species. 🐋🐡🐠
Today is my birthday!! So I'm gonna eat cake and make a wish (I love this tradition, if you want to know it's origins go to my last year's birthday post)!! 🍰✨

ES|| Hay un montón de cosas con las que quiero experimentar, aunque parece que nunca encuentro el momento (No os pasa lo mismo? Parece que el tiempo se me esfume entre las manos!!). Una de estas cosas es hacer patterns. Os muestro un experimento que hice con los dibujitos laterales de la ilustración de conejitos para pascua. Ya sé que destacan más son los conejitos que las estrellas, incluido el sol, pero es difícil superar ese nivel de adorable!🐰✨
Qué os parece el resultado? Creo que, aunque sea la primera vez que experimento con este tipo de composiciones, ha quedado bastante bien! Ya me lo imagino en papeles de regalo y libretas… Vosotros donde creéis que podría quedar genial un estampado como este?
EN|| There are a lot of things I want to experiment with, although I never seem to find the time to do them (Isn't the same thing happening to you? It seems like time is slipping through my hands!!). One of the things I always wanted to try is making patterns. Here you can see an experiment I did with the side drawings of the bunny illustration for Easter. I know that the bunnies stand out more than the stars, including the sun, but it's hard to beat that level of cuteness!🐰✨
What do you think of the result? I think that, although it’s the first time I experiment with this type of compositions, it has turned out quite well! I can already imagine it on wrapping paper and notebooks... Where do you think a print like this could look great?

ES|| Disfrutad de la "mona" y del chocolate! Este pastel en el que están trabajando tan duramente los conejitos (bueno, casi todos, algunos solo saben hacer travesuras y comerse trocitos de escondidas) me recuerda a las monas de cuando era pequeña, aunque la faltan las plumas de colores y los pollitos
EN|| Enjoy the "mona" and chocolate! This cake that the bunnies are working so hard on (well, almost all of them, some of them only know how to get into mischief and eat little pieces while hiding) reminds me of the “monas” my childhood, although it lacks the colored feathers and the little chicks.
Hay veces que lo que te atraviesa el corazón no es una flecha de Cupido… “Art lover” es un personaje inspirado en los amores diferentes y, en especial en todos los amantes del arte y aquellos que, como yo, siempre llevan un lápiz encima! ♥️✏️💗

ES|| Hay muchísimos tipos diferentes de amor y este cartero está preparado para repartir todo tipo de cartas a todo tipo de destinatarios! Siempre me ha parecido un poco absurdo fijar un solo día para celebrar el amor, y menos si se trata de uno estándar con unos roles predeterminados, con mucho consumismo y con poco sentimiento. El amor, de todo tipo en su infinidad de formas (¡Ah eso sí, todos menos los que son tóxicos!), tendría que celebrarse todos los días del año, ya sea el amor por la familia, el amor por una o varias parejas, el amor por los amigos, por los animales de compañía, por el planeta tierra, por el arte o, el que le gusta más a este conejito trabajador, el amor más importante de todos (y a veces el más difícil) el amor a uno mismo, siempre sin caer en el egocentrismo. Así que ya sabéis celebrad el amor todos los días! ♥️
EN|| There are many different kinds of love and this postbunny is prepared to deliver all types of letters to all types of recipients! To me it has always seemed a little absurd to set a single day to celebrate love, and even more so if it’s a standard love with predetermined roles, a lot of consumerism and little feeling. Love, of all types in its infinite forms (Oh yes, all except the toxic ones!), should be celebrated every day of the year, whether if it’s love for family, love for one or more partners, the love for friends, for pets, for the planet Earth, for art or, the one this hard-working bunny likes the most, the most important form of love (and sometimes the most difficult) the love for oneself, always without falling into egocentrism. So go and celebrate love every day!! ♥️
ES|| Como apasionada de los dragones no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de celebrar el inicio del año nuevo lunar, que este año es el del dragón, y ya de paso, aprovecho para despedirme del año que dejamos atrás, el del conejo!
Me parece super curioso la diversidad de dragones que existen en los diferentes imaginarios y culturas alrededor del mundo. De todos los colores (verdes, rojos, turquesa), formas (de serpiente, de lagarto, como una montaña o como un rio), elementos (fuego, agua, tierra) y caracteres (bondadosos como los de varias mitologías asiáticas o malos como en las leyendas occidentales). A mi personalmente me encantan los dragones bondadosos ligados a la naturaleza, por este motivo me imagino siempre al dragón de Sant Jordi como un jardinero que cultiva rosas y no como un ser despiadado que solo de su sangre brota la vida.

EN|| As a dragon enthusiast, I couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of this lunar new year, the year of the dragon. And, in the way, say goodbye to the year we leave behind, the year of the rabbit!
I find it super intriguing the diversity of dragons that exist in different imaginaries and cultures all around the world. We can find dragons of all colors (green, red, turquoise), shapes (like a snake, a lizard, a mountain or a river), elements (fire, water, earth) and natures/ mind set (kind-hearted like those in various Asian mythologies or bad like in Western legends). I personally love kind dragons linked to nature and farming, for this reason I always imagine the Sant Jordi dragon as a gardener who grows roses and not as a ruthless being that only from its blood does life thrive.

