Twisted The Untold Story Of A Royal Vizier - Blog Posts

Guys, I messed up. I messed up real bad.

So I decided to listen to two musicals for the first time this week.

The first musical is an underrated masterpiece with a beautiful story and amazing comedy and while the songs aren’t the greatest songs I’ve heard in a musical, they’re still really REALLY great. It’s also a really good parody on top of that. Like this is legitimately one of my favorite musicals now, 9.8/10

The second is a cast album that doesn’t have a show yet and while it isn’t the greatest musical in the world, it was still a pretty good time and I have a ton of respect for the creator. It was a solid 7/10 cast album

However, this is where we run into an issue.

The second musical is INSANELY popular. Like Hamilton-level popular. There are thousands of fics, fanarts, animatics, covers, the whole shebang.

The first musical while it had a decent size fanbase at one point, and a lot of people still like it, the hype has completely died down and it gets grouped together with a lot of musicals made by the same group. There’s very little fanart, there’s barely anything on Tumblr, there’s less than 50 fics, and nobody mentions it anymore.

GUESS WHICH ONE MY BRAIN DECIDED TO HYPER-FIXATE ON?!

And I missed out on the hype cause I was 8 when it came out.

Crap.

I've been going off about Starkid and my admiration for their work: might have watched 4 of their musicals between 8:30pm-10:54am

literally screaming at everybody “pete and ted can’t ever interact with each other, they’re played by the same actor : (“ DO YOU FORGET WHO WE’RE DEALING WITH HERE??

there are the insane quick changes of which we have: joey richter himself playing what i can only assume to be the entire population of independence (plus an ox) in one song:

Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played
Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played

and then, of course, the master himself, brosenthal, playing frankly 80% of the cast, but ESPECIALLY in this one scene. ONE SCENE:

Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played
Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played
Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played
Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played
Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played

“oh but joey left the scene for some of the quick changes in tto, he can’t do that if the spankoffski bros are supposed are supposed to have a conversation” FINE, the other option: just play two characters at once. which starkid has done before.

exhibit one, twisted. these two are not the same:

Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played

exhibit two, tgwdlm, a hatchetfield show. this already happened in a hatchefield show:

Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played

(also, it is two different characters, do not fight me on this. this scene is too confrontation from jekyll & hyde-coded to be the same character) SPEAKING off confrontation:

Literally Screaming At Everybody “pete And Ted Can’t Ever Interact With Each Other, They’re Played

joey did already. play two different characters at once. i’m not here to argue the semantics or implications about personhood of saying confrontation and let it go has two different characters each, i’m just saying, acting-wise, there’s two distinctive characters in both songs. like. guys. absolutely joey could just simply play both of them simultaneously. they literally do this all the time. what’s your excuse now