I don't know why bats have the bad reputation of being terrifying, I personally find them adorable. They're like mini pompoms with wings! I could spend hours watching them fly and doing acrobatics in the sky. Not to mention that they eat a lot of mosquitoes! It’s a shame there are so many species of bats in danger of extinction. We have to change the way we look at them and do a little more to conserve these special and important animals.

ES|| ¿Cuál os gusta más, con línea negra o con las líneas de colores? Segundo helado de la serie de heladitos sonrientes. Da la casualidad que también es mi segundo favorito. Me gusta el contraste de formas y sabores de las tres bolas. ¿Qué sabores creéis que son? Yo me he imaginado una bola de chocolate blanco con “lacasitos”, una de fresa con virutas rosas y la última, por imaginar sabores, pistacho con trocitos de chocolate negro (aunque por la paleta de colores que he estado usando parece más una bola de menta con chocolate). En esta ocasión, además de las dos versiones, también os enseño el esbozo con la paleta de colores CMYK (ha sido la misma para toda la serie de ilustraciones). Aunque veréis que hay colores que al final he acabado descartando y de alguno he utilizado algún tono más oscuro para las sombras.🍦🍫🍓
EN|| Black line or colored lines? What do you think, which one do you like more? Second ice cream in the series of happy ice creams. It just so happens to be that it's also my second favorite. I like the contrast of shapes and flavors. What flavors do you think they are? I have imagined a scoop of white chocolate with "lacasitos", one of strawberry with pink sprinkles and the last, to imagine flavors, pistachio with pieces of dark chocolate (although due to the color palette I’ve been using it looks more like a ball of Mint with chunks of chocolate). On this occasion, in addition to the two versions, you also can see the sketch with the CMYK color palette (it has been the same for the entire series of illustrations). Although you’ll see that there are colors that I ended up discarding and some of them I used a darker tone to make some shadows.🍦🍫🍓
ES|| Para celebrar que ya casi tenemos el otoño encima, voy a enseñaros una serie de heladitos que he estado haciendo en mis tiempos libres (he de confesar que gran parte la he hecho viendo películas de miedo… ¡Viva el contraste!). Pues como os decía, he estado jugando con el illustrator, que lo tenía un poco aparcado porque siempre acababa aplicando el color con Photoshop o de forma tradicional, así que he estado usando nuevas herramientas y formas de trabajar y probando estilos nuevos. Al final tengo tres helados sonrientes de sabores bien distintos (creo que este es mi favorito de entre los tres diseños, ya me diréis cuál es el vuestro cuando los haya colgado todos), pero con dos propuestas de acabado diferente para cada uno de ellos. A vosotros cual os gusta más: con la línea negra o con las líneas de colores?🍦🍓
EN|| To celebrate that autumn it’s almost upon us, I’m going to show you a series of ice creams I’ve been making in my free time (I must confess that I’ve made most of them watching scary movies… I love the contrast between what I was watching and the piece I was doing!). Well, as I told you, I've been playing with illustrator, which I had put on hold because I’ve always ended up applying the color with Photoshop or in a traditional way. So, I've been using new tools and ways of working and trying new styles. In the end I have three smiling ice creams with very different flavors (I think this is my favorite one of the three designs, I hope you’ll tell me which one is yours when I’ve posted them all), but with two different looks for each of them. Which do you like the best: the one with the black line or the one with the colored lines? 🍦🍓
ES|| Ya estamos casi a medianos de setiembre, dentro de nada ya será otoño… Siempre lo digo, pero el tiempo vuela! Cómo cambia el paisaje urbano! Los más pequeñitos ya han empezado la nueva aventura que es empezar el año escolar y, según qué hora de día, se puede ver montones de niños y niñas que con sus mochilitas de colores se dirigen a descubrir miles de cosas junto a nuevos compañeros o amigos de siempre. Estos animalitos empiezan con buen pie y ya se van de campamentos, cargados con mochilas y maletas, todos en su sitio, con el cinturón puesto, mirando las maravillas que aparecen entre los árboles (menos el frailecillo que va volando siguiendo a sus amigos y solo se posa a descansar. Ah! Y el hipopótamo que conduce sin distraerse ni un poquito!)🌙
EN|| We are almost in mid-September, soon enough it will be autumn ... I always say it, but time flies! The little ones have already begun the new adventure that is starting the school year and, depending on the time of day, you can see lots of kids with their colorful backpacks heading out to discover thousands of things along with new colleagues or old friends. These little animals are off to a good start, they’re already going camping, loaded with backpacks and suitcases, all in their place, with their seat belts on, looking at the wonders hidden between the trees (except for the puffin that flies following its friends and only settles down to rest. Oh! And the hippopotamus who drives without being distracted even a little bit!)🌙
